We're back after a four month hiatus to bring you our list of the top 100 albums of 2023. Is it, at bare minimum, a month and a half late? Yes. By "we" do we mean "just Brad because Sean wouldn't want any part of this nonsense"? Yes again. But whatever, we're doing it anyway. It has been another great year for music, which at this point should not be shocking. We've got incredible team-ups galore, big names from the past making a mark in the present, new names bursting on to the scene, everything and the kitchen sink albums, spoken word weirdness, hip-hop standard bearers still innovating, gloopy synths, the sounds of a haunted house, and above all else, a lot of very aggressive, noisy music. It was a hell of a year. So... enjoy? (We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming... eventually. Probably soon. We are still reeling from the Detroit Lions losing the NFC Championship game, so it might be a while) Artists Discussed (In Alphabetical Order): 2FAC, Aaron Dilloway, Aho Ssan, Altin Gun, Ana Frango Elétrico, Armand Hammer, Bandler Ching, BBBBBBB, Bill Orcutt, Billy Woods & Kenny Segal, Bounaly, Brass Riot, Bully, Caterina Barbieri, Charif Megarbane, Colin Stetson, Dead Times, Deena Abdelwahed, Disclosure, Divide and Dissolve, DJ Finale, DJ Girl, DJ Smiley Bobby, EABS & Jaubi, El Michels Affair & Black Thought, Ellen Arkbro, Embarker, Emergency Group, Euglossine, Fever Ray, Fire Toolz, Forest Swords, Gazelle Twin, Gezan & Million Wish Collective, Great Falls, Guilty Simpson & Uncommon NASA, Hitech, Hourloupe, Hyphyskazerbox, ICECOLDBISHOP, Jana Winderen, Janelle Monáe, Jlin, JPEGmafia & Danny Brown, Judgitzu, Karen y los Remedios, Katarsi, KEN Mode, Kool Keith & Real Bad Man, Kouns and Weaver, Larry Wish, Lauren Bousfield, Loraine James, Lost Girls, Lunch Money Life, Madlib, Meyhem Lauren, & DJ Muggs, Mallwalker, Marina Herlop, Matmos, MC Yallah, Mendoza Hoff Revels, MIKE, Mike Nigro, Model/Actriz, Mukqs, M-Ziq, Natalia Beylis & Eimear Reidy, Neupink, Novatron, Nuovo Testamento, Oozing Wound, OrangeTone, Organized Cream, Ortopedia Tecnica, Osees, Paavoharju, Physique, PoiL/Ueda, Private Lives, RP Boo, Screaming Females, Shit And Shine, Sightless Pit, Silver Apples & Makoto Kawabata, Sunik Kim, Sweeping Promises, TALSounds, Tee Vee Repairman, Teeth of the Sea, That Mexican OT, The Gate, The HIRS Collective, Tim Hecker, Tinashe, Tzusing, Victoria Monet, Vorsicht Kinder, Wound Man, Zoh Amba/Chris Corsano/Bill Orcutt --- Website: www.queenvenerator.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/queenvenerator/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/queenvenerator.bsky.social
From the Great White North, it's KEN Mode! Jesse Matthewson is the vocalist/guitarist over these noise mongers and let me be clear...you have to listen to them if you are a fan of all things noisy/ugly. Jesse was a great hang as we got to discuss what it was like winning a JUNO award (Canadian Grammy Award), being a late bloomer band and the importance of noise. It's the final days of 2023 and therefore time for us once again to reflect on all of the amazing music released this year. 2023 will go down in We Dig Music history as the year Tracey went Pop, Colin went cynical, And Ian continued submitting doom metal songs almost as long as the rest of the playlist put together. We've each chosen our 10 favourite songs of the year and sent them over to Colin's wife Helen, who put the playlists together and distributed them so we were each given a playlist of the 20 songs from the other two hosts, along with our own 10. We then ranked the playlists in order of preference and sent them back to Helen, who totalled up the points and worked out the order. She also joined us on the episode to read out the countdown, which we found out as we recorded so all reactions are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three separate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of that year. Bands featured in this episode include (In alphabetical order, no spoilers here!) - Bell WItch, Blink 182, Boygenius, The Bug Club, Cloth, CLT DRP, Craven Faults, Crosses, Darkher, Doja Cat, Drab Majesty ft Rachel Goswell, Fred Again & Brian Eno, Kenya Grace, Heartworms, The Hives, KEN Mode, Lichen Slow, O., Caroline Polachek, Рожь, Quiet Man, Ren, Olivia Rodrigo, Monika Roscher Bigband, Sleep Token, Sparks, Special Friend, Sunnsetter, Svalbard, & Yo La Tengo.Find all songs in alphabetical order here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5Q6haXdmCbDR2quq13dX6N?si=e3c4280a88c642d0Find our We Dig Music Pollwinners Party playlist (featuring all of the winning songs up until now) here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/45zfDHo8zm6VqrvoEQSt3z?si=Ivt0oMj6SmitimvumYfFrQ If you want to listen to megalength playlists of all the songs we've individually picked since we started doing best of the year episodes, you can listen to Colin's here – https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5x3Vy5Jry2IxG9JNOtabRT?si=HhcVKRCtRhWCK1KucyrDdg Ian's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2H0hnxe6WX50QNQdlfRH5T?si=XmEjnRqISNqDwi30p1uLqA and Tracey's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2p3K0n8dKhjHb2nKBSYnKi?si=7a-cyDvSSuugdV1m5md9Nw The playlist of 20 songs from the other two hosts was scored as usual, our favourite song got 20 points, counting down incrementally to our least favourite which got 1 point. The scoring of our own list of 10 is now slightly more complicated in order to give a truer level of points to our own favourites. So rather than them only being able to score as many points as our 10th favourite in the other list, the points in our own list were distributed as follows -1st place - 20 points2nd place - 18 points3rd place – 16 points4th place – 14 points5th place – 12 points6th place – 9 points7th place – 7 points8th place – 5 points9th place – 3 points10th place -1 pointHosts - Ian Clarke, Colin Jackson-Brown & Tracey BGuest starring Helen Jackson-Brown.Playlist compiling/distributing – Lydia ClarkeRecorded/Edited/Mixed/Original Music by Colin Jackson-Brown for We Dig PodcastsThanks to Peter Latimer for help with the scoring system.Say hello at www.facebook.com/wedigmusicpcast or tweet us at http://twitter.com/wedigmusicpcast or look at shiny pictures on Instagram at http://instagram.com/wedigmusicpcast Part of the We Made This podcast network. https://twitter.com/wmt_network You can also find all the We Dig Music & Free With This Months Issue episodes at www.wedigpodcasts.com
Legendary rockers WASP are always a great time. Either on the live front or their immense discography. Case in point - we had a fantastic time merely talking about their wicked cover of The Who's "The Real Me". So we figured we'd crank up the volume and dedicate an entire discussion segments to Blackie And The Boys. We share our fave songs, albums, live experiences and how we first discovered the controversial outfit. And of course, our own personal stories pertaining to the one of LA's finest. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the announced Pantera live date in our area and the infamous "WKRP" Turkey Drop segment. Musically, we crank new tunage from The Rods, KEN Mode, End Reign and Outergods. Horns Up and Stay Healthy! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. This week's Loaded Radio Podcast features KEN MODE frontman Jesse Matthewson and DEATH DEALER UNION drummer CC McKenna Winnipeg, Manitoba noise-rockers KEN MODE have the new album "Void" available now, which acts as the direct folow-up to the band's 2022 release "Null". Across two powerful albums, KEN MODE, consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Jesse Matthewson, drummer Shane Matthewson, bassist and vocalist Scott Hamilton, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Kathryn Kerr, expressed their reaction to the pandemic with a blend of experimentation, aggression, and captivating noise. "Null," which was released in 2022, marked the beginning of this two-album cycle. Exactly one year later, the band returns with their searing follow-up, "Void." During the interview, Jesse discusses the difficult process of bringing the two albums to fruition, working through and even overcoming mental and emotional challenges and his pride in waving the flag that is "noise rock". Los Angeles, California's DEATH DEALER UNION, who recently welcomed Lena Scissorhands of INFECTED RAIN as their vocalist during the summer, recently inked a global deal with Napalm Records. The band's lineup features drummer CC McKenna (who joins us this week), guitarists Valentin Voluta and Doug Weiand, and bassist Jonny Heinz. Their debut studio album, titled "Initiation," is out now and showcases the pinnacle of gothic power metal. During the show, CC talks his writing process, how Lena came to join DEATH DEALER UNION and the upcoming plans for the new act.

Squarespace will honor existing customer pricing for at least 12 months following the completion of the purchase. It will also use Google's infrastructure to ensure a "seamless transfer of domains." For existing customers, Squarespace will provide billing and support for Google Workspace customers who've already purchased domains through Google Domains. However, as time goes on and as subscriptions start to renew, these customers will likely be forced to migrate to Squarespace's billing system. The acquisition is not surprising, as Squarespace is already a behemoth in the websites and domain space. However, it is a little more surprising that Google is selling, as the company is notorious for abandoning established products at any time.https://newsroom.squarespace.com/blog/googledomains ~Twitter - A group of music publishers is suing Twitter for $250 million, alleging that the company has done little to stop users from uploading and sharing copyrighted music on the platform. The lawsuit, filed by the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), claims that Twitter has "routinely ignored" requests for takedowns and that it is one of the only major social media platforms that does not have licensing agreements in place with music publishers. The NMPA also alleges that Twitter is less likely to take action against verified accounts that share copyrighted music, even though these accounts often have large follower bases. If the lawsuit is successful, it could force Twitter to pay out millions of dollars in damages and could also lead to changes in the way the company handles copyright infringement.https://www.engadget.com/music-publishers-are-suing-twitter-for-250-million-over-massive-copyright-infringement-082421118.html SuggestsResident Evil… ANY OF THEM!Comic Books/BooksTrailersX-Men Hellfire Club - https://youtu.be/9akSSU1_Ftg the book that will kick off the Fall of X arc hits shelves July 26th.Reg ‘ol NewsEnergon - Transformers and GI Joe shared universe. This week we welcome Mitch Oliver and Skot Hamilton to the podcast. We had Skot on the show recently to talk about KEN Mode, his work in the film industry and his scoring work on the short horror film The Druid's Hand. Mitch is an award-winning Writer and Director whose recent short film, The Druid's Hand, received international acclaim on the 2022 Festival Circuit. The film was screened to numerous sold-out theatres at prestigious Genre Festivals like Portland Horror, Dark Bridges, Fog Fest, Sin City Horror and the world's largest and longest running Horror Festival, Screamfest, which took place at the iconic Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, California. The film won Best Canadian Short Film at Montreal's Requiem Fear Fest and the Vancouver Independent Film Festival. He is also a host of the horror podcast, The Terror Table and has interviewed genre legends such as Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and Dean Cundey (Jurassic Park, Halloween, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China). On this week's episode of the Canadian Musician Podcast, we're joined by KEN mode vocalist/guitarist Jesse Matthewson, ahead of the release of the Winnipeg noise rock outfit's latest offering, Null. Matthewson gets candid about what life on tour is really like, what it takes to work together as a band, and how he keeps his performances consistent as he gets older. KEN mode, formed in 1999 by Matthewson, along with his brother, drummer Shane Matthewson, has released eight studio albums and done a massive amount of touring in their tenure as a band. They also took home a JUNO Award in 2012 for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year for their album Venerable.

We had a jam packed week! Jammed enough that we felt it was best to just dedicate the bulk of the show to basically being one big "Metal Fix". More importantly though, we lost one of the all time greats in The Exalted Piledriver. We were huge Piley fans from the get-go and late in his life considered him a friend. So we pay tribute to this great man and crank some key tracks. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we were super busy on the live front, took in the Rolling Stones "Unzipped" exhibit and gave adam levine a big FU! Musically, we crank new and used from the aforementioned Piledriver, D.R.I., KEN Mode, Zombi, Imperial Triumphant, Metalucifer, Vile Creature and Dogs With Jobs! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!! Steve and Sam have spent the week catching up on all manner of indie and alternative music, and give their thoughts on the latest releases from Pixies, Suede, Orville Peck, Life, KEN Mode, Sports Team and Wargasm. Plus we review the big new metal album of the week courtesy of Slipknot's The End, So Far.There's also chat about Mel C refuting 25 year old claims of Maggie Thatcher being the original Spice Girl, the fury of Ian Brown fans, who have had to bare witness to something truly horrifying... namely, seeing Ian Brown live. And we discuss the songs that have been stuck in our head this week, one from 70's "Queen of disco" Sylvester and another from Kevin Martin's dub heavy The Bug project. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

This week we have another double feature as Loaded Radio's Scott Penfold sits down with KEN MODE vocalist/guitarist Jesse Matthewson and GOATWHORE drummer Zack Simmons. KEN MODE have unleashed their eighth studio LP, "Null", which arrived on September 23 via Artoffact Records. "Null" follows KEN MODE's 2018 album "Loved", and marks the group's first to fully feature new addition Kathryn Kerr (TANSY, VIVA NON) as a full-time member of the band. Kerr had previously played saxophone on "Loved", while "Null" features the multi-instrumentalist performing as a full-time member of the heavy noise-rock that is KEN MODE. The second portion of the show features a discussion with GOATWHORE drummer Zack Simmons. GOATWHORE will release their new album, "Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven", on October 7 via Metal Blade Records. Unquestionably GOATWHORE's strongest, most accomplished album to date in sound, concept, and execution, "Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven" emits 47 desolating minutes of the band's trademark fusion of death, black, thrash, and classic metal. Delivered with breathless intensity and an unapologetic bloodlust, the twelve-track offering stands among the most thrilling records to come out of 2022. So sit back and tune in to the latest edition of THE LOADED RADIO PODCAST below or wherever yo get your podcasts.

NULL is upon us. It is the latest record by Noise-mongers KEN Mode, whose version of Blackened Hardcore might be the most intricate thing to grasp, when trying to unravel all the single elements of their music. Together their music is somewhere AmRep, Relapse, Black Metal, Hardcore and so much more. Therefore we are lung-explodingly proud to present you this interview with mastermind Jesse Matthewson today! KEN Mode - the name itself will be explained in the video - is one of those bands beloved by people from various genres as they themselves are hardcore-punk by attitude for sure, noise by sound definitely, black metal by riffing basically and yet they are so much more. In our interview Jesse confirms his love for the Melvins, why he's nowadays so fond of modern recording equipment and why he likes later Propagandhi more than their earlier stuff. Enjoy our latest videos and tell us what you think of KEN Mode and their new record NULL which you can order here.

Our beloved genre is fuelled by passion. Sometimes it's this passion that drives fans to do some crazy things. Case in point - "Rag'R" super fan Mitch. Banger TV YouTube series "Heavy Metal Hitchhiker" focus' on this good hearted gas attendant's race against time to return a guitar to his heroes and be given a roadie job in return. And of course, it's comedy of errors and hilarity ensues. We're always on the look out for cool interview subjects beyond the usual, so this time we sat down with the lovable Mitch, stand up comedian Mr. Garrett Jamieson. We get into the origin of the story, all that he brings to the role and the soundtrack of Mitch's life. A star is born! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go thru Mitch's record collection and grab some Capra, Deadwolff, KEN Mode, Hellripper, Spectral Wound, Shroud Of Vultures and play a cool split feat. Agent Mulder and Bad Acid Trip in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. Summon the coffee demons to possess yourself a cup today! Here is Dreams of Consciousness Podcast Episode 170, featuring an interview with Michael Klassen of Culted. Since 2009, Culted have been releasing a black metal and noise inflected vision of doom - and as unlikely as it sounds, the four members of the band have never played in the same room. Most of the group is based in Canada, while their vocalist lives in Sweden, making his contributions remotely. I spoke with guitarist Michael Klassen about his lifelong friendship with bandmates Matthew Friesen and Kevin Stevenson, as well as how Myspace and a growing interest in noise music led them to enlist vocalist Daniel Jansson. Michael also talked to me about the difficult period in the band members' lives that led to their latest album, Nous , as well as how Jesse from KEN Mode helped get Culted on Season Of Mist. My thanks to Michael for speaking with me, and to all of you for listening. From sound insights to songwriting, recording with Kurt Ballou and thoughts on the album, to news about what's cooking in the KEN Mode camp, this one's a long listen.Check out Venerable & KEN Mode's discography at http://kenmode.bandcamp.comCatch up with Peter and Animesh at www.hornsuppod.comSubscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, or add the RSS feed to your preferred podcast player. When I transferred the huge Witchpolice archive over to the current hosting site, about 50 episodes from 2013-14 got missed. Although they've always been available, buried on the old Witchpolice site, they've never been formally discoverable on podcast platforms like Spotify or Apple Podcasts. So here's another archival episode, originally released as #71, featuring Jesse Matthewson of Winnipeg noise rockers [KEN mode](http://www.ken-mode.com/). The interview took place shortly before they hit the studio to record their *Success* LP. NOTE: In the intro I say this was 2015 (and on the cover image), but upon further research, it was actually from 2014. Oops. At the time this episode originally came out, Witchpolice Radio had a very different format. We (I wasn't the only host!) weren't only interviewing local musicians, but were asking them to select songs from their own record collections based on randomly-generated theme words. Due to the sketchy legality of broadcasting other people's songs without permission, the selections are edited out of this episode, but it's still a great conversation, and was one of my favourites of the early years of the podcast. KEN mode is definitely a band I'd love to get back on the podcast, especially in the current interview-specific format, so I'll have to work on making that happen again soon. Enjoy. This episode is brought to you by our pals at [the Park Theatre](http://www.myparktheatre.com/), as well as the [Beer Boutique](http://www.facebook.com/beerboutiquewpg/), managed by Winnipeg punk mainstay StevO Nelson.

Mitch and Buzi welcome very special guest Skot Hamilton of Ken Mode, Adolyne, CFCR and The Broadway theatre to discuss his history with the genre as well as an in depth and heartfelt main feature discussion on THE EVIL DEAD(1981). Better late than never. Canadian metallic noise rockers KEN Mode have obviously been on our radar from the get go. The Season Of Mist recording artists are an established, internationally renowned touting outfit. But they're also hometown heroes only now finally getting their spot on the "Creature Feature" hotseat. Right before hitting the stage in their primo slot at the Manitoba Metalfest, we sat down with all three members of the 'Mode - Jesse Mathewson (vox, axe), Shane Mathewson (drums), and Skot Hamilton (bass). We go over the latest record "Loved", their spot and impact on the Seasons label and just have a whole lotta fun. A highly entertaining chat not to be missed. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the "perfect song" and give the Horns for "Vinnie Paul Day". Musically, we crank the new KEN Mode, new tunes from Full of Hell, SunnO))), Burial and introduce Montreal metallers Ghoulunatics in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns! This week I am joined by Jesse Matthewson of award-winning heavy metal noise-makers Ken Mode. We talk about music awards, making a living and having a career in music on your own terms.
This episode I have a conversation with Juno nominated artist Kobra Paige about her band Kobra and the Lotus, celebrating ten years as a band, the evolution of her voice, and lots of nods to the classics, her peers and a look at the future.
I am breaking down my favorite albums and songs of 2018. Who will be #1? Tune in and find out!
We got stoked for the announcement of a new Ashes Of Ares album for a variety of reasons. First off, its the long awaited follow up to their five year old debut. The effort's monicker took us back to the first Indiana Jones flick (!). But most importantly, it afforded us the chance to have a long time coming sit down with mainman Matt Barlow. Metallers will be familiar with Mr. Barlow for his amazing discography with Iced Earth. Now he's remaking Metal history with his sorta new "offering" (ha,ha), Ashes Of Ares. We discussed the new record "Well Of Souls". As well as his tribute to the late, great Chris Cornell and his career as a police officer(!). In our 'News, Views, and Tunes", we share some war stories on the live front, go further in the the Oli Herbert saga, and give our 2 cents on the "Decibel Top 40 Albums of 2018". Musically, we crank the new Ashes... record plus the latest efforts from Tomb Mold, Ken Mode, Evoken, Fleshreaper, and Wristmeetrazor!! Horns!! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. Chapter 88: "The STING of freelance art" ...as read by Jaci KVLT Jaci Raia and our buddy Seth Werkheiser joins the first chapter of 2017 for Jacis' story and some of the obligatory 2016 list stuff...but with a slight twist. Jaci is an art director, designer, author, MetalBandCampGiftClub logo creator, all around ass-kicker and she was awesome enough to come on and admit to a few hair bands and tell us a bit about what she does. Then the three of us give our top three releases on 2016 that we think might not be on a lot of lists. Kinda going' off-road with the list. Enjoy. Happy New Year, you lovely scattered few. Jesse Matthewson, along with his brother Shane, are founding members for the metallic noise rock outfit KEN Mode. We had a chance to catch up and chat about coming off a long hard stretch of touring and kicking of their new business MKM Management, an accounting company geared to creative people and artists. Oh boy. Stephen is pissed. We decided to hop on and just hang out. Turns out, I caught Stephen in a sour mood about the Tourniquet "Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance" vinyl release. This is one of the funniest rants we've ever done. Grab a drink (we did) and listen to us discuss what we got for Christmas, Lemmy, our heroes dying and we cover every single album released in 2015...pretty much. This is a straight up "ring in the new year" partycast with 42 music clips. ONWARD TO 2016! It's the day after all the shows have been completed. We are in a weary Winnipeg. Jesse picks me up from my parents house and we gather the rest of the van to drop Skot and Max off at the airport. Does it wrap everything up? Maybe... or maybe it just asks "what's next?" Grab your quizzical pants put them on and ready your ears for the LAST The Something Something Van Pod Cast with KEN mode(Jesse Matthewson/Shane Matthewson/Skot Hamilton), Maxime Critique and Garrett Jamieson of THE HUGE SUCCESS TOUR 2015
We are kicking off the tour of North America! Driving from Saskatoon to Edmonton. Since it is early in the tour we are a little rusty on the flow, but trust me it heats up and is great by the end. We discuss: Who we are, hitch hikers, mentally unstable teens and staring at pubes. Grab your self a box of wine, lay back and listen to the babblings of The Something Something Something Van Pod Cast with KEN mode (Jesse Matthewson/Shane Matthewson/Skot Hamilton), Maxime Critique and Garrett Jamieson.

Fly fishing, mountain life, and making punk history...just a few highlights found on this first of 2 chapters of chapter twelve. The Godfather (yup, we said it) of Christian hardcore, Allan Aguirre (aka Ramald Domkus) shares some exclusive history on the origins of Scaterd Few, Cygnet, which later became Spy Glass Blue, and the highs and lows of starting a grassroots street ministry in the meanest streets of Los Angeles, CA in the 1980s amongst gang violence. His legacy with Scaterd Few literally inspired countless bands who would be a massive influence, along with Allan, in the 1990s. Featured here on this first half, we hear about Allan's first pre- Scaterd Few punk band in 1981 that ministered to many in Guatamala. We also get to hear about played in a band with Don Bolles from The Germs and 45 Grave before Scaterd Few, and meeting the legendary Terry Taylor in the early 80s, Allan's relationship with HR and Bad Brains, and what would become the Scaterd Few we know and love in the late 80s and early 90s. This episode is an almost overwhelming wealth of story telling for the hard core Scaterd Few fans out there both young and old. KEN mode brothers Jesse and Shane Matthewson sit in on this episode. We talk about their recent Converse video; the realization that they're both accountants as are their parents, what it's like to put everything on tour in terms of dollars of merch sold, and whether or not their extremely high frequency of touring is worth while or not. Chuck and Godless also revisit the topic of the mosh pit and audience safety in light of the $1.4 Million judgement against Fishbone, the fan arrested at a Bring Me the Horizon show and the security collapse during the Thy Art is Murder set at Soundwave festival. Who is to blame? Songs:KEN mode - "Your Heart Warming Story Makes Me Sick"Hark - "Black Hole South West"
Our guest Kirk Windstein of the mighty Crowbar discusses his 25 years with the band, how he needed to change his focus away from Down towards his family and Crowbar, and the influence Exhorder had on Crowbar's sound in the early days. Chuck and Godless also talk about their favorite albums of 2013 -- as much as they could in this "extended" episode -- and they discuss KEN Mode's threat to fans who text at their shows and how that relates to a terrible Fear Factory performance Chuck saw last week. This is the final episode of the year, so thank you for listening. We have a lot of good stuff lined up for 2014!
Darkthrone, Anvil, Voivod, Blasphemy, Infernal Majesty, Devin Townsend, KEN Mode, Gorguts, Chapel, Baptists, Depressing, Anciients, Weirding, Black Wizard, Bloated Pig, Woods of Ypres, Fuck the Facts, 3 Inches of Blood, Weapon, Tobeatic, Erosion, Bison BC

As we inch ever-closer to 20 episodes, Winnipeg filmmaker Ryan Simmons stopped by the basement to discuss the "Cannibal" theme. This is another three-hosts-n'-a-guest format, and I'm really liking the way these ones are sounding. Ryan has been working on a new video for Witchpolice Radio co-host Rob Crooks, but he's also done videos for local bands like KEN Mode and This Hisses that we all know and love
