Children's Rescue Initiative founder Bruce Ladebu joins us to discuss the 20 years he's spent liberating hundreds of people from slavery and trafficking! What We Discuss with Bruce Ladebu: Human trafficking and slavery affect around 40 million globally, generating $150 billion per year. Exploitation includes forced labor, domestic servitude, and sex trafficking of all ages. Heartless and often sadistic traffickers prey on the most vulnerable and desperate populations, including disaster-stricken children and marginalized minorities. Corruption and apathy among local authorities and law enforcement allow this atrocity of an industry to thrive. Rescuing trafficking victims is perilous work, but Bruce Ladebu's team has saved hundreds over the past 20 years. Extensive physical and mental rehabilitation in the aftermath is often necessary for these survivors to cope with the trauma they've endured. Children's Rescue Initiative is Bruce's organization that provides funding for a variety of programs that help to rescue children from trafficking and slavery, provide them with shelter and care, and help them reintegrate into society. Donating cash is just one way to help — people can also volunteer their time to organizations like Children's Rescue Initiative that are working to combat human trafficking and slavery. There are a number of ways to volunteer, such as working in a shelter, providing legal assistance, or advocating for policy changes. And much more... There are a number of class actions suits going on at the moment regarding Consumer Reports claims about toxic metals in chocolate. Recently, “a lawsuit accusing Trader Joe's of failing to disclose that its dark chocolate products contain dangerous “heavy metals” was mostly dismissed by a judge. We will report on the cadmium and lead in chocolate issue once all these class action suits have ended.

Welcome to Episode 8 of Justice Studio Sessions. In this episode we discuss child slavery in the chocolate industry. This was a topic that Justice Studio came across during an evaluation for the German Government, of their Covid 19 Regeneration and Re-build Programme, which supported suppliers in the coffee and cocoa sectors across Africa.Joining us is Terry Collingsworth in an international human rights lawyer and founder of International Rights Advocates. He was General Counsel of the International Labor Rights Forum (ILRF) from 1989 to 2006 and made Executive Director in 2001. Since 2007, Terry has focused primarily on human rights and bringing lawyers, educators, and human rights activists together to collaborate on strategic litigation, public policy, consumer campaigns, and targeted actions against child slavery in the chocolate industry. In our discussion we highlight the issue of child labour, hazardous work and slavery, the income inequalities at the different stages of the cocoa supply chain, Fair Trade and the Rainforest Alliance, and how, despite the Harkin Engel Protocol, the chocolate industry has failed to make any real steps to stop child slavery. Today I'm honored to have back on the show for a second time after an overwhelming response to his first episode to do a Part 2: Operational CIA MONARCH mind slave, overcomer, writer and author, husband, father, whistleblower and walking miracle, J.R SweetA little bit about JR if you missed his last episode: J.R grew up in a multi-generational incest-based satanic and Mornon family bloodline who's lineages trace back to King Henry the 8th and he didn't begin to recall his and his family's involvement with the CIA's MK Ultra mind control program until he was 38. J.R. was trained to be a political sleeper assassin for the CIA since childhood and would be used on kill missions on behalf of high level members of the agency and network to help carry out their dark agendas. Since awakening to his abuse and the truth about his family, he began an incredible blog titled ‘The Mormon Monarch' where he shares harrowing details about his life and past. I highly recommend you guys check this blog out - you can head to www.MormonMonarch.com to learn more - I'll have this linked in the shownotes and encourage you all to go check it out to learn more and to support him.The last time J.R. was on, we dove head-first into his story of being born into MK ULTRA, testing protocols for children entering and in programs, kill missions, exposing Disney as a programming and child exploitation center, and so much more. If you missed J.R.'s first episode, I'll link it below so you can watch it - so many of you had the most touching outcries of support and love for J.R. and it was really amazing reading the comment section after his last episode aired! This time around, he is going to expand on what we talked about last time regarding his life in MK ULTRA so we can all together shine a light so bright on these darknesses that they cease to exist anymore. J.R. himself is a walking testimony of what happens when you shine a light on the darkness and I know you all felt that from him last time. J.R.'s abusers tried everything they could to break him, but what they could not break… was his spirit. The fact that he is sitting here with us today is a miracle in itself and I ask you all to put away anything you are doing, rally around J.R., hold space and give him your full attention.. We are all going to learn a lot together on today's episode and always have to keep in mind what an honor it is to get to listen to a survivor speak. I'm thrilled to bring you another episode from our Lakou series, delving into the rich tapestry of Haitian culture living in the diaspora and in Haiti. Today, we have a very special guest joining us all the way from London, Guilaine Brutus, who is an integral part of the Haitian community there. In this episode, we explored a tabooed topic in Haitian culture - the practice of Restavek, child slavery. I'm not going to sugar coat the practice by calling it child servitude. When people work for free, it's slavery. Period. Full stop. Guilaine shared her mother's personal experience as a Restavek in Haiti and in the Turks & Cacos. Listen to how Guilaine's mom and family coped with the hardships and sacrifices of being a restavek. We examined the role of women in Haitian society, discussed the lack of recognition for their contributions and the importance of understanding the trauma individuals may carry with them. So, get ready for a thought-provoking, emotionally heavy, and insightful conversation as we delve into the world of Restavek and its long-lasting consequences on individuals, families, and Haitian culture. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson discusses the new film “Sound of Freedom,” with star Jim Caviezel and real life inspiration Tim Ballard. The film details Ballard's work as a Special Agent to fight against sex trafficking and the child sex trade. They go into depth on the psychology of pedophilia, the nature of good and evil, and how a steady faith in God has guided all three. Tim Ballard is the founder and CEO of Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), which locates and rescues endangered children victimized by sex trafficking rings. Previously, he accrued a decade of experience as a Special Agent in the Dept. of Homeland Security, working as an undercover op for the U.S. Child Sex Tourism Jump Team. Jim Caviezel is a prominent American actor and household name in no small part for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in “The Passion of the Christ,” (sequel coming in 2024). He has had a decades long career both on and off screen, and is an advocate for faith in the modern world. - Links - For "Sound of Freedom" Website & Showtimes https://www.angel.com/tickets/sound-of-freedom?variation=july_3&gclid=CjwKCAjw44mlBhAQEiwAqP3eVnIIADwWMUdV6MjV99Y3Zw2oyCtO0W8OFgNZM7-M6SYBGjxqo7ABqhoCXlAQAvD_BwE&zip=49090&date=2023-07-03 For Tim Ballard: O.U.R Website https://ourrescue.org/about-us?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw44mlBhAQEiwAqP3eVqV_6rYPxwLItz-4eRgxqml0g6rQo_nxKsMRxsU_nLFlaGJlnzLQIBoC-WYQAvD_BwE Twitter @TimBallard https://twitter.com/TimBallard For Jim Caviezel: Twitter @JimmyCaviezel https://twitter.com/jimmycaviezel?lang=ar

Today we open with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre unable to answer a simple question about why other nations can evacuate their people from Sudan, but the United States cannot? It's a simple question asked in a shrewd way and the empty-headed Jean-Pierre proves her verbal prowess in spectacular epic fail fashion. We then have to examine the ludicrous attempt by Randi Weingarten to re-write history. She wants you to believe that she fought to reopen schools for in-person learning one month after the lockdown began. She is saying this with a straight face. However, you know how bad you are doing when CNN slams you down for your arrogance, lies and lack of remorse. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) had the gall to suggest the reason we no longer have to wear masks in hearings is because of the Biden Administration. Talk about gaslighting on full display! The Democrat Party stood for nothing but masks and mandates and infringements on freedom and liberty. The walking male member with eyebrows, Alejandro Mayorkas wants you to know the border is closed and it will still be closed when Title 42 is phased out on May 11. Yes, folks, the 6.3 million illegals who have crossed the border since Biden was elected, plus another 1.2 million got-aways, is evidence the border is closed. We head back to KJP to discuss Joe Biden getting caught with a cheat sheet for which reporter to call on for a question. In two bites, we demonstrate how bad this White House is at covering for Joe Biden and just how willing members of the Legacy/mainstream media are to help the White House in their cover-ups. DEI is one of the most foul and toxic way to hire people or to invest, at least in terms of how the Left defines it. We can see this on full display in a quote from Van Jones of CNN. He literally listed Kamala Harris's qualifications as being a woman and black and Asian. It's all about the demographic check-boxes. That's all they care about and it's been happening for far too long. Did you know a typical outfit worn by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez runs over $3500? Must be nice to fool people into thinking the Democrat Party is the party of the average person. Seems AOC has figured how to make money hand over fist in public service. To close, I address a question from a listener – if all of these investigations are revealing criminality, why hasn't anyone been arrested or tried? This leads me to a mini-lesson on our three, co-equal branches of government and how the free press was meant to be the check over corruption. Unfortunately, our Founding Fathers never imagined a time when the press would choose to become a part of government and choose a winning side. But, never lose hope. Truth is important and we must all work to help bring truth out into the light. The more we learn and have the courage to speak out, the better chance we can change the minds of those around us. Never be afraid to speak the truth. That's the only way we have to fight the darkness that's taken root in our government. "Living conditions Compiling a variety of historical sources, historian Kenneth M. Stampp identified in his classic work The Peculiar Institution reoccurring themes in slave masters' efforts to produce the "ideal slave": Maintain strict discipline and unconditional submission. Create a sense of personal inferiority, so that slaves "know their place." Instill fear. Teach servants to take interest in their master's enterprise. Prevent access to education and recreation, to ensure that slaves remain uneducated, helpless, and dependent.[10][11]." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support

What We Discuss with Miki Mistrati: How human trafficking, child slavery, and inhumane treatment likely contribute to the production of your favorite chocolate products. Why, nearly two decades after pledging to eradicate child labor, major chocolate companies still cannot identify the farms where all their cocoa comes from, let alone if child labor was used in producing it. How the biggest chocolate companies wield their billions of dollars in profits to keep legislation that would hold them accountable at bay. What we, as consumers, can do to effectively censure these companies and help the people they exploit. How to ensure the chocolate we enjoy is ethically and sustainably sourced. And much more... Today, more than a quarter of the world's slaves are children. These children are forced to commit sex acts, forced into a system of domestic servitude or employed in occupations that are mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful. It's estimated that those children being enslaved bring in more than 100 billion dollars a year to their captors. Many of these children are born and bred into a cult like family, where they are forced to engage in sexual acts with much older adults in order to bear children to continue building the family of slaves. What happens to these children when they age out and are no longer a valuable commodity to those who control them? What happens to these children when they decide they want out and desperately try to find a way to escape? How do these children cope with a much different world than many of us would never experience? How do they survive in a world that doesn't look familiar, once they get out? Co-Host Diana Davis Diana Davis is the founder of Movies Making a Difference. Their Mission Statement is to make a difference by making socially conscious feature films, then directly aiding the victims upon whom these films shed light. ~ Human Trafficking victims ~ Child Brides ~ Child Labor ~ Physical, Sexual, Emotional and Spiritual Abuse victims. Diana's film Cathedral Canyon shed light into the underworld of the religious persecution of women in a rural polygamist community. Diana and her team rescue and help these young people escape the cult life in order to find a better life for themselves. Also joining us are two survivors who bravely share their stories about being in the FLDS cult and how they escaped; Sarah Taylor and Briel Decker. "HIGHLY EROTIC CANDY DISTRACTS FROM CHILD SLAVERY! | Thinking Out Loud"In this episode of his "Thinking Out Loud" series, Double D satirizes the bout of culture war surrounding the Green M&M, he then transitions into discussing the mass infrastructure of child slavery in cacao production.Double D jumps in to the video by breaking down Tucker Carlson's recent rant about the "less sexy" M&M mascots, he then points out that while Tucker Carlson is putting on an act, much of an increasingly stupefied public finds themselves caught up in yet another bout of superficial culture war. Double D goes on to explain how theatrics like this serve the purpose of dividing the public around as banal a topic as possible, distracting them from the real issues which lay just behind the façade of clickbait headlines and a purposefully curated narrative. In the second half of the video, Double D reveals how Mars-Wrigley, the company which produces M&M's, is engaged in a massive structure of child slavery in West Africa. In his usual tongue-in-cheek fashion, Double D scoffs at the company's attempt to create "inclusive" mascots while they profit off the exploitation of children in the global south.Double D then examines an article from 'The Guardian', which discusses a recent US law suit brought against chocolate producers by former child slaves from The Ivory Coast. The article examines how children were trafficked from neighboring nations into The Ivory Coast, where they were then forced to work in hellish conditions; wielding machetes and handling carcinogenic pesticides without ever being paid.Double D uses the source material to express how this is the true face of capitalism; which no amount of sterile corporate culture, or "inclusive candy cartoons" can hide. He goes on to examine the systems of exploitation which keep all of us in bondage; stating that capitalists use the gun barrel and dollar diplomacy to keep the global south in chains, while they use cheap and addictive commodities to pacify working people in the global north.Double D ends the video by imploring people to take off the corporate mask an look this monstrous system in its face. He asks his viewers to consider alternative economic systems, claiming that it is impossible to reform a system whose prime directive is the ceaseless accumulation of profit.

It is the PENULTIMATE episode of Prodigy for now, and we LOVED it! Anika and Liz plan a reverse heist and discuss: Drednok: the Swiss army knife of henchmen (henchdroids) We love our fictional children We also love terrible dads in fiction and we don't apologise (HOWEVER, Anika has been accused of being a Gul Dukat apologist, and she wants us to know SHE WOULD NEVER) Maybe the Diviner has really good reasons for hating the Federation, but the CHILD SLAVERY makes it a bit difficult to sympathise… New uniforms means we have OPINIONS! Does Anika have to explain how animation works?
In Part II we learn that even though Umaru is physically held as a trafficking victim and later threatened with prison, his spirit will not allow him to submit. He fights back through hunger strikes, protests, and is even willing to lay down his life to save another. Throughout it all, he couldn't understand how in the name of religion his child enslavement began. During his lifetime Umaru witnessed the trafficking of hundreds of minors. He learns that he is the chosen one. He lives to tell the story, forgive his captors, and to help others as a civil rights investigator.
At the age of 7 Umaru was selected by his family to be the Chosen One. That meant that Umaru would have to go with a religious leader to receive the teachings. But instead young Umaru would become a child slave. After his escape he fell into the hands of human traffickers. Umaru's search for freedom took him across four countries. He faced death and often didn't know how he would make it. Each time he was able to get away from his captors and accept the help and kindness of others. Listen to Part I of his story. It reminds us of why we do this work.

On this episode of “Death in The Garden,” we interview human rights lawyer, Terry Collingsworth. Terry has worked for decades as an advocate for people all around the world who have suffered human rights abuses by corporations, and is the Executive Director for International Rights Advocates, an organization that promotes human rights and corporate accountability through legal advocacy. Terry and his organization have worked tirelessly to hold cocoa companies accountable for the child labor and slavery that is occurring in Côte d'Ivoire, as well as other human rights violations such as the flagrant disregard for human life in cobalt mines. We talk about the economic structures that reinforce a system of slavery, and how ultimately consolidating wealth for corporations is the driving force behind these atrocious working conditions throughout the developing world. We discuss how the true costs of our technologies and commodities, such as coffee and chocolate, are never paid by us, the consumers. Terry recently spoke at the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit about the crimes against humanity being committed by Nestle, Cargill, Mars, Hershey, and others, and we discuss the elite corporatism that has infiltrated what is meant to be a democratic conversation that includes all voices. This episode is devastating and illuminating. We are honored to have been given the opportunity to have this conversation with Terry. Please read this article which describes the cases of Nestlé USA, Inc. v. Doe I and Cargill Inc. v. Doe I, a case representing plaintiffs who were kidnapped and trafficked from Mali and enslaved in Côte d'Ivoire. IRAdvocates posted an update on this case on August 2, 2021. On July 30, 2021, Nestle, Cargill, Mars, Hershey, Mondelez, Olam and Barry Callebaut responded to the TVPRA Complaint with a Motion to Dismiss (PDF below). The companies' response is a remarkable collection of objectively verifiable lies. Twenty years after they acted collectively and signed the Harkin-Engel Protocol in 2001 and promised to end their admitted use of the “worst forms of child labor,” they argue to a U.S. federal judge that they are mere purchasers of cocoa, they don't have sufficient knowledge of forced child labor to be liable, they have no control over the cocoa farmers in Cote D'Ivoire, because they are so far removed from cocoa harvesting operations, holding them liable for using cocoa harvested by enslaved children would be akin to holding consumers of chocolate liable, and, by the way, they “strongly condemn the use of forced labor.” The lack of accountability from these companies is horrifying. What's up to my velveteen voles and rambunctious red squirrels! Welcome back to another fire episode of the BNP y'all. Thank you for tuning in and supporting the pod, and shout out to my patrons, you are the fuselage on my gunship and the black and white pattern on my zebra! Your veggies this week are very tasty indeed. A bit fucked, admittedly, but tasty. As always, I sweeten the meal with some zany audio tidbits, and I share an original poem I've recently written.First, we unpack the effing Supreme Court's ruling that Nestle and Cargill are legally allowed to profit off of child slavery in Cote D'Ivoire. Abolish SCOTUS! Grrr. It's an utterly undemocratic institution whose primary function is to defend Capital. Only one justice dissented from the 8-1 decision allowing corporations to profit off child slavery. She is Sonia Sotomayor, born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents, the only good SCOTUS Justice. I tip my hat to her, she showed courage and did the right thing despite her colleagues' grotesque miscarriage of justice. Sonia can stay after we abolish SCOTUS. Secondly, I pay homage to Mike Gravel, who recently passed on at the age of 91. As a freshman Senator from Alaska in 1971, Gravel was the only person in the entire Senate with the balls to take custody of the top secret Pentagon Papers leaked by whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg. Gravel then spoke the Papers into the public record, risking imprisonment or worse. The Pentagon Papers were crucially important for the American anti-war movement, as they demonstrated, among other things, that the LBJ administration had "systematically lied, not only to the public but also to Congress" about the goings on in the Vietnam War. Gravel also bravely fought to prevent the Vietnam War draft, and did more than any other Alaskan Senator to improve the quality of life and access to education for Indigenous Alaskans. Rest in Power, Mike Gravel. Help the BNP stay on the air for as little as $1/month at www.patreon.com/noetics. Dan Kovalik is an author and human rights and labor lawyer. His most recent book is “No More War: How the West Violates International Law by Using ‘Humanitarian' Intervention to Advance Economic and Strategic Interests.” He joins us to talk about the Supreme Court siding with corporations Nestle and Cargill against six men who said they were trafficked as children to work as slaves in cocoa plantations in West Africa, how the court dismissed the case because they needed evidence stronger than “general decision making” in the US to link the foreign crime to US operations, and how globalized supply chains perpetuate a cycle of hyper exploitation. Esther Iverem, multidisciplinary author and independent journalist, host of "On The Ground: Voices of Resistance From the Nation's Capital" on Pacifica Radio, and founding member of DC Poets Against the War, joins us to talk about how mainstream media is reporting on an alleged surge in petty crimes like shoplifting and how they portray it as a major threat to the country, how this coverage is racialized and class-biased and how other crimes, like financial crimes by the wealthy, are not given the same focus.Jill Clark-Gollub, assistant editor at the Council of Hemispheric Affairs, talks to us about reports in the media about the arrests of opposition figures in Nicaragua by the government of Daniel Ortega, how this opposition is financed by U.S. soft power agencies like USAID, NED, and the NDI, and how these agencies are connected to the national security state, whose goals are not the advancement of democracy, but the advancement of U.S. interests globally.Steve Grumbine, founder and CEO of the nonprofits Real Progressives and Real Progress in Action and host of the podcast Macro n Cheese, joins hosts Michelle Witte and Bob Schlehuber to talk about how homeownership is becoming more difficult for people in the U.S., and how renting is being promoted after hedge funds have been purchasing a huge number of single family homes. We also talk about how the Juneteenth holiday has become a hot issue because of the alleged cost to taxpayers due to loss of productivity.
Trigger Warning: this episode talks about sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and slavery. 12 million people have watched the documentary “Caged until Broken: Life for Mumbai Prostitutes” - a series where one woman goes undercover to give voices to women who have been silenced, hidden, and exploited as human commodities. Every year, NGOs estimate that between 12,000 to 50,000 children are trafficked into India alone, and that does not include domestic trafficking within the country. This is a worldwide issue that is often overlooked. I am privileged to be speaking with the creator of that documentary, Hazel Thompson. She is a photojournalist and filmmaker who has shed light on a dark and hidden sub-culture of slavery and sex trafficking for almost two decades. Her book, “Taken” has highlighted the experiences of young girls forced into prostitution. Her work on social justice and human rights is widespread and essential to awareness for these women, children, and their stories. In this episode, Hazel shares her experiences of investigating the red-light district Kamathipura, in Mumbai, India. She touches on the stories of women and young girls who have been exploited in the sex industry, and the larger global implications that go unknown to people every day.

This week, the U.S. Supreme Court weighed whether Nestlé and Cargill can be held liable for supporting child slavery on African cocao farms, and heard another census case with big implications for congressional power. We’re breaking it all down on this week’s episode of The Term, plus ending with some highlights from a recent appearance by Justice Sonia Sotomayor on the Red Table Talk talk show hosted by Gloria Estefan.
Terry Collingsworth, executive director of International Rights Advocates, which sued Nestle USA and Cargill over the alleged child slavery used on cocoa plantations they buy from, joined Misfit hosts Bob Schlehuber and Michelle Witte to discuss that case’s journey to the Supreme Court, the labor abuses the case documents, and their efforts to confront and curtail the growing impunity of corporations.
Episode Notes This week we revisit an episode that originally aired on the C19 Podcast on 20 November 2018 as "'Modern Slavery'? How 19th Century Slavery Can Speak to 21st Century Trafficking." Can 19th-century approaches to slavery provide a map for thinking about 21st century trafficking? In this episode, Anna Mae Duane (UConn)leads a dialogue about how we can--and can’t--bring the nineteenth century to bear on the current phenomenon largely referred to as “Modern Slavery”--a term that is itself deeply controversial. The conversation centers around the edited collection, Child Slavery Before and After Emancipation: An Argument for Child-Centered Slavery Studies (Cambridge UP, 2017). Editor Anna Mae Duane interviews three contributors to that project, Karen Sánchez-Eppler (Amherst), Micki McElya (UConn) and Sarah Winter (UConn). Today, more than a quarter of the world’s slaves are children. These children are forced to commit commercial sex acts, forced into a system of domestic servitude or employed in occupations that are mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful. It's estimated that those children being enslaved bring in more than 100 billion dollars a year to their captors. Around the world, an influx in sex tourism, the insatiable demand for child pornography and greed play key roles in the prevalence of child sex slavery and trafficking. In addition to strangers, family and close friends have been known to sell children off to individuals, businesses and groups involved in the sex industry. Many of these children are born and bred into a cult like family where they are forced to engage in sexual acts with adults in order to bear children to continue building the family of slaves. Diana’s film Cathedral Canyon shed light into the underworld of the religious persecution of women in a rural polygamist community. I often see posts on social media of her team and their rescue efforts to help these young people escape the cult life in order to find a better life for themselves. Also joining us are two survivors who bravely share their stories about being in the FLDS cult and how they escaped; Sarah Taylor and Briel Decker. My guest on this episode of the Digital Supply Chain podcast is global influencer Tamara McCleary (aka @TamaraMcCleary on Twitter).Tamara is the CEO of Thulium (@Thuliumco on Twitter), a social media marketing agency focused on strategy and analytics.Tamara is also a good friend and knows the tech, and supply chain space upside down and inside out, so I was stoked when she agreed to come on the podcast. You can tell from the banter that we go back a long way. Tamara asks me probably as many questions as I asked her!We had a fun, wide-ranging conversation about the rise of consumer power, the increasing importance of customer experience, and how those topics impact on supply chains. Here's how the conversation broke down:00:26 Tamara, would you like to introduce yourself? 02:16 What are the principle advantages organisations can get from digitising their supply chains?03:42 Consumers have far more power now because we are living in a social media age…05:50 Will digital supply chain create an opportunity for manufacturing to go straight to the consumer?08:51 Customer experience story12:20 In this universe, we all now expect our goods to be delivered immediately, and we use this need for instant gratification to filter for suppliers…16:46 Increasingly we are becoming more aware of issues in suppliers supply chains, and reacting accordingly…20:06 More and more people are becoming aware of their supply chains and it is informing their purchasing decisions22:10 Companies that integrate social media into their supply chain have a vastly superior customer experience 26:00 What haven't we talked about that you'd like to mention, and if people want to connect with you of Thulium, where can they find you?

Kush + Kunal = KOOSAAALLL.We start with some time travel. And some meowing. Recap of Tania Rashid interview (EP13).Kunal talks about why the next interview almost destroyed his existence.Where we talk about vigorous snapping, puri thel fingers snapping. Erudite is the word of the day. INDIA BEATS PAKISTAN - is our cricket rivalry because of partition? Do cricket tickets cost a lost? Modi's statement on the win. Ria rant on Indian demonetization. Kunal is wearing Virat Kohli's kurta for his mendhi. India is looking for astronauts!!!! What are the prereqs for being an Indian Space Agency astronaut? What is freeze dried Indian food? HOW DO THEY SH*T INDIAN FOOD IN SPACE. Roti smoothies. Agni v Gaganyaan. India news. Kunal watched a documentary "The Price of Free" that really moved him, about Kailash Satyarthi and his fight against child slavery. Beyond the obvious lesson to learn, Kunal says we respect the wrong people (where are the "influencers" on this?). kunal won't cry in front of ria because he's a man. F*CK BUSINESS PEOPLE. ria got really mad at kunal (of course). The complexity of selling your child into slavery. Saving the kids isn't enough, the solution requires more. A "corporation" is a legal fiction, there are people behind it. Indian factories giving illegal medication to their workers, which is messing with their system. KUSH'S Q: Are people "supporting" causes for likes? Does posting and "raising awareness" help at all? (SURPRISE: Kunal has a cynical response). Everyone has a mental health issue, word? Trauma is trending. Very brief talk about Sudan. A little bit of mental evolution. How come every indian artist has to have "Jay/Jai/J" in their name?

Episode Notes This episode originally aired on the C19 Podcast on 20 November 2018 as "'Modern Slavery'? How 19th Century Slavery Can Speak to 21st Century Trafficking."Can 19th-century approaches to slavery provide a map for thinking about 21st century trafficking? Together they think about what constitutes a usable past when thinking about modern forms of oppression, and about how focusing on children can help us to rethink questions of property, memory, and freedom. The episode was produced by Ali Oshinskie with the support of WHUS studios. East Coast Radio — There is no avoiding the eyes of that small child who looks up at you through your car window at the traffic intersection - especially the little infant sitting in the blazing heat begging for money. Surely that’s enough to want to give the mother a few coins or some food? While trolling through social media this weekend, Damon came across a post by a woman named Katie Friedman in a Facebook group. Friedman, who's been living in Durban for three years now, shared her thoughts on why she doesn't give money to begging children. This sparked a debate amongst KZN listeners and Damon.
