After the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, the CIA began a covert operation known as “Operation Cyclone”, aiming to support Afghan mujahideen through funding, training, and supplying weapons. Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region became the hub for the mujahideen training camps. Gradually, Pakistan expanded its terror training infrastructure and expertise to its north eastern border with India to conduct a proxy war in the Indian states of Punjab and Kashmir. Pakistan now struggles to contain this Frankenstein it created, in the 1980s.

In today's fragmented Christian landscape, tribal loyalties sometimes overshadow biblical truth. At Disciple Nations Alliance, we're frequently asked where we fit theologically. The answer? We don't wear a denominational jersey—and that's by design. In this episode, we unpack why choosing Scripture over systems isn't theological compromise but an emphasis on the heart of God's mission.Rather than aligning with a single tradition, we stand on clear, foundational truths: Jesus is King, His kingdom is advancing, and His method is disciple-making through the Church—holistically and incarnationally—grounded in a biblical worldview. These truths transcend denominational lines and unify believers from Pentecostals in Latin America to Anglicans in Africa. This conversation is a call to elevate Scripture above interpretive frameworks, to approach theology with humility and charity, and to focus on telling the full biblical story.Make a matching gift donation by June 10!View the transcript, leave comments, and check out recommended resources on the Episode Landing Page!Learn More about the 2025 DNA Forum in Panama

In Episode 21 of Alphas Make Sandwiches, Ashe in America is joined by Christy Lupo, Jackie Espada, Stephanie Casey, and Holly at Altitude for a wild ride through scent-triggered memories, cultural decay, and AI-generated devilry. What starts as a fun discussion about nostalgic smells (hello, cucumber melon) quickly pivots into a serious deep-dive on controversial sex education programs in Colorado and beyond. The panel explores a disturbing "sex camp" for fifth to eighth graders, the weaponization of policy to hide gender identity changes from parents, and the broader global agenda targeting children via public schools, all tied to UN goals and public-private partnerships. Holly breaks down shocking examples of critical race theory in her niece's classroom, while Jackie and Christy test ChatGPT to ask: “If you were the devil, how would you destroy a generation?” The AI's answers are chilling, and all too familiar. The episode wraps with practical photo tips for Instagram success and a reminder that propaganda can come disguised as empowerment. Bold, funny, and a little terrifying, this is one of the most wide-ranging and thought-provoking AMS episodes to date.

In this episode of The Valley Today, host Janet Michael dives into the world of Shenandoah Reel Women, a remarkable initiative that offers fly fishing camps for young women aged 12 to 18. Joan Chapman, one of the directors, explains that the program aims to empower young women through hands-on outdoor experiences. Since its inception in 2021, the camps have evolved to include both novice and advanced levels, ensuring a comprehensive learning journey for all participants. The camps, held at the picturesque Shenandoah River State Park, provide a unique blend of adventure and education. Participants receive extensive training in fly fishing, including casting techniques, knot tying, and equipment maintenance. The camps also emphasize conservation education and river quality testing, fostering a deep connection with nature. One notable feature of the program is the mentorship initiative. Joan highlights how past campers, who have progressed to mentor roles, play a crucial part in guiding new participants. These mentors not only assist in teaching fly fishing skills but also contribute to the overall camp experience, creating a supportive community. The camps are designed to be accessible to all interested young women. With a reasonable registration fee that includes accommodation, meals, and fishing gear, the program ensures affordability. Additionally, full scholarships are available, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder participation. Joan emphasizes the anonymity of scholarship recipients to maintain their privacy. Beyond fly fishing, the camps offer a holistic experience. Participants are involved in cooking, journaling, and various educational activities, including visits to a fish hatchery and survival training. This multifaceted approach ensures that attendees leave with valuable life skills and cherished memories. For those interested, the novice camp runs from June 15th to June 19th at a cost of $150, while the advanced camp is scheduled from July 6th to July 10th at a cost of $100. Both camps promise an unforgettable experience, blending the thrill of fly fishing with the joy of outdoor learning. For more information or to register for the novice camp, click here. “If I go to the good Hopi Indian quote, ‘We don't inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.' I sit in reflection of that and I hope the future generations will lead with heart and they'll be guided by the values that built this legacy to date. That they honor the past by innovating with purpose and with integrity. Everybody's always got to remember that stewardship is a sacred trust, and one that turns heritage into hope.”We're in great company with Shan and Bronwyn Varty, the mother and daughter duo behind Londolozi, who, with their family's one hundred years of history, are pioneering one of South Africa's original private game reserves as a living model of conservation development. Here, they are nurturing a Futuristic African Village, a prototype for village consciousness where wild animals and people alike, live together in dignity and harmony, with each other and the land. It is with an abundance mindset that they have chosen to share this land and legacy with worldly guests, committing to excellence in ecotourism with their accredited Relais & Châteaux status. In celebration of Mother's Day, in this episode, Shan and Bron paint for us a picture of luxury in its purest form—with time as the artist, the senses as the medium, and Mother Nature as the muse. Top Takeaways[2:10] With 100 years of family history living on this land, the Varty's roots run deep and strong as they grow and evolve with their environment.[4:50] The name Londolozi is Zulu for ‘Protector Of All Living Things,' reflecting their ambitious conservation ethic in stewarding our human relationship with the natural world. [7:00] They say “it takes a village to raise a child,” and there is sincere truth in that there is a power of resilience in community, as both Shan and Bron learned early on. [12:30] “When you live in nature, you live in an ecosystem of connection, not comparison.”[15:15] How meditative design is a way of practicing presence, learning to get out of the way and allow nature to lead, creating a sense of place that meets you where you are. [20:00] Londolozi's Camps are a collection woven together with a “Golden Thread”—each with their own significance, but all along a journey through legacy and luxury. [29:15] The Varty's are proud “Artists of Experiences”—curating luxury safaris for every chapter of life—from first-time safaris to multigenerational family trips, from honeymoons to wellness, with photography and more in store,[36:40] The “Ripple Effect” stands for Restoration, Innovation, Protection, People, Leadership, Education.[41:00] Rather than creating something new, Shan and Bron are celebrating 100 years of history by bringing back the old, polishing and preserving along the way.[46:15] Mother Nature's wisdom is in embracing a state of flow that changes with the seasons—recognizing that mothering is not something that is done, it is something that is felt—and can only be done so by slowing down. Notable MentionsNelson MandelaMaya AngelouThe Leopards of LondoloziPeter Reed LinensLand RoverSesaties, South African Kebabs Good Work FoundationTracker Academy Healing HouseVisit For YourselfLondolozi Website | @londoloziImages courtesy of Londolozi Game Reserve

Cara shares her journey from reluctant day camper to passionate overnight camper—and how her love for the program led her to buy the camp she once attended. They dive into: The unexpected lessons of arts camp leadership How to create a non-competitive, nurturing space for young artists The impact of COVID on music education and teen development What today's kids really need—and how parents can support their growth How to market meaningfully to both kids and their families The business aspects that came naturally to Cara as an artist, and those that proved challenging.  How changing their approach to email marketing has made a world of difference.  Whether you're a parent, educator, or artist dreaming of launching something big, this episode is full of heart, practical insight, and inspiration. My guest, Cara Bergantino, is a violist and music educator who has taught for over a decade in the Greater Boston area.
