Former US magazine editors-in-chief Laura Brown and Kristina O'Neill were both ‘let go' from their respective jobs. They felt blindsided, devastated and temporarily lost their identities - until, united, they learnt how to make a comeback. They joined Nuala McGovern to share their experiences as set out in their new book, All the Cool Girls Get Fired, about how they let go of the shame of ‘being fired', a term they like to use, and how a career setback can become the best thing ever.Suzanne Edwards is currently taking part in ground-breaking medical trials that involve her learning how to move her legs using neural implants. Suzanne has been a sportswoman for decades, both before and since a life-changing accident 14 years ago, and she explains to Anita Rani how this training has informed her approach to taking part in medical research.Back in 1995 a call went out looking for women to take part in a landmark scientific study exploring the links between what we eat and our health. Thirty-five thousand middle-aged women signed up to be part of the UK Women's Cohort Study. It went on to look at the impact our diet can have on our risk of developing cancer and other chronic diseases, as well as other areas of women's health from our bones to the menopause. Professor Janet Cade from the University of Leeds joined Nuala to discuss what it was like launching the study 30 years ago and some of its key takeaways for women. The Independent Commission on UK Counterterrorism has just published its report after three years. A long and detailed report, it estimates there are up to 70 UK-linked individuals, mostly women and children—most under 10 years old—believed to still be in camps or other detention centres in Iraq and Syria. Professor of Religion, Gender and Global Security, Katherine Brown, is one of the 14 commissioners. She explains why the women and children remaining in these camps is "unsustainable" and why an organised programme of return, rehabilitation, and integration is, they believe, the best long-term option for managing the risk to public safety. They are joined by Frank Gardner, the BBC's Security Correspondent.Francesca Hennessy is the 21-year-old shaking up women's boxing. Nicknamed the 'Billion Dollar Baby', she's unbeaten in her first six professional fights and will be fighting on the bill when boxing returns to BBC primetime TV, free-to-air on a Saturday night for the first time in 20 years later this month. She'll face former world champion Fabiana Bytyqi, marking the biggest test of her career. Presenter: Anita Rani Producer: Dianne McGregor
Childminders play a vital role in the early years of children's lives, offering care, stability and a familiar face during those formative years. But their numbers are in sharp decline. Many are no longer able to offer places for three and four year olds, citing government funding pressures. Today, Ofsted have released new figures on how many childminders are leaving and joining the profession. Childminder Georgina Young joins Nuala McGovern to share her experience of the joys and challenges of childminding, and what the future might hold for the profession.Saskia Reeves is the theatre, film and TV actor known for her many roles including Katherine Standish in the hit Apple TV series Slow Horses. There were thousands of Ukrainians who refused to be repatriated back to the Soviet Union after the end of the Second World War in Europe. These Ukrainians were placed in Displaced Persons camps where they created their own little Ukraine. They took those organizational talents and Ukrainian consciousness with them when they emigrated to various countries and have contributed to the Ukrainian Diaspora culture. Find out how they did this and why it is important in this episode of Wandering the Edge!Facebook & Instagram: WanderedgeukraineFor more episodes, sources and extras, please visit: wanderingtheedge.net

How was Soul Support Systems founded? THE BEGINNING: Flo Aeveia Magdalena founded Soul Support Systems in 1994, with the help and support of Jayn Stewart and Albert Moore. At this time as well, there was a community in Vermont, called the Heaven on Earth Community. Many gatherings and retreats were held there until the early 2000's. Flo Aeveia first met Jayn Stewart in 1988, when Jayn came to Flo for a reading with The Nameless Ones (TNO) in Washington, DC. Their friendship began immediately. Jayn edited and helped birth I Remember Union: The Story of Mary Magdalena the next year, a role that Jayn would play in all of Flo's subsequent books. Albert and Jayn met through Flo and later married. Al, Jayn and Flo were the triad that grounded the work and the vision for living in common-unity with all. Jayn and Flo lived in community in Vermont and would often communicate with and receive guidance from TNO, whose explanations about life, guidance on relationships, and clarity about the energetics of our systems brought a steady and strengthening presence to them. As information and guidance came from TNO about the major role the soul plays in our personal and planetary evolution, it became clear that to share this guidance about the soul was the optimal way for Flo, Jayn and others to learn, grow and connect. What Happened Next? Jayn, Al and Flo Create Soul Support Systems To provide the fullest soul-expanding experience possible, Jayn, Flo and Al created Soul Support Systems as a 501C3 corporation in Vermont to provide spiritual education to guide our human evolution. Programs were developed for adults and children to offer the experience of living in acceptance and harmony with others. Camps were held yearly in Vermont, called Earth Quest, where those learning these principles would bring their families and young friends to experience nature, spirit and soul-connection. Adult retreats called Soul Recognition℠ provided a personal journey to meet the soul, open to the fullest energy and vitality within, and bring guidance and presence of the soul more fully into life and relationships. Each of our programs was designed to birth ways to further peace and cooperation by living more clearly from the soul. Soul Support began to train facilitators in these spiritually-based, non-religious, unifying group and individual practices that evolved as we all worked together. These modalities bring the experience of cooperation, harmonious community and deep heart-felt relationships to those who join us. Our modalities offer proven methods to connect with the Heart (HeartThread℠), access the Soul's Purpose (Circuitry Alignment℠), and to foundation New Systems to Accelerate and Catalyze Individual and Planetary Transformation (Soul Recognition℠). Our experiential modalities offer guidance provided from TNO and other universal sources, and also utilize The Accelerated Thinking Process℠; a personal diagram of your left and right brain function to support your fundamental integration and enhance your creative potential. In 2014, Soul Support Systems celebrated its 20th anniversary as an organization devoted to assisting us to be healthier, happier, and more abundant as we live from our soul's guidance. As we honor our soul, the spark of spirit within us, this wisdom provides inner guidance and sustains our connection with all life. Living from the soul as well as the heart, we experience compassion, offer our gifts to the world, and find purpose and fulfillment. As a learning community, we take responsibility for our continued growth, both as individuals and as an organization. Our commitment to you is to offer proven programs and services that connect you more directly with your soul to enrich your life, help you meet daily challenges, empower your relationships, and improve your health and well-being. Sincerely, Flo Aeveia Magdalena.
In this episode I do two things... First, I explain why the "unsure" camp in the currently divided Fianna Fáil parliamentary party is in single digits and the pro and anti Martin factions are almost evenly divided.Second, I explain why a departure timeline for Martin that stretches into 2027 or 2028 not only makes no sense, it is potentially damaging to its electoral prospects.

Dr Raman Kishore from Darbhanga, fondly known as the “Doctor of the village”, has dedicated himself to serving the villagers. So far, he has organised medical camps in several villages in India, treated thousands of patients, and saved many lives through early diagnosis and care. In today's materialistic and commercialised world, it is remarkable for a qualified doctor to take a pledge never to engage in private practice.
In this edition of our arts24 music show, Jennifer Ben Brahim chats with French electronic producer and composer Thylacine. Travel is central to his artistry, having recorded music in unusual locations such as the Trans-Siberian Railway. He is releasing the third instalment of his "Roads" series, which had previously taken him to Argentina and the Faroe Islands. This time, he went to the Namibian desert to record "Roads vol.3", turning a 1972 airstream caravan into a recording studio. We also talk about the ultimate revenge record by British pop star Lily Allen. "West End Girl" is a deeply personal dive into her divorce from "Stranger Things" actor David Harbour.
Let's review. A couple of months ago, I recorded an online interview for a dyslexia summit. I also put together and recorded a short video presentation. These were both to be shown at a dyslexia summit. I was to then attend the online summit for a live question-and-answer session. On the day of the summit, I emailed to see what time I needed to be online. It was at this point that I was told that I had been disinvited. And my disinvitation had occurred without so much as a disinviting word. It was a gentle but wordless disinvitations. Can you imagine such a thing? The stated reason for my wordless disinvitation was that the writing tone used on some of my digital platforms “is fairly abrasive when speaking about those in other camps in the reading world”. In a previous excerpt, I examined how the abrasiveness of one's writing tone is determined largely by the cognitive framework held by the reader. I also said that the wordless disinvitation I received was a form of silencing. And any abrasiveness in my writing tone pales in comparison with the continued abrasion endured by teachers and professors as well as the constant attacks on Lucy Calkins, Ken Goodman, and Marie Clay.In this excerpt, we'll examine reading camps.
The girls felt like Wayward youths themselves as they went down a very windy path to recap this limited series show in Netflix. They talk about Amanda's house ghost interfering with the viewing, Maggie's love of the Paris Hilton autobiography, and their shared appreciation of the MTV hit series: Undressed. One of them really liked this show and the other one could barely get through it (she didn't!) We guess this prooves sisters-in-law may get along but they don't always agree on shows...that's what keeps it interesting! Here we go again - another liberal mayor whining about "compassion" while his city turns into a criminal playground. Governor Abbott just steamrolled Austin's weak mayor by clearing 48 homeless encampments, arresting 24 repeat felony offenders, and seizing over 125 grams of narcotics. Meanwhile, Mayor Watson is clutching his pearls because the state didn't ask permission to clean up his own streets. We're talking fake police badges, outstanding warrants, armed and dangerous criminals - but the mayor wants to "rebuild relationships" with these folks. Really? Abbott did what any competent leader should do: prioritized taxpaying citizens over criminal drug addicts camping in public parks. The state seized weapons, drugs, and a ton and a half of garbage while the mayor cried about "empathy."Why do blue city mayors always side with criminals over families trying to use public parks? Is this what passes for leadership in Austin? Drop a comment and let me know if you think Abbott should keep overriding these soft-on-crime mayors. Don't forget to subscribe for more reality checks on government failures!
Universities across America have become dangerous indoctrination tools helping to push radical ideologies on our nation's youth, and this was exemplified at Howard University after a radical professor called for white political allies to emulate the actions of mass murderer John Brown. Democrats continue with their threats and violent rhetoric against ICE agents. Leftist political hack Harry Sisson claims that no high-ranking elected Democrat has ever compared President Trump to Hitler.

Official estimates from Ukraine's government say 19,000 Ukrainian children have been taken by Russian forces since the start of the conflict. In this episode, we break down the strategic urgency of reclaiming Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Far from a full-scale invasion, modern technology and drone capabilities make retaking this critical base a precise operation—key for countering terrorist training camps and projecting power across the Middle East and beyond. We explore how the previous Biden administration's withdrawal left the base in the hands of the Taliban and China, the implications for Al Qaeda and emerging terror networks, and why Trump sees Bagram as a linchpin for future operations against Iran's nuclear program. From border security to global military strategy, this episode examines why “doing nothing” is not an option—and how modern warfare changes the game.
