Welcome back to Ascending the Holy Mountain, a podcast brought you by Last Chance Podcast Network and Holy Mountain Printing. To learn more about the network and all of its shows, check the show notes for links, or head over to (www.lastchancepodcastnetwork.com). For all printing and design needs, click over to (www.holymountainprinting.com). Today our talented host, Erik of Raleigh NC band Demon Eye (www.demoneyeofficial.com) has an in person interview with Brian Walsby. Brian is considered by many to be an iconic punk rock artist, having WORKED for bands like Seven Seconds, The Descendents, Scared Straight, but he can generally found on tour with The Melvins, whom he has worked for since 2008. Brian has also been IN numerous bands like WWAX (with Mac from SUPERCHUNK and Merge Records), SNAKE NATION (project with Mike Dean and Woody Weatherman of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY), PATTY DUKE SYNDROME (with controversial songwriter Ryan Adams), SHINY BEAST, and a stint in POLVO, who he joined for their final album and tour. In recent years he was the drummer for local hardcore legends, DOUBLE NEGATIVE, and he currently plays with DAVIDIANS. Needless to say, he’s a man you NEED to know of. Brian is also the the author of an ongoing series of graphic novels, called Manchild, an autobiographical chronicle of his life as an aging punk rocker and a single father in contemporary society. His cartoons have been published in magazines like Maximum Rock and Roll, Flipside, Decibel, Chunklet, and Left of the Dial. Brian’s art, comics, books, t-shirt designs and all things Brian Walsby can be found at (www.brianwalsby.net). However, before the interview proper, we are honored again to sponsored by Mike Hill’s Savage Gold Coffee for another week. Savage Gold Coffee offers fair-trade, organically grown delicious coffee. Their fanbase mainly consisted of dudes in other bands that played with them and experienced the raw power of their live performance.Their first three albums "Craw", "Lost Nation Road" and "Map, Monitor, Surge" are out-of-print and pretty much impossible to find, so this reissue project that Hank has undertaken is truly something special.  Their final album "Bodies for Strontium 90" was released by Hydrahead Records and is still available. This episode is brought to you by SAVAGE GOLD COFFEE #staygold
