Whoa! Lots of video game news! Ubisoft's on the rocks, the QA workers who made Skyrim are organizing and lots more. Plus Tori's playing a J-pop game and Noah's playing Disco Elysium, which is decidedly not a J-pop game. THINGS MENTIONED: QA workers at ZeniMax Media organized from TechCrunch. Rumor has it that a Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch is on its way. TheGamer asks whether the Breath of the Wild sequel will be the last major Switch game. This great tweet about Final Fantasy from Ash Parrish on Twitter. videogamedunkey's publishing house, Big Mode, announces its first game, Animal Well. Kotaku reports Ubisoft is having a rough time. Also from Kotaku: the next Assassin's Creed will be smaller. Polygon's most anticipated indie games for 2023. The Origin Story podcast on the game Venba. PCGamer on the lawsuit that might kill any future Disco Elysium plans. Extra special thanks to musical guests Expert Timing and their track Special Hell from their 2022 release Stargazing. Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This is a podcast where we talk to guests about their favorite albums. Today we're talking with my friend Gibran Colbert of the band The Give & Take and also of Expert Timing. We talked about As Cities Burn's debut album "Son I Loved You at Your Darkest" and about how Evangelicalism and Capitalism make strange and harmful bedfellows. The Give & Take released their EP, "Great Pause," in 2021 and Gibran is working on a follow-up to hopefully be released this year! Also, Expert Timing released a really amazing album, "Stargazing," recently on Count Your Lucky Stars. So check both of those out directly from the band. https://experttiming.bandcamp.com/album/stargazing Subscribe to our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/spinningoutpod Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod)

This week's episode was an absolute blast. I had the entire band from Orlando's own, Expert Timing. There was laughing throughout most of the episode. Jeff, Katrina, and Gibran are all down to earth and all-around great people. We talked about the rather alarming loose guidelines when it comes to Covid in the state of Florida. We visited a few stories about alligators because, you know, when in Florida, right? There was a real interesting conversation about learning the music scene -- this included Katrina explaining how she picked up the bass after experiencing the DIY punk scene in Pennsylvania and attending The Fest. She even goes into what planning a tour is like. We deeply explored DIY touring. There were several fun stories like the carrying equipment down a set of steps in Philadelphia show on a snowy day, Gibran losing his wallet the first day of a tour, and playing in Canada for the first time. We heard about a secret project (not so secretive anymore) that Jeff and Katrina work on In their downtime called Weapons of Math Destruction (best name ever). Jeff explained how Count Your Lucky Stars came into the picture and the tweet that started their relationship with the record label. Jeff and Katrina talked about being married and what it's like writing the songs. Lastly, of course, we talked about their most recent release called Whichever, Whatever. I recommend giving it a listen! Also, follow the band! Links below:  Bandcamp: https://experttiming.bandcamp.com Instagram: @experttiming Twitter: @expert_timing
