The Auckland Tuatara suffered a heartbreaking 111–110 loss to the Taranaki Airs in a tightly contested Sal's NBL game in New Plymouth on Monday. The Auckland Tuatara have trounced the winless Indian Panthers 114-71 in their New Zealand NBL basketball game on the North Shore. Meanwhile, the Canterbury Rams defeated the Manawatu Jets 92-81 in Christchurch. This afternoon sees the Otago Nuggets take on the Wellington Saints at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin. The Auckland Tuatara will begin their fourth season competing in the Sal's NBL on Saturday night when they host the Franklin Bulls at Eventfinda Stadium. Their fourth attempt comes with some significant change for the organisation, who have appointed just their second coach in history in the form of ex-player Cam Gliddon and a brand-new management line-up to support him. New Zealand's only professional baseball club has entered liquidation. Auckland's Tuatara Baseball Franchise was unfortunately unable to survive both the pandemic and the recent weather events. Tuatara's CEO Regan Wood says that while the club was insured, they have yet to be paid out.
