The cost of running this site, let alone all the channels of which to create our arts without much qualms, if any really, or monetary issuance has proven to be an insurmountable affair as is. But I refuse to buckle or bribe or barter with the great machine, and have taken the heavy toll and burden to internalize why financial independence isn't afforded from these ventures alone. That probably isn't healthy either, yet I persist. After wilderness years spent toiling and tinkering with ways to charge the current, it has become all-too apparent that the livestream's capabilities of creating wholly intentional transmissions and 'third spaces' of performance, sermon and vexation without appeasing rent-mad venues, other people's intentions or allowance of artificial intelligence slop could nominally be achieved through the art magick adherence to the liminalstream transmission. And what better to initiate a new experimental era of a wide-spectrum of dipsatches than under this excitingly rare fire stellium currently transiting? Due to my increasingly laborious schedule largely spent away from the Dimming Room, it became all too apparent that my way through with keeping consistent tithes to ongoing projects, lifting connected artists and We The Hallowed haunts, and growing the burgeoning patreon base to hopefully one day not need to suffer so much survival in this monolithic capitalist nightmare structure, allow the liminalstream a wonderful spectrum of highly intentional, heavily produced to topic based, low-tech dispatches from the sacred antenna of the PRAGMAGICK broadckast current. For no discernable reason I was run ragged with technical issues throughout the premiere that I still have no calcuable way to avoid in the future, nor way to discern much of why two separate computers used for streaming fell due to never-before-seen internal errors, let alone the spiritbox actually breaking right after I had recovered the stream and was ready to push on! Alas, so many lessons learned that stream, one of which is that trying a huge array of objectives within one stream is not only suboptimal tech wise, but performance and demeanor-wise as acting host, producer and performer is far too hectic oversee whilst allowing the artistic heteronym to control this vehicle performing musick, initiate meditative videomancy sessions and tap into the gibber-gabber needed to monologue to an audience concerning all the intentions therein! Not only were there obscure and completely unfounded tech issues on the digital plane, but in the physical my spirit box literally broke right before the ritual tells me that I was radiating an unseen reckless energy like statick discharge from ungrounded finger tips. You see, this is a long-storied issue with my performances, and another reason I'm attempting to get the sea legs of confident performance through these liminalstreams; I know I'm radiating, emanating, manifesting a nervous energy that is poisonous to electrical currents. Intuitively, I know it's me. If only I had performed the intended current cleanse at the top of the show and rested my gheiszt a bit before spelunking into a deluge of wild sessions within one stream! And it's not looking good for them—assuming we, the people, can stand together against such a tyrannical regime that's killing people in the streets, & detaining, jailing, & deporting others without due process. EMPOWERMENT VERSUS DISEMPOWERMENTEmpowerment becomes the word of this coming week as Venus, Mercury, the Sun, & Mars all conjoin with Pluto in Aquarius between January 19 & 27—especially since we may hear another (potentially surprising) announcement by the powers that be when the Sun conjoins Mercury in Aquarius between now & January 21.This sets off new synodic cycles which will eventually reach their peaks when Venus in Leo opposes Pluto on June 17, & the Sun follows suit July 26. Mercury does so on August 11, while the one to watch is the Mars opposition to Pluto in Aquarius on October 3. This lunation highlights the polarity between care and control, nourishment and authority, feeling and responsibility. The Moon is strong in her home sign and conjunct Sirius, the spiritual Sun, heightening intuition, emotional truth, and higher guidance. Within hours, the Moon joins Jupiter in Cancer, amplifying compassion, emotional wisdom, and the potential for healing. The night sky is filled with monsters. And none are more fearsome than the Gorgons – three sisters who were so hideous that a single glance at them turned the observer to stone. One of them was beheaded by Perseus the hero. His constellation shows him holding the head, which is outlined by four stars – the Gorgons. In mythology, two of the sisters were immortal. But the third, Medusa, was not. Perseus managed to lop off her head with the help of the gods. They gave him an invisibility cloak, a diamond sword, and a bronze shield. He could safely view the Gorgons by looking at their reflection in the shield. Perseus used Medusa’s head to destroy the sea monster, Cetus, which was about to kill the princess Andromeda. Cetus and Andromeda have their own constellations, as do Andromeda’s parents. The brightest star in Medusa’s head is Algol – a name that means “head of the demon.” It’s low in the northeast in early evening and climbs high across the sky later on. The other Gorgons form an arc to the right of Algol. One is fairly easy to spot, while the other two require a darker sky. All four of the Gorgon stars are bigger, heavier, and brighter than the Sun. Algol is a couple of hundred light-years away, while the other three are about a hundred light-years farther. The Gorgons form a demonic presence in the sky – shining down on Halloween weekend. I don't believe I've been able to tend to these currents since the This transmission was a nightmare to cobble together—not because of any of the subject matter directly (although I'm sure the combined eclipse resonances discussed carry some blame), and not because of any prodcuction issues in creating its segments—but because of the tundra of confluences (beyond just the eclipses) and the heavy somatick staticks abound bore a sore stasis. It was tethered together on the nape of a new head's growth, and it may be discernable through the ramshackle technomantik issues apparent in the final draft. Amidst sacrificing a 5-year hard-won atmosphere into boxes and trunks fit for bigger and brighter while punching the malkuthian timeenergy captital-suckage of a tireless work/life balance is reason enough for the silence as of late, but I couldn't simply arrange this bric-a-brac episode together without some form of mercurian grump-glitch throwing a bone at every plan laid. Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) continues to impress observers, while Comet SWAN (C/2025 R2) offers a fainter but rewarding binocular challenge. The Leonid meteor shower peaks on November 17th and 18th under dark, moonless skies, with about a dozen meteors per hour expected. In space news, SpaceX achieved another milestone with the successful dual splashdowns of Starship and its booster during Flight 11. This month's lunar feature is Gassendi Crater, a striking, terraced impact crater on the edge of Mare Humorum.The Deep Sky Tour focuses on Perseus, high in the eastern sky on November evenings. Algol does something amazing. Every 2.9 days, the star fades to just one-third of its usual brightness. In centuries past, the stars were thought to be unchanging. A star that changed so blatantly was a bit scary. So it was given a name to match: “Algol” comes from an Arabic phrase that means “head of the demon.” But the star’s odd behavior isn’t scary it all – Algol fades as the result of eclipses. The system consists of three stars. Two of them form a tight binary. The members of the binary orbit each other once every 2.9 days. We see the system edge-on, so the two stars eclipse each other. One star is much brighter than the other. When the fainter star crosses in front of it, the system fades dramatically. When the bright star covers up the faint one, though, the difference is tiny – much too subtle to see with the eye alone. Astronomers have cataloged hundreds of eclipsing binaries. And the eclipses are important. They reveal the relative sizes and masses of the two stars, details about their orbit, and more. So there’s nothing to fear from these up-and-down star systems. Algol is low in the northeast at nightfall, in Perseus. It should be at its brightest tonight. The faint part of its cycle will happen during daylight for the next few cycles. It’ll be visible during nighttime later in the month. Sometimes, a star can change brightness all on its own, and we’ll have more about that tomorrow. Script by Damond Benningfield
Xi Persei doesn’t look all that imposing. The star shines at fourth magnitude, so it’s visible under dark skies, but not from cities and towns. But that’s only because it’s a long way off – about 1200 light-years. In reality, it’s one of the most impressive stars visible to the human eye. Perseus climbs the eastern sky on autumn evenings. It consists of a couple of ribbons of stars that join at Mirfak, the constellation’s leading light. And it contains the most famous variable star in the sky: Algol, the Demon Star, which fades and brightens every three days. Yet neither can compare with Xi Persei, which is near the bottom of the longer ribbon. At visible wavelengths, it’s about 13,000 times brighter than the Sun. But it’s tens of thousands of degrees hotter than the Sun, so it emits most of its light in the ultraviolet. When you add that in, Xi Persei is a quarter of a million times the Sun’s brightness. The key to that showiness is the star’s mass – roughly 30 times the Sun’s mass. At that great heft, gravity squeezes its core tightly, revving up its nuclear engine. Energy works its way to the surface, making Xi Persei hot and bright. Before long, it’ll get even hotter and brighter. It’ll explode as a supernova, briefly shining brighter than billions of normal stars – a brilliant demise for an impressive star. BEST OF: A recent article form the New York Time compared AI to the shoggoth of H.P. Lovecraft - monstrous beings of black protoplasm, bred as slaves that eventually develop brains of their own. An article from 2017 in MIT Technology Review compared AI to the black cube of Saturn. AI is also really good at doing one specific thing and that is creating Lovecraftian monsters. In the Watchmen comicbook series, Adrian Veidt, also known as Ozymandias, attempts to unite the US and USSR against a common enemy to avoid nuclear war. As opposed to the movie version wherein Doctor Manhattan is scapegoated, in the comic Adriam Veldt used advanced genetic engineering technology to create a giant monster from outer space. The monster is a squid, and as the plan proceeds he teleports the monster through a gateway into New York City. A 2022 promotion for the show Stranger Things lit up the Empire State building, along with others around the world, with a portal to the Upside Down. The recent wildfires from Canada that dumped smoke and particulate on New York City create a background similar to the tv show promotion. In fact, the ad this time was for the game Diablo IV. It feature the Queen of Succubi, Lilith, with a caption and date that read “Welcome to Hell, New York” - 6/6/23. New York is also home to a Ruth Bader Ginsburg statue featuring Lilith's horns and tentacle arms. Lilith is the mother of all demons, the tempter of men, and aborter of children. It is therefore appropriate that NYC's One World Trade building was lit up pink to celebrate abortion rights in 2019. Lilith also wears a rainbow necklace, an outward projection of her disdain for God's promise to never flood the earth and kill innocence. In reliefs, Lilith is shown with the legs of a serpent, with two guardian owls that guard her dominion. She haunts in dreams and from the Upside Down. It is from this realm that Gordie Rose, founder of D-Wave, said that quantum computing will summon what he compared to the visions of H.P. Lovecraft: “And these things we're summoning into the world now, are not demons, they're not evil, they're more like the Lovecraftian great ‘old ones'. These entities are not necessarily going to be aligned with what we want.” The 1920 a movie ALGOL, about an alien giving advanced technology to humans, essentially became the base for modern algorithms starting with ALGOL 60 and 58. Technology that led to the atomic bomb also acts as a sort of trigger to open the gateway and summon the Old Ones. As we wax toward the Sagittarius Full Moon on June 11, we first experience the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Gemini June 8 which, as its been waxing has broadcast some interesting news about a major break up. Seems the public spat between President Donald Trump & billionaire Elon Musk made its way onto social media & we've been privy to the exaggerated claims & taunts of both men.The pending breakup of this bromance had long been forecast by astrologers, especially since transiting Uranus once again conjoined “off with his head” fixed star Algol circa May 4. This energy began when Mars & Uranus conjoined close to Algol July 15, 2024, & on July 13 an assassin tried to shoot Trump at his political rally in Butler, PA, on July 13. When we combine this Mercury/Jupiter in Gemini spat with the energies of the waxing first quarter “crisis in action” Mars/Uranus square (which perfects on June 15), we see their influence on this sudden, acrimonious, loudly conducted & widely publicized bromance breakup.This podcast explores how both Trump & Musk have Sun/Uranus aspects in their chart, yet neither of them seem to consciously notice their own erratic tendencies. Plus, how Musk's Cancer Sun/Libra Uranus cardinal square makes him futuristically progress-oriented, while Trump's SU/UR conjunction in Gemini seems to be about destroying conventional norms but then adapting by taking us back in time.Their recent public social media argument (it is Gemini season, after all, & this archetypal energy joined with Jupiter in Gemini likes to loudly exaggerate) has become the breakup fight heard ‘round the world. During their back & forth, Musk called for Trump's impeachment, Trump threatened to withhold billions of dollars of Musk's current government contracts, & Musk retaliated by saying his SpaceX company's Dragon Spacecraft would no longer resupply the international space station or ferry astronauts there & back. Their whole argument began when Musk suddenly objected to Trump's “big beautiful bill's” inclusion of the elimination of electric vehicle tax credits which are valuable to Musk's company, Tesla. The bill now sits in the Senate, which has not yet sent its version back to the House. Meanwhile, Trump would lose out on Musk's financial support for Republicans in future election battles, never mind that Musk funded Trump's presidential campaign to the tune of $230 million in 2024. Before long, however, Musk backed down from his last threat & is seeking “a conversation” with Trump, which makes us wonder how long it will be before both money-obsessed characters (& yes, you can be a billionaire & still be obsessed about money, lol) might kiss & make up. And whether or not breaking up is actually hard to do, lol...Thus far, Trump has refused, so whether Trump's natal wounds around partnership, plus his current transits--such as the fact that Uranus in his 10th is now squaring his Leo Ascendant/Aquarius Descendant, denoting sudden changes in partnership—will last, who knows? We also see he's approaching a Mars return as transiting Mars approaches a conjunction to his natal Mars in Leo on his Ascendant—the latter a recipe for having a chip on his shoulder--& has a few other interesting transits & progressions, so tune in to find out more!Meanwhile, Venus is now in Taurus since June 5/6 as Mercury & Jupiter both enter Moon-ruled Cancer on June 8 & 9, respectively, & we wax toward the June 11 Sagittarius Full Moon which forms a mutable square to the transiting nodal axis. Hard on the heels of the recent transit of Jupiter square to the Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node, there will likely be much legal news as a result, especially out of the Supreme Court now that it's term has ended & we know decisions are forthcoming. A couple of things seem certain, too, the first being that our emotional sensitivity—especially around our financial stability or lack thereof (Venus in Taurus)—will be heightened now. Along with this, however, we may begin to expand our intuitive capabilities (Jupiter in Cancer) to see beyond the boundaries of our local scenario into wider, longer-term implications for the future. (Perhaps Musk's 5'53” Cancer Sun will benefit from the pending conjunction by Jupiter between now & July 5, & reunited with Trump—hey, you never know, if not, they both have a lot to lose…) Meanwhile, by the time we reach this week's Sagittarius Full Moon which occurs at 20'39” of Sagittarius at 12:44 am PT & 3:44 a.m. ET on June 11, we may experience the height of changed perspectives because we now know that we may have been tricked into believing things we were told were in our best interest are actually far from that. As always, this full Moon reflects the light of the Sun back onto itself, revealing its shadow side. So, this particular lunation—in the U.S., at least--has the Sagittarius Moon highlighting the trickster nature of the Gemini's Sun's attempts to bamboozle us through his sleight of hand “if we take from the poor to give to the rich, it's to benefit YOU.” Hence, we are asked at this Sagittarius Full Moon to release our old perceptions—based on the Geminian tendency to collect & pass misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, & conspiracy theories without analyzing any of it. This may prove hard to do, however, since Venus forms a fixed square to Pluto & Mercury squares Neptune still at this lunation—both recipes for financial coercion & obfuscation about, or distortion of, facts. This becomes relevant, in the U.S. at least, to continued attempts by the U.S. Congress to come up with an acceptable budget reconciliation bill which it's trying to do by July 4 to avoid having the U.S. fall off a fiscal cliff. All of this as we approach the exact Leo Mars/Taurus Uranus opening square in its synodic cycle, and the same when Jupiter in Cancer forms an exact first quarter cardinal square to Saturn in Aries, all on June 15. Vance in the White House on February 28.It seemed back then like things were only going downhill from there-- what with unelected billionaire Elon Musk in charge of gutting federal governmental services that U.S. citizens rely on under the guise of eliminating waste & fraud. Moving fast and breaking things his specialty, Musk didn't take long to fall out of favor with Americans suffering from his financial cuts by the time we reached the March 6 first quarter lunar crisis in action mutable square of the Gemini Moon to the Pisces Sun. Musk's reply?“Everybody's talkin' at me, I don't hear a word they're saying…”Things were in flux all right, and by the time of the March 7/8 Pisces Sun trined Mars—by then direct in Cancer since February 23—it was clear that everything was not going to be ok. It slowly began to dawn on larger numbers of people that America's current situation was not sustainable and that a radical change would be necessary for the future, as Erin Sullivan defines this aspect in her book “Retrograde Planets.” By March 8, U.S. green card holders—legally allowed to live and work here--were being arrested without being charged with a crime or the right to an attorney & sent to harsh ICE prisons. By March 9, both Americans and Canadians were fed up—the former with Musk's federal job & funding cuts beginning to reverberate negatively throughout society & the latter as the U.S. president refused to shut up about making Canada America's 51st state--& began attacking Tesla dealerships.Meanwhile, lawsuits against the Trump administration's actions began to deluge the courts and now total 146. Approximately one-third of these are now under judicial restraints via various judges' rulings against federal employee firings, the defunding of Congressionally approved programs, veterans' healthcare and other benefits, and so much more.With Venus already retrograde in Aries since March 1 & Mercury having stationed retrograde in Aries 14/15--just after the first Virgo Full Moon lunar eclipse on March 13/14—it seemed inevitable that the truth was beginning to dawn even on those who'd voted for this current administration of billionaires. Not to mention their GOP Congressional sidekicks who'd by then become too afraid to hold public town halls with their angry constituents.However, since the Sun/Neptune conjunction in Pisces March 19 & the Sun's entrance into Aries at the spring equinox March 20, a shift began to take place. Such an obvious lack of compassion of the “let them eat cake” kind, combined with a callous inattention to detail, began to give way by the time the Sun's entrance into Aries called us all into the fight.Since they, we've been morphing away from delusional Piscean energy & toward the higher Piscean manifestation of empathy, & into a more proactive “fight for the right to have rights!” Aries battle cry. And with Venus retrograde have reached her inferior conjunction with the Sun in Aries March 22, we're now, by March 29, at the heliacal rising at time when global leaders tend to lose their heads, so to speak…At the Sun joined Mercury in Aries on March 24—usually an important announcement of some kind from or about leaders, as I noted in last week's podcast—we learned about how top secret U.S. military classified information was disseminated via the unprotected Signal chat app. As we move closer to early May's conjunction between transiting Uranus and “off with his head” fixed star Algol, no surprise that calls for the resignation of our current Pisces Moon Defense Secretary are, in true Aries fashion, getting louder by the day. My March 26's Mars square to wounded healer Chiron, it was obvious how this incident “wounded” our military by weakening its defenses through allowing those listening (are you listening Russia? How about you China? Oh, and what about Iran?) as one of the participants on that chat was actually IN Moscow on an unsecured line at the time. Are ya wakin' up yet, folks?Now as we approach tomorrow's Aries New Moon solar eclipse--& this eclipse series is a physically themed one which has already been filled with accidents, fires, military attacks, etc.—it also brings both luminaries together in alignment—both heart and mind. And Saturn sextiles Uranus now, telling us we have the opportunity to bring revolutionary forces together to try to heal some of the current wounds sustained through the Mars/Chiron square. JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this week's review of what the heck it all means as we head toward next week's Aries New Moon solar eclipse March 29!This podcast looks at how we are reevaluating relationships thanks to Venus retrograde & how we can find the inspiration to create our future, thanks to Mercury retrograde, both in Aries. We review also, as we're in the middle of two eclipses, the theme of this set of eclipses. Hint: this eclipse series is a very physically expressive one that may involve accidents, great physical effort, violence, or any sudden physical events, as per traditional astrologer Bernadette Brady in her book “Predictive Astrology.”Though some may experience these eclipses positively, we've already seen how they've manifested thus far in the collective in terms of both “sudden physical events” & violence,” given recent news reports.We have the recent storms which swept through the American south & southwest beginning March 14, the day of the Virgo Full Moon lunar eclipse that sparked tornadoes, wildfires, high winds and dust storms across eight states over. The result? At least 42 people dead and dozens injured.In addition, the Trump Administration authorized an attack on the Houthis in Yemen on March 15, in which at least 53 people were killed, including five children and two women, and 98 others were wounded, according to the Houthi-run health ministry. The Houthis have described the attacks as a "war crime" and vowed retaliation. That's in addition to a fire in a nightclub that killed 59 people in North Macedonia March 16, the deportation of 261 Venezuelans in America accused of being gang members & sent to El Salvador March 15. It's been discovered since, in true Neptunian fashion, that not all are gang members & that at least one is a professional soccer player who fled Venezuela after having participated in protests against the Maduro government and was arrested there & tortured. Israel declared the ceasefire in Gaza over & resumed airstrikes in Gaza March 18, killing more than 400 people including many women and children, and injuring at least 500, according to Gaza health officials.As we approach the Aries New Moon solar eclipse at 9-degrees Aries on March 29, should we expect more of the same? The danger here lies with the fact that the current commander in chief of the armed forces is Donald Trump, who during his last administration wanted to use the military to shoot Black Lives Matter protestors. He is now setting the stage to be able to do exactly that—next time protestors take to the streets.Then there's Venus stationing retrograde March 1 through April 12, when Venus will move back from Aries into Pisces. This is a period during which--according to Jungian astrologer Erin Sullivan in her book “Retrograde Planets”--we begin a time of global review. Between now and the inferior conjunction of the Aries Sun with Venus retrograde on March 22, & its heliacal rising March 28/29, is when “the reconsideration of what is diplomatic, & what is necessary to maintain a balanced world view & sense of integrity, is precisely what happens” to us both individually & collectively, Sullivan says.
