How do you find joy when life feels overwhelming? In this episode of the Jaime Luce Podcast, we dive into the book of James to uncover the powerful truth that trials are not meant to break us but to build steadfast faith. James urges believers to “count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds” because the testing of faith produces endurance and maturity. Drawing from her own experiences and the Word of God, Jaime shows how joy is not a denial of pain but a choice to trust in God's promises. Through scripture, personal stories, and encouragement, you'll learn: - Why trials strengthen and refine your faith - How asking God for wisdom brings direction in times of uncertainty - Why joy is a powerful source of spiritual strength - What it means to live out your faith with action, not just words - How Jesus Himself endured suffering “for the joy set before Him” (Hebrews 12:2) If you are weary, discouraged, or facing challenges, this message will remind you that God is faithful. Sorrow is temporary, but His joy is eternal.

In this powerful sermon, Pastor Karl delves into the final words of the Apostle Paul from 2 Timothy 4, as he faces imminent death in a Roman prison. Reflecting on a life fully devoted to Christ, Paul charges Timothy—and all believers—to guard sound doctrine and guide others to it, even in a world that increasingly rejects truth. Pastor Karl unpacks Paul's call to "preach the word" with urgency, reprove and correct with patience, and do the work of an evangelist, sharing the good news of Jesus. He emphasizes living with no reserve, no retreat, and no regret, fighting the good fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith. Through vivid imagery and personal anecdotes, Pastor Karl challenges listeners to embrace their God-given purpose, forgive as Christ forgave, and live a life that counts for the Kingdom, no matter the cost.Watch all our sermons on our YouTube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

In Acts 21:1-36, we encounter a chapter filled with a man earnestly pursuing the will of the Lord. As the Apostle Paul journeys to Jerusalem, he gains deeper insight into God's purposes for his life: some expected others surprising. Yet through it all, one truth remains clear: Paul understood that God's will for him was to walk in the footsteps of his Savior. What we learn in these three scenes are qualities each of us might pray for as we seek to have “The Will of the Lord Be Done” in our lives: 1. A Submissive Heart to God's Leading, 2. A Sacrificial Love for the Church, and 3. A Steadfast Faith in All Circumstances.
The once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ is life-changing.

This first episode has kind of turned into a verse-by-verse exposition of James 1:1-12. That was not my intention, but there is just so much meat on the bone and my grandma told me “Don't never leave no meat on the bone, girl!” Now, she was literally talking about meals, but I believe Grandma's wisdom applies here. The book of James is a whole feast. You hungry? Let's dig in!
