Pastor Blake discussed the themes of fresh beginnings and renewing one's faith as the new year unfolds, using the book of Malachi as a foundation. He highlighted that the moment we begin to doubt God's love for us is when our love for Him starts to diminish, often fueled by feelings of condemnation and comparison. The message emphasizes that God's love for us is not based on our performance but on His promises and actions, particularly through the sacrifice of Jesus. Ultimately, he encouraged the congregation to trust in God's unchanging love, allowing that assurance to guide their lives as they step into the new year.
Kick off 2025 with Pastor Lester's inspiring message, "A Fresh Faith Start". In this episode, we dive into the basics of faith—what it is, why it pleases God, and how it connects heaven's power to your everyday life.
Tithing and living for something eternal are closely related. Tithing breaks our gaze from the things that are temporary to look towards things that are eternal. This is the final sermon from Pastor Austin's series on Malachi.
Today we live in an era of hope. Not hope in the world, but hope in Jesus. We remain susceptible to the refining judgement of the Lord, but through faith not the punitive judgement.
This week Pastor Austin continues his series in Malachi.
You are bound to act in self-indulgence and break the covenant order with God and others. But thanks be to Jesus who died in your place because “he remains faithful,” and he will not disown you. The promises you share with God are not bound together by your faithfulness, they are held together by God's faithfulness in Christ.
Pastor Austin begins a new series on Malachi today. Malachi's message ultimately is to return to the Lord, but what you see over and over is that God's love isn't given after his people turn towards him, but before.
Stephanie here! I have often found that, when I'm discouraged, or when I struggle to see things from the perspective that God might have on a situation, a relationship, maybe my own heart, I find it so useful to dig into Scripture and look at the stories of people in Scripture who may have experienced something similar. I also find that, beyond Scripture, it is useful to look at the lives of faithful men and women in history, saints who have really clung to God, and who have experienced so much of his goodness, his holiness, his beauty, his faithfulness, his kindness, his generosity. I love to spend time through biographies of these people of faith. I'm looking forward to meeting them in heaven and learning from them even more. Which means, I love when a new book comes out that invites me to do just that. And the book Portrait of God by Jack Mooring does just that. I'm welcoming Jack today. And he experienced the same thing that I'm describing to you. His book is a bit of a guidebook. It uses the stories of influential Christian figures like C.S. Lewis, Saint Augustine, Fanny Crosby, and so many more, to help us, believers, find stability in our faith amidst the chaos of this world. He and I chat about the fact that this world is pretty chaotic right now. This book and this conversation hope to be one of the tools that equips us in this ever-changing turbulent world we live in. Now, to recognize God's goodness in the midst of chaos, well, I know it can be challenging. Our faith can so often seem like a roller coaster as a result of that. Jack says, “I've learned that the Christian life is less about learning and more about remembering. I wrote this book to remind myself and the rest of us, forgetful people, that this is God whom we love and he really is who he says he is.” MORE ABOUT THE BOOK “PORTRAIT OF GOD In an ever-changing, often turbulent world, recognizing God's goodness can be challenging. Many Christians describe their faith as a rollercoaster, with seasons of feeling close to God and having a clear sense of His presence, and others where He seems distant. Author Jack Mooring experienced this personally, and by reflecting on and learning from the lives of the faithful men and women in history, he uncovered powerful reminders of God's unchanging truths. Mooring's new book, Portrait of God: Rediscovering the Attributes of God through the Stories of His People (David C Cook, August 6, 2024) serves as a guidebook, using the stories of influential Christian figures like C.S. Lewis and St. Augustine to help modern-day believers find stability in their faith amidst the chaos of the world. In Portrait of God, Mooring provides thought-provoking questions and a list of further readings about each faith leader, allowing readers to dig even deeper into the truths about the unchanging character of God. “I've learned that the Christian life is less about learning and more about remembering,” writes Mooring. “I grew up in a rich tradition of truth, but life's lies have often buried those true ideas about God. So I wrote this book to remind myself and the rest of us forgetful people that this God we love is really who He says He is. This book is an attempt to rediscover our wonder about who He is. For each attribute of God, I chose a person in church history who actually experienced that part of God's nature. The goal is that, as we hear the stories of these people, we can get a glimpse of God through their eyes.” Each chapter explores an attribute of God through a person in church history who radically experienced His nature, applying it as a brushstroke to our portrait. Readers will uncover: ● Faith: How an all-powerful God worked miracles in the life of Kathryn Kuhlman. ● Holiness: What Augustine of Hippo's life in a secular world teaches us about God. ● Compassion: How William and Catherine Booth's service to others radiated God's love. MORE ABOUT JACK MOORING Jack Mooring is a pastor, speaker, songwriter, and author. Beginning in ministry from an early age with his family, he and his brother went on to start the band LEELAND. Signing to Provident Music Group (A division of SONY BMG), the band released seven records, four of which received Grammy Nominations for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.” After touring full time and ministering around the world from 2005-2014, Jack left the band in order to pastor full time. For several years he served on the pastoral staff of two different churches before planting Celebration of Life Church: Nashville. Jack continues to make music as a songwriter signed with Integrity Music. As both a pastor and creative, Jack is passionate about communicating the gospel in a post-Christian culture. He resides in Franklin, TN with his wife Whitney and four children: Smith, Kate, Anthony, and Gabriel. (Genesis 4:25-26) Faith is something that has to be refreshed daily. You cannot live off of yesterday's faith. While we can have our faith strengthened through His word, God uses a variety of means to build our faith. Ask Him today to give you a fresh faith for the future. (0828240201)

The words of the song says, "The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows, The more that I love Him, more love He bestows; Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows, The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows." For some though, instead of deepening their relationship with Christ, a coolness grows. Church attendance becomes routine. Halleujah drones out and becomes nothing more than words of a song. Bible reading is perfunctory. Prayer time is a check off the list of things done. Church work is simply that ... church work. The scandals that erupt in church are often juicy and depressing -- Pastor so and so did this, the choir director did that. But what about the scandals in us? It's not that you're living a life rifled with sinful living, it's just ... you're going through the motions. You're experiencing with a coldness, a dryness, which leads to apathy. Is it because we're focused on doing this thing FOR the Lord? Are we merely performing? If that's the case, then how can we free ourselves from performance and have a real, in-depth relationship? If you feel your walk with Christ is dry, but you're not sure, you can take a self-assessment at https://www.freshfaith247.com. Do you want to stop the stage performance and experience the sweetness of serving the Lord once more? Join me as I chat with my returning guest co-host and contributor Jon Fugler as we discuss his newest book, Silence Your Inner Pharisee: Ditch Performance and Embrace Radical Freedom in Christ on Saturday, October 7th, at 2 pm Eastern time. Today, on Karl and Crew Mornings, we continued our weekly theme: "When God Moves", and we discussed boldly giving credit when He does. The scripture reference was Acts 3 (the story of the lame beggar). Peter boldly proclaimed that only Jesus deserved the credit for the healing of the lame beggar. Are we that bold to do the same? How do we respond when people don't accept or understand our answer? Our guest was Jon Fugler. He is the Founder and CEO of Fresh Faith 24/7. We highlighted his book, "Silence Your Inner Pharisee", and he unpacked his own testimony of overcoming performance Christianity. Shedding performance frees us in Christ to let God move in our lives, and points all glory and credit to Him. Hear the highlights of today's program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. What is faith? Can you define it with biblical clarity? Today Ron Moore offers a description of faith from the book of Hebrews that will help to keep your faith focused and new.
The Canteen features weekly sermons from the preaching ministry of Christ Community Church. This week, Pastor Blake continues our study in the Gospel of Luke by examining a series of miracles Jesus performed, and the fresh faith they cultivated in the lives of some very different people. Our text for this message is Luke 8:22-56. This sermon was originally preached at CCC on 6/25/23.
Today, on Karl and Crew Mornings, we discussed overcoming performance Christianity. What does it look like to arise above the notion that performance equals faith? It's not about what we do for Christ...it's living with Him (John 15:5). Our special guest was Jon Fugler. He is the Founder and CEO of Fresh Faith 24/7. We highlighted his book, "Silence Your Inner Pharisee", and he unpacked his own testimony of overcoming performance Christianity. The college softball World Series is underway. Three members of the women's University of Oklahoma softball team were interviewed, and we shared an amazing portion of when the players professed their faith. Kellie Copeland—author, speaker, and daughter of renowned televangelist Kenneth Copeland—joins Liz for a profound conversation about pursuing deeper intimacy with Jesus. The Lord is untangling His Bride from religion and wrong beliefs and inviting us instead into a real, authentic relationship with Him. We're stepping into a new day as a Church, and we're going to discover greater revelation of His Word than we've ever known before. Let a fresh faith and the purification of His love be activated in you today. “I believe that Jesus is talking to us very clearly if we'll let Him, and the Holy Spirit is confirming His presence, His Word.” - Kellie Copeland Kellie Copeland—author, speaker, and daughter of renowned televangelist Kenneth Copeland—joins Liz for a profound conversation about pursuing deeper intimacy with Jesus. In this season, the Church is being invited into even greater levels of union with the Lord—to know and be known by Him in every way. The Lord is untangling His Bride from religion and wrong beliefs and inviting us instead into a real, authentic relationship with Him. Sharing some powerful revelations and truths from her new book, Kellie explains that it can be easy to love the Lord and believe in Him without being fully connected in our hearts. While our spirits may be free and wiped clean from sin, our souls may still be bound in past pain or beliefs. When we take these places of weakness to Him, He can then cleanse us and remove any lies that the enemy has planted within us. Union with Jesus means being aligned with Him—spirit, soul, and body. We're stepping into a new day as a Church, and we're going to discover greater revelation of His Word than we've ever known before. It's not about achieving perfection in order to be in relationship with Jesus. It's about allowing Him to perfect us through a relationship with Him. It's through His presence that we attain perfection—this is what breaks off any kind of religious striving exhaustion. Let a fresh faith and the purification of His love be activated in you today.

When asked what he means by "fresh faith", author, podcaster, and radio ministry missionary, Jon Fugler, tells the story of how as an former athlete, it was too easy to transfer his quest for performance from sports over into being the "right kind of Christian doing all the right things." He felt empty no matter how he tried. Fresh faith was the result of a realization that Jesus Himself needs to be our main focus and how easy it is to "over shoot" Jesus while at the same time, trying to serve Him. You will be blessed! He has been writing for Christian audiences for 40 years, sharing simple truths that have had a profound impact on the lives of believers.
