Glasscaster: Hot Glass Talk in a High-Tech World

I'd always wanted to interview Lisa Vogt...she was the first artist I knew who made glass sinks, which were high on my bucket list at the time. She's been working glass since 1988, has published 14 books and numerous articles. Her work has been exhibited in major cities throughout the US.  She's done plenty of Art in Public Places, many commissions, and she's a terrific instructor. We've produced quite a few Glass Expert Webinars™ together. We ran into each other recently at a glass industry event, and finally had the opportunity to do this interview while hiding out in a somewhat cavernous and echoey back room.  You can find out more about Lisa at www.lisavogt.net And you can access her recorded webinars here: https://www.glasspatterns.com/glass-patterns-quarterly-store/category/209-recorded-webinar-links.html?page=2 Enjoy the podcast!

How can I make this better, and how does this feel to me? These are two questions my guest Lisa Vogt asks herself. Then she asks us, how do you use your voice, how do express yourself in the world? The point behind these questions is for us to explore how to live wholehearted, inspiring and daring lives. Lisa walks us through some of her life decisions as she chooses to live an inspiring life. Her shift stories are both familiar and encouraging to all of us desiring to fully live our purpose.

Maturepreneurial Podcast: Interviews with Older Entrepreneurs | Online Business Tips | Learn From Those Who Have Succeeded

Lisa Vogt is a wife, mom, and career woman who has deep experience in business and in life. A successful telecommunications executive with a son and a stay-at-home husband, Lisa eventually found her corporate work unfulfilling and the environment toxic. At that point, Lisa and her husband took their time and some care to identify a next step for them and for Lisa’s career. They ultimately launched what quickly became a very successful business, although as Lisa puts it so eloquently on her website: “And then the economy tanked.” After further soul-searching and taking the time and care to look around - again - Lisa attained another successful, some might say, “glamorous”, and rewarding position with a non-profit organization that provides long-term, stable homes for orphaned, abandoned and abused children. When she was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, Lisa’s prior life and business experience had well prepared her for identifying the necessary actions she needed to take in order to move forward to wellness and greater resilience. Today, Lisa devotes her time to helping other women take the next step in their lives through coaching, public speaking and through her weekly podcast, Ever Better. But this is just a summary. Check out Lisa’s about page to be moved and inspired by her full story and to learn how she might help you identify and navigate your next life adventure.

Financial Karma | Money Management | Mindfulness | Mindset | Holistic Financial Advice |

Here’s a recap of my first season of Financial Karma Podcast.  Here are highlights of what I learned from launching my podcast this summer. Money is involved in everything we do. We should be prepared to make informed decisions and we can change ourselves with awareness, intention, and accountability.  Highlights Episode  0:  I talk about how I started and why I’m a financial karma coach. I was interviewed by Lisa Vogt.   Episode 1:  Splash into Summer, with Nick Snapp. Nick discussed how he got into podcasting, what got him out of the corporate world, how he got into productivity, set routines, and bring up productivity to people.    Episode 2:  A Delicious Summer with Alexandra Jamieson. She discusses how to do the body scan, listening to your body’s messages. What it means to observe and listen to every part of your body. She discusses the activities best for summer.    Episode 3:  Women with Wanderlust with Melissa Jones. Melissa helps people to add polish to their personal and business branding with her design. She lives for travel, new challenges, and adventures and recommends traveling to everyone who can afford it.    Episode 4:  Summer Tips for Mannafest Living with Sarah Mastriani-Levi.  She discusses naturopathic medicine and holistic bodywork. She has had extensive clinical practice and is a certified practitioner in the following fields: advanced reflexology, shiatsu, Swedish massage, manual lymph drainage, iridology, aromatherapy and herbology. She  also discusses stuff such as:  How we create a plastic life, It’s not what happens to you, but how you handle what happens to you,  How to find your “allowable rebellions”,  The biggest factor that contributes to Sarah’s success as a coach,  Why fear has never stopped or defined Sarah,  Why you need to be curious, Different challenges with the lifestyle choices we make,  How she intentionally makes time to connect with her children,  Why being outside should be a priority in your life,  How to make positive changes in your life to get what you need, Why dieting is something you should avoid,  and Why Sarah loves her work and how she helps people.    Episode 5. Back to School (and more) with Bruce Langford. Mindfulness needs to go with every student’s return to school.  Does mindfulness apply to your finances? YES! Most of our money decisions—good or bad—are affected by our subconscious mind. Through his work as a mindfulness coach, Bruce helps his clients with the many problems of life with gentleness, candor, and respect. His passion is to help people become more calm, focused, and happy.    Episode 6. The Girls of Summer with Amy Lopez.  Lying is wrong  and  can lead to all sorts of problems. There are so many negative character traits that we unknowingly cultivate when we choose to be untruthful. So, be the best YOU that you can be, and tell the truth.  Amy Lopez, works with 3rd-8th grade girls, helping build confidence in the next generation of women.     Episode 7:  Change of Seasons and Meditation with Joe Somodi. Joe is a professional yoga teacher and certified life coach who helps people incorporate a daily practice of meditation into their lives.  He talks about attaching to the good and detaching from the bad.    Episode 8:  End of Summer Wrap-Up with Deb Williams.   In this podcast, I recommend Camp Good Life Project to connect with people to enhance your business and your life. Having these types of connections allows you to have support and input from others in your business. Knowing you have connections that have your back, it is such a relief.   Having connected relationships is a wealth all its own. Focusing on this aspect of wealth first will allow you to manifest other types of wealth. There is more to wealth than the almighty dollar. Running your business from a spirited place will allow you to grow in innumerable ways.    Episode 9:  Moving on to the Fall and Deb Williams Coaching Practice.  The  complexity of the brain, our neurons, and the coping strategies that we turn to is discussed in this episode. In addition, why I changed my point of view and the benefits it has brought me,  Better overall health,   How I approach decision-making (it starts with a deep breath!),   You can’t control what other people do; you can only control what YOU do.,  Gratitude---why it’s amazing Connection with people, How I blended the work I love Group and one-on-one work Giving people a safe place,  How I help you gain insights, and The 8 Money Personalities: Which ones describe you best?     Episode 10:  Winging It, Owning It and Coming Out Ahead.  How to merge your finances with your psyche is discussed here.  I’ve got my CPA and my Tax clients too, so there’s a lot going on. I’m a bit overwhelmed at the moment and you can see why!   Karma Tip: The word is conviction. It’s being sure what you say and believe is true, and that can even be true to you. My conviction is to work on my self-care and reducing my stress level. Having an open mind causes people to hear each other out, and it can actually cause you to change your convictions. Thinking this way can bring about a more peaceful world.

Lisa Vogt shares her journey leading up to the creation of her podcast Ever Better. She describes her shift in work environment from what was once enjoyable, to that which became "soul-sucking" and without joy in the corporate world. After leaving Nextel, she and her husband Tim shared a vision, they were determined to give back to their community and create a place where children could be invested in learning and the art of play. They opened Play Wise Kids. She then moved on to work with the international SOS Children's Villages , to make a difference in the lives of thousands of foster children around the globe. She and I discussed our involvement and shared interest in the Good Life Project (where we met), the inspiring work ofJonathan Fields , as well as our experiences at Camp GLP in upstate New York in the summer of 2015. The Good Life Project is an inspirational and motivating community for spiritual and creative entrepreneurs. Lisa encourages, "Be willing to push through the discomfort that sometimes accompanies finding a community or tribe that can support your life's direction." She tells of her discovery that she is not only a project-oriented person, but also now embraces the idea that she is a creative individual. She has learned that creativity is the driving force behind her desire to make a such a huge difference in her own life and the lives of others. Lisa references her podcast Ever Better Ever Better Podcast as well as her book Ever Better: Five Sources for Personal Growth, Happiness and Confidence which can be purchased on Amazon. ABOUT LISA VOGT You might be wondering, who is Lisa Vogt and why is she creating these Podcasts? Well, for over 25 years, I’ve worked as a marketing and communications professional. I’ve held senior positions with corporations, non-profits, consulting firms, and owned businesses. My formal education includes an MBA and throughout my life I’ve practiced continuous learning. But my main motivation to create the Ever Better podcast comes from my own breast cancer diagnosis and through speaking with many other women who have battled breast cancer. Women I refer to as breast cancer warriors. In 2014, through a routine mammogram, follow-up mammograms and biopsies, I was diagnosed with DCIS or ductile carcinoma in situ. After lots of analysis and discussions with doctors, family members, friends, and other breast cancer warriors, I elected to have a bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. I was blessed to have had an early diagnosis, made possible through my annual mammograms, and to have access to amazing health care professionals. I am thankful for this every day. During the time that I was considering my treatment options, I would walk each morning and listen to a podcast. I was buoyed by positive messages of taking action and overcoming challenges. Some of my favorite podcasts were and still are by Jonathan Fields, Tim Ferriss, Joel Osteen, and Brendan Burchard.  And, as I was being prepped for surgery in the very early morning before my mastectomy, I listened to an amazing podcast interview with Tim Ferriss, Anthony Robbins and Peter Diamandis. They were talking about thinking big and working towards extraordinary goals. Their discussion helped me to focus not on what would be happening to me over the next few hours, but on what I would be able to accomplish in the years to come. My surgery was highly successful and no additional cancer was detected. And, fortunately, I did not have to undergo chemotherapy, radiation and additional treatments that a lot of men and women experience. Throughout my breast cancer journey, I’ve found a welcoming community of people who are open to sharing their struggles, victories, hopes and concerns. I found groups established to help navigate the many decisions and steps from diagnosis to surgery to recovery and back to normal. The common theme of these groups and communities is a place to share and hear stories of struggle and victory. But, there seems to never be enough time for discussion.    So, the Ever Better Podcast will allow people to share their stories, experiences and knowledge through in-depth conversations. And, each episode will be instantly accessible when someone needs the information. And, just as breast cancer is only one part of my life story, breast cancer will be just one part of this podcast. I’ll also bring you discussions with entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, doctors, coaches, artists, authors, and others who live full, highly connected lives. WHEN TO LISTEN I know you’re busy and you might be wondering when to find the time to listen to Ever Better. Here are some suggestions. Subscribe to this or other podcasts so that new episodes will automatically download to your phone, computer, tablet, Kindle, or other device. If you’re listening through iTunes, just click on the subscribe button. If you’re listening on Stitcher or another podcast player, add Ever Better to your playlist. To minimize your data usage, setup your podcasts to download when you have a wi-fi connection. Once episodes are downloaded you can easily play one while exercising, cooking, cleaning the house, commuting to or from work, or waiting for a doctor’s appointment or waiting to pick up your kids from an activity.   Or, if you manage to squeeze in a few minutes of alone time - grab a cup of coffee or tea, or maybe a mojito depending on the time of day or night, and enjoy an Ever Better conversation. Most discussions will last 30 – 45 minutes and if you don’t have time to listen to a full interview, that’s ok. Just hit pause. You can resume the podcast the next day or the next time that you have a few free minutes. The podcast will be there when you’re ready. In closing, I’d like to share my gratitude for my technical engineer, who is also my son. Thank you Conner! And, to my husband for supporting me in this and all my endeavors. Thanks Tim! I love you guys. And now…Ever Better!
