We highlight the power of the word of God and deliverance from demonic influence in our "It's in the Word" sermon series as we journey toward Pentecost Sunday. Our focus today is on understanding how spiritual forces impact our lives and breaking free through divine authority.• The Bible teaches us that Jesus is the Word made flesh, meaning wherever we go, He goes with us• Demonic influence is real—affecting relationships, schools, businesses, and government• Demons enter our lives through doors we open through words, habits, and unresolved issues• Seven common symptoms of demonic influence include persistent emotional problems, mental disturbances, speech issues, and physical infirmities• Deliverance requires honesty, humility, repentance, renunciation, forgiveness, prayer, and spiritual warfare• We must redirect our battles away from people and toward spiritual forces• True freedom comes when you position your spiritual weapons against the enemy, not against family or colleagues• Deliverance often begins at the altar through genuine worship and surrenderThis is your exodus moment. Whatever has held you captive—whether depression, addiction, fear, or generational patterns—can be broken today through the powerful name of Jesus. Welcome To Chosen City Church! The prophetic isn't spooky or weird—it's a powerful tool God has given every believer to change their circumstances through faith-filled words. When we understand biblical prophecy as speaking by divine inspiration, we can transform our valleys of despair into places of resurrection power.• Everyone can operate in the prophetic gift, not just those with the office of prophet• Prophecy serves for edification (building), exhortation (invoking divine help), and comfort (connection)• The valley (difficult places in life) is precisely where prophetic declarations have the most power• Our prophetic authority isn't dependent on our perfection but on our position with God• Words of faith can literally change circumstances when inspired by the Holy Spirit• We must stop "cursing" our future by speaking negatively and instead declare God's perspective• True prophecy requires prayer, faith, and being filled (not just indwelled) with the Holy Spirit• Many believers have salvation but haven't experienced the empowering fullness of the Spirit• The prophetic breakthrough happens when we stop waiting for someone else to speak and open our own mouthsJoin our Monday night prayer call at 8:00 PM. Your prayer life will activate the prophetic gift within you. Welcome To Chosen City Church! Pastor Walt delivers a passionate call for believers to rediscover the transformative power of God's Word as the ultimate source of breakthrough, guidance, and spiritual nourishment in their lives.• The Word of God comes to us in five different forms: God's direct speech, personal address, through human lips, written scripture, and Jesus Christ himself• Modern society has reduced the Word to sound bites and application without proper interpretation• Like a tree planted by water, those who meditate on God's Word have strong roots and bear fruit in every season• The enemy tries to steal the Word through lack of understanding, shallow roots, or letting worldly concerns crowd it out• Isaiah 55 extends four invitations: to eat and drink from God's provision, to listen for true life, to seek the Lord while He can be found, and to understand God's higher thoughts• Every need, answer, and breakthrough you seek is already available in the Word• God's Word never returns void but accomplishes everything He intendsIf you've been blessed by today's message, I encourage you to bring your physical Bible to church each week. There's power in reconnecting with the written Word, marking passages that speak to you, and building your faith through consistent study of God's promises. Welcome To Chosen City Church! God's favor is freely given, undeserved kindness that looks beyond our faults and sees our needs, unlike rewards based on good behavior. This message explores how to receive and walk in divine favor during challenging times.• Favor requires genuine connection to God, not just church attendance• God prunes both dead things and dying things in our lives to increase fruitfulness• Remaining connected to Christ produces an overflow of joy that becomes our strength• The redemptive power of favor is seen in Christ's atonement for our sins• God's favor reveals His purposes and plans for our lives as we obey• You are chosen and appointed by God for a specific purpose that comes with an anointingIf you need a fresh connection with God or want to experience His favor in your life, we invite you to respond today. God has not brought you this far to leave you - your answer only needs to be "yes." Welcome To Chosen City Church! Resurrection season calls us to consider the profound meaning of Jesus' sacrifice - He paid for sins He didn't commit, making salvation personal rather than abstract. We don't go to hell because of sin but because we reject the One who thought we were worth saving and paid the price for our sins.• Courage is operating boldly, confidently, and fearlessly in the face of challenges• Six types of courage every believer needs: physical, moral, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual• Knowing your identity in Christ is fundamental to operating with courage• Understanding God's timing helps us know when to act and when to wait• Jesus demonstrated courage in returning to Jerusalem despite knowing death awaited• Lazarus' resurrection teaches us about God's power over dead situations in our lives• Unusual, authentic worship positions us for breakthroughs and miracles• God wants to shift things quickly for those willing to be courageous• Sometimes we need just one "Thomas" - someone willing to stand with us through challengesIf you're seeking a breakthrough, don't wait! Be bold like Jesus, make courageous decisions, give God unusual worship, and pray with persistence. Your faith can make you whole. Welcome To Chosen City Church! Walking in newness of life means experiencing a complete transformation where old things pass away and all things become new through Christ. The baptismal experience represents more than just an event—it symbolizes death to our old self and resurrection into a new way of living.• Becoming a new creature in Christ means developing a different "stride" or way of moving through life• Our number one priority must be pleasing God and not letting anything take our focus off Him• True transformation is evidenced not by church buildings or denominational names, but by what's inside a person's heart• The ministry of reconciliation requires putting away former corrupt conversations and being renewed in spirit• Evidence of spiritual rebirth is shown through love—without love, all spiritual gifts and religious activities amount to nothing• Growing in Christ means putting away childish things and not letting "little things" upset us• The greatest example of love is Christ laying down His life for usStay in the service of the Lord. The world didn't give this joy, and the world can't take it away. Welcome To Chosen City Church! The sovereign God has all power and supreme authority over every situation in our lives, from sickness to mental health to governmental affairs.• God is looking for people who seek His heart, not just His hand• Each generation has unique challenges but also the choice to trust God• Jacob represents a generation that wrestled with God but wouldn't let go without a blessing• We must choose to trust God as Jehovah Jireh, the provider who goes ahead of us• Nothing is too hard for El Shaddai, the God who makes the impossible possible• Clean hands and pure hearts give us access to God's presence• Breaking generational curses requires bringing hidden struggles into God's light• Men must lead through authentic worship that transcends cultural stereotypes• Women need to rediscover their God-given identities beyond their roles• The struggle is over when we rest in God's faithfulness and sovereigntyLift up your heads and open the gates of your hearts so the King of Glory—the Lord strong and mighty—can come in. My soul says yes to Him. Welcome To Chosen City Church! Breaking generational cycles requires planting the right seeds that disrupt patterns of limitation and failure in our lives and families. When we understand that a seed stops a cycle, we gain power over repetitive behaviors that have kept us stuck for generations.• Growth represents sustained change that cannot be reversed, unlike temporary swelling that eventually subsides• Our mindset is like a frying pan - if it's too small, we'll reject opportunities that don't fit our limited thinking• God intentionally calls us to tasks beyond our natural abilities to create dependency on supernatural provision• Leaders are pathfinders who must discover their own way through spiritual sensitivity rather than following others' maps• Barriers are real, not imaginary obstacles - every significant opportunity comes with opposition• Favor opens doors but influence changes nations, requiring courage and wisdom to steward properly• Joseph's anointing allows us to run over walls of limitation that have confined previous generations• Broken things still have tremendous value - "broken crayons still color" with the same vibrance and potentialI challenge you to identify one cycle in your life that needs to be broken and plant a seed today that will disrupt that pattern. Your breakthrough isn't just for you - it will become legacy for generations to come. Welcome To Chosen City Church! God takes us to a place of overflow where we can hear Him speak clearly about our purpose and promise beyond our struggles and daily needs. • The Lord is our shepherd who guides us to a place of not wanting or lacking anything essential• Sometimes God forces us to lie down and rest before we can properly receive from Him• Abraham heard about his greater purpose from a place of abundance, not deficit• The valley of the shadow of death is just that - a shadow we pass through, not death itself• God uses His rod to protect us from attacks and His staff to rescue us when we're stuck• Many can't experience overflow because their spiritual cups have holes from past hurts• The table God prepares for us after our trials is where He anoints and fills us to overflowing• Breaking barriers requires operating from overflow, not constantly from a place of lack• God often speaks about our purpose only after we've moved beyond survival-mode prayers• Rest is essential for spiritual nourishment - you can't eat when you're filled with anxietyIf you've been struggling to break through barriers in your life, ask God to fix the holes in your cup so you can retain what He's pouring into you. Your breakthrough comes from the overflow. Welcome To Chosen City Church! We are in the midst of an atmospheric shift at our church and many others that have submitted to what God is doing in this season, and this shift has direct impact on you and your family.• God is shifting the atmosphere quickly because the problems in our nation and world are shifting quickly• The shift from religion to relationship requires leaving behind both Pharisee and Sadducee spirits• Pharisees represent religious rigidity and tradition without relationship• Sadducees represent skepticism about miracles, resurrection, and the Holy Spirit's work• Jesus demonstrated this shift in his encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well• True worship happens in both spirit and truth—we need both elements• Many struggle because they "worship what they don't know"—lacking deep knowledge of God• Spiritual authority comes through surrender and Holy Spirit empowerment• This shift will make us more effective at reaching others and addressing challenges• God is raising up believers who can operate with spiritual discernment, healing, and powerThe Lord is saying that the time is coming, and is now, when those who worship will worship in spirit and in truth. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. Welcome To Chosen City Church! Praise opens the door to God's deliverance, breaking down every barrier that stands in our way as believers seeking His face and calling upon His name.• God sees you and hears you too—not just everyone else's prayers, but yours specifically• The difference between blessing the Lord and extolling Him is the level of enthusiasm and whole-body engagement• Psalm 34 outlines God's promises: seeking Him leads to being heard and delivered from all fears• There's a spiritual formula: seeking + looking + calling + fearing + crying out + taking refuge = deliverance • Our barriers break when we praise God with our whole being, not offering "patty cake" praises• Personal testimony of divine protection through praise during a home intrusion• Even when circumstances don't change immediately, faith grows through each experience of seeking God• Some barriers require vulnerability and transparency with others to be fully broken• God often uses our difficulties to work His purpose in our lives according to Romans 8:28• Learning to praise enthusiastically now prepares us for eternity where we'll continuously worship GodCome unto Jesus if you don't know Him as Lord and Savior. Repent and accept Him today. He hears the sinner's prayer, and He will answer according to His will and purpose for your life. Welcome To Chosen City Church!
