Matt explains sleep inertia - the groggy transition to wakefulness - noting that waking is a process, not a switch, and that brain regions activate at different speeds. While the core wakes fast, the prefrontal cortex, which handles judgment, remains foggy for 15 minutes. This window can leave you more impaired than after an all-nighter.He suggests a toolkit: use bright light, time caffeine for waking, and keep naps under 20 minutes. Matt also recommends melodic alarms and warns that the snooze button just results in deepening the fog. Crucially, he advises a 15-minute buffer before making big decisions to allow every brain system to fully restart. Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. From ultra-processed foods and pesticides to environmental toxins, pharmaceuticals, and chronic disease, it can feel overwhelming to try to make sense of it all - - - especially when our health "authorities" seem to continuously change their minds about what's good for us and what's killing us - - - and everything seems to be poison now. In this eye-opening conversation, Jamie Belz, FNTP, MHC, sits down with veteran pediatrician, integrative physician, author, speaker, and health freedom fighter, and author Dr. Michelle Perro, MD, DHom, to discuss one of the biggest questions of today: How do we pursue true health in an increasingly toxic world? Drawing from more than four decades of clinical experience, Dr. Perro shares her perspective on the growing health challenges affecting children and adults alike, why so many people are searching for answers outside conventional approaches, and what practical steps individuals can take to reclaim their health. Together, Jamie and Michelle dive into topics including: • What's making our children sick and how we can begin making them well • Glyphosate, GMOs, fluoride, and environmental toxic burden • The MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) movement and why it continues to gain momentum • Why curiosity is one of the most important skills we can develop in today's world • The importance of critical thinking and informed decision-making • Finding trustworthy health information in an age of information overload • Lyme disease, chronic illness, and environmental health concerns • The role of food as the foundation of physical and mental wellness • Transhumanism, AI, technology, and the future of human health • Why community matters when pursuing a different path toward wellness • How young people can become empowered advocates for their own health • Why the choices we make today may impact future generations One of the most powerful themes throughout this conversation is the idea that health is often visible. Spend time around people who prioritize nutrient-dense food, clean water, movement, sunshine, meaningful relationships, and foundational wellness, and you'll often notice a difference. There is a vibrance, energy, resilience, and optimism that stands out. Jamie and Michelle discuss how surrounding yourself with people who value health can accelerate your own journey and help you stay the course when the path feels unconventional. Whether it's attending a health conference, joining a local Weston A. Price chapter, connecting with practitioners, or simply finding friends who share similar values, this episode highlights the importance of finding community and support as you pursue a healthier life. Most importantly, this conversation is a reminder that lasting change starts with paying attention. Asking questions. Staying curious. Learning to think critically. And taking ownership of the choices that shape your health and the future health of those around you. Please subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode! About Michelle Perro, MD Dr. Michelle Perro is a veteran pediatrician with more than 40 years of clinical experience caring for children and families. And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave SmithListener discretion advised — this episode contains strong language and highly controversial opinions. In this fiery and wide-ranging episode of And Another Thing with Dave, host Dave Smith delivers a passionate wake-up call on multiple fronts that he believes threaten humanity and American sovereignty.Dave warns about the dangers of occult practices and “magic” — opening Pandora's box by inviting uncontrollable entities for fame and wealth. He draws parallels to reckless experiments like CERN's supercollider, Fauci's gain-of-function research, Bill Gates' GMOs, and the unchecked rise of AI.The conversation heats up around toxic “biosolids” (treated human fecal matter full of pharmaceuticals) being used as fertilizer on Texas farms, destroying livelihoods, poisoning soil, and contaminating groundwater. Dave calls this deliberate biological warfare on the food supply and ties it to massive data centers (like the proposed Utah project) that will consume millions of gallons of water daily while creating toxic sludge.Additional hard-hitting topics include:Cultural degeneracy, drag queen storytime, and sexualization of children in schools“Zionist-occupied government” infiltration (citing Congressman Thomas Massie)Alleged IDF atrocities, psychological warfare, and spiritual critiquesThe need for Americans to take local action, run for office, and replace corrupt officialsEmbracing Jesus' teachings, rejecting distractions, and choosing action over reactionRaw, unfiltered, and intense, Dave urges listeners to do their own research, connect the dots, and resist what he sees as coordinated attacks on farmland, water, culture, and freedom.#Biosolids #HumanPoopFertilizer #DataCenters #AIWaterCrisis #OccultMagic #CERN #ZionistOccupiedGovernment #ThomasMassie #TexasFarms #FoodSupplyAttack #CulturalDegeneracy #WakeUpAmerica #AndAnotherThing #DaveSmith #Agenda2030 #PandorasBox #GreatReset #aatwd #AATWD

Matt examines "revenge bedtime procrastination," where individuals voluntarily delay sleep to reclaim autonomy. Distinguishing this "unlocked door" from the "locked door" of insomnia, he uses global data to explain how smartphones and low agency trigger this behavior which then leads to chronic sleep debt and impaired cognitive function.Matt goes on to link sleep irregularity to all-cause mortality, noting how inconsistent timing compromises long-term health. He offers such solutions as "implementation intentions" - ‘If-Then' plans - proven in trials to reduce delay. By addressing chronotype conflict and the "Monday effect," our host provides a scientific protocol to align biological rhythms for restorative sleep. Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. In this episode of the AgCulture Podcast, Paul sits down with Bob Miller, founder of Miller Hybrids, to unpack what it really takes to build a seed company in an industry dominated by global giants. From his early days in plant breeding to launching his own company in the middle of industry consolidation, Bob shares a perspective that challenges much of how modern seed is developed, tested, and sold. This conversation dives deep into why most seed is bred for “perfect conditions” instead of real farms, how Miller Hybrids tests genetics differently to create more stable performance, and why conventional corn is quietly making a comeback. Bob also breaks down the economics behind traits, the real role of GMOs, and where farmers may be overpaying for protection they don't actually need.If you've ever wondered whether bigger companies actually mean better seed—or what the future of genetics, CRISPR, and farm profitability really looks like—this episode will make you think differently about every seed decision you make.MEET THE GUESTBob Miller is a respected corn breeder and the founder and owner of Miller Hybrids, a family-owned seed company based in Kalona, Iowa.Born on a dairy and crop farm in northwest Ohio, Miller developed an early fascination with corn hybrids and their ability to handle stress and maximize yields. He built a distinguished career as a corn breeder with major seed companies, including Syngenta, where he developed successful commercial inbred lines and hybrids. His work emphasized improved emergence, yield stability, and drought tolerance. In 2005, he founded Miller Hybrids (originally B.O.B. Seeds, standing for "Best of the Best") to create a more hands-on, farmer-focused operation. As owner, president, and research director, Miller leads the company's breeding and testing programs. He develops corn hybrids tailored for the average farm, rigorously testing them across diverse soil types, stress conditions, and real-world environments like corn-on-corn rotations.Miller is deeply committed to empowering farmers. He believes in building reliable products that raise farm averages rather than chasing only top-end yields in ideal conditions. His family company (with his wife Pam) emphasizes personal attention, direct access to the breeder, and genetics that deliver stable, high performance for everyday growers.Through Miller Hybrids, Bob continues his lifelong passion for practical plant breeding, blending decades of industry expertise with the independence of a family business to support American agriculture. To learn more about Miller Hybrids, check out their website: https://www.millerhybrids.com/

Matt delves into how daily light exposure dictates our sleep quality and how improper lighting can derail perfect sleep hygiene. He explains that our brain's internal clock naturally drifts backward by 14 minutes daily, requiring a corrective signal like outdoor sunlight before 10:00 a.m. to act as a crucial biological anchor for timing the eventual release of sleep-regulating hormones like melatonin. Moving to the evening, Matt unpacks how artificial lighting combats our biology by suppressing melatonin. Citing research by Dr. Michael Gradisar, he clarifies that standard room lighting biologically disrupts circadian rhythms far more than smartphone screens, which instead harm sleep by behaviorally engaging us past bedtime. Ultimately, Matt offers a simple, cost-free framework for better sleep: seek morning daylight and keep evening environments below 10 lux. Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. This episode of Maximize Your Hunt delves into the restoration of the American chestnut, a tree that once thrived across North America but was nearly wiped out by a blight in the early 20th century. Host Jon Teater discusses the differences between transgenic and hybrid chestnuts with experts Dr. Andy Newhouse and Tim Russell, exploring the science behind genetic modification, public perception of GMOs, and the ecological importance of chestnuts. The conversation emphasizes the need for community involvement in restoration efforts and the potential for future research to enhance our understanding of chestnut management. Takeaways The American chestnut was once a dominant species in North America. Transgenic chestnuts are developed to resist blight more effectively than hybrids. Public perception of GMOs can be negative, but education is key. Restoration efforts require careful planning and community involvement. Deer can significantly impact the growth of young chestnut trees. Transgenic trees can cross-pollinate with wild types, aiding restoration. Research on chestnuts can lead to new ecological insights. Planting hybrids can provide immediate benefits for wildlife. The regulatory process for transgenic trees is rigorous and necessary. Support for organizations like ACR is crucial for restoration efforts.   Social https://www.americanchestnut.org/ www.esf.edu/chestnut/ https://whitetaillandscapes.com/ https://www.facebook.com/whitetaillandscapes/ https://www.instagram.com/whitetail_landscapes/?hl=en Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Exploring the science of binaural beats, Matt evaluates their potential to improve sleep. Tracing their discovery back to 1838, Matt explains that a binaural beat isn't a physical sound, but a "ghost tone" generated deep within the brainstem. When slightly different frequencies are played into each ear, the brain creates a phantom beat that closely mirrors the delta waves of deep sleep.Moving beyond the hype, Matt reviews what clinical polysomnography studies actually reveal about these audio illusions. He explains how they differ from white noise, clarifies the debate around brainwave entrainment, and emphasizes why stereo headphones are strictly required. Finally, Matt shares science-backed guidelines, recommending delta frequencies (1-4 Hertz) for at least 30 minutes to help soothe a restless mind. Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. Dr. Tony Ebel delivers a long-awaited, deeply personal, and scientifically complete breakdown of MTHFR and methylation — and why the way most people are talking about it is leaving families more scared and more stuck than ever. Drawing from his background in molecular biology, his time as a farm kid watching the rise of GMO agriculture, and a pivotal encounter with Dr. Bruce Lipton's epigenetics work in chiropractic school, Dr. Tony reframes MTHFR not as a life sentence, but as one piece of a much bigger puzzle. He shares practical strategies like using bright light during shifts, wearing amber-tinted glasses on the commute home, taking precise 10-minute mid-shift naps, and eating high-protein meals at night. Joel Salatin is a self-described, “Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist lunatic farmer.” If that confuses you, that's the point. But Joel explains how every part of that moniker is purposeful, and it all starts with Christ. He explains how his livestock farming has become a living classroom for gospel truths of mercy, provision, and redemption. He teaches Glenn about the “glory of the pig,” the importance of earthworm health over Wall Street, and why a non-chemical farm that skips vaccines and GMOs better reflects the Creator's design. Glenn asks why beef prices are so high and Joel proclaims that's its time for a “food emancipation proclamation." From Big Pharma to GMOs to the rise of ultra-processed, toxic foods, we break down what's really happening inside the modern health system and whether it's failing us, or functioning exactly as designed. Joining us is Troy Casey, also known as the Certified Health Nut, who has spent decades studying natural health, detoxification, and what it actually takes to take control of your body. But this conversation doesn't stop at food and medicine. We also dive into the deeper side of health, exploring the connection between mind, body, and spirit, including meditation, consciousness, and even interdimensional and spiritual concepts that challenge the way most people think about reality. Matt delves into the fascinating science of "natural short sleepers," the rare 1-3% of the population genetically wired to thrive on just four to six hours of sleep. He unpacks the research that moved from scientific skepticism to the discovery of specific gene mutations, like DEC2 and ADRB1, responsible for this unique biological trait. This isn't a lifestyle choice, but a distinct genetic reality for a very small few.Matt explains how these genes allow for a form of "biological compression," where the brain accomplishes sleep's full restorative and cognitive benefits in less time. The episode draws a critical distinction between these genuine short sleepers and the millions who are simply sleep-deprived. This science challenges the "hustle culture" myth that less sleep is a virtue, reinforcing why 7-9 hours remains a biological necessity for the vast majority of us.Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. Jensen shares his own journey transitioning a 560-acre farm away from chemicals, the financial risks involved, and what he's learned after nearly a decade of trial and error. They also dive into bigger questions:Are we sacrificing nutrition for efficiency? Why is “cheap food” potentially costing us more than we realize? Can regenerative farming actually scale—and be profitable? And what role does government policy play in shaping the food system? From soil microbes to supermarket shelves, this episode connects the dots between agriculture, economics, and human health—and asks whether the system feeding us is quietly working against us.Support the show

Matt explores the frustrating reality of non-restorative sleep, explaining why up to a third of adults get a full night's rest but wake up exhausted. Using a relatable example, Matt shows how this hidden epidemic is often dismissed by normal sleep studies, despite being a clinical condition linked to anxiety, depression, and cardiovascular issues. He highlights how medicine is just starting to take this seriously.Delving into brain research, Matt explains how disrupted deep sleep, sleep inertia, and social jetlag cause this daytime fog. Crucially, he proposes a paradigm shift: treating non-restorative sleep as a daytime wakefulness disorder rather than a nighttime one. By focusing on daytime alertness instead of just hours in bed, Matt offers a radical new framework for understanding persistent exhaustion and evolving sleep medicine. Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.In a supplement industry where trust is critical, Matt uses podcast supporter Puori. In this episode of Get Real or Die Trying, host Amadon DellErba sits down with Brit Arthur—founder of http://AutoimmuneDiseaseAwareness.com, CEO and designer of BeachCandy Organics (the trailblazing organic swimwear brand), holistic healer, and creator of the Feast to Wellness Protocol—for a fierce, unfiltered confrontation with autoimmune disease and the toxic systems designed to keep us dependent and unwell. Filmed on-location at Avalon EcoVillage.Brit delivers her story without apology: decades of hidden suffering—asthma, acne, body odor, gut chaos, and escalating inflammation that exploded into spinal autoimmune disease at 34, complete with genetic markers and CRP levels screaming cancer territory. Doctors pushed lifelong steroid injections and heavy pharma; she endured a year of minimal gains before walking away in fury at a system that silences symptoms instead of healing roots. She plunged into gut biome research, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, herbalism, detox protocols, and non-toxic truth—then committed fully to plant-based living, toxin elimination, and radical simplicity. The shift was explosive: joint pain and immobility dissolved in days. From needing help to turn doorknobs and being carried from bed, she climbed 8 grueling miles with a 60-pound pack months later. Her Feast to Wellness Protocol—165+ anti-inflammatory, medicinal recipes plus daily detox rituals—has now empowered over 30,000 people globally to claim symptom-free lives from every corner of the planet.Amadon and Brit tear into the heart of it:The medical and food industries that suppress rather than solve—pushing seed oils, ultra-processed garbage, mycotoxin-laden grains, GMOs, pork's toxin accumulation, and endless chemicals while ignoring root causes like glyphosate, plastics, and emotional baggageShattering hustle culture, plastic dependency, restaurant traps, and inflammatory poisons that quietly destroy usThe freedom of minimalism in India, authentic Ayurvedic immersion, copper-charged water, farmers market allegiance, and transforming every meal into medicineWhere spirituality collides with biology: how toxic thoughts, chronic judgment, fear, unresolved trauma, and victim attachment literally manifest disease—and why forgiveness, embracing discomfort, emotional alchemy, and genuine loving connection are essential for extreme, integrated healthThe urgent poisoning of our supply chain, the call for real outrage and collective rebellion, and why every choice—what we eat, wear, think, buy—is sacred resistance and stewardship of body, land, and futureThis isn't soft self-care—it's a battle cry to wake up, purge the poisons (physical, emotional, systemic), reject the "pill up and power through" deception, and seize vibrant, liberated living on your own fierce terms. If you're done suffering quietly, questioning the chemical matrix and quick-fix lies, or ready to turn pain into unbreakable purpose—this raw exchange will set you ablaze.

Pairwise: https://www.pairwise.com/FoA 412: 'Biological' Is Not A Category (it's the future of agriculture)I'm excited to share today's episode with you. I've wanted to get Tom Adams back on the show ever since I had the chance to interview him at World Agritech a couple of years ago. That interview was included on episode 412 of this podcast titled “Biological is not a Category”. The work Pairwise is doing is mind boggling to me. Using CRISPR and the latest in gene editing tools, they have built a platform to enable plant breeders to make very precise changes to the genome of a plant to give farmers and consumers more of what they want. Now this is different from genetic modification or GMOs because they are not inserting foreign genes into the plant. In fact, they are doing the exact same thing that plant breeders have done for over a century, they are just able to do it in an extremely precise way. On another podcast that I host, Agriscience Explained, Corteva's Reza Rasoulpour explained natural breeding as wanting to change one word in a book by just combining all of the pages of two different books and hoping that word changes. Versus gene editing just going in and changing that one word in the book. I thought that was a good comparison. So Tom and his team are bringing this technology to agriculture by working with seed companies and other partners in a variety of use cases, many of which we'll discuss today. A little background on Tom: Dr. Tom Adams co-founded Pairwise and serves as Chief Executive Officer. Tom has over 25 years of leadership experience heading up biotechnology for global companies, serving most recently as Vice President of Global Biotechnology at Monsanto where he led the team developing a broad range of innovative products. Tom wanted to realize the possibilities of CRISPR and gene editing in plants, and co-founded Pairwise to realize this potential in a mission-based environment. Formerly a faculty member at Texas A&M University, Tom holds a PhD in microbiology and plant science from Michigan State University and a BS in botany and plant pathology from Oregon State University. Tom and I talk about Pairwise's continued work in this area, some of the cool developments that are under way, some of their strategic decisions like going the partnership route rather than being the seed company themselves, a little bit more about how the technology works, how this changes the game and who captures the value.

Challenging the long-held assumption that sleep is a dialogue the brain has exclusively with itself, Matt investigates the "gut-brain axis"—a sophisticated communication network linking our digestive tract to the central nervous system. He details how the 100 trillion microorganisms within our intestines act as a secondary control center for rest, operating via the vagus nerve to either bolster or sabotage our nocturnal recovery. By exploring the "vicious cycle" of dysbiosis, Matt explains how sleep deprivation compromises gut permeability, which in turn triggers systemic inflammation that further fragments our sleep.Matt dissects the molecular crosstalk within Parkinson's disease, where profound sleep disturbances often accelerate the progression of the condition. He explains how the collapse of butyrate—a short-chain fatty acid produced by bacterial fermentation—disrupts the brain's sleep architecture and weakens the restorative power of delta waves. By activating the BDNF-TrkB pathway, butyrate serves as a chemical signal that fosters neural repair and dampens neuroinflammation, succeeding in restoring sleep where traditional dopamine-replacement therapies often fail. Our host further explores the rhythmic nature of the microbiome, revealing that our gut bacteria possess their own internal clocks that must synchronize with the master pacemaker in the brain. He outlines how dietary fiber and prebiotics act as the primary fuel for these "sleep-promoting" microbes, while specific probiotic strains can lower cortisol and modulate GABAergic activity to quiet the mind for rest. Ultimately, Matt suggests that the future of sleep medicine lies in the gut, emphasizing that the quality of our rest is a biological collaboration between our neurons and the ancient ecosystem residing within us.Please note that Matt is not a medical doctor, and none of the content in this podcast should be considered medical advice in any way, shape, or form, nor prescriptive in any way.Podcast partner, David, is a revolutionary new protein bar developed with Dr. Peter Attia.
