What might God(de/ss)(s) tell us about such a posture? How can our divine nature help us meet each other with open and generous hearts?

We are towards the end of December and Christmas is around the corner. Every December the word "peace" is spoken of mostly because of the verse in the Bible that reads: "... a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Yet this is the time when there is no peace more than any time of the whole year. This season brings out the worst emotions, awful memories and feelings of intense pain. Actually it is all year long that everyone is seeking for "peace IN earth," not realizing the "peace on earth" is from the Prince of Peace IN heaven. Jesus gave us a parting gift before He died. He said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27. So technically there is no peace on earth, but peace in us that are in the earth until He returns again. Then there will be perfect peace on earth during the Millennial Kingdom, until then He did promise us peace and has given it to us through His life. There is the peace with God, the peace in God, and the peace of God. Jesus is the God of Peace, Prince of Peace, King of Peace, that gives supernatural peace. It might seem impossible for you to have peace. This is true. It cannot come from you, or this earth. Your peace IS in and with Jesus Christ. Jesus IS your peace. There are many reasons people do not have peace and one of the greatest reasons is unforgiveness. Take the time to forgive, get rid of the darkness of it that has blocked the light of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will give you the power to forgive, then when you do, it will be though His life in you. Then the light will break forth upon you and in you. The dark clouds above you will grow thin, and a new day of freedom will happen. He would not have told us to forgive if it were impossible. And what is impossible for you is not impossible with God. So it is not impossible to forgive. God designed and created this world to be His home and to dwell with us and among us. What does the view of God as a "home-creator" and a "home- maker" mean for us?  How can we participate in co-creating a life with God?  If God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow then there are some patterns we can see of how God co-creates life with us on this earth and why it matters to us as Christian families and as a church. Using Old Testament stories as a guide, we can see these patterns and learn how to create a flourishing life.  Let's explore the concept of Divine Generosity as a way of co-creating a home with God.

How does our value and desire for fairness impact our ability to receive and practice generosity?   Spiritual Practice Expand your circle of generosity.  Examine who you already practice generosity with ease.  Consider stepping outside your circle of generosity with one person this week Imagine being the late worker (Ignatian practice of reflecting on Scripture).  Imagine standing in the marketplace all day waiting to be hired.  Imagine being offered a job at the end of the day.  Imagine getting paid for the whole day after working only an hour.  How does that imagination impact your perspective and experience of divine generosity?

The first advent of Jesus inaugurated the age of Jubilee, a period between the first and second advent of Christ where redemption and liberation from the crippling powers of darkness are experienced. The Jubilee Age is rooted in the nature of the Father, pure love, grace, generosity. The sermon on the mount's overall theme is Jubilee. The Jubilee is especially directed toward the interest of the poor, the disadvantaged and the oppressed. Jesus proclaims good news to the poor, Luke 4:18f. and then describes how Jubilee works. By the Spirit of the Lord's power, liberty to captives, sight to the blind, freedom to the oppressed all display the "year of the Lord's favor." Until the end of this age, the Church is called to enact the spirit of Jubilee, by proclaiming and demonstrating the Gospel to the poor and oppressed. This is the ongoing mission of Jesus in the world.
