In this week's show we discuss Comedian Tim Dillon's recent interview with Joe Rogan on his podcast. During the conversation influential Spotify podcaster and social commentator Joe Rogan made the following statement "most of his (Alex Jones') predictions have come true..." Sam Granger a fan of Rogan and Joe Balog our religion and spirituality commentator and I discuss the repercussions of this statement and the issues related to this topic. Alex Jones is a provocateur and conspiracy prognosticator who for years has supported or spearheaded racist, Anti-Semitic, seditious, religiously intolerant and triumphalist claims which have no correlation with reality and/or are based on little evidence or facts. He did not only get sued by the surviving parents of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, but according to a RollingStone article he has pushed hateful conspiracies such as Birtherism Conspiracy ( Barack Obama citizenship), 911 Truth (terrorist attack being an inside job), Government Weather Manipulation, Sexual Orientation and Identity Reassignment Experiments on Mass Population, Demonic Overtake of Government Officials,  Etc. Two other important recent issues not often discussed is that Jones was a supporter of QAnon and the biggest proponent of the "Stop the Steal Conspiracy" which led to the January 6 attack on the capitol building and attempt to stop the certification of the peaceful transition of power after the 2020 election. Just out of high school, he won the first-ever Bassmaster Federation Regional event held on Lake Erie.He has won several hundred thousand dollars fishing Erie and St. Clair. He won a BASS Open on Erie, and 4 or 5 BFL events, along with dozens of other tournaments. His real contribution to the world of smallmouth fishing was his big water ingenuity and product advancement. Joe was a research and development staffer for Johnson Outdoors for 20 years. They used him to test all their big water stuff - He was the first to use Side Imaging on Lake Ere, they tested the performance and strength of their chargers and Talon mounts on his boat, and he helped design and test the Ultrex trolling motor - the entire idea of that motor was from himself and Koby Krieger.In addition, He was the originator of the first goby fishing lure - ever. The Poor Boys goby was his design, and sold millions of baits. In this week's show Joe Balog, a member of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church and frequent guest on the program, and I discuss Astrotheology. This topic was raised when reviewing the book Reversing Hermon by Dr. Michael Heiser. In the book he brings up how Greek Astrology points to the birth of Jesus based on the Book of Revelation. We unpack these claims and argue an alternative to this interpretation and the idea that demons can engage in sexual unions with humans the basis of his book.

In this week show our topic is Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Our guest is Joe Balog, who obtained a B.A. in Sustainable Business and took several courses on this subject. In spring 2017 a representative of the maligned conglomerate Monsanto appeared in the TV show 'Bill Nye Saves the World' which is available on Netflix. During the episode entitled "More Food, Less Hype" host Bill Nye pushes the consumption of GMOs and portrays Monsanto as a victim of bad press. He also shows no scientific data to support his claims that GMOs are good for society and that there is nothing wrong with them. In our show we usually debunk conspiracies, but in this case we must side with people who demonize GMOs as Bill Nye in his popular show claims to be scientific, but supports a positive perspective regarding GMOs with no scientific data, experiments or new information. This is what alternative new sources would call disinformation. Especially, as the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Monsanto Dr. Robert T. Fraley and the farmer on the show proclaim that GMOs are safe, again with absolutely no evidence. They also use the internet as a way to change the conversation and post commercials for their products disguised as articles. We discuss the different rites practiced by Judaism, Catholicism and Eastern Christianity. Our featured guests Sam Granger, Joe Balog and I discuss different interpretations such as the burning bush with the Madonna and child. The virgin symbolized by the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament. In church history there is a division of the Apostolic, Patristic, medieval and modern periods. We also discussed personal revelation. In Judaism Moses is seen as a legal codifier and prophet however in the New Testament book of Hebrews, usually attributed to Apostle Paul says the following “He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward” (Hebrews 11:26). The Orthodox Church architectural design includes a screen of Icons that separates their Holy of Holies from their naïve. We discussed the character of Melchizedek in the Bible and the origins of Christian priesthood. We also address the role of women and the different responsibilities of roles of congregants.

We start the second half of our third season discussing the redeeming aspects and issues of the latest installment in the StarWars saga. We look back at the hero journey of Anakin and Luke Skywalker and how this movie turns the beloved younger Skywalker Jedi into a hermit, who turns out to be even less likable than the anti-hero who becomes Darth Vader in the prequels. Joe Balog and I explore the New Age elements of this version of StarWars which seems to undermine the original Zen mysticism of the previous films. The rigorous training of Jedi order is also dismissed and new “force” powers are introduced in this movie which anyone can tap into with no effort. We ask ourselves what is the new director's intention in destroying the StarWars mythology? Was his goal to make the story more contemporary?How are fans supposed to stay interested if this movie departs from the morality play and becomes absurd?, etc. We try to answer these and more questions on this week show…

We explore the claims of ChristianVeg.org (The Christian Vegetarian Association or CVA) Which is an international,non-denomination ministry of Christians who respectfully encourage healthy, God-honoring plant-based nutrition. Although we did not contact them for the show their pamphlet inspired this show. We talk about the scientific, social and religious implications of being vegan including theories about Jesus and his disciples being vegan.

In this week’s show we discuss the new Alien film Alien Covenant with Joe Balog , our expert in Roman Catholic demonology. The new prequels Prometheus and Alien Covenant are under attack on Youtube as demonic and proof that the film industry is made up of Satanists who are sharing their occult beliefs through movies. We discuss the impact of film on religious folks, how one YouTube documentary makes it seem that the devil is taking over the film industry, and how this type of theology turns religion into a dungeons and dragons type of battle. In Alien Covenant and Prometheus, Ridley Scott expands the Alien mythology and address greater questions such as the Panspermia hypothesis (the idea that ancient aliens brought about human life); as well man’s relationship with nature, creation destroying it’s creator and biological warfare. We also discuss the design of the Alien creature or xenomorph which comes from HR Geiger artistic creations. These designs are heavily criticized by these YouTube Christian reviewers who don’t seem to be familiar with the psychology behind these dark artistic works.

In this week’s show we discuss the child abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church and review the film “Spotlight” with our Catholic friend Joe Balog. Why has the largest Christian church not taken this type of abuse seriously? In this episode address the issues around religious authority and lack of oversight. In this type of abuse there is an intrinsic attack on the soul of the individuals, which cannot be ignored. In the film, they discuss the number of predators working as priests to be as many as 6% among Catholic religious leaders. With compassion and sensitivity to the victims and their families we discuss the implications of this film, which is based on a true story.

In this week’s show we review the Fox TV Series “The Exorcist” which just completed it’s first season and is now available on Hulu. Based on the hit 1973 film by the same name (from a novel by William Peter Blatty), the show follows Father Tomas Ortega and Father Marcus Keane both exorcists from the Roman Catholic Church. The main victim of possession is Casey Rance daughter of Angela Rance played Geena Davis who is actually Regan MacNeil from the original story. The show expands “The Exorcist” universe to include other plot twists such as a plan to assassinate the Pope by a secret society made up of church leaders, a group of demons who are trying to take over Chicago by stealing organs from residents of poor neighborhoods and a group of rebel nuns that perform exorcism outside of official approval. The Salesman / Captain Howdy or Pazuzu, is depicted as an elderly gentleman who appears to Regan while playing with a Ouija board. Our guest Joe Balog, offers his perspective on the show and discusses the rite of possession including the litany of the Virgin Mary which is mentioned on the show and is not usually used for demonic possession.
