Octopath Traveler is finally here and we carry through with our save into the game world itself. This game is long and it will be quite the journey but I think we're ready. Brett tries out the new Pokemon Go like game called The Walking Dead: Our World. It's similar in vein to Pokemon Go with a bit more time-gating. Finally, Austin is playing through The Banner Saga 2 in prep for The Banner Saga 3 at the end of July. In our news we talk about some of the major enhancements to Warframe, Shroud getting banned from PUBG for a month and the major updates to Fortnite with Season 5. Finally, our discussion has us looking back on the first half of 2018 with our top 3 games thus far. Then we look forward into the rest of 2018. There is a storm of new games coming and the crew shares their most anticipated games. Dane Batzel joins us again from Game Night Dallas for the podcast! WARNING: The Banner Saga 2 is a story-driven game. Certain plot points will be talked about. Major plot points from the first game are discussed. Such is life in a podcast where the point is to talk about what happens in video games. This week Rob Zacny and Fraser Brown talk about Banner Saga 2, the sequel to the Kickstarter darling that made a splash with its gorgeous graphics and brutal gameplay. The decisions are harder, the battles are more interesting, and lots of people still die.
Composer Austin Wintory talks about his score for The Banner Saga 2, and Patron of the Week Joey Thurmond talks about his favorite music from Bloodborne by Ryan Amon and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture by Jessica Curry. You can support Level with Emily Reese on Patreon.
This episode of SnG is 2 years in the making! We fell in love with The Banner Saga 1 way back in 2014 and the hotly anticipated sequel is finally out. Join us as we get into the nitty gritty of Stoic Studio's fantastic followup, The Banner Saga 2. We also drink a rare scotch, the Hazelburn, from Campbelton, a lesser known scotch region home to only 3 distilleries. Enjoy!
This week Chella and John head over to the local mead hall, also known as the GiN Lounge, load up their tankards and talk about their experiences playing the Banner Saga 2. Everyone seems to fall in love with this deeply beautiful game and its mix of combat, role-playing and storytelling. The post Marching with the Banner Saga 2 appeared first on Game Industry News.
¿Qué opinamos de The Banner Saga 2? Y por supuesto os contaremos las últimas noticias sobre Supergiant Games, el español Ghost o el (casi) interminable desarrollo de lo último de Inafune, Mighty nº9. ¡Os esperamos!
Drew (Design Analyst on Star Wars: The Old Republic, Writer and Designer on The Banner Saga, and Lead Writer on The Banner Saga 2) and Greg (Creative Director of Supergiant Games and Writer of Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre) call in to talk with us about the importance of being involved with the development process when you're a writer, worldbuilding, the writing process on Banner Saga 1 & 2, subtlety in games, how Supergiant decides on which game they're gonna make, writing as the most disposable of the creative disciplines, the divide between thinking something is good and what ends up shipping, storytelling structures, revising and never being comfortable in knowing how close you are from the finish line, the phrase 'We made the game we wanna play,' dealing with branching narratives, and the storytelling potential in fighting games. Our Guests on the Internet Drew's Twitter and Stoic's Twitter. Greg's Twitter and Supergiant's Twitter.
