John Bush returns to Signals From Mars for Episode 460 to discuss Armored Saint in 2026, the new album Emotion Factory Reset, Punching The Sky, Dave Prichard, Jeff Duncan, Bob Nalbandian, Anthrax-era songs, Category 7, Metal Blade Records, touring, videos, songwriting, and the legacy of one of heavy metal's most respected voices.Victor and John dig into how Armored Saint balances classic heavy metal, hard rock, groove, melody, hooks, and modern production without losing the identity that has defined the band since March Of The Saint, Delirious Nomad, Raising Fear, Symbol Of Salvation, La Raza, Win Hands Down, Punching The Sky, and now Emotion Factory Reset. The conversation also explores the impact of Dave Prichard on Armored Saint's DNA, why Jeff Duncan deserves full recognition as part of the band's history, how technology changed music videos and recording, John revisiting his Anthrax material with Category 7, and what fans can expect from Armored Saint live in 2026.If you are a fan of John Bush, Armored Saint, Anthrax, Category 7, Metal Blade Records, classic heavy metal, hard rock interviews, metal podcasts, or deep conversations about music history, this episode is for you.Thank you to my Patrons for all of their supportSteven SailerSteve HoekerJeremy WeltmanMike JonesBrad DahlMark StriglGabriel RuizChris VaglioMetal DanJohan EderströmEd FergusonAnthony MackeyToni EspinSean RichmondYou can become a Patron for as little as $2 a month. INGESTED UK technical death metal juggernauts - Denigration full-length, released on May 8th through Metal Blade Records.INGESTED Presents “Oaths Betrayed” Lyric Video; Denigration Full-Length Out Today On Metal Blade Records + Chaos & Carnage Tour Underway! The band comments, “‘Oaths Betrayed' takes the language of faith, war, and destiny and turns it against the systems that abuse those ideas. The lyrics are about promises written in blood and enforced with steel; oaths that were supposed to protect but ended up binding people to suffering. It's a world where idols are pissed on, scriptures are burned, and yet people still march ‘through ruins to claim what's mine' because truth is the only thing left worth carrying. It's the sound of realizing that the divine has abandoned you, and deciding you'll carve your own laws into bone. “This song almost didn't make the cut, and now it's one of the tracks we reach for first. Musically, it hits that high-tempo, groove-driven, 2010s-era death metal energy, spiked with breakdowns that feel like the floor cracking open. It's urgent, almost martial at times, with riffs that march more than they sprint. Lyn's lyrical contribution here adds a different edge, more confrontational, more fixated on personal agency in the middle of collapse. ‘Oaths Betrayed' feels like a rallying cry in the second half of the record.”Denigration includes guest appearances by John Gallagher of Dying Fetus on “Watch You Fold,” Damonteal Harris of PeelingFlesh on “Merciless Reflection,” Skyler Conder of Cell on “Dragged Apart,” and Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher on “Dredge The Dark,” further amplifying the record's scope and intensityProduced by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios in Southport, UK, Denigration captures INGESTED at their sharpest and most forward-thinking. Interview by Kris PetersThis August, Tasmania's finest export, extreme metal pioneers, Psycroptic join like-minded-and-saxophone-wielding US progressive death wizards Rivers of Nihil for a co-headline tour that brings together two elite bands operating at the highest tier of modern death metal. For Psycroptic, the timing couldn't be stronger. Off the back of relentless global touring alongside the likes of Dying Fetus, Ne Obliviscaris and Six Feet Under, the recently released singles, Architecture of Extinction and Falling, plus their ninth studio album set for a mid year release via Metal Blade Records, the band continue to prove why they remain Australia's most respected technical metal export more than two decades in.Fellow Metal Blade label mates, Rivers of Nihil arrive riding the momentum of their 2025 self-titled release, a record that tightened their sound without losing the scope that has defined them since Where Owls Know My Name. Now fronted by bassist Adam Biggs, the band's current form is more potent than it ever was.Joining them on all dates are Melbourne's psychologically charged Growth who are on the eve of releasing part two of their highly anticipated album trilogy, Under The Under, and Sydney's uncompromisingly brutal, Slaughtercult, rounding out a bill that is equal parts precision, atmosphere and outright savagery.HEAVY caught up with Biggs to find out more, starting with what has changed with Rivers Of Nihil since they were last out here in 2023."Since then we've put out a new record that we did last year," he measured. "It's our fifth studio album and a self-titled record, and is the first one with yours truly on on vocals alongside our new guitarist, Andy Thomas, also providing his soaring clean vocals and such like that. So it's a mix up in the lineup of the band, but I think we've put together a strong cluster of songs, especially to bring to the stage."With the tour being billed as a co-headline event, we ask Biggs if that means themselves and Psycroptic will alternate playing last each night or whether it means something else."I think we're playing the same length set," he replied, obviously unsure himself. "I can't remember if we are alternating or not, but I'm fairly certain it's Psycroptic closing the show for the most part. I mean, we're on on their home turf and they're the national Australian death metal band so it's hard to argue with that (laughs)."In the full interview, Adam spoke more about the tour and what to expect, including having the final date at Necrosonic Festival in Brisbane. We talked about what fans can expect, as well as his recent transition to frontman and how easy that move was for him.Their latest self titled album was mentioned, including which album song was the most challenging to learn to play live and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Armored Saint guitarist Jeff Duncan pulls into the Krazy Train and Jasmin St. Claire is ready — because when one of heavy metal's most enduring bands drops a ninth studio album, you don't phone in the conversation. Emotion Factory Reset is out and Duncan breaks it all down — the writing process, the concept behind the new videos "Close To The Bone" and "Hit A Moonshot" including the real-life fighters who inspired it, and what it means for a band that has been together this long to still be making music that hits this hard. He gets into Armored Saint's legendary relationship with Metal Blade Records and founder Brian Slagel, why a brotherhood built in the early 80s Los Angeles metal scene is still standing when almost everything else from that era has fallen apart, and what playing the Rainbow Bar & Grill's 54th anniversary show felt like for a man who grew up on Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van Halen, and Judas Priest.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Season 20, Episode 49 of The Adventures of Pipeman. It's the Pipeman in the Pit weekly segment of The Adventures of Pipeman.Chapter 1: Carmine Appice and his reformed Cactus on behalf of the new blues rock album, Temple Of Blues II, that's due out April 3 via Cleopatra Records. Now the Temple opens again, this time for an all-star aggregation that recalls Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Bumblefoot, Dee Snider and Pat Travers from volume one, alongside an all-new wave of heavy hitters including Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot), Alex Skolnick (Testament), and a whole lot more! And Temple Of Blues II takes us back to their birth. That summer, Cactus were among the main attractions at the Isle of Wight Festival in England, and the new album's “Purple Haze” reunites them with both another of that bill's audience favorites, Melanie, and its overall headliner, Jimi Hendrix.Elsewhere on this thunderous sequel, Pat Travers returns for the mighty “Moanin' At Midnight,” Joe Lynn Turner joins Morse, Carmine's Guitar Zeus bandmate Tony Franklin and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) for “Bad Stuff,” Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns) lead the way for “The Little Red Rooster,” and Ted Nugent and Bob Daisley (Rainbow) join forces for an astonishing “Spoonful.”Track List:1. Back Door Man Pt. 1 & 2 feat. Eric Gales & Billy Sheehan 2. 300 Pounds Of Joy feat. Ty Tabor3. Moanin' At Midnight feat. Pat Travers4. Down In The Bottom feat. Dug Pinnick5. Token Chokin' feat. Bumblefoot6. Bad Stuff feat. Songs like “Close To The Bone,” “Hit A Moonshot,” and “Every Man-Any Man”The collaborative nature of Emotion Factory Reset led to the album title, a phrase from Phil Sandoval. “To me, ‘Emotion Factory Reset' means to reset yourself back to clarity. Take a pause and breathe before you respond or react. You can't control outside events, but you can control your mind,” the guitarist says. “How you interpret things is what hurts you, not the event itself.”ARMORED SAINT Presents “Hit A Moonshot” Video / Single From Emotion Factory Reset Full-LengthIn advance of the record's release, the band presents the first single and album opener, “Close To The Bone.” Comments Bush, “The first track on the record sounds like vintage ARMORED SAINT. Yet vintage that comes out in 2026! How did we do that? The title of the record, Emotion Factory Reset appears as the first line of the bridge. Killer riffs, awesome rhythms and attacking vocals gets this train rolling. The title implies the human response to withdraw and keep things to yourself instead of being confrontational; Something I believe we all struggle with as humans. Interview by Kris Peters“Each Armored Saint record, to me, is like a new skin for the band, a different chapter. I don't think we've ever repeated ourselves,” stated bassist Joey Vera. “Every album has been pretty different from the previous one, a snapshot in time. In 2026, Emotion Factory Reset is where our heads are at.”Emotion Factory Reset, Armored Saint's ninth full-length studio album since 1984's March of the Saint, bears out his words, the LP a resurrection of sorts, a tearing down and a rebuilding in 11 songs of diverse musicality and lyrical themes. Produced, as were the previous four albums, by Vera and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour), Emotion Factory Reset finds the quintet challenging themselves. Songs like Close to the Bone, Hit a Moonshot and Every Man-Any Man has Saint honoring their past as one of the most respected and recognizable bands in heavy music while making forward-thinking music rooted in the present. As with 2020's Punching the Sky, Armored Saint are always about punching above their weight and succeeding. Emotion Factory Reset reaches further, both inward and outward. “I mean, there's never gonna be another Master of Puppets or Appetite for Destruction,” vocalist John Bush says. “We can all take inspiration from our previous records, but that was a different time. Armored Saint don't want to make another March of the Saint. I want to keep moving forward, but we know who we are, it's not like we're going to dish out the new trip hop, black metal, bluegrass album.”HEAVY sat down with Vera to dig deeper."You know, every time we make a record, I try not to think too much about that," he replied when asked to describe what the band were going for musically with the album. "Like what are we going to do? What kind of a record are we going to make? Or what direction are we going in? All that stuff. I don't like to really talk about it too much. Because for me, it puts on a little bit too much expectation; it puts like a boundary on it and I'd rather the playing field be able to just be wide open.So the only thing that I really was attempting to do this time was to write songs that were a little more concise in their arrangements and the song length. I have a tendency to write long songs; longer songs than normal. So I wanted to challenge myself and challenge the listeners along the way to see if I could write shorter songs, basically, for lack of a better explanation. Our goal is to really just challenge ourselves as songwriters and try not to make the same record twice. We're always trying to push the boundaries a little bit without alienating all our fans, of course. So there's a fine line between brilliance and stupidity (laughs), but there is a fine line between and paying homage to where we come from."In the full interview, Joey described the band's deliberate songwriting approach for this record, noting they intentionally wrote shorter, more concise arrangements while pushing stylistic boundaries and maintaining continuity with their past work. He explained the album balances influences from 1970s classic rock, early 1980s hard rock, and contemporary sounds to produce a fresh yet familiar record for longtime fans.Joey also described the album-title selection process, saying the title came from a line in the song Close to the Bone after the band considered many lyrical options before settling on Emotion Factory Reset. He reflected on the creative challenge of beginning a record, stating that starting the first songs is the hardest part and that inspiration requires sustained effort and patience, the early days of the band and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Send us Fan MailFor this conversation, we connected with Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds of Life to dive into their upcoming eighth full-length The Dead Ones, set for release April 17 via Metal Blade Records. Marking the band's debut on the label, the record stands as an intense and deeply personal chapter—pushing their signature heaviness into darker, more introspective territory while refining a sound built to feel as massive as it is deliberate.Throughout the discussion, we explored Tyler's role in shaping this new era of the band, from stepping into an established legacy to carving out his own voice within it. We also dug into the album's central themes of death, rebirth, and the human experience, as well as how working with Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland helped bring that “rolling tank” sonic identity to life. With The Dead Ones poised to mark a defining moment in the band's evolution, The Last Ten Seconds of Life continue to push forward with purpose—balancing raw emotion, crushing intensity, and a clear vision for what comes next.Stay connected with TLTSOL, visit: https://www.thelasttensecondsoflife.com/, https://www.instagram.com/tltsol/, and https://www.facebook.com/thelasttensecondsoflife/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/

The Last Ten Seconds of Life were forged in 2010. Within a year, they were touring regularly and had self-released their debut album, Know Your Exits. By 2013, they unleashed their second album, Invivo [Exvivo], the prolific act would go on to release five more full lengths, each earning Billboard chart placements and reaping critical accolades both stateside and abroad. With a total of 50+ tours since 2011 with bands including Sepultura, Cattle Decapitation and The Black Dahlia Murder, TLTSOL are showing no signs of slowing down. On the contrary, they're looking to a 2026-2027 that's among the busiest times in the band's history. “Everyone in the group was a teenager or in their early 20s when this band started,” says guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin, concluding, “The sonic and lyrical growth has been immeasurable in ability and maturity. At this point it seems like another life!”Intense and intensely personal, the band's upcoming new album The Dead Ones marks THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE's Metal Blade Records debut. For the ten original tracks of pulverizing deathcore produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Pennsylvania's Atrium Audio, the band focused on the guitar, bass, and drum tones as well as the mix/master to achieve what McLaughlin calls, “a super-thick sonic output and ‘rolling-tank'-like feel.”Lyrically, The Dead Ones follows 2024's acclaimed No Name Graves in the theme of death and rebirth, but in contrast, is directly focused on the human experience and the band members' own struggles. The Last Ten Seconds of Life have never been stronger as a unit. With singer Tyler Beam, bassist Andrew Petway and drummer Dylan Potts in the band since 2022, the chemistry is super-charged. “Everyone is very direct and any bumps in the road are solved through group conversations,” McLaughlin says. “Sometimes it takes years to find the right mix of people who all coincide at the right times in their lives to coexist and elevate each other and this is it for us.”HEAVY caught up with Tyler to find out more. We start by asking how he is feeling about the release."It is without a doubt the best piece of music that any of us have created or collaborated on," he replied confidently and honestly. "It's got a little piece of everything that we've ever made, put all together in one big album. And we touched on everything that the band has kind of touched on before since the beginning of the discography up into right now. So it's just a potpourri of everything that we absolutely love about the band."In the full interview, Tyler described the record as a concentrated blend of the band's past styles with an emphasis on heavy, groovy songwriting and tighter song structures after prior experimentation.Discussion then covered personnel and influences that shaped the record: the drummer's precision-focused death metal background, the bassist's Northeast deathcore roots, and Tyler's expanded songwriting role on this album. Guest appearances were drawn from longtime friends and alumni, including the original lead singer on one track as an homage to the band's past. Technical choices contributing to the band's distinct low-end included a six-string baritone tuned to drop F. He outlined the album's lyrical and conceptual focus that centers on themes of death, rebirth, and community identity as The Dead Ones and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

When we first interviewed Metal Blade Records CEO/Founder Brian Slagel, one of the true godfathers of heavy metal, he told us about his first ever concert - KISS on the Alive! Tour in 1976. Talk about a high bar to live up to for rock n roll live production!?! Who would he find that can deliver such a live performance? The answer is Iron Maiden, the heavy metal pioneers that Brian has witnessed live over 300x, who incorporate all kinds of props, blistering playing, lights, pyro and even an enormous mascot, Eddie. Brian takes us back to 1981 as Maiden were opening for Judas Priest. Brian tells us how he sold the album Killers in his record store to help promote the band he loved and sought out every album and single from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal he could get his hands on. So he jumped on a plane to Houston to see his favorite band. Hear how Brian was thwarted by Texas cops as he attempted to headbang, how his buddy gave him a ride to interview Steve Harris at the hotel after the show and the power of Maiden during the early years. Brian also talks about how Paul Di'Anno dropped a bomb on him ahead of a show in Long Beach as he interviewed him for his fanzine, The New Heavy Metal Revue. It was our pleasure to spend time with one of the true pioneers of metal, especially in the US, and hear how his first Maiden show ranks against the 300+ concerts he's seen with the boys over 45 years. Interview by Ali WilliamsNecrofier are in that familiar pre-release purgatory where everything important is finished and everything annoying begins. When HEAVY caught up with Christian Larson (guitar, vocals), it was early, coffee was scarce on both sides of the planet, and the band's third full-length was suddenly two weeks from release. No drama, no manufactured hype. Just the calm chaos of a band doing the work. The bands latest record Transcend Into Oblivion -out now - , marks Necrofier's first release on Metal Blade Records, following earlier releases with Season of Mist. Larson talks about it like someone who's already emotionally moved on, not because it fell short, but because it was finished nearly a year ago. That distance has given the band clarity and allowed them to be confident in the songs, the mix, and the overall execution, even if revisiting the material now feels like reopening a time capsule from a previous headspace. Originally conceived as a non-live studio project, Necrofier evolved quickly into a full touring entity, and the resume reflects it. US tours, major festivals, and shared stages with the likes of UADA and 1349 haven't shifted the band's core focus. They're still firmly rooted in black metal, without getting distracted by the endless micro-labels that seem to appear every six months. Larson is refreshingly blunt about it. They know what they are, they know what they play, and they're not interested in inventing a new genre name just to keep up with internet trends. The album itself took a more layered approach than previous releases. Songs were written in advance, tracked across multiple studios, and refined with more breathing room than the band had previously allowed themselves. That extra time wasn't about over-polishing, but control. It gave Necrofier the ability to think, adjust, and add texture without the pressure cooker environment of a single studio lock-in. The result, by Larson's account, is a record that feels deliberate rather than rushed. Visuals played a larger role this time too. Multiple music videos were shot with both long-time collaborators and new creatives, blending live performance footage with subtle narrative and animated elements. Nothing overcooked. Just enough to complement the songs without distracting from them.Away from the album cycle, Larson comes across as a lifer. Someone who's been in doom bands, punk bands, death metal bands, and everything in between. His vinyl collection, stacked somewhere behind him on the call, mirrors that history. Old punk, classic metal, country records, black metal staples. Records he's owned since he was fifteen and still spins, not museum pieces collecting dust. Touring plans are in motion but intentionally unannounced. Europe is on the horizon, the US will follow, and Australia has been discussed, if not yet mapped. There's no false certainty offered, just the quiet confidence of a band that knows momentum doesn't need to be shouted about to be real. Necrofier sound like a band comfortable in their lane, uninterested in chasing novelty, and focused on longevity rather than noise. With their third album about to land and a bigger platform beneath them, they're not reinventing themselves. They're sharpening what already works. And honestly, that restraint might be the most telling thing of all.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.
UK progressive death metal outfit CRYPTIC SHIFT released their Overspace & Supertime full-length on February 27 through Metal Blade Records. While not commonly known as an extraterrestrial hotspot, Leeds faced an encounter of another kind in 2015 when vocalist/guitarist Alexander Bradley and drummer Ryan Sheperson set out to accomplish a project embodying their joint passion for the art of science fiction and heavy metal music. With CRYPTIC SHIFT taking form as a crossover between the worlds of technical thrash/death metal and all things sci-fi, the two set out to spread their influence across the UK and soon ventured across the globe.CRYPTIC SHIFT unveiled their debut full-length, Visitations From Enceladus, in 2020. The offering helped bring the band to the worldwide playing-field, receiving critical acclaim for its adventurous, progressive technical death thrash compositions, a twisted form of extreme metal simply referred to as the “Phenomenal Technological Astrodeath.”This year's Overspace & Supertime continues the conceptual and musical themes of their debut and delivers a new standard of technical thrash/death metal showmanship, including returning influences of progressive writing, harmonized with their fantastical storytelling.“The concept of Overspace & Supertime plays as an alternative reality to the happenings of Visitations From Enceladus, taking our character into new dimensions filled with both greater adventures and more bizarre encounters,” notes drummer Ryan Sheperson. “Whilst the concept themes of our sci-fi tale have grown, so have our efforts in synthesizing it with the ultimate Astrodeath soundscape. The record takes the listener on a deeper journey through the fusion of our influences, with some exciting twists and turns along the way.”HEAVY sat down with both Ryan and Alexander to get more information.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

This week we conclude Jarvis' three-part interview of Cirith Ungol founder / drummer Robert Garven going back through the mists of time to the early days of that legendary band. Rob explains how vocalist Tim Baker came into the fold and talks about the previous singer, Neil Beattie. He goes on to tell the remarkable story of how the Frost and Fire debut album came to be. It was a completely DIY affair, from financing to recording to artwork to pressing to distribution, which was unheard of in those days. Rob also explains how he obtained the legal right to use the Cirith Ungol name from the Lord of the Rings books. It's a fascinating dive into a bygone era, at the very dawn of heavy metal in America. Welcome back to When Words Fail, Music Speaks—the show that battles depression one riff at a time. I'm your host, James Cox, a proud “handicapped” rocker on a mission to prove that music has no language barriers. In today's episode we sit down with Askhan, the visionary founder, vocalist, and creative force behind Nine Treasures, the Mongolian folk‑metal outfit that's been turning heads worldwide. Fresh off the release of their new album and a landmark signing with Metal Blade Records, Oscar shares how the band fuses ancient Mongolian melodies—complete with the haunting horse‑head fiddle—into thunderous modern metal. We'll explore how Askhan balances reverence for his cultural heritage with personal storytelling, the Buddhist ideas that quietly shape his songwriting, and the collaborative shift that let his bandmates take the reins on half the new record. From his favorite global metal influences—Pantera, Megadeth, In Flames, and Children of Bodø—to his secret love of liquid drum‑and‑bass for relaxation, Askhan reveals the eclectic soundtrack that fuels his creative engine. Finally, we ask the big “what‑if” questions: which dead‑or‑alive artist would he love to collab with (hint: think Limp Bizkit), what message he wants the next generation of Mongolian metal musicians to carry forward, and the most powerful fan moment that proved music truly saves lives.Grab your headphones, settle in, and let the fusion of myth, metal, and mindfulness guide you through another powerful conversation—because when words fail, music always speaks.

Loaded Radio Podcast: Greg Burgess of Allegaeon Discusses 'The Ossuary Lens' & Warfield Talks Thrash Metal TL;DR On this episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, Scott Penfold sits down with Greg Burgess of Allegaeon to discuss the band's latest album, “The Ossuary Lens”, which was released on April 4 via Metal Blade Records. This marks the band's first new music featuring original vocalist Ezra Haynes since his departure in 2015. Also featured is a conversation with German thrash metal trio Warfield, who recently released their new album, “With The Old Breed” via Napalm Records. Allegaeon Returns with 'The Ossuary Lens' Technical death metal powerhouse Allegaeon has unleashed their latest full-length album, “The Ossuary Lens,” released on April 4 via Metal Blade Records. This album marks a significant moment for the band, as it is their first release with original vocalist Ezra Haynes since his 2015 departure following the “Elements Of The Infinite” album. The return of Haynes brings back Allegaeon's brutal and technically dazzling sound, which fans have been eagerly awaiting. The band's latest single, “Driftwood,” serves as a powerful introduction to the new record, with its unique blend of melodic, technical death metal — a sound Haynes describes as “melotech.” “We're just so happy to finally release new music,” said Greg Burgess. “We're working on a full album's worth of material, but I feel like it's gonna drop kind of in chunks and then hopefully the rest of it all at once kind of thing.” Recording once again with producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio studio in Denver, Allegaeon continues their 17-year relationship with the producer. “Dave always provides a comfortable working environment, amazing ideas, and a career-spanning understanding of what has made Allegaeon, Allegaeon,” added Burgess. The album's overarching theme focuses on various perspectives of death, with each track exploring a unique viewpoint. Haynes explained, “Each song essentially is a different topic, however there is always a different perspective of death tied to each subject.” Allegaeon's Latest Album - 'The Ossuary Lens' Track Listing: 01. Refraction 02. Chaos Theory 03. Driftwood 04. Dies Irae 05. The Swarm 06. Carried By Delusion 07. Dark Matter Dynamics 08. Imperial 09. Wake Circling Above 10. Scythe Warfield - German Thrash Metal Titans Alongside the conversation with Greg Burgess, the Loaded Radio Podcast also features an interview with German thrash metal band Warfield. Their latest album, “With The Old Breed,” was released via Napalm Records and continues their tradition of relentless thrash metal inspired by bands like Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, and the Bay Area Thrash scene. Warfield, consisting of Johannes Clemens (Vocals & Bass), Matthias Clemens (Guitar), and Dominik Marx (Drums), is known for their aggressive approach to social and political themes, which they express through their brutal and fast-paced sound. Their most recent album follows their 2018 debut, “Wrecking Command,” which was released via Metal on Met
We all have vivid memories of our first rock concerts. You know the ones - when you're young, full of anticipation with no knowledge or understanding of the assault on your senses that a great rock show brings. These are the moments we capture on First Concert Memories and for episode 21, we have none other than Brian Slagel. Yes metalheads, THE Brian Slagel who founded Metal Blade Records more than 40 years ago. The first man to put a Metallica song on a commercially available tape. That's how we know Brian. But on this episode, he's taking us back to when he was a 16 year old KISS fan, hoping to get to see his heroes live for the first time. Thankfully, his neighbor Carl Graves (a performer and musician in his own right who would tour with Oingo Boingo in the 80s & 90s) told Brian's mother that he'd take him to the show and make sure he got home safe. So Brian saw his first ever concert - KISS on the Alive! Tour on February 24, 1976. A teenage Brian was blown away by the pyro, the fire and blood spitting demon, the loudness of the Marshall stacks and the spectacle that a KISS concert in 1976 offered. Brian also tells us about getting to know the original members of KISS on a personal basis, which band he's seen over 300x and his killer new podcast - The 100 Songs That Define Heavy Metal.
