In a slightly more serious episode (or, let's face it, as serious as we can be reasonably expected to be), we look at the various ways mental health has been examined in comics - which takes us to webcomics, Sex Criminals, Lost at Sea, Deadly Class, X-Men, Psychiatric Tales, and all other kinds of weird and wonderful places. That is, before we get angry about Iron Fist. I mean, goddamnit, Marvel, I expected more from you.

We dive deep into Deadpool this week. Like, deeper than we've gone before. That's not dirty, I swear. We talk about the new movie - we announce when we're about to delve into spoilers, so no need to worry about that - and surprising no one, we have pretty varied opinions on it. We then go back to some of the comics history and try to pin down what, at least for us, is appealing about the Merc with the Mouth.

In this ComicsCast we provide counter-programming to a popular corporate holiday coming up this weekend to talk about FRIENDSHIP! In a somewhat ramble conversation, we get into some of our favourite friendships in comics - some aspirational, some tense and destructive ones, and some that are just adorbs. Today’s topic is Technology in Comics - and wouldn’t you know it, in typical Deviant fashion, us being a bit underprepared results in one of our most interesting discussions yet! We talk Iron Man (obis), Batman (again, duh), Transmetropolitan, Batgirl, Life Model Decoys, Avengers Identicards, and many, many other bits of gadgetry and nonsense-science in comics!

Dave joins us again, to talk about WEBCOMICS - what we like, love, and dislike about the format, why we’re not reading them as much as other comics, and why they can be great for someone starting out with the medium. We finish with news on upcoming Marvel and DC tv series!

In our host's absence, Dziugas and Andrea do our best to keep the show going by delving into Post-Apocalyptic comics! Luckily, we're joined by Dave Convery! We talk BPRD, Walking Dead, We Stand on Guard, Barefoot Gen, Crossed, Habibi, Supreme: Blue Rose, and a host of other comicy goodness!
