In this episode of The IoClothes Podcast, we'll be sharing a featured presentation Ben Cooper recently gave at the 2018 Southern Textile Association Summer Marketing Forum in Belmont, North Carolina. The title of my talk, “Who Said We Had to Go to Mars?”. During the presentation, we discuss a common perception that innovation has to be grand and audacious. In some instances, that is certainly the case but the reality is that it sits on a spectrum. The false narrative that innovation needs to disrupt an entire industry is usually how and why programs crash and burn. We discuss what the spirit of innovation really means, and how everyone can start being innovative today! Enjoy! Support for this episode is brought to you by Myant. If you are brand new to my outlook on marketing, content and business, I need you to listen to this podcast. In 2017 I was asked to give a keynote at the Al Ain Media and Marketing Forum. Truth is, up until my agent's car service picked me up, I had no clue where Al Ain even was. Turns out it was in Abu Dhabi, to a largely Arab / Emirati crowd and so I had to slow down my speaking, keep the speech squeeky clean and come up with my simplest explanations around how I do content-first marketing. I ended up giving a talk I'm super proud of because a) it's a great addition to this podcast and b) it acts as a utility item for people to listen to before they meet me in person. As such, I hope you like it! PS I barely got this up in time for my 1 a day challenge to launch this show as I just landed in England and grabbed the mic - so apologies for the ever so slightly shorter intro and post-game.
