(In December 2009 Nestlé announced that its Kit Kat chocolate products in Britain would start to be sold with certification from the Fairtrade Foundation.) A 2012 report by the Fair Labor Association found numerous serious violations of Nestlé’s own child labor policies among its suppliers. In 2006 ILRF sued Nestlé again in U.S. court, accusing the company with complicity in the torture and murder of a Colombian trade union leader by paramilitary forces with which it allegedly had a long-standing relationship.
