In this episode, Pastor Karl kicks off a new 10-week sermon series diving into the letters of 1st and 2nd Timothy. Speaking on Mother's Day, he highlights the powerful influence of faithful mothers and grandmothers, drawing from Timothy's own story, shaped by his mother, Eunice, and grandmother, Lois. Pastor Karl emphasizes the core theme of these letters: what a Jesus community believes—its doctrine—directly shapes how it lives. Exploring 1st Timothy Chapter 1, he unpacks Paul's charge to Timothy, a young leader in Ephesus, to remain steadfast in a challenging environment, teaching sound doctrine and resisting cultural confusion. Pastor Karl outlines six reasons to "remain" in faith: hard places need hard truth, God's people are needed, God uses unworthy people, we serve a great God, the battle for faith is too important to surrender, and some have already fallen away. With passion, he calls the church to stand under Scripture, guard doctrine, and trust in God's grace to live faithfully. Warning: Those who fall away from Christ should expect a greater judgement.
By Pastor Kenneth Harbuam
We must carefully consider how our gathering as believers is essential for steadfast faith.
The priestly work of Christ empowers steadfast faith.
Let’s begin to take those small steps of faith, knowing that every step, big or small, matters in His Kingdom. Second Baptist Church - Houston, TX | In 1 Peter 3, Peter addresses an age-old issue: cultural push-back in the form of questioning, shaming, and mockery. He encourages the believers to endure, specifically by telling them what to expect, how to prepare, and where to hope.
By offering His life as the perfect sacrifice, Jesus has secured our full and final forgiveness before God.
In Acts 21:1-36, we encounter a chapter filled with a man earnestly pursuing the will of the Lord. As the Apostle Paul journeys to Jerusalem, he gains deeper insight into God's purposes for his life: some expected others surprising. Yet through it all, one truth remains clear: Paul understood that God's will for him was to walk in the footsteps of his Savior. What we learn in these three scenes are qualities each of us might pray for as we seek to have “The Will of the Lord Be Done” in our lives: 1. A Submissive Heart to God's Leading, 2. A Sacrificial Love for the Church, and 3. A Steadfast Faith in All Circumstances.
The once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ is life-changing.

This first episode has kind of turned into a verse-by-verse exposition of James 1:1-12. That was not my intention, but there is just so much meat on the bone and my grandma told me “Don't never leave no meat on the bone, girl!” Now, she was literally talking about meals, but I believe Grandma's wisdom applies here. The book of James is a whole feast. You hungry? Let's dig in! How do you find joy when your faith is being tested? In this transformative episode of the Jaime Luce Podcast, we tackle this profound question through the lens of the book of James. Our discussion begins with understanding how to maintain faith and hope during times of sorrow and trials, emphasizing the temporary nature of hardships and God's power to bring life and healing to any situation. As we engage deeply with scripture, we reflect on the experiences of dispersed Jewish believers facing persecution, finding strength and joy through faith in their trying times. With an attitude of steadfastness, personal growth can be achieved even in the face of challenges. This episode highlights the importance of seeking wisdom from God, who guides and supports us through life's trials. By trusting and submitting to God's wisdom, we can navigate difficult situations more effectively, preparing ourselves for the blessings He has in store. We explore how to remain steadfast in trials, embodying joy through our faith and actions. Our journey continues by examining the profound connection between faith, works, and trials. Drawing from biblical examples like Abraham, Daniel, and Job, we unpack the concept of joy as a choice and source of strength. Jesus is worthy of more glory than any earthly servant, including Moses.
In James 1:6-8, believers are urged to maintain unwavering faith, as doubt leads to instability and hinders blessings. Doubt undermines trust in God's promises, causing spiritual disorientation. A double-minded person lacks stability and consistency. Cultivating unwavering faith entails anchoring oneself in God's Word, prayer, and community support. Reflection and prayer are emphasized for strengthening faith and supporting others. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dailyrowe/support
