This week on Table Talk we observe a time of remembrance for our Pastor Dr. Hays McKay with an Encore of his Final sermon. Dr. Hays McKay, Jr. was appointed to Covenant in 1998, however, the church had unprecedented growth, almost like a wildfire. Under Hays' leadership, a contemporary service was launched (1999), a Christian Life Center was built (2004), and the church started worshipping in a new Sanctuary in 2009. Dr. Hays McKay, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family following a brave battle with cancer. He was 65 years old.
This was Dr. Falwell's final sermon on Mother's Day May 13, 2007, just 2 days before he went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 15, 2007.

Jesus' strongest condemnation was reserved for religious leaders and teachers. This is a reminder that if those who teach others are leading them away from Jesus Christ rather than to Him, they are actively engaging in evil. They should be exposed and sternly rebuked. Rev. Josh's final sermon as rector of Reconciliation.
Abandon your plans of escape and be where you are.Plant gardens. Live and live well. I don't know what your planting gardens may look like, but let me end by providing a glimpse of what they might be like.Live. And live well. Breathe. Breathe in and breathe deeply.Be present. Do not be past. Do not be future.Be now.On a crystal clear, breezy 75-degree day, roll down the windows and feel the wind against your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun. If you run, then allow those first few breaths on a cool autumn day to freeze your lungs, and do not just be alarmed, be alive. Get knee-deep in a novel and lose track of time. If you bike, pedal hard...And if you crash, then crash well.Feel the satisfaction of a job well done.A paper well written, a project thoroughly completed, a play well performed. If you must wipe the snot from your 3-year-old's nose, don't be disgusted if the Kleenex didn't catch it all because soon he'll be wiping his own.If you've recently experienced loss, then grieve. And grieve well.At the table with friends and family, laugh. If you're eating and laughing at the same time, then you might as well laugh until you puke. And if you eat, then smell. The aromas are not impediments to your day. Steak on the grill, coffee beans freshly ground, cookies in the oven. And taste. Taste every ounce of flavor. Taste every ounce of friendship. Taste every ounce of life.Because-it-is-most-definitely-a-gift.- Kyle Lake, Final Sermon, 2005

In this episode we take a little bit of a different route and dissect a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We speak about The Final Sermon he gave and his message to mankind. There are many lessons to go over in this and things from his sermon that we apply today. It was an interesting discussion because we never just sat down to discuss a hadith and especially not one of such importance. Final Sermon in the Ephesians series "The Mystery Revealed"
Even in his final moments, Stephen chose to preach the Gospel. As the crowd became so angry that they stoned Stephen, he did not allow that to change his countenance towards them or the mission he was on.*We had an audio issue for the first 5 minutes of this message. Our apologies. If you listen past that mark, it gets better. :)
