Which of these classics will we be playing "We Are The Champions" for? It's the exciting conclusion to our Best Disney Sports Movie bracket: - Welcome back to the show, Kyle R.! - Chris threw his Rays hat away. - Everyone has a MiO story, apparently. - Going over some listener feedback. - Dennis Quaid HAD to be in sports movies. - The Rookie downplayed Jim Morris's prospect years. - Kyle hates the flute in The Rookie score, but Chris loves it. - Why is Joe Blanton in The Rookie? - Everyone drops their baseball movie takes. - Francis Ouimet has been a lil golfboi his whole life. - To say that a random person can compete with pros is an insult to pros. - Invincible captures the Philly attitude. - Chris's favorite Cool Runnings quoate. - The Mighty Ducks & Disney timeline. - The Russia coach's eyebrows are a standout moment in Miracle. On this Joe Blanton Interview, never suspecting his prime years in the music business would start in his 40’s… why getting a record deal isn’t always what you think it is, not sweating the small stuff so much, letting go, running away to Florida (and it turning out to be a great trip), and why Joe plays guitar instead of only singing Originally an art student, Joe’s band The Royal Court of China signed with A&M. We here at Resting Pitchface likes to cover many topics: unionization, eating the rich, pharmaceutical development, and measuring things in percentages of a Joe Blanton. We're also making peace with where the Nationals are and looking forward to where they'll be. Jayson Werth night was a thing, the intentional relief pitcher out should be a thing, and (checks) we all still love Oliver Perez. How about that Juan Soto? Episode 42: Phenomaly
You won't believe what happens to us when we play former Phillie Joe Blanton and his Rays. Plus one of our first acquisitions makes his Philly debut. This is "Playing the Rube," in which Tim Malcolm and Dan Walsh use Out of The Park Baseball to win more championships with the Philadelphia Phillies after the 2008 season, something Ruben Amaro Jr. couldn't do as the team's general manager. After dropping two of three in Citizens Bank Park last weekend, the Washington Nationals have now splits the first two games of this weekend's three-game set in D.C. Tanner Roark put together a solid start this afternoon and the Nationals rallied to tie it at 2-2 late on a Chris Heisey HR, but the Phillies came right back with a two-run blast by Cesar Hernandez off Joe Blanton putting the Phillies up for good. Nationals now 6-5.
The NL East will be won by the team that doesn't break down. Meanwhile new Washington reliever Joe Blanton has turned his nice career around and could become a closer option.
