A few creators have put videos up saying 20 mins is all you get before it overheats especially in 120fps 4K. For a company that is struggling financially, this could be the death stroke. Lets hope its just a protection system and a firmware patch can fix it for their sake. Sotheby's is having a back to the future auction! A great step i think and something people would forget a lot the logistical side of it. Whats strange to me is why haven't houses been required to have solar power installed as minimum require equipment as well and they have been around for years ? Self-lacing sneakers have been the dream since Marty McFly first rocked Nike MAGs in 1989, but most attempts at turning shoe leather into smart sneakers have been expensive, produced in small batches, and frankly, a little gimmicky. Until now: Earlier this week, Nike revealed Adapt BB, the company’s latest self-lacing basketball shoe. And these actually seem … smart. WIRED’s Peter Rubin joins the Gadget Lab podcast this week to talk about what it’s like to wear the new kicks, and describes all of the tech that goes into them. At $350, the Adapt BB’s are a little more accessible than previous iterations, though as Peter points out, they’re likely to be worn by professional athletes and Nike-backed college teams to start. Also on this week’s podcast: WIRED’s Nitasha Tiku talks about a group of Googlers who have launched a public awareness campaign about mandatory arbitration agreements, arguing that employers use them to suppress workers facing harassment and discrimination. Show notes: Peter’s story on Nike’s Adapt BB is here. Read all about mandatory arbitration at tech companies here. Worried about the latest data breach? Check and see if you’ve been hacked. Wish Google would make a legitimately sporty smartwatch to compete with Apple Watch? You might be in luck. Recommendations: Peter recommends watching Detroiters, on Comedy Central. Lauren recommends Fyre Fraud, on Hulu. Mike recommends watching the 1995 film Before Sunrise. Clearly, “watching gluttonous amounts of streaming media” is on our collective list of 2019 resolutions. 00:00 Intro 01:41 Begrüßung und Geplänkel 05:37 Organisatorisches / Ankündigung Gastkommentare 09:55 'Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst' mit 'Train to Busan' und 'Maniac' 16:16 'Zurück in die Zukunft RELOADED' mit 'Back to the Future Part II' - Darsteller, Story, Trivia & Eskapisten-Geballer par Excellence! 21:46 Gastkommentar von Martin vom 'Lesewut'-Podcast über seine Liebe zu 'BTTF 2' 105:39 Gastkommentar von Michael: Popkulturelle Referenzen und ganz viel Liebe für das Franchise 123:09 'Back to the Future Part III' - des Übliche, ihr wisst, was los is! 188:02 Gastkommentar von Joachim vom 'Kinemalismus'-Filmmagazin über Doc Brown und das Scheitern 213:33 "Und der Rest": Videogames, Cartoon-Serie und 'Back to the Future: The Ride' 235:31 Abmoderation und Tschüüüüüüüß "I don't believe it" - Doc Emmett Lathrop Brown In diesem Sinne, viel Spaß mit 'Zurück in die Zukunft RELOADED'! Eure Eskapisten Sascha und Daniel (und Markus und Lukas im Geiste!) Join Scott and Hamish as they go back to the (um...very recent past?) and conclude their two part series, breaking down the 2015 scenes from the iconic film "Back To The Future Part II"! In part one, they discussed 2015 Hill Valley. Now, for part two, they delve deep into the scenes that take place at the home of the now married Marty and Jennifer McFly in 2015's Hilldale. From thumb pads to multi channel TV's to robot chefs, they'll discuss what innovations and devices the movie got right, and what still looks like the future today. They'll also talk about how Pepsi mishandled their "Pepsi Perfect" campaign, how the USA Today did everything right with their Back To The Future promotion, and why shoes like Nike MAGs may actually be closer to hitting the shelves than we think.
