Long before modern cities and towns covered Nebraska's landscape, the land held secrets of communities that finessed their environments with skill, creativity, and resilience. While Nebraska might not have boasted ancient metropolises like those found in Mexico or Illinois, it quietly housed sophisticated village societies whose existence we can glimpse today through scattered remains and archaeological clues. These settlements offer a rare insight into a human story where innovation and adaptation were key to survival on the open prairie.

In this episode, I talk with legendary researcher and author Andrew Collins, to unravel the mysteries of one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 21st century—Karahan Tepe. This ancient site, older than Göbekli Tepe, is rewriting history, revealing the origins of the world's first post-Ice Age civilization and its deep connection to the cosmos.Andrew takes us deep into the intricate carvings, shamanic symbolism, and astronomical alignments that define Karahan Tepe, showing how its builders—remembered as the Watchers, Nephilim, and Anunnaki—designed this complex to function as an initiatory spiritual gateway. We explore its profound connection to the Milky Way's Galactic Bulge, the cosmic serpent motif woven throughout human history, and how the site's enigmatic structures may have served as a portal between worlds. We also dive into Andrew's groundbreaking discovery in Egypt, known as Collins' Caves. Hidden beneath the Giza Plateau, this extensive cave system may hold the key to unlocking even more secrets of our ancient past. We discuss the implications of this find, its potential links to the lost Hall of Records, and what these underground passages reveal about the forgotten history of Egypt. What did the ancients know about the stars and the forces beyond our perception? Were the builders of Karahan Tepe and the architects of Giza tapping into something greater—an ancient technology or a lost spiritual science? Join me and Andrew Collins as we dive into these questions and more, uncovering the secrets of sites that could redefine our understanding of human origins. Welcome back to Higher Density Living. This episode delves into the mysteries surrounding ancient sacred sites could be remnants of a forgotten worldwide civilization hosted by Jason Rigby. We are joined by special guest Camille Sauvé, she is known for her exploration in the fascinating work of Peruvian researcher Alfredo Gamarra, known for identifying three distinct architectural styles representing three ancient world ages. By connecting these styles to sacred sites globally, Sauvé paints a picture of an advanced culture that once spanned the earth. Combining insights from famous clairvoyants and modern scientific research, "The Sorcerers of Stone" reveals that many of these sacred sites are far older than previously believed. These monoliths feature perfectly carved terraces, massive steps, and intricate underground grottos, often with characteristics that defy scientific explanation. Sauvé discusses how these structures, revered by subsequent civilizations, might have been constructed using sophisticated techniques like acoustic levitation and ancient geopolymers. She also explores their placement on earth's power spots and their significant piezoelectric properties due to high quartz and silica content. Sauvé introduced a wide range of concepts and ideas helpful to make sense of the mysteries surrounding the theories behind these peculiar structures. The book entails the mysteries of ancient architecture and forgotten civilizations. This captivating work explores the concept of a long-lost global culture through the lens of three distinct architectural styles found in sacred sites worldwide, each representing different world ages. Sauvé delves into the Cosmogony of the Three Worlds, examining how these three distinct styles reflect unique cultural epochs and are tied to the Expanding Earth Timeline. The book provides an in-depth analysis of the advanced science behind these ancient stone constructions. It explores whether techniques like Acoustic Levitation and the use of Geopolymers were employed to move and shape these massive monoliths. Additionally, Sauvé investigates the potential use of Vitrification in these structures and the intriguing role of sound in healing and sacred rites, particularly within Initiation Chambers designed to induce altered states. She also mentions Rending the Veil: Visions from the Akashic, drawing upon the insights of clairvoyants like Rudolf Steiner, Madame Blavatsky, and Subramuniya, who accessed ancient knowledge through the Akashic records. This section provides a unique perspective on the spiritual and esoteric significance of these ancient sites and the cultures that built them. Finally, Sauvé reexamines our historical narrative, presenting Stone Oddities and Tales of Lost Worlds that challenge conventional archaeology. She highlights examples of Hanan and Uran Pacha sites around the globe, offering compelling evidence of their existence and significance. By weaving together these diverse threads, the book invites readers to reconsider our understanding of history and the remarkable achievements of early human civilizations. And that's what we're going to get in today. Sauvé delves deep into their technical sophistication, their potential uses, and the burning question, this mystery that we've all wanted to know. It's who created these awe-inspiring structures. When visiting Peru, especially around Cusco and Sacsayhuaman, you notice three distinct styles of stonework. The earliest style, known as huaca, often appears as if fingerprints have pressed into the stone, forming canals and various shapes. The official narrative attributes this to stone, bronze, or copper tools, but this explanation seems insufficient given the hardness of the metamorphosed limestone. Today, it might have been a geopolymer, which hardens over time, and its chemical composition includes limestone. From extensive observations, it's clear these forms likely resulted from press forms and seats in a different state, rather than being carved with bronze or copper tools, which would be too soft. The precise 90-degree angles and fine grooves suggest advanced techniques beyond the Inca Empire's capabilities. These constructions, found throughout Peru, hint at an advanced, possibly worldwide civilization. It's fascinating how mysterious megalithic sites appear in Japan, China, Italy, and more, suggesting a widespread ancient civilization. The timeline, explored through the Akashic records by figures like Rudolf Steiner, Madame Blavatsky, and Edgar Cayce, provides insights. Steiner described environments from the Lemurian time with huge fern trees, a hot climate, and larger mammals and reptiles. The Lemurians, masters of stonework, lived on a much warmer, less dense planet, which facilitated their ability to form stone. Accounts from Spanish chroniclers reveal that the Inca themselves claimed to have discovered these sites, not built them. Locals chronicle the structures predated their ancestors, attributing them to a god called Wiracocha. When the Spanish arrived in Peru, they encountered advanced constructions like the walls at Sacsayhuaman and attributed them to sorcerers, as they couldn't fathom how the locals could have built them with their tools. This was recorded by chroniclers who asked the locals about the builders, and they often pointed to Wiracocha, a god believed to have created many significant sites. Oral traditions and local knowledge continue to play a vital role in understanding these sites. Many guides and locals still speak of Wiracocha, who is said to have taught humanity how to cultivate crops, build structures, and essentially civilize them. Some legends even suggest that these advanced beings came from underground or another galaxy, with Lake Titicaca as a central base. The concept of the planet being smaller and less dense, as described by Jesus and Alfredo Gamarra through dreams and meditations, aligns with the idea of an Earth that expanded over time. This smaller Earth, referred to as the Golden Age, might date back around 200 million years, a time when proto-humanity existed in a more gaseous state before crystallizing. Such ideas, while far from mainstream scientific thought, resonate with theosophical teachings about early humanity. Personal experiences at these sites, such as a small cave near the Moon Temple complex, often involve intense energy and altered states of consciousness. These locations, considered sacred, might be built on geomagnetic lines, enhancing their mystical properties. Despite the lack of scientific acknowledgment in Peru, the concept of ceques or leylines is well-known, with 328 huacas found along these lines radiating from the sun temple in Cusco. Megalithic sites worldwide were constructed with materials like quartz-rich stone, which, combined with electromagnetic energies, can create altered states of consciousness. These sites, built with a deep understanding of earth energies, were likely intended for more than just primitive worship. The precise and advanced nature of the construction suggests a civilization with profound knowledge of how to harness these energies for the benefit of humanity. Certain sites, such as Qenko, appear to have been used for initiation rituals, where candidates would undergo transformative experiences, potentially involving psychoactive substances, to learn about the non-physical aspects of reality. These initiatory journeys, often aligned with celestial events like Venus rising, indicate a sophisticated understanding of both the physical and metaphysical worlds. The advanced stonework and the profound energy of these sites point to an ancient civilization with a deep understanding of earth energies and consciousness. While more scientific research is needed, especially in Peru, to fully understand these sites, they undeniably hold keys to our past and offer insights into the advanced capabilities of ancient civilizations. About the Guest: Camille M. Sauvé is an independent journalist, photographer, graphic designer, and author living in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru. She has spent hundreds of hours researching and personally exploring Peru's enigmatic archaeological sites, their technical sophistication, possible uses, and who was responsible for their creation. Tracing ancestry through the motherline, this week's guest Sylvia V. Linsteadt introduces listeners to the world of matrilineal myth and wisdom. For Sylvia, story and myth are very much alive and can offer valuable insight especially as we consider what it means to inhabit a place. From stories of female monks, to the practical wisdom of weaving, to the veneration of The Virgin Mary, Sylvia reminds us of what it means to value the feminine. Throughout the episode, Sylvia and Ayana consider questions at the very foundation of our cultures. Winding through questions of patriarchy, religion, and violence, Ayana and Sylvia do not find singular answers, but rather a wisdom that arises from questioning the things that are deeply enmeshed in our culture. As we reckon with a violent and troubling world, how can we turn to stories that guide us to liberation? Sylvia Linsteadt is a writer and certified wildlife tracker from northern California, ancestral Coast Miwok territory. She currently lives in Devon, England. Her work—both fiction and non-fiction—is rooted in myth, ecology, ancient history, feminism & bioregionalism, and is devoted to broadening our human stories to include the voices of the living land. She is the author of the collections The Venus Year and Our Lady of the Dark Country, two novels for young readers, The Wild Folk and The Wild Folk Rising, and the post-apocalyptic folktale cycle Tatterdemalion with painter Rima Staines. Her nonfiction books include The Wonderments of the East Bay, and Lost Worlds of the San Francisco Bay Area, which won the 2018 Northern California Book Award for best general nonfiction. She is currently finishing a novel set in Bronze Age Crete, where she has lived and researched extensively. Sylvia also teaches occasional myth-oriented creative writing workshops, and shares her work out loud on her podcast Kalliope's Sanctum.Music by The New Runes. AS THE 19TH CENTURY ENDED, THE AIRPLANE, GASOLINE ENGINE, AND OTHER ADVANCES MADE THE WORLD A BIT SMALLER. Explorers and adventurers pushed into uncharted territories and made great discoveries. Returning to their homeland, they congregated with others of a similar nature and swapped stories and shared the artifacts they'd found. In London, New York, San Francisco and other cities, explorers' clubs were founded for these intrepid souls to delight their peers. Lost Worlds Brewing Company borrows from the history of these original clubs. Listen in as we explore what makes Lost Worlds a unique experiential outpost of beer and adventure.

Dr. Barnhart has worked in Mexico and Central America for the last 25 years as an archaeologist, an explorer and an instructor. During his four years as the student of Dr. Linda Schele (world renowned for finally breaking the Maya code of hieroglyphics in 1973) he developed a strong background in Maya hieroglyphics, iconography and archaeoastronomy. From 1998 to 2000 he was the Director of the Palenque Mapping Project, an archaeological survey that discovered over 1000 new structures in the Maya ruins of Palenque. He received his Ph.D. in Anthropology at The University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and is now the Director of the Maya Exploration Center, a non-profit research center based in Austin, Texas and Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. In 2013 his 24-lecture Great Courses series entitled “Lost Worlds of South America” was released and very well received. Based on its success, he returned to the Great Courses studios in 2014 to produce a 48-lecture series entitled ":Maya to Aztec: Ancient Mesoamerica Revealed". His latest Great Courses series, released in July of 2018, is titled "Ancient Civilizations of North America". He is currently investigating archaeoastronomy and ancient geometry in the ruins of Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Ever since Sylvia was a little girl, she's always read and written stories and was very drawn to old myths and ancient cultures, almost wanting to embody them through her writing as her way into them. For the longest time, she considered her writing fantasy, separated from her sense of embodied participation with the Earth and with life along with a fear to connect these two worlds. However, her writing became her intuitive channel as it opened her process and molded her 20s slowly as she studied animal tracking, wanting to reflect the land around her from a more than human perspective. Animal tracking taught her this language to listen deeply into the land that she was in. As she continued her studies, things started to weave in intuitively as it does with creative work to a place that she couldn't really articulate or speak to. Unfortunately (or rather fortunately), a painful experience called her to the island of Crete, opening her consciousness of her own relationship to her intuition, connecting something, and initiating her process of remembering. Sylvia Linsteadt is a writer, artist, and certified animal tracker. She has authored books such as “Our Lady of the Dark Country”, the award-nominated middle grade fantasy duology “The Wild Folk” and “The Wild Folk Rising”, the novel “Tatterdemalion”, and an award-winning collection of essays entitled “Lost Worlds of the San Francisco Bay Area”. Professor Christine Ferguson visits the cabin to discuss the later adventures of Professor Challenger! In 1925, Arthur Conan Doyle's serialisation of 'The Land Of Mist' began in the Strand magazine. This novel was the author's great attempt to make his decades-long interest in spiritualism palatable to the widest audience possible. Did he succeed? Did he portray the world of 1920s London accurately? And why did he choose Professor Challenger, the maverick of the scientific world, to play the stodgy establishment character? All this and more, in The Mists Clear Away! Includes: -All about the Edinburgh Edition of The Land Of Mist -Arthur Conan Doyle's own spiritualism -Why did ACD turn to Professor Challenger for his great spiritualist novel? -Spiritualism as a specifically feminine or masculine movement? -Challenger as the Establishment, rather than the Maverick -ACD's use of real-life Belfast researcher William Jackson Crawford -ACD's actual apocalyptic spiritualist messages -Lord John Roxton goes ghost-hunting! Pre-Hispanic City and National Park of PalenqueA prime example of a Mayan sanctuary of the classical period, Palenque was at its height between AD 500 and 700, when its influence extended throughout the basin of the Usumacinta River. The elegance and craftsmanship of the buildings, as well as the lightness of the sculpted reliefs with their Mayan mythological themes, attest to the creative genius of this civilization. The archaeological site of Palenque in the state of Chiapas is one of the most outstanding Classic period sites of the Maya area, known for its exceptional and well conserved architectural and sculptural remains. The elegance and craftsmanship of the construction, as well as the lightness of the sculpted reliefs illustrating Mayan mythology, attest to the creative genius of this civilization. The city was founded during the Late Preclassic, which corresponds to the beginning of the Christian era. Its first inhabitants probably migrated from other sites in the nearby region. They always shared the cultural features which define the Maya culture, as well as a level of development that allowed them to adapt to the natural environment. After several centuries, ca. 500 A.D., the city rose to be a powerful capital within a regional political unit. Without a buffer zone the total area of the archeological site is 1780 hectares, 09 areas and 49 square meters and 1,400 buildings have been recorded, of which only about 10% have been explored.Palenque has been the object of interest of numerous travelers, explorers and researchers since the 18th century. It illustrates one of the most significant achievements of mankind in the American continent. The ancient city has a planned urban layout, with monumental edifices and some of the largest clearings found in all the Maya area. Numerous residential areas with habitation units, funerary, ritual and productive activity areas were placed around the administrative and civic ceremonial centre. The palencano style is unique for its high degree of refinement, lightness and harmony. It includes buildings with vaulted roofs upon which pierced crestings emphasized its height. Its architecture is also characterized by its interior sanctuaries and modeled stucco scenes found on its freezes, columns, walls, crests, as well as ogival vaults, vaulted halls connecting galleries and T-shaped windows, among other unique architectural features. The sophisticated architectural designs and the rich decoration reflect the history and ideology of the ruling class and incorporate the writing and calendaric systems. The architecture of the site is integrated in the landscape, creating a city of unique beauty.Maya Exploration Center Director Dr. Ed Barnhart has almost three decades of experience as an archaeologist, an explorer and an instructor. He is a Fellow of the Explorers Club, has published many papers, and appeared in over a dozen documentaries about ancient civilizations. His involvement in Maya studies began in 1990 as an archaeological intern in the ruins of Copan, Honduras. In January of 1996 he was invited to return to Copan and help the University of Pennsylvania excavate the early acropolis and the tomb of the city's lineage founder. From 1992-1995 he had been studying art, iconography and epigraphy (hieroglyphic translation) under the late Dr. Linda Schele at the University of Texas at Austin. During that same time he worked across the State of Texas as a contract archaeologist. In 1994 he began working as a surveyor and a UT field school instructor in the jungles of Northwestern Belize. After finding numerous small villages, Dr. Barnhart discovered the ancient city of Ma'ax Na (Monkey House), a major center of the Classic Maya Period. He mapped over 600 structures at Ma'ax Na between 1995 and 1997 before moving his research focus to Chiapas, Mexico. Also while in Belize, Dr. Barnhart worked with the Belize Post Classic Project mapping the island of Caye Coco and excavating a series of burials on an island in Laguna de On.Dr. Barnhart received his Masters degree in May of 1996 and began teaching Anthropology classes at Southwest Texas State University the following September. He taught Archaeology and Anthropology classes at SWTS until 1998 when he was invited by the Mexican government to direct the Palenque Mapping Project. The Palenque Mapping Project was a three-year effort to survey and map the unknown sections of Palenque's ruins. Over 1100 new structures were documented, bringing the site total to almost 1500. The resultant map has been celebrated as one of the most detailed and accurate ever made of a Maya ruin. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 with his dissertation entitled The Palenque Mapping Project: Settlement Patterns and Urbanism in An Ancient Maya City (PDF).In 2003 Dr. Barnhart founded Maya Exploration Center and since that time has organized and led over 200 study abroad programs for students around the globe. He has appeared on History Channel, Discovery, Japanese Public Television and multiple independent documentaries. In 2012 he completed a 24-lecture video series for The Great Courses entitled "Lost Worlds of South America." Then in 2014 he was invited back to record a 48-lecture series called "Maya to Aztec: Ancient Mesoamerica Revealed". His third Great Courses series, "Ancient Civlizations of North America" came out in the summer of 2018. All three series have recieved almost nothing but 5-star reviews.
Practiced, sung and recorded through the winter solstice, new moon and now the edge of Christmas, as the Virgin Mary swells with child and comes to the eve of birth, I offer into this moment of celestial light and earthly dark a faithful rendition of the old Scottish borderland folk ballad Tam Lin (Child Ballad 39), accompanied and mixed by my brother Simon Linsteadt on guitar. You can read a full essay about our version of this song, it's musical history (with nods to Scottish folk singer Archie Fisher, as well as Frances Child himself) and reflections on the story itself(with a synopsis too, don't worry!) here: https://sylviavlinsteadt.substack.com/p/tam-lin#details ABOUT THE PODCAST: Welcome to Kalliope's Sanctum, a story podcast hosted by writer Sylvia V. Linsteadt. This podcast is dedicated to Kalliope, primordial and first Muse of epic poetry and ecstatic song in ancient Greece. This podcast is a place of sanctuary for her oldest stories. It is a return to the wild garden, to the spring, to the ground of being & the source of inspiration in the Earth. Here, we honor Kalliope as Muse of Earth. Here, you will find some of the stories beneath the stories of Old Europe: short fictional/poetic pieces written and read by Sylvia that explore elements of indigenous Old European mythology, with a focus on pre-Hellenic (pre-Patriarchal) Greece. Come sit with us in the honeyed light, among the ripe pomegranates, in Kalliope's sanctuary, where the stories that arise directly from the ground of being and lifeforce can still be safely told and celebrated. Come lean against the sun-warmed stones, with the fragrance of propolis & myrrh in the air, and the trees heavy with autumn quince. This is the garden before the fall, a sanctuary for all hearts in this time. Join us, and be revived. ABOUT SYLVIA V. LINSTEADT: Sylvia V. In Digging up Ancient Aliens, our host Fredrik uses his background in archaeology to discover what is genuine, fake, and somewhere in between on the TV show Ancient Aliens. This time we're going to find what once was lost. We're looking into what Ancient Aliens believe to be lost worlds and trying to find out if that's the case or if there could be another explanation. This time we will visit the city of Copán located in Honduras, according to some theories, there's evidence in some statutes of alien visitation. We continue to Nemrud Dagi, where we look into astronomy and explain the origin of the three wise men of the New Testament. We continue to Rappa Nui where we look into the creation and movement of the Moai statues and a strange cult dedicated to the manutara. Lastly, we will see if the origin of humans might have been in the Persian Gulf. With the latest research, skepticism, and critical thinking, we will find the true origin of our past. Morning Star Woman & Ivan the Youngest Son is, in its original bones, my own telling of the Russian fairytale "The Maiden Tsar," as explored by Robert Bly and Marion Woodman in their book The Maiden King. I will admit, however, that I've taken it and run with it. You will see flashes as far afield as the Fisher King of Arthurian legend, and admittedly a few further too. And you will see that its Maiden Tsar, its swan queen, became merged with my imaginings of Venus in her recent descent below the rim of the horizon, out of sight, in mid-September, as if Venus's passage through the underworld were the story of a woman coming down to earth, becoming human. Today she meets the heart of the Sun, and begins climbing toward evening. So this is a story of swan women and eggs and fishermen, of wise old men in huts and the oldest woman in the world who lives in the moon; of how to mend broken things; of learning how to love, and love well. It is a prayer for fatherlines and motherlines and heartlines, a prayer for all the people I love, a prayer for the women and men in the streets of Iran standing and fighting for their freedom and the radiance of their lives, a prayer for something we perhaps all together have nearly forgotten, a prayer for what we cannot afford to lose, together on this Ark, our holy ground, our home. In my introduction, I mention the release of a new collection of mine that steps deeper into the movements of Venus as well as my own heart. On this episode of #WeNeedToTalk, Malynda chats with New York Times Best Selling Author Eleanor Herman about her latest book Off with Her Head. They explore the history of misogyny, how it shows up is everyday society, the hypocrisy of reactions towards men, how participation in one "ism" usually means participation in other, and how we as a society can begin to break down misogyny. Eleanor Herman is the New York Times bestselling author of Sex with Presidents, Sex with Kings, Sex with the Queen, and several other works of popular history. She has hosted Lost Worlds for the History Channel, The Madness of Henry VIII for the National Geographic Channel, as well as a second season of America: Fact vs. Fiction for the American Heroes Channel. Her latest offering, OFF WITH HER HEAD uses Herman's signature wit and sharp eye to oust the unsettling pattern of misogyny impeding female leadership worldwide.

The American writer and thinker Victoria Nelson is justly revered by afficionados of the Weird for The Secret Life of Puppets and its follow-up Gothicka. Both are masterful explorations the supernatural as it subsists in the "sub-Zeitgeist" of the modern secular West. In 2021, Strange Attractor Press released Neighbor George, Nelson's first novel. In this episode, JF and Phil discuss this gothic anti-romance with a mind to seeing how it contributes to Nelson's overall project of acquainting us with the eldritch undercurrents of contemporary life.
