It's only Adam Peacock and Michael Chammas in studio today as the duo dissect the fallout of Origin II! NSW's horrendous first-half is in the spotlight as poor discipline plus both Nathan Cleary & Payne Haas injuries affected the team. But what about Queensland?! A week of constant jabs from south of the border, backs against the wall, held on to force a massive decider! The boys look at Billy Slater, Aaron Woods and how we as a game cover the hype around Origin. And Chammas explains the difficulties of covering a story when the topic becomes very sensitive. But also... what's WA's media's problem with the NRL? A newspaper spread had an article on Slater next to advertisements for escort services?! Whilst the front page advertised "State of Origin" between Fremantle Dockers & Essendon Bombers! And major developments happening on the Northern Beaches as the future of Anthony Seibold continues to be questioned!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sean Bean, come sempre, va lungo...

To mark the passing of the great Gene Hackman, the writer and critic Sean T. Collins and the cartoonist and graphic novelist Julia Gfrörer are my special guests for a deep dive into one of our favourite films, Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation (1974).The Conversation was groundbreaking in terms of film editing; when Coppola was pulled away to direct The Godfather Part II, editor Walter Murch had to streamline a narrative out of an incomplete film shoot and synthesized new approaches to picture editing and sound design which he credited to studying Hackman's precise performance as the surveillance expert Harry Caul, a lonely middle-aged man whose Catholic guilt and past sins begins to weigh on his conscience as he obsesses over his latest spycraft job, plagued with worry over the fate of the young couple he's recorded and what the tape will be used for by his sinister corporate client. We discuss the autobiographical details Coppola lent to the characterization and Jungian psychoanalysis that can be applied to the content, some of our favourite moments, and how the themes of The Conversation continue to resonate with audiences over half a century later. Clare camogie boss John Carmody admits the concession of two early goals was the difference between the teams in yesterday's Division 1B decider. The Banner were unable to secure the title and promotion to the top tier, with Antrim coming away from Abbotstown with a 3-10 to 1-11 win. The Saffrons came out the blocks much the quicker, hitting two goals in the opening quarter before adding a third on the stroke of half time. Carmody says the Antrim goals came at the wrong time but admired his side's response to each setback.
Muppeturgy's Adam Grosswirth returns to talk about Shondaland's latest show for Netflix, The Residence, which takes us behind the scenes at the White House via a murder mystery -- but could the stellar cast make up for a too-long runtime and not-funny-enough writing? Do we have an Only Murders In The West Wing copycat problem? And should you bother watching? We went Around The Dial with The Righteous Gemstones, Smash on Broadway, and B-B-B-B-Bosch: Legacy's swan-song season, and Adam hoped he could train the panel to vote a first-season Murder, She Wrote into the Canon. Project Runway won, Netflix lost, and it came down to the wire in a very (equalizer) challenging Game Time. Grab that Audubon off the windowsill and have a listen! GUESTS

Is this the week Ireland take a huge step towards Six Nations history? The pod is back as we start the build-up to round four with Grand Slam winner Donncha O'Callaghan. What impact will the trio of retiring greats have? One man who will miss the France showdown is centre Garry Ringrose, but we lament the process that means he will only miss the one championship match. Plus, Felix Jones has a new job, there's a big departure at Leicester and we wrap up the PWR semi-finals.

Send us a textWelcome back, TOT fans! We are getting close to the title run in, with Liverpool holding a tenuous seven point lead over rivals Arsenal. The boys discuss all the games from the previous weekend, starting with the Spurs double over United. Turns out Anthony wasn't the problem, it was the Red Devils! Will Amorim make it through to next season? We don't mean sacked, we mean will he walk! Then we get into boring Liverpool, and the game of the season thus far in the Merseyside Derby. It was an incredible match and a fitting end to the rivalry at Goodison. We get into the other match ups and talk about Arsenal, and discuss how their lack of a 9 might affect their title hopes. After that, we get into the run in and look at some of the fixtures that could make or break the two teams fighting for the crown. Could the season come down to the May 10th meeting between the two? Before we wrap up with a preview of the games coming up, Asher asks the boys a "would you rather," score in an FA Cup Final, or a UCL Knockout game? We'd love to hear your take on the matter! Which would you choose? Thank you for listening and supporting us! Please like, subscribe, share, download, and as always, we love you!
When asked about the possibility of priesthood ordination for women in 1998, Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley famously told Larry King, “It would take another revelation to bring that about. I don't anticipate it.” Big changes have come following revelations in LDS history, but must prophetic revelation always precede change? Even on a local level, many leaders are hesitant to innovate in small ways. Natalie Brown posits that “not every small experiment should require prophetic sign off.” In Episode 211, she joins Cynthia and Susan for a conversation about how change happens—or doesn't—at church. Do debate and discussion have a place, and if so, whose opinions should be considered? And what about transparency in the decision-making process?

On his return to the White House this January, Donald Trump pledged to be a ‘peacemaker', after insisting during his campaign that he would bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours. Nearly three years into Russia's all out war on its neighbour, its brutal attacks continue – with incremental territorial gains coming at the costs of thousands of lives. Yet Ukraine's military still fights to hold the line. Has Trump really got the leverage to bring Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the table to sign a peace deal? In the latest episode of This Is Not A Drill, Oz Katerji discusses the future for Ukraine, Russia and US foreign policy with the US military's former commander in Europe, Lieutenant General (Retired) Ben Hodges. • Go to http://proton.me/notadrill to receive a 38% discount on Proton Mail • This episode of This Is Not A Drill is supported by Incogni, the service that keeps your private information safe, protects you from identity theft and keeps your data from being sold.
