In this special episode, recorded live at Revive Now! A Day of Prayer and Worship, held on 11 April. David speaks on Holy Ghost Fire. 'When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance, (Acts 2, NKJV).

Acts 1: 6-8
Pastor Phelps continues his series through Acts by looking at the persecution faced by the early church in Acts 5. Message originally preached Sunday morning September 21, 2025.
Pentecost didn't end in the upper room—it launched a Spirit-filled church that still carries God's power today. Pastor Nathan teaches on the gift of tongues as the Spirit's evidence and strength for believers.
For our Groups Kickoff this Sunday, Pastor Nick Newman taught us how to keep the fire of faith burning by surrounding yourself with other believers who encourage, strengthen, and reignite your passion for God. Small groups are the “fresh wood” that fuel our spiritual fire and help us live out our faith in community. This message was recorded live September 7th, 2025.
Verse by verse study through the book of Acts Chapter Two and Verse Three
God didn't show up to make everybody speak the same language. God showed up so we could understand one another across our differences. That's not a return to uniformity. That's a celebration of diversity. That's a vision of the reign of God where every clan and nation and tongue can come to the table as themselves, not as carbon copies of whoever got there first. And, let's be honest, we know how badly a little diversity triggers some folks in our country. We've seen what happens when people start talking about making room at the table for voices that have historically been excluded, for perspectives that challenge the comfortable assumptions of those who've always held power. Adventurous Living - The Meadow Springs Community Church Podcast
On the last day of Easter, something was brewing. Luke writes about the people - from every nation under heaven - that had come together and experienced something truly transformative. What do they do now? Where do they go from here and what will life look like on the other side of the day of Pentecost? It is truly the BIRTH day of the Church and it has been 'growing up' ever since!
Mthr. Barbara preaches on the Feast of Pentecost.
What is Pentecost? When did this happen in relation to the crucifixion and resurrection? What is the significance of the tongues of fire? Dr. Croghan turns to Martin Luther's Small Catechism: "I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel." This is the Holy Spirit's work, to deliver the Gospel to you. The Holy Spirit comes to convict you of your sin. The conviction comes when you say, “Your sins are forgiven.” You have mercy. You have the Gospel. CARE OF SOULS - ADDICTIONIn Care of Souls, a special mini-series podcast from Luther House of Study, Lutheran pastors and theologians come together to explore the deeply personal and pastoral task of preaching to and caring for those struggling with life's challenging situations: addiction, death, family disharmony, and more. Rooted in the theology of the cross and the Lutheran tradition of radical grace, this series offers both theological depth and practical guidance for pastors, church workers, and lay leaders. Because in the end, it's not about fixing people—it's about preaching the Gospel. Care of Souls - Addiction GOSPEL Acts 2:1-21 1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. 5 Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem. 6 And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each. 7 Amazed and astonished, they asked, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language? 9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs -- in our own languages we hear them speaking about God's deeds of power." 12 All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "What does this mean?" 13 But others sneered and said, "They are filled with new wine." 14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them, "Men of Judea and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to what I say. 15 Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o'clock in the morning. 16 No, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel: 17 'In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. 18 Even upon my slaves, both men and women, in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. 19 And I will show portents in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and smoky mist. 20 The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the Lord's great and glorious day. 21 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' Stephen, the first martyry of the early church, provides for us a powerful example of what it means to sacrifice for the Lord. Because he was a man of faith and full of the Holy Spirit, he displayed for us how to live a life of grace and how to die with grace as followers of Jesus Christ our Lord. By Dave Bartlett
Peter and John serve as examples to us, in the face of adversity to be confident and courageous. They continued to speak in the name of Jesus, no matter what persecution they would have to endure. May we, like them, in the power of Jesus name, courageously live with hearts on fire for God. By Dave Bartlett
Acts 2:1-4 - - May 19, 2013
All of our theology & doctrine will be based on scripture. We will continue steadfastly in all three biblical teachings of the Apostle's Doctrine: 1) The doctrine of Baptism of Holy Spirit & Fire (Acts 1:4) - Believers need power. 2) The doctrine of Signs & Wonders (Acts 2:43) - They were done through the apostles. God wants to work signs and wonders through YOU, through the power of the Spirit of God to flow through. 3) The doctrine of Authority of the Believer (Mark 1:21-28) - Jesus has given us the authority over ALL the power of the enemy. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16 SERMON NOTES: https://www.bible.com/events/49352302 The Roads Church: https://theroads.church
The same Spirit that came upon the 120 in power at Pentecost is the same Spirit that resides in us. The Holy Spirit set their hearts on fire that they might spread the Gospel to those who were lost. Today, the Holy Spirit will set our hearts on fire that we might spread the Gospel to those who are lost. Is your heart open, desiring for Him to set your heart on fire, if so expect to be ignited! Sunday Morning October 6, 2024
This is the final message in a 13-part series looking at the phenomenon of house churches in the Book of Acts and the rest of the New Testament. In addition to considering the house churches Paul planted, visited, and wrote to, we consider again Paul's suffering in the midst of all the ministry he was doing. Paul's vision of the Christian life was radically different than what is preached in many churches today. Who should we be following?

On Pentecost Sunday, the Rev. Nick Lannon preaches a sermon on Acts 2, in which the Holy Spirit is unleashed into the world. The curse of Babel is reversed and the church is made one: one in their need for salvation, and one in its availability in Christ.
In this episode, Pastor Jay Lee talks about how the power of the Holy Spirit that was unleashed at Pentecost to give utterance to God's truth in ways that all people could understand, continues today. This week's scripture passage(s): Acts 2:1-4
Dr. Spivey walks through the day of pentecost and how the holy spirit descended onto the apostles.
In this Day of Pentecost episode of Scripture First, we're breaking down a passage in Acts where God breaks into His creation like a rush of violent wind and divided tongues of fire rest on the disciples. Adam, Kiri and Mason ask: What is Pentecost? What is a tongue of fire? And why is God delivering this miracle years after Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven? Nick Hopman explains how something new is happening here. The Holy Spirit is coming in a new way. Now, not just the prophets can speak of God's promises. Everyone can. We killed Christ. God raised Him from the dead. For YOU. SING TO THE LORDListen to Luther House of Study's newest podcast: Sing to the Lord! Martin Luther said, "Next to the word of God, the art of music is the greatest treasure in the world." To understand the importance of hymnody in the Lutheran church, Lars Olson and Mason Van Essen sit down with Zachary Brockhoff each week to discuss the lectionary's hymns, their meaning and history, and how the music preaches the Gospel. We hope you enjoy this new venture!

Everybody knows that love is the most crucial spirit of God needed today. No one denies its's intense value. But kindness deserves some attention as well. In fact, you might categorize being kind as the way you express love in a transaction, interpersonal way. Kindness, from tiny little choices, to deep conversations, proves love. It shares love with others. Kindness is love. In that way, kindness is extremely powerful. It changes outcomes from a near fender bender to a 40 year marriage. Today's episode explores the definition of the word, the generic, everyday element of it, the methods for living it in your home, and five practical points to consider. I'll list those points below with the verse references.- Give a Gift - Acts 9:36-39 - What can you present to someone as a random act of kindness?- Make a Trip - Acts 10:30-33 - Who can you go visit simply to encourage and show love to them?- Build a Fire - Acts 28:1-3 - What need can you fill in the life of someone God has put in your life?- Be One Sided - Titus 3:4-5 - How can you go way above and beyond like God does with you?- Create a Habit - Eph. 2:6-7 - What can you start doing regularly to imbed kindness anew?
