A petition calling for Australia's Miss Universe contestant to stand down, is gathering steam. Moraya Wilson, who is the current Miss Universe Australia, is the daughter of two bankrupt property developers whose companies owe more than $45 million to creditors. News.com.au has cited Australian Securities and Investments Commission reports that found companies run by Wilson's parents, Anton and Melinda Wilson, owe the money to creditors following multiple company liquidations, including approximately $21 million to the tax office. Since then, it has emerged that Moraya is a director of ten similar companies which ASIC is seeking to have struck off the business register. In this extra episode of The Briefing, we're joined by Alex Turner-Cohen, a finance reporter at news.com.au who filed today's exclusive. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Face-to-face encounter, the Emanuel Approach to heart healing, the Celtic way of evangelism, mirror neurons, discipleship, transformation, belonging and becoming, renewing our minds, discovering the connection of all things, establishing identity, meditation and changing neural pathways; in this conversation, Melinda and Cathy talked about how to actually experience deep heart connection with God and each other.
**This is an episode you do not want to miss!! It also includes a real-time exercise that you can do at home as you watch!** This conversation offers so much FREEDOM from religious messaging and brings the conversation and focus back to Jesus - the one who heals us. In this episode we talk with Melinda Wilson about spiritual abuse and religious trauma. Have you ever thought about receiving inner healing but feel unsafe to do so? Encountering the person of JESUS is what brings the healing. Melinda teaches Immanuel Approach, a healing modality which helps remove blockages that hinders deeper intimacy with Jesus. "When we encounter the living presence of Jesus and experience His presence, His "Glad-to-be-with-us-ness"... the definition of joy, then we receive healing. Attachment wounds and traumas of all kinds are healed by encountering the love of Jesus." The Immanuel Approach is trauma informed and is based on brain science. You will learn how to change your neural pathways and change the way you handle situations in your life. We also discuss some of the myths of heart healing, what it is and what it isn't. Melinda is co-founder of Face to Face Ministries, and has had the privilege of experiencing life as a missionary and student overseas for years. She has always had a heart to share who the real Jesus is with others in one capacity or another. After experiencing her own transformative heart healing over the years, she knew her calling was to see people set free to walk in their God-given design and in their true heart. She is passionate about teaching, training, and equipping men and women with practical skills and tools which bring healing and transformation to their everyday lives. *This special episode is dedicated to two "Girls Next Door" - Christine McVie and Robin Kaplin My Very Special Guest Today is David Leaf - Here to talk about his novel about his friendship with The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson. About “God Only Knows: The Story of Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys & the California Myth” Originally published in 1978 as The Beach Boys and the California Myth, this groundbreaking study was both the first full-length book on the band and the first to recognize Brian Wilson as one of the most significant and influential artists of the 20th century. Covering the turbulent family strife and internal conflicts as well as giving proper attention to the remarkable music, the book was an instant classic. An intimate look at Brian's rollercoaster of a life and career, it's told through the eyes of those who were there during Wilson's most legendary productions including Pet Sounds and Good Vibrations. Revised and updated, God Only Knows covers the decades since the 1985 edition, including Brian's first acclaimed solo album, his startling return to live performing, the landmark Pet Sounds tour, the All-Star Tribute to Brian Wilson (which David Leaf wrote and produced), and the triumphant and miraculous Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE world premiere in London. Filled with surprising revelations, insight, and behind-the-scenes detail, this indispensable book written by renowned Brian Wilson expert David Leaf also features forewords by the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb and Melinda Wilson. "David Leaf's matchless The Beach Boys and the California Myth overshadows any book that documents the group's most successful years." - The Guardian 'Leaf's book helped turn on a new generation to The Beach Boys and in particular to Brian Wilson's unique musical gifts. Given that so much has happened since the '85 edition there's much to add. Running parralel to The Beach Boys' story is that of Leaf himself, as he journeys from super-fan, to confidant, to collaborator and to ultimately being one of Brian's closest friends. The affection he feels for the subject matter is present on every page. Five stars." - Shindig! "When I championed the first edition of this book in 1978 in Melody Maker, I wrote "The definitive story. Probably the best book ever of any aspect of music history. A one of a kind effort, a new genre of journalism by going behind the scenes without sensationalizing." In our world, the sequel is almost never better than the original. But in the rock biography universe, David Leaf's God Only Knows: The Story of Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys and the California Myth is akin to The Godfather Part II. In this massive update, Leaf reveals deeper truths about Mr. Wilson that make his adventures with Brian feel like a page-turning novel" - Author and music historian Harvey Kubernik

My dear friends Cathy Little and Melinda Wilson from the Face to Face Ministries Podcast join us on the show today! Today, they share personal stories of how inner soul healing radically changed their lives. Cathy faced a season of suicidal thoughts after her marriage began to crumble. She devoted her life to the inner healing of her soul, she felt invited to dream again as a woman and a wife. When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you never stop walking. The table waits for you at the end. God rewrites your deepest, darkest, most shameful place to redeem you into your beautiful, chosen identity in Him. God does not leave things done halfway, he finishes what he started every time. God wants to embrace you with his father's heart. Today, if you feel neglected and scarred from trauma wounds, allow Jesus to parent you once again. He never left you, He's always loved every part of you as a little girl to now. The Lord loves you on your worst day. Allow Him to heal you from the inside out. Offerings: Want 6 free training videos from Dr. Barbara? Inner healing starts with relational connection with Jesus that removes the roadblocks of trauma. When you slow down, you feel your feels! People sometimes feel that pain is the enemy. Scripture reminds us three times that “Jesus wept” and He feels pain too (John 11:35). Cathy and Melinda remind us that the path to healing starts with momentarily sitting with the pain.
