The POSITIVELY JOY podcast is a delightful and inspiring show hosted by Yvette. With a warm and friendly demeanor, Yvette creates an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you're sitting down for a chat with a close friend. The best aspect of this podcast is the uplifting and encouraging content it provides. Yvette's guests share stories of faith, resilience, and finding joy in everyday life, leaving listeners feeling hopeful and inspired. The episodes cover a range of topics, from strategies for decision making to sharing the love of God through baking. Each session is full of encouragement, joy, and lessons learned that touch the hearts of all who listen.
While the POSITIVELY JOY podcast has many positive aspects, there are few downsides to mention. Sometimes the episodes may lack a bit of variety in terms of guest backgrounds or perspectives, which could make the show even more inclusive and relatable to a wider audience. Additionally, some listeners might prefer shorter episodes as not everyone has enough time in their day to commit to longer discussions.
In conclusion, the POSITIVELY JOY podcast is an excellent resource for believers and those seeking answers. Yvette's ability to bring joy and shine the light of Jesus on any topic is truly remarkable. This show leaves listeners feeling hopeful, inspired, and encouraged in their faith journey. Whether it's hearing stories about God at work in people's lives or learning about practical strategies for finding joy every day, this podcast delivers content that is both meaningful and uplifting. It is definitely worth tuning in to experience the positivity and joy that radiates from each episode.
We're pivoting here at the Positively Joy podcast to a topic that many women will find incredibly relevant. Relationships. The Lord has put on my heart to talk about my own difficult divorce and journey back to joy, a journey where God was my everything. I remember how hard it was, and in these upcoming seasons we'll get real and talk about the hurt, the pain, the loss and freedom in Jesus. After 13 years of marriage to a man with bipolar depression, I found myself lost in the aftermath of our divorce. The emotional toll of navigating his illness left me drained and questioning my worth. In my search for joy, Psalm 91 became my refuge. The words, “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge,” spoke deeply to my wounded heart. Through faith, self-reflection, and God's protection, I discovered that joy isn't dependent on circumstances. It's a choice. By leaning on His promises, I found love for myself, peace in His presence, and joy in the small, everyday moments. I hope you join us, and share this with those you think need to hear these conversations. It's still Positively Joy, but more.

Beth Thorp, after the loss of her son, Mitchell, started a foundation with her husband. The foundation would go on to help other children with illnesses, diagnosed or not, find healing. Now she coaches high-achieving women, helping them achieve success without sacrificing health and well-being. Karin's website Six Secrets to Get Unstuck

Going back into the archives, I promised to focus more on prayer in 2022 in this throwback episode. Did I do it? Well, I can say for sure I brought God into my daily life, but I still have some work to do on my prayer life. Talking to God is so important, and you - and I - should do it more often. I hope this inspires you! Some ways to put prayer front and center: Practice daily journaling and speak to him while you do it. Try using my new book, "Journaling His Joy." Other books mentioned in the show are "Adventures in Prayer" and "Follow Me" by Mary Jo Pierce, and "Whispering in His Ear" by me, Yvette Walker. Make a place for your prayer time, as mentioned in "Adventures in Prayer." Have a wonderful, safe and inspiring New Year! Positively Joy is back next week with new interviews!
Years ago, Positively Joy featured the angelic voice of Angel McCoy from the podcast, Angel Reads the Bible. Angel has a beautiful family now and has been pretty busy. But I coaxed her to come back and do a reading from Luke, chapters 1 and 2 in these days leading up to Christmas. There is never a wrong time to hear the Christmas story, but now is just right. It's not too late to jump into my Christmas countdown on Substack.com. Just look up Positively Joy under publications. I have a weekly newsletter, so subscribe.
This week, our conversation is about forgiveness, and it's a really unique episode. Could you forgive your grandmother's killer? Today's guest is Sarah Gregory, and her story is hard to fathom. She has forgiven the man who murdered her grandmother, but not only that, spent hours with him on death row the day he was executed. Her forgiveness wasn't automatic, though, and she had a long, hard road to get there. Bruce Springsteen's music plays a role, believe it or now. Sarah's "Set Lusting Bruce" episode

Ashley Ashcraft posted a heartfelt message on Facebook. She and her husband had just been told that the baby inside her most likely had Down syndrome. What struck me was the joy, trust and faith she presented, and the knowledge that her baby – no matter what happened – was a gift from God. Her baby was born early and is the intensive care unit, right where Ashley recorded this interview. Please pray for Ashley and her newborn, Finley. Ashley is praying "The Magnificat," Mary's prayer to magnify God. She would like it if you would pray with her. The Magnificat, or Mary's Song And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name. 50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. 51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. 52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful 55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.” Luke 1:46-55

It's Mother's Day on Sunday. My mother left this earth two decades ago and I think of her often. Today, I'll tell you about my fondest and strongest memory of her, sharing faith and being in church together. Bonus: A new song release! Song lyrics to "My Mother's Hands" Beautiful lady, we bow before the altar You're my everything I'm your little daughter Every Sunday, your hand in mine. I remember... Chorus My mother's hands, so warm so soft Not perfect, no, but strong enough My mother's hands, caring but worn You carried me from the day I was born Standing in this church, I see you as a saint To others you're a servant, helping everyone You're out the door, there's so much to be done. But I remember… My mother's hands, so warm so soft Not perfect, no, but strong enough My mother's hands, caring but worn Those hands held me till I was grown She never forgot me; Here's what she taught me Love justice, mercy and walk ever so humbly And now, I'm all that's left of … My mother's hands, so warm so soft Not perfect no but strong enough My mother's hands caring but worn She carried me till I was grown.
