We discuss Denver homegrowns in the NHL. Brady Tkachuk will be taking Batherson's place at the All Star game, and it is deserved. The Bill Kelly Show Podcast: More than 300 Ontario schools reported staff and student absences of more than 30 per cent by the end of last week, after students returned for in-person learning following the latest pandemic-related shutdown. But the data includes all absences, not just those that might be related to COVID-19, making it tough to gauge the impact of the Omicron variant on Ontario's school system now that the province is no longer publicly reporting cases in schools. ALSO: Hamilton's six schools with highest absenteeism rates GUEST: Dawn Danko, Chair of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board - Ontario Premier Doug Ford met Sunday with leaders of rural, remote and northern communities to discuss their housing challenges as issues of rapid price growth and lack of supply are felt far beyond urban borders. The talks came after the premier and Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Steve Clark hosted a virtual housing summit recently with big-city mayors. Clark said Sunday's meeting was an “opportunity to collaborate and co-ordinate” with smaller, rural, northern and remote municipalities on how the government can address the housing supply crisis. GUEST: Robin Jones, Mayor of the village of Westport in eastern Ontario and Chair of the Rural Ontario Municipal Association - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's cabinet is weighing whether to ship small weapons like firearms and ammunition to Ukraine at the three-day virtual retreat underway now, sources tell Global News. Start your week off with a brand new episode of The DFO Rundown with Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli. To start things off, the two talked about the racist incident that occurred in the ECHL on Saturday night involving Jacob Panetta and Jordan Subban. From there, they hit on the NHL's iron man streak, which Keith Yandle could break tonight with game 965. It's currently held by Doug Jarvis and Frank interviewed him for a story on Daily Faceoff earlier this week. Also, what's the latest on the Flyers (will they move Claude Giroux?) and a new edition of Buy or Sell with Tyler Yaremchuk. After that, Gregor had a chance to chat with Team USA Women's Hockey Head Coach Joel Johnson. He's not just a hockey coach and has led golf and soccer teams at the collegiate level. He talked about how he adapts, what lessons he carries over, and his coaching philosophies.
TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston joined OverDrive earlier today and got into a number of things including the hiring of Émilie Castonguay by the Canucks, the Leafs line shuffle & and the investigation into Jacob Panetta following his alleged racial gesture over the weekend.

Almost through July and steaming toward the Olympic break, we keep on with the hockey talk. Both the AHL and the ECHL have had incidents involving players making racial gestures at another player. While Krystof Hrabik was suspended 30 games in the AHL, the ECHL is still conducting its investigation into Jacob Panetta. We break down a list of players that have a $5m cap hit and have played less than 20 games. Not a small list. We talk Philly and Seattle issues and what to fix. Montreal has a new GM, Kent Hughes, and we talk about the needs for the Habs. DeBrusk is still a Bruin. Marchand lives in the 'Canes' heads rent free and Chicago has 3 untouchables that don't include DeBrincat, Kubalik and Dach. Could Evander Kane end up on the Caps? And finally, is Tuukka still "elite"? So much to take in! Tell us what you think and Enjoy the Show!
Abbott Girduckis and Jacob Panetta of the ECHL's Jacksonville Icemen talk about their similar, yet different paths from the Quinte Red Devils to the Wellington Dukes to the NCAA and on to pro hockey.
