I veckans avsnitt pratar vi om Forza Horizon 6, Disco Elysium-studions nya spel och om James Bond och hans långa träningsmontage. Både Jocke och Patrik har spelat Mina the Hollower och Adventures of Elliot. Dessutom blir det lite anime-snack och snack kring filmen Ladies First på Netflix.

Nach Disco Elysium gelingt es ZA/UM hier erneut, ein grandioses Rollenspiel mit einer interessanten Welt und einem etwas anderen Protagonisten zu kreieren. Diesmal spielen wir eine Spionin namens Hershel, welche auch wieder unter den Fehlern ihrer Vergangenheit leidet. Die ganze Geschichte entwickelt sich aber natürlich erst nach und nach. Es gibt 15 Fertigkeiten, welche wir nach Belieben skillen können, daraus ergeben sich teils andere Wege und Entscheidungen. Stets im Hinterkopf müssen wir Belastungen halten, denn sollten unsere drei Leisten Angst, Delirium oder Anstrengung zu hoch sein, verlieren wir Skillpunkte. Das Spiel und die Welt sind unfassbar spannend, man braucht allerdings ein wenig Zeit, um anzukommen.

Efter reklamen har Elisabeth försökt tvätta bort Disco Elysium-dammet från sina glasögon för att fördomsfritt titta närmare på spionthrillern Zero Parades. Anton trycker plattan i mattan och tar sig hela vägen till det förlovade landet i öst (ja, det är alltid Japan) i Forza Horizon 6. Susanne däremot verkar vilja ha det bästa av bägge världarna (spioner och resor) och har gett sig i kast med 007 First Light. We talk a bit about Esoteric Ebb, which is another game that shares some lineage with Zero Parades and Disco Elysium.  Finally, we talk a bit about our league starts for Path of Exile II, and how the early game is a real slog. Cette semaine, on commence par retrouver avec bonheur l'univers si particulier du studio tchèque Amanita Design avec leur premier jeu depuis 5 ans, Phonopolis. C'est sans doute leur titre le plus abouti, et les aventures de Felix, pleines de rencontres, de puzzles et de cartons, sont un enchantement. On continue avec Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, le nouveau jeu signé Za/um, ce qui peut déjà, en soi, laisser perplexe après les problèmes rencontrés par le studio après la sortie de Disco Elysium en 2019 (éviction des têtes d'affiche créatives du studio, dénonciations de comportements toxiques, etc.). Et de façon presque inattendue, Zero Parades réussit quand même à convaincre avec son histoire d'espionage maîtrisée et ses thématiques pertinentes. On termine avec Bubsy 4D, improbable jeu de commande confié au studio Fabraz basé sur une licence naufragée en 1996. Esoteric Ebb startet damit, dass wir (mutmaßlich ein Kleriker) ertrunken sind und dann wiederbelebt in einem Raum voller Äpfel aufwachen....klingt komisch, aber genau in diesem Stil geht das Spiel weiter. Es gibt zahllose Momente zum Schmunzeln und Lachen, die Fantasy-Welt und die Bewohner sind ziemlich abgedreht, dennoch beinhaltet die Story auch zeit aktuelle Themen, denn es steht eine Wahn an und wir müssen uns wohl oder übel auch festlegen, welcher der Parteien wir zugeneigt sind. Daneben müssen wir noch herausfinden, warum der örtliche Teeladen explodiert ist. Das Gameplay besteht dabei auch sehr vielen (inneren) Dialogen und Würfelproben. Die Parallelen zu Disco Elysium sind hier eindeutig zu erkennen, unsere Charaktereigenschaften kommentieren unsere Entscheidungen und wir würfeln auf sie. Dabei ist unsere Charakterentwicklung das, was unser Spiel lenkt, denn es gibt sechs Charaktereigenschaften, welche wir im Rollenspiel-Stil selber zusammenstellen und was dann unser Handeln beeinflusst. Ich hatte unfassbar viel Spaß dabei, man muss aber unbedingt gut englisch verstehen und auch Spaß am Lesen haben, denn es gibt keine deutschen Texte und keine Sprachausgabe.

Esoteric Ebb: bad name, great game. Jason, Kirk, and Maddy dive into this new Disco-like where you play as a cleric tasked with investigating the explosion of a tea shop in a fantasy world where the voices in your head are D&D attributes. It's a lot of fun.
