V nadsázce lze totéž říct i o filozofii. Jsme bojové plemeno, protože jsme se naučili myslet skrze kategorie my a oni. I to má své kulturní dějiny. KapitolyI. Hádka, z níž vyrůstá západní písemnictví [začátek až 16:20]II. Pryč od totality! [16:20 až 42:00]III. Richard Overy: Války jsou dobré „k myšlení“. Ben, Woods, and Paul are here for you on a Friday-Friday! We start the show with a little foreplay and we purchased some clip on earrings for Ben after asking him earlier in the week if he'd ever get a piercing. Well, Woods decided to give himself a nose ring and it got stuck and we needed an engineer to come in and PRY it off! Then at the bottom of the hour the guys discuss an idea pitched by ESPN's Jeff Passan who thinks the Padres could be interested in bringing in Walker Buehler. Could you root for a former dodger like Buehler? Woods is NOT in favor of it. Listen here!

In this episode, Pete and Sam share their thoughts on the collapse vs. Syracuse. While there was plenty to like on offense, despite not having Drones or Tuten, the defense let us down. Nevertheless, Pry and the guys have a huge opportunity vs. Clemson at home. Get a W, and a lot can be forgiven.
V regionu chybí stavaři a technici, kteří by poradili s rekonstrukcí zničené infrastruktury. In this episode of "Ruby for All," hosts Andrew and Julie take us through a journey of debugging, from dealing with weather-induced moods to squashing tricky bugs in their code. They touch on the challenges of debugging without audio guidance, leveraging logs for troubleshooting, and the logical approach to handling errors in Ruby or JavaScript. They dive into the variations of different debugging tools, such as Pry and the Rails Logger, and the complexities of transitioning to new debugging gems. Andrew recounts a perplexing bug only replicable in production and details his process and concluding the issue. As they navigate the intricacies of problem-solving, they contemplate the worth of fixing minor bugs versus prioritizing major ones, drawing on real-life examples from their experiences. Andrew wraps up with a reminder of the importance of teamwork in debugging, while they both acknowledge the reality that sometimes, a bug might just remain unfixed. Join them as they share insights and laughter, reminding us of the human element in the world of code. [00:00:54] Andrew describes the bug issue he had and the difficulties of debugging it without audio in the screen recording, and Julie shares her own debugging challenges on her new team. [00:02:00] Let's talk about debugging, as Andrew explains different types of bugs and shares his process for understanding and reproducing bugs. Julie emphasizes the importance of understanding the product and the expected behavior to replicate and debug issues. [00:03:31] Andrew describes his approach to getting unstuck during debugging, which includes revisiting the problem statement and using logs to trace the issue. [00:05:14] Andrew asks Julie if she can replicate her bug in production and suggests using logs for troubleshooting. Julie talks about her approach to errors, which differs as she doesn't typically see the red Rails error page in her work. They discuss how to deal with JavaScript errors and the importance of reading error messages. [00:08:57] Julie inquires why some developers may overlook details in error messages, and Andrew suggest that assumptions and a form of panic might play roles and discusses when he's more likely to Google error messages, especially regarding dependencies. [00:13:22] Andrew explains why he prefers using the ‘Rails Logger' over ‘puts' for debugging. He also mentions using Overmind and tmux for viewing Rails logs.[00:14:39] Julie draws a parallel between ‘puts' debugging and JavaScript's console.log debugging. Andrew confirms they are similar, and he shares his transition from using Pry to the official debug gem and the difficulty of changing old habits. [00:16:30] Andrew clarifies that binding.irb now uses the debug gem by default in Ruby 3, he discusses the usefulness of Pry's context-switching feature, and he outlines additional steps for effective debugging. [00:19:52] There's a conversation on using git for tracking code changes and git-bisect for isolating commits that caused issues, and questioning assumptions, reading documentation, and getting a second opinion or sleeping on the problem. [00:23:17] Andrew discusses the mindset required for effective debugging: patience, persistence, and the willingness to step away and return to a problem. Julie describes a very specific bug affecting a small number of users questioning with her manager whether it's worth the effort to fix it. [00:25:43] Back to Andrew's story about a bug that he couldn't replicate in development, but could in production, and he details his process and realization that it was a display issue in the front-end. [00:31:09] Julie relates to Andrew's difficulty in replication bugs in development and suspects filtering differences in production. Andrew suggests troubleshooting methods for errors related to data discrepancies. [00:33:11] Andrew shares a tip about using data to back up arguments when trying to convince others during decision-making, and Julie recounts realizing the low impact of the bug she's working on and it it's worth the effort. Tuesday - January 2, 2024In the first half, holistic plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn discussed the uses and risks of plastic surgery, and how to look ten years younger naturally using the concepts of what he calls "autojuvenation." Rather than conducting more and more surgeries, over time, he developed a goal of keeping people out of the operating room and using various techniques such as nutrition and skincare to help them look and feel their best. 80% of aging is influenced by our lifestyle choices, he cited. Regarding people who seem to have too much plastic surgery, they may have the condition of dysmorphia, where what they see in the mirror is different than how others see them, and they exaggerate in their minds perceived flaws in their body or face. Youn also pointed out that doctors in the US can perform procedures without formal training or licensing so patients need to be cautious in finding a practitioner. His idea of autojuvenation revolves around five basic things-- what you eat, when you eat, nutritional supplements, skincare treatments, and non-invasive treatments. As far as diet, he recommended a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. One of the main reasons our skin ages prematurely is through the process of oxidation, and colorful foods are high in antioxidants and phytonutrients, which stave that off. He also suggested anti-inflammatory foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like fish, nuts, and olive oil, as well as intermittent fasting. For skincare, products containing Retinol (a derivative of vitamin A) can effectively reduce fine lines and improve skin quality, he said.------------------In the latter half, psychic Amy O'Pry spoke about her work as a medium, communicating with God, and exploring the realms of higher consciousness. She detailed the importance of connecting with the divine for healing and guidance, and her training at the Monroe Institute in different focus levels. "Don't ask for the spirit realm to help you if you're not willing to accept the assistance," she remarked, adding that this realm is really waiting for us to grow, develop, and listen. Regarding the contact she receives from spirits, O'Pry stressed that it's essential to set boundaries, and practice white light protection. "You don't want to be taken over, and you have to be able to be in control," she added. She recounted curious instances where spirits intuited to her to make contact with their living loved ones, such as the time she was on the way to the grocery store but made a stop at a shoe department on the way because she felt that the spirit of the clerk's mother was with her and wanted to relay a message to her daughter. During the last hour, she gave readings for callers. As to how she makes contact with their departed loved ones, O'Pry explained if the callers are wanting to know about a spirit, they are generally already with them. "I'll just listen in what I call a 'leaning-in', which basically means that I have opened my brain into a higher consciousness...where I'm going to let things fall in it. And then I'm not going to judge what comes because the message is not for me." --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/georgenoory/message

Nestling yourself into your favorite sleeping position, Where you can melt into comfort. Invite yourself to take a deep breath in, Filling up your body with fresh, cleansing air. And breathe out, releasing anything stale or unneeded. One more deep breath in, Feeling the cool air clean everything inside, And breathe out, letting it all go. Now breathe, In sync with your body's regular rhythm, In and out, Calm and clear, Present and relaxed. Breathe… Releasing any tension you may be feeling in your body with every breath out. PAUSE… There are answers here that you've been seeking. Tiny openings that can lead to fresh, new adventures. Whispers that can shine light on the darkness of confusion. All you have to do is get out of your head, And listen… PAUSE… A gentle hand touches yours, Inviting you to hold it, Inviting you to trust her. Let me guide you, she whispers. Feel your fingers entwine with hers, And the comforting warmth travel from your hand, Up your arm, And into your heart. PAUSE… Feel it all unravel. The control, The how's, The logic. They cannot lead you to where you want to go. They cannot dance with you in the magic of the night. Only you can do that, When you're here, One with your deep self, Surrendered to her loving guidance, And trusting her to lead you to the next best thing, Trusting her to help you see the blessings, The opportunities, And the serendipitous timing of it all. So breathe, And listen. LONG PAUSE… The answers may not speak to you in a language your conscious mind understands. Perhaps she paints, Perhaps she sings, Or maybe she communicates with her touch. So let go, And be here, Surrendering yourself to the mysteries of the night, That holds it all. PAUSE… Bring it all here, Your desires, Your fears, Your dreams. Release any last remnants of tension from your body, And open yourself to the guidance waiting here for you. Sweet Dreams, Beautiful.
Come to cleveland really soon. I accidentally called this 130 on mixlr but thats ok. it was a dumb show anyway. skip this one. Everything went wrong. I wasn't paid. No one would hold my ladder, i couldn't leave my phone or wallet, they didn't want my biting dog, i didn't show or even bother to call. There's a noxious odor following me, and I can't find a outdoor popcorn outlet. Pry bar managers son compromise rehearsal wall thickness. I don't know. But I love you.
Ty and Dan talk with Andy Bitter of TechSideline.com about Brent Pry's first season as head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies. Diesel, gasoline, and other fuel prices are through the roof. Jason Isaac of the Texas Public Policy Foundation's Life:Powered Program explains how the dollars raised for North American oil and gas funds have plummeted 94% in seven years! Why? Because of the ESG movement that aims to defund American fossil fuels, leaving OPEC, Russia, and others to pick up our market share, forcing dependence once again on hostile countries - - - - - Jacki gives a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Peter Pry, the man who has probably done more to secure the U.S. electric grid from both natural and manmade disasters than any other American. After leaving the CIA, he led the Congressional EMP Commission and finally succeeded in getting the necessary federal law in place to protect the grid from attack; yet if he were alive, he would exhort us to not get comfortable – there is much work left to do. The country lost a great patriot with his recent passing. Jacki plays the last interview she did with Dr. Pry, not knowing that it would be the last. RIP.
Recharged after a bye week, the Hokies visit the Wolfpack on Thursday night. The guys discuss Pry's comments on the offense before diving deep into NC State. Doeren and Co. have themselves a stout defense this year - points won't be easy to come by. While unexpected, a win would change the way we perceive this Tech team drastically. Let's hope the boys can pull it off! Once again, every episode is brought to you by Downtown Crown Wine and Beer and Dominion Wine and Beer, the official sponsor of Two Deep's 2022 football coverage.
Things discussed: JJ McCarthy's legs and the whole suite of offense. Penn State couldn't do anything right vs the run. Gambled wrong, went upfield when Michigan was prepared for that. Michigan was SO PREPARED. Defensively they knew exactly what they were doing, had seen everything PSU does and was prepared for it. Diaz does that, trading chunks for TFLs, but they got so consistently gashed for it in return for a few 2nd and 10s. Breaking down the one long run: that LT made the play by realizing something was up in time. Not mad at Barrett. The 4th and 6: Right play from a design standpoint, wrong play in that Mike Sainristil is too good to put your game on. Better at coverage than Dax? Grading that way. Tunnel kerfuffle: Franklin has to say something. If he doesn't want those players he's got from Detroit, send 'em back. He's been good because he gets good assistants but those guys (Pry, Moorhead, Gattis, Banks) are all gone now and they're left with his contract. MSU: Got Slade back which changes how they can play run defense but that secondary hasn't gotten better. Graham Mertz was terrible.
Cornerbacks coach Derek Jones sits down with Zach Mackey this week. The duo talk about his deep friendship with coach Pry and what that phone call was like to come to Virginia Tech. It's finally here. The Virginia Tech Football season is set to kick-off later this week, along with getting the Brent Pry era underway. Justin and Tim take a look at the roster from top to bottom, beginning with the defense. Brent Pry, from 2016-2021 is one of the more decorated assistant coaches in college football. Pry will look to get Virginia Tech back to its roots, bringing an aggressive style of defense back to Blacksburg. We go position by position to take a look at where guys stack up on the depth chart, and some of the key areas to watch this season. Offensively, there are more question marks. The Hokies return four starters from last season, which includes a new QB and three new starters on the offensive line. Depth is an issue they discuss as it relates to the offense, and they take a look at the receiving corps that has little production returning from last season, after the departures of Tre Turner and Tayvion Robinson. Grant Wells is also a big topic of conversation, as well as Tyler Bowen's offensive philosophy. Justin and Tim also take a look at the schedule and discuss where they feel the Hokies will end up once the season ends. A great way to kick-off the season. Be sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share with your friends.
Virginia Tech enters Year One of the Brent Pry era in Blacksburg. After a tumultuous last few years, the Hokies football program is looking to capitalize on momentum found with a new coaching regime. There's plenty of starting talent on both sides of the football, but depth in certain position groups could make or break the first season for Pry in Blacksburg. Is a bowl game in the cards? Can the Hokies compete for a Coastal Division crown? Or can this team realistically bottom out and miss a bowl game? Justin and Tim return from a long off-season and discuss some of the happenings around the college football off-season, including conference re-alignment and where the Hokies and the ACC fit-in. They also discuss name, image and likeness (NIL), how the Hokies are fairing recruiting wise under Brent Pry, and the persona and swagger Pry has brought with him to the Virginia Tech campus.

PETER PRY, Executive Director, Task Force on National and Homeland Security, Director, U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum, Former Member, Congressional EMP Commission, the Congressional Strategic Posture Commission, the House Armed Services Committee, and the CIA Dr. Peter Vincent Pry talks about the likelihood of nuclear war between the United States, its allies and Vladimir Putin's Russia: “On February 27…Vladimir Putin, the dictator of Russia, announced that he was putting his nuclear forces on a ‘special combat alert' and then went down into one of the deep underground shelters...” Pry talks about the vulnerabilities facing America's dwindling missile defense system and nuclear triad: “Our own triad is so obsolete. The delivery systems and the warheads themselves are more than 30 years old…many of our scientists who designed those nuclear weapons are concerned about whether they would actually work after 30 years without testing…” BEN WEINGARTEN, Senior Contributor, The Federalist, Author, "American Ingrate" @bhweingarten Ben Weingarten talks about the prospects of a renewed nuclear deal between the United States and Iran: “I think simply put Iran deal 2.0 will be Iran deal 1.0 on steroids.
