In this episode of Rewind, Tony revisits Titans, the live‑action reimagining of DC's Teen Titans created by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti. Originally developed for TNT before the network walked away from the project in 2016, the series was reborn as the first original scripted show for DC Universe, premiering in 2018 and later moving to HBO Max for its final seasons. Titans wasn't afraid to break canon, bend mythology, or challenge fan expectations. It took big swings—sometimes polarizing, often ambitious—and carved out a space for adult‑oriented superhero storytelling that influenced later DC projects. Its willingness to explore trauma, identity, and the cost of heroism set it apart from the CW's lighter fare and helped define the tone of DC's streaming era. Been wanting to do this show (and this episode) for a while. Great show. Fun episode. I would so go out with Fang (don't judge me).
So, what did everyone do last weekend? For the guys of the Worst Comic Podcast Ever, well, we manned the Hero Initiative table at Planet Comicon. We set up at Boulevard Brewery for a drink and draw fundraiser. We hosted five panels with the likes of Dan Mora, Adam Kubert, Paul Dini, Chris Claremont, and many more. We did a live podcast panel complete with guest artists. And somehow, we even made time to record our next Book Club episode! This time, we are travelling back to the mid-1980s as we revisit the Teen Titans for The Judas Contract, where the Titans discovered a traitor on their team, Jericho signs up for the team (see what I did there!), and Dick Grayson finally decides on a new costumed identity. Written by Marv Wolfman with art by George Perez, this is THE Teen Titans story to read. Recorded on the con floor, Jerry, John, and Cullen are joined by loyal listener Eric Haar as we dissect this storyline. Stick around to the very end to find out about next month's selection for WCPE Book Club. We return to the MCU, and we stick with a story from the 1980s, but it's set in the far future. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. Podcast. SUPERMAN CAMEO ALREADY?! Greg Alba, Coy Jandreau, and Roxy Striar react to the brand-new Supergirl trailer from DC Studios and James Gunn's DCU! This new look gives us a much better sense of the movie's tone, scale, and emotional core, including our best trailer look yet at Milly Alcock's Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Jason Momoa's Lobo, the destruction and trauma tied to Argo, the intergalactic revenge quest with Ruthye, and the major role Krypto plays in kicking off the story. Director Craig Gillespie has described the film as a sci-fi epic inspired in part by True Grit and John Wick, with Kara helping Ruthye track down Krem after Ruthye's family is murdered and Krypto is poisoned. In this trailer reaction, we talk about the melancholy vibe, the heavier emotional weight compared to Superman, the cosmic scope, the action, the visual style, and how much more tragic and battle-worn this version of Supergirl feels. We also get into Lobo's presence, how important Ruthye looks to the story, the destruction of Argo City / Kryptonian life, and what the movie seems to be setting up for Kara emotionally as she moves through this revenge-driven DCU adventure. Craig Gillespie said the film digs deep into Krypton's culture and Argo specifically to shape Kara's personality and pain, which is all over this footage. We also discuss the Superman connection / cameo angle, since David Corenswet's Superman is expected to appear alongside Kara in the film after her DCU debut path was tied to Superman, and the trailer continues to make this feel like a true extension of the new shared universe James Gunn and Peter Safran are building. Supergirl stars Milly Alcock, Jason Momoa, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham, and it hits theaters and IMAX on June 26, 2026. As for the upcoming DCU movie slate under James Gunn, the current theatrical lineup includes Supergirl (June 26, 2026), Clayface (September 2026), and Man of Tomorrow (July 2027), while other DCU film projects in development include The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, The Authority, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman Follow Roxy Striar YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@TheWhirlGirls Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/roxystriar/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/roxystriar Follow Coy Jandreau: Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@coyjandreau?l... If you ever wondered what happens when a confident dad challenges his teenage son to a fight… well, this episode answers that question in the most humiliating way possible.Welcome back to The Rizzuto Show, the daily comedy show where the stories are real, the insults are affectionate, and someone usually regrets opening their mouth. This time, that someone is Rizz. After inviting his teenage son into the studio, things quickly escalate from harmless trash talk to an actual physical showdown. What starts as a playful scuffle becomes a full-blown generational moment when the kid calmly demonstrates a few jiu-jitsu moves and proceeds to dismantle his father in front of the entire show. Listeners witness the exact moment when dad strength officially expires and teenage athleticism takes over.Naturally, the crew handles the situation with the maturity you'd expect… which means endless roasting. But the emotional damage doesn't stop there. The show also celebrates a major milestone: Rizz's 20-year wedding anniversary. What begins as a heartfelt moment quickly turns into a hilarious breakdown of what it actually takes to survive two decades married to a loud, stubborn morning radio host. Rafe even reaches out to Rizz's wife for a real message about their marriage, which includes praise, honesty, and a reminder that the proposal might have been… underwhelming.Along the way, the gang also dives into classic Rizz Show randomness:Why Friday the 13th tattoo specials existThe return of a beloved St. Louis dinerAnother legendary E-Memoriam roast segmentA tribute to musician Country Joe McDonaldAnd plenty of the sarcastic commentary listeners expect from a daily comedy show that thrives on ridiculous real-life storiesIf you're here for sarcastic humor, weird news, pop culture commentary, and the kind of radio moments that only happen when nobody's trying too hard to look cool, this episode delivers. And if you're a dad… consider this a warning. The day may come when your kid challenges you to a fight. And you might lose. Thanks for listening to The Rizzuto Show, the daily comedy show where the laughs are loud, the stories are ridiculous, and the embarrassment is usually happening to Rizz.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We've got a hero on the podcast, as Mehr aka SuperMehr2.0 on Instagram joins me. We're talking about two of her favorite things - Superheroes, and Cosplay! With the episode divided in half, the first half is all about superheroes. Mehr talks about getting into superheroes thanks to her brothers, and being sat for several of the animated shows. Iconic shows such as Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Teen Titans, just to name a few. We talk about these shows, then get into some of the different comics. One such comic, and a primary focus, is Ms. Marvel - aka Kamala Khan. We talk about what the character means to Mehr, as well as discuss the comic version to the MCU version. Another surprise character that Mehr talks about is Damien Wayne. I won't say more, so you can listen and find out. Then we turn to Cosplay. Mehr talks about first getting interested in cosplay and talks about the characters that she represents. We talk about her cosplaying during COVID and how she pivoted to online content. We circle back to the love of Ms. Marvel and representing her in various looks and cosplays, and attending the premieres of Ms. Marvel, as well as The Marvels. Mehr talks about some of her upcoming ideas and what she has planned. You can find Mehr at: https://www.instagram.com/supermehr2.0/ DC Comics Webtoon can be found at: https://www.dc.com/webtoon

In this episode of Word Balloon, I sit down with longtime DC writer and historian Bob Rozakis for a deep dive into his Bronze Age experiences writing Robin, Teen Titans, Superman, and more during one of the most transitional eras in comics history. Bob reflects on crafting character-driven stories at a time when DC was recalibrating its identity, sharing behind-the-scenes insight into working with iconic heroes while balancing continuity, editorial demands, and the evolving tastes of readers in the 1970s and early '80s. From Robin back-ups to Titans team drama and Superman tales, Bob paints a vivid picture of what it was like working inside DC when the Bronze Age was firing on all cylinders. We also revisit one of the most unique chapters in DC lore, when Bob literally drove the DC Comics promotional “mobile” around New York and New Jersey hand-selling books like a Good Humor ice cream man.He shares stories of being there when Christopher Reeve judged a Superman movie contest at DC, capturing that moment when comics and Hollywood suddenly collided in a big way. Bob offers candid memories of the DC Implosion. What it felt like from the inside as titles were slashed and uncertainty hit the staff, and how creators adapted during a turbulent stretch in the company's history. We also discuss his fascinating alternate-history essays published in Alter Ego, where Bob imagines a world in which DC and All-American Comics never consolidated the way they did. It's a smart, playful exploration of “what if” publishing scenarios from someone who knows the real history inside and out.

We talk the DCU tone shift, new costume design, the sword imagery, space-western vibes, and how this version of Kara contrasts with Superman (David Corenswet) in Superman: Legacy — plus potential ties to Brainiac, Lobo, the Czarnian Empire, The Woman of Tomorrow villain group, and DC cosmic lore. We also cover all confirmed DCU Chapter One: Gods & Monsters projects including Superman, The Authority, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Peacemaker Season 2, Creature Commandos, and every rumored future film (including Teen Titans, Justice League, and Lanterns). This trailer gives us massive tone, lore, and character clues, so we deep-dive into every frame while reacting to the emotional beats, the stunning cinematography, the fight choreography, alien worlds, and that needle-drop moment set to “Call Me” by Blondie. The great superhero Mood Man (real name Tyler) is struggling with feelings of jealousy after the Teen Titans recently beat him to a dramatic save of a school bus. Some things are worse than acid in the mouth, Mood Man! Get out of there while you still can!!!Ah, you must also be good at sensing people's moods, because you can sense that I'm elated you've found the best part of the episode description! From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)
Welcome to From Crisis to Crisis Classic! Because of the original feed getting lost due to financial considerations I (Michael) decided to start representing them on this feed to give them a new home since people still seem to be finding them. Note before listening...check out the original release date below if you hear something that sounds kind of off or doesn't align with the social norms of today. Or if the audio quality isn't up to snuff of what you'd hear from this show today. These epsiodes are represented as they were first released. No editing. No George Lucas style revamps. I'm doing this mainly because I want to retain the original feel of the episodes and also because...well, I'm lazy. Episode 3 - January 1987 Original Release Date - May 26, 2009 Original Show Notes This week your hosts, Michael Bailey and Jeffrey Taylor, examine the books that came out with the cover date of January 1987, the first month of regular Superman comics after Man of Steel. In Superman #1 a certain criminal with a heart of Kryptonite makes his initial Post Crisis appearance while over in Adventures of Superman #424 we get our first look at a certain gossip columnist that has eyes for a mild mannered reporter. Finally there's Action Comics #584, which features Superman running amok in Metropolis with only the Teen Titans to try and stop him.

It's the biggest upset of the year - we both like this four episode spin-off of the miserable show What If...?. It's true, this one kinda nails it and does the sort of big comic book worldbuilding we want more of in the MCU, all while killing off a bunch of characters at every twist and turn. Before that: does the Punisher have a Robin? Derek mostly liked that Ed Gein show. Marv Wolfman writes the Teen Titans to be very very mean. And what's the dumbest story in the Bible? In the highly unlikely scenario that you don't care about any of that, skip to 51:27.Next week: HBO's Watchmen TV show rewatch begins!

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesMarvel Studios may be sitting out of this weekend's storied San Diego Comic Hall H, but that hasn't stopped the big news and updates from pouring in. First, last week in a huge move, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige invited a small group of journalists to Marvel Studios' offices where he laid out the future for the next 5 to 7 years for the MCU. The biggest takeaway, arguably, was Feige's cagey hints regarding a likely reset to the universe during the events of Secret Wars, saying, “Reboot is a scary word; Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we're thinking along those lines.” Other tidbits from Feige's comments include a commitment to recasting the X-Men with new actors for their post Secret Wars film, an update on the Mahershala Ali-led Blade film and Sony's mandate that they stay away from a live action Miles Morales until the conclusion of the animated Spider-Verse trilogy. In Marvel news that looks to the more immediate future, director Matt Shakman shared that John Malkovich's role and performance as the Red Ghost has been removed from The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, which opens this week!Superman continues to live up to its name when it comes to its performance, as the superhero flick passed $409 million at the global box office in its second weekend of release. The $58 million second weekend, which is a respectable -54% drop from the opening weekend, is in keeping with 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine and bodes favorably compared to other recent releases from the comic book genre; plus coupled with other wins like A Minecraft Movie and Sinners, the latest success has helped Warner Bros become 2025's top earning studio with $1.32 billion in ticket sales. In other news, Variety confirmed Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira has been tapped to pen the Wonder Woman reboot for the DCU in addition to being attached to a live action Teen Titans project for the studio.Lots and lots of trailers hit the interwebs last week, lets run them down and talk about ‘em:Alien: EarthPredator: BadlandsTron: AresStranger Things S5Mortal Kombat IIChristopher Nolan made history by putting tickets on sale for The Odyssey exactly one year before the film's release, marking the first time any movie tickets have sold a full year in advance. The early sales were exclusively for IMAX 70mm screenings at select theaters, supporting Nolan's epic adaptation of the Greek myth that is being shot entirely on IMAX film cameras with a $250 million budget.Hulu announced that Futurama Season 13 will switch from its recent weekly release format to an all-at-once binge drop, with all 10 episodes premiering simultaneously on September 15 at 5 p.m. PT. Nintendo and Sony's live-action Legend of Zelda movie has cast Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto revealing the casting choices alongside first-look photos on social media. Apart from all the usual shenanigans, the gang chats about everything pop culture with all the trimmings and is joined by the legendary Larry Kenney (Thundercats, Teen Titans) to discuss his enormous career, voicing an iconic array of characters, and his current tryst on Teen Titans Go. They also chat about the insane heat that has been bestowed upon the East Coast, how hot is too hot, and how it is shocking that Diddy is getting off with most of the charges. The cast talks about the Epstein files client list and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne's final performance. The crew also discusses the Liver King going after Joe Rogan, the utter mess of Love Island, Michael Douglas ending his career in acting and how great a film Bringing Down the House was. The cast chats about Ted Lasso returning, Spaceballs 2, and the Street Fighter movie cast. They discuss the new Jurassic Park film, and ask if the new Superman film will be worth the time. The crew chats about entertainment news, opinions and other cool stuff and things.
