Evan, Tiki, and Shaun wonder who the Mets' next manager will be. Will interim Andy Green stick around? Or do David Stearns and Steve Cohen have their eyes elsewhere?
We start with the crazy story of Lions player Terrion Arnold facing 100 years in prison for kidnapping and robbery charges. Next, C-Lo returns with breaking news that Carlos Mendoza was fired, followed by the Moment of the Day featuring Al looking at the intern's notes. Finally, we wrap up the week with more on the Mets firing Mendoza and Andy Green coming down from the front office to be interim manager.
20 years ago, JCB, a company renowned for producing agricultural and construction equipment, shocked the world when it unveiled Dieselmax - a land-speed record car that shot to both fame and speed on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA, achieving the diesel land speed record of 350.092mph. Now, in 2026, JCB is back at it, only this time, Lord Bamford and his engineers want to set the record with Hydrogen power. The JCB Hydromax is the latest landspeed record car from JCB. Two 800hp hydrogen combustion engines power it, generating an overall power output of 1,600hp and a targeted top speed of over 350mph.Tom Beimish is the man largely responsible for JCB's hydrogen technology and has been an integral part of the Hydromax program. John Marcar speaks with Tom to find out how and why hydrogen is the future for JCB rather than diesel, hybrid, or electric power.Wing Commander Andy Green OBE is a former RAF fast-jet pilot who has spent the last 20+ years at the controls of fighter jets for the Royal Air Force. Now, he's stepping into the driver's seat of Hydromax to push the latest technology to the max and set a new world record.John sits down with Tom and Andy to discover more about this exciting project at a shakedown test at RAF Wittering.Follow the story by following @JCBMachines on Instagram._______________________________________________The Driven Podcast brings you motoring-focused discussions, observations from the automotive world, and interviews exploring our guests' careers, exploits, and anything else worth discussing. We will also keep you up to speed with the latest automotive news stories and insights into the cars and motorcycles we're reviewing at Driven. The Avenue Red Podcast presents a sparkling vinyl-only debut mix from Rob Bellfield, who hails from Utrecht province in south-central Netherlands. Rob is a DJ and artist/producer who also masquerades under the monikers Artileqt and Elusan, as well as operating under his own name and his earlier works under the variation name Rob Belleville. He has built up a tidy catalogue of releases since mid-2000s on some excellent underground labels (see his discography in the links below). Here Rob has glued together a dazzling selection that is eye-wateringly cohesive and tightly mixed, as he brings forth some special ambient sounds in the opening stages, which then evocatively segue into purely golden deep house & techno cuts, old and new. "Avenue Red caught my attention since I noticed that a couple of my musical friends and cohorts have also graced the podcast series with a guest mix, including Rai Scott, Brad P, Andy Green, Georges White and Damo B to name a few. For Avenue Red I wanted to showcase my preference for electronic music with emotional deepness, but somehow always with a focus on a dancefloor in its early hours. This session was mixed on 2x Technics SL-1200 MK2 & Pioneer DJM-250MK2" Rob Bellfield, April 2026 https://soundcloud.com/artileqt https://artileqt.bandcamp.com https://www.discogs.com/artist/10735633-Rob-Bellfield
The Mets are spiraling through an 11 game losing streak, and the pressure is mounting on manager Carlos Mendoza. With no official move yet, the conversation turns to whether the team will act quickly or ride things out through a critical homestand against beatable opponents. The uncertainty raises bigger questions about leadership, accountability, and what direction the franchise should take if things do not improve. Evan Roberts and Shaun Morash break down every possible path forward, from internal interim options to bold and unrealistic managerial candidates. The debate gets lively as they rank names like Carlos Beltran, Andy Green, and even nostalgic returns from past figures, mixing serious analysis with entertaining hypotheticals. They also touch on clubhouse culture, fan reactions, and what urgency should actually look like for a team built to win now.
"We've all got lots of stuff we should do. Should exercise more, should eat healthier, should do this, should do that. We end up shoulding all over ourselves. Just have a challenge and go - I will learn from this."We are absolutely delighted to welcome Andy Green to the How to Thrive podcast this week. Andy is a neuro-strategist, leadership and culture specialist, TEDx speaker, and the bridge between the veterinary and legal worlds in more ways than one.Andy spent 27 years as a clinical vet before stepping back from practice to focus full-time on leadership, coaching and culture - work that had been quietly growing alongside his clinical career for years. That transition didn't come easily. When he finally told his fellow directors, he was in tears. It struck at the very core of who he thought he was.In this episode, Claire and Helen talk to Andy about the striking parallels between how vets and lawyers define themselves by their profession, what it really takes to separate your identity from your job title, and why curiosity and vulnerability are more closely linked than most people realise.
