Dr Raman Kishore from Darbhanga, fondly known as the “Doctor of the village”, has dedicated himself to serving the villagers. So far, he has organised medical camps in several villages in India, treated thousands of patients, and saved many lives through early diagnosis and care. In today's materialistic and commercialised world, it is remarkable for a qualified doctor to take a pledge never to engage in private practice.
In this edition of our arts24 music show, Jennifer Ben Brahim chats with French electronic producer and composer Thylacine. Travel is central to his artistry, having recorded music in unusual locations such as the Trans-Siberian Railway. He is releasing the third instalment of his "Roads" series, which had previously taken him to Argentina and the Faroe Islands. This time, he went to the Namibian desert to record "Roads vol.3", turning a 1972 airstream caravan into a recording studio. We also talk about the ultimate revenge record by British pop star Lily Allen. "West End Girl" is a deeply personal dive into her divorce from "Stranger Things" actor David Harbour.
Let's review. A couple of months ago, I recorded an online interview for a dyslexia summit. I also put together and recorded a short video presentation. These were both to be shown at a dyslexia summit. I was to then attend the online summit for a live question-and-answer session. On the day of the summit, I emailed to see what time I needed to be online. It was at this point that I was told that I had been disinvited. And my disinvitation had occurred without so much as a disinviting word. It was a gentle but wordless disinvitations. Can you imagine such a thing? The stated reason for my wordless disinvitation was that the writing tone used on some of my digital platforms “is fairly abrasive when speaking about those in other camps in the reading world”. In a previous excerpt, I examined how the abrasiveness of one's writing tone is determined largely by the cognitive framework held by the reader. I also said that the wordless disinvitation I received was a form of silencing. And any abrasiveness in my writing tone pales in comparison with the continued abrasion endured by teachers and professors as well as the constant attacks on Lucy Calkins, Ken Goodman, and Marie Clay.In this excerpt, we'll examine reading camps.
The girls felt like Wayward youths themselves as they went down a very windy path to recap this limited series show in Netflix. They talk about Amanda's house ghost interfering with the viewing, Maggie's love of the Paris Hilton autobiography, and their shared appreciation of the MTV hit series: Undressed. One of them really liked this show and the other one could barely get through it (she didn't!) We guess this prooves sisters-in-law may get along but they don't always agree on shows...that's what keeps it interesting! Here we go again - another liberal mayor whining about "compassion" while his city turns into a criminal playground. Governor Abbott just steamrolled Austin's weak mayor by clearing 48 homeless encampments, arresting 24 repeat felony offenders, and seizing over 125 grams of narcotics. Meanwhile, Mayor Watson is clutching his pearls because the state didn't ask permission to clean up his own streets. We're talking fake police badges, outstanding warrants, armed and dangerous criminals - but the mayor wants to "rebuild relationships" with these folks. Really? Abbott did what any competent leader should do: prioritized taxpaying citizens over criminal drug addicts camping in public parks. The state seized weapons, drugs, and a ton and a half of garbage while the mayor cried about "empathy."Why do blue city mayors always side with criminals over families trying to use public parks? Is this what passes for leadership in Austin? Drop a comment and let me know if you think Abbott should keep overriding these soft-on-crime mayors. Don't forget to subscribe for more reality checks on government failures!

Universities across America have become dangerous indoctrination tools helping to push radical ideologies on our nation's youth, and this was exemplified at Howard University after a radical professor called for white political allies to emulate the actions of mass murderer John Brown. Democrats continue with their threats and violent rhetoric against ICE agents. Leftist political hack Harry Sisson claims that no high-ranking elected Democrat has ever compared President Trump to Hitler. Former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is distancing herself from Joe Biden, and Stephen Colbert of all people calls her out on her lies. Jen Psaki attacks Vice President JD Vance, suggesting that his wife, Usha, wants to leave him. Donald Trump mocks the Obama library, saying it's no surprise it's so poorly constructed since it was built using DEI initiatives. ► Subscribe to “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered”! https://www.youtube.com/@SaraGonzalesUnfiltered?sub_confirmation=1 Today's Sponsors: ► Select Quote Get the right life insurance for YOU, for LESS, and save more than 50% at https://www.SelectQuote.com/SARA today. ► PreBorn Donate securely at https://www.preborn.com/sara or dial #250, keyword “BABY.” ► CBDistillery You can save 25% on your entire purchase when you visit https://www.cbdistillery.com and use promo code SARA.

You're listening to Right On Radio. Live right in the real world. News, views, opinions, and attitudes — expect frank, sometimes heated, but always candid conversation. In this episode host Jeff is joined by guest John Brisson for a wide-ranging discussion of the last seven days' biggest flashpoints: the memorial service for Charlie Kirk, the mixing of politics and worship at Turning Point events, the growing influence of Christian nationalism, and whether current developments amount to a "real Great Reset" or a controlled, false awakening. John explains his long-held thesis that we are living through a deliberately managed reset and they unpack how recent events fit that narrative. Highlights include reflections on Erica Kirk's public forgiveness of her husband's alleged assassin and its contrast with political rhetoric about vengeance, the role of high-profile voices (Trump, Stephen Miller, Jack Posobiec) in stoking nationalist sentiment, and concerns about ecumenical compromise when political movements adopt religious language. The hosts debate Trump's faith and intentions, the ethics of judging public leaders, and where spiritual discernment intersects with political accountability. The conversation also turns to domestic policy and social questions: immigration enforcement and deportations, the chaotic reality and moral costs of mass removals, homelessness in American cities, and controversial proposals for camps, psychiatric care and medical interventions as solutions. Jeff and John disagree at points but converge on the call for charity and practical church involvement, warning that government alone cannot shoulder the moral responsibilities churches once fulfilled. Listeners can expect candid disagreements, scriptural references, and real-world proposals — from patient advocates to local acts of charity — plus a closing musical pick and a pastoral reminder to love God, family and neighbor. This episode is for listeners who want faith-centered analysis of current events, not partisan cheerleading: honest critique, tough questions, and an invitation to think about where church, state and conscience meet. In this episode, we break down the strategic urgency of reclaiming Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Far from a full-scale invasion, modern technology and drone capabilities make retaking this critical base a precise operation—key for countering terrorist training camps and projecting power across the Middle East and beyond. We explore how the previous Biden administration's withdrawal left the base in the hands of the Taliban and China, the implications for Al Qaeda and emerging terror networks, and why Trump sees Bagram as a linchpin for future operations against Iran's nuclear program. From border security to global military strategy, this episode examines why “doing nothing” is not an option—and how modern warfare changes the game.
Summer camp should be all about fun, freedom, and the great outdoors. But when severe weather strikes, those carefree moments can turn dangerous in an instant. That's why Julie Kay Roberts launched Signal & Shield, a national initiative equipping over 12,000 youth camps with NOAA Weather Radios and training staff to act quickly when alerts sound. In this episode, Julie shares the urgent “alert gap” most camps face, why minutes matter in a storm, and how one simple device can save lives. We'll explore the partnerships making it possible, stories from the field, and how you can help bring safety — and peace of mind — to camps everywhere.

In this episode of Occupied Thoughts, FMEP Fellow Hilary Rantisi speaks with zehra imam, who launched Poetry of the Camps, a poetry program in Gaza with young writers. Basman Aldirawi and Duha Hassan Al Shaqaqi, former participants in the program who have become co-leaders of it, joined in the conversation. Basman and Duha shared what it meant for each of them to be writing poetry in Gaza during the genocide. They discussed the process of bringing students together virtually from all over the Gaza Strip, with different backgrounds and experiences, to write poetry. The themes of their sessions were miracles, homeland, the concept of colorism, love letters to Palestine, and freedom. They share a poem titled “Balsam” written by a student participant about her friend who was killed in the Israeli assault and discuss their experiences during the genocide: Basman, who was in Egypt on 10/7/23 and could not return to Gaza and Duha, who survived the genocide and was evacuated from Gaza just a few weeks ago. Basman Aldirawi (also published as Basman Derawi) is a physiotherapist and a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Gaza in 2010. Inspired by an interest in music, movies, and people with special needs, he contributes dozens of stories/poems to the online platform We Are Not Numbers and other platforms including Vivamost, Mondoweiss, ArabLit, and Written Revolution. He has contributed to the Arabic poetry anthology, Gaza: Land of Poetry, 2021 and to the English anthology, Light in Gaza: Writing Born in Fire, 2022.
