TUNE IN TO https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking to hear up to date Astro News You Can Use by Sheri Horn Hasan who discusses the deeper meanings of March's upcoming whirlwind of heavenly events! This podcast looks back at how the ideological fundamentalism of last month's Aquarius New Moon & Leo Full Moon square Uranus & Juno has shifted our major alliances. And how the February 27 Pisces New Moon planted seeds of greater empathy for those negatively affected by an idealistic Aquarian vision carried out in haste that's causing shifts in perspective & allegiances.Mars' station direct on February 23 has provided the martial impetus and the energy for our newly awakened inner warrior to rise up and take action to protect not only ourselves but those less able to defend & protect themselves. As it gains speed, however, Mars is currently giving us all even more reason to fight against the new U.S. administration's attempts to eliminate diversity, equity, & inclusion in its military & to decimate our legal & other governmental foundations. Mars' influence became obvious with the recent firings of the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a Black man & the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the first woman to hold the post and the first female member of the Joint Chiefs. Mars full speed ahead also resulted in the firing of three judge advocates general, also known as “JAGs”--who provide independent legal advice to senior military officers so that they do not run afoul of U.S. law or the laws of armed conflict. The danger here lies with the fact that the current commander in chief of the armed forces is Donald Trump, who during his last administration wanted to use the military to shoot Black Lives Matter protestors. He is now setting the stage to be able to do exactly that—next time protestors take to the streets. Then there's Venus stationing retrograde March 1 through April 12, when Venus will move back from Aries into Pisces. This is a period during which--according to Jungian astrologer Erin Sullivan in her book “Retrograde Planets”--we begin a time of global review. Between now and the inferior conjunction of the Aries Sun with Venus retrograde on March 22, & its heliacal rising March 28/29, is when “the reconsideration of what is diplomatic, & what is necessary to maintain a balanced world view & sense of integrity, is precisely what happens” to us both individually & collectively, Sullivan says. Both she and astrologer Bruce Scofield have predicted certain events may happen during this time—tune in to find out more!Mercury's entrance into Mars-ruled Aries March 3 adds some fuel to the fire of any backlash against what's happening now & what may occur during Venus's retrograde period. On March 11 the two will conjoin in Aries. Given that Mercury's communication & Venus rules finances, is it possible a budget reconciliation plan will be agreed upon & passed by the U.S. Congress before a looming shut down on March 14 when the first eclipse of the season hits? And might this budget plan cause even more distress as major portions of U.S. citizen's safety nets--be they Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, or simply your job as a federal employee or through a federally funded grant--be axed from the new budget? This podcast reviews also the deeper meaning of transiting Uranus in Taurus--as Venus, the current dispositor of Uranus, will retrograde through Mars-ruled Aries starting March 1—& we enter  a period of review of our core values. We discuss how Uranus in Taurus since 2018 has changed our relationships to others, to our work/jobs, to our resources over time, and how Uranus, the planet of unexpected change, is headed back to conjoin “off with his head” fixed star Algol circa May 4.It's clear that heads have been rolling all over the place--both globally & domestically. And that's been especially true since Uranus first came close to Algol last July & then, after its normal annual five month retrograde period since September 1, 2024, stationed direct on January 30. Will heads continue to roll until May? Or until the final Uranus/Algol meet-up in February 2026? Taking all bets now…For more on this & other important Astro News You Can Use, including the deeper meaning of the upcoming set of March eclipses, check out https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking when a new Karmic Evolution's Astrologically Speaking! podcast drops at 11 a.m. PT & 2 p.m. ET February 28. Our ancient ancestors recorded the rhythms of the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars, correlating these rhythms with weather, plant growth, and animal and human behaviors. From these early geocosmic recordings were born calendars, astronomy, and astrology. While astrology is now mostly viewed as subjective fortune-telling, Bruce Scofield argues that astrology is not only a practice but also a science, specifically a form of systems science--a set of techniques for mapping and analyzing self-organizing systems. Presenting a broad look at how the cosmic environment shapes nature, we talked about how the practice and natural science of astrology can expand its applications in modern society in such varied fields as medicine, history, and sociology.  Bruce shares modern biological and climatological studies on the effects of Earth's rotation, the Sun, the Moon, and the rhythms of light, gravity, magnetism, and solar radiation on terrestrial processes, and the early practice of astrometeorology, a method of weather forecasting used from ancient times into the Renaissance, revealing the links between the solar system, weather, and climate over large spans of time. He shares his own studies on the correlations between Saturn's position and terrestrial weather as well as presenting a wealth of evidence on astrological effects and the theories and mechanics behind them.

A contemporary and practical guide to Mayan astrological techniques• Discusses the logic and meaning of the 20 day-signs of the Mayan calendar• Explains the many cycles of Mayan astrology, such as the 9-day cycle of the Night Lords and the 13-day trecena• Contains extensive tables of Mayan astrological data, allowing readers to cast their own Mayan horoscopesHow to Practice Mayan Astrology presents a contemporary guide to one of the most sophisticated astrological systems ever developed. Like other ancient peoples, the Maya looked to the cycles of the planets as markers of time and designators of order. The predictable cycles they observed became codified in the Mayan calendar and astrological system as a way of organizing the seeming chaos of human life.Mayan astrology is based on 20 named days that are cycled 13 times to create a 260-day calendar, the Tzolkin. The authors explain the symbolism, logic, and meaning of the 20 day-signs; how these signs reflect 260 possible personality types; and how they can be used for divination. They also explain the important role of the Four Directions and the planet Venus in one's personality matrix and life issues. Included are extensive, easy-to-use tables of Mayan astrological data, allowing readers to determine their day-signs, to see how these signs are also influenced by the cycle of the Night Lords and the 13-day trecena, and to cast their own horoscopes.BRUCE SCOFIELD is the author of seven books on astrology, including Day-Signs: Native American Astrology from Ancient Mexico and Signs of the Time: An Introduction to Mesoamerican Astrology. He has been a practicing astrologer since 1969 and lives in Amherst, Massachusetts. Barry C. Orr is a software developer who designed some of the early computer programs used by technical astrologers. He is coauthor, with Bruce Scofield, of the Maya-Aztec Astro Report, a software program that identifies personality delineations based on the Mayan calendar.
