At our Interactive Midweek Service, Pastor Femi Paul brought us a corrective and stirring word titled Praise the Lord O' My Soul! Building on Sunday's message Count Your Blessings, he opened with Psalm 103:2 and expanding through Isaiah 55:2, we were reminded that counting our blessings is not merely a gratitude exercise, it is spiritual wisdom. From Numbers 11:1a, Pastor emphasised that complaining isn't just a bad habit; it displeases the Lord and stalls our progress. We learned that counting our blessings is actually a spiritual guard that protects our Counting our blessings guards the heart against grumbling and complaining, and keeps us qualified for what God is about to do next. We also saw how complaint can distort perspective, while thanksgiving preserves spiritual posture and keeps our heart open to God's next move. The core of the message was a deep dive into Philippians 4:8, where we were challenged to discipline our thoughts toward what is good, worthy of praise, and full of God's goodness. We were challenged to fill our minds with things to praise rather than things to curse, and to fasten our thoughts on the glorious works of God. As the congregation lifted the song Praise, the atmosphere reinforced the message that praise is not only a response to blessing but a posture that sustains joy, protects perspective, and aligns us with divine harmony. The charge was simple and profound: keep counting your blessings, keep praising God, and stay qualified for what He is about to do next. Confession: Lord, I choose praise over complaint and gratitude over grumbling. Guard my heart, align my thoughts, and keep me positioned for all You are about to do next.
Pastor Femi Paul brought us a timely word during today's Youth Sunday Service titled Count Your Blessings! Drawing from Psalm 103:2 (MSG), we were given a powerful directive: to bless God and ensure we do not forget a single one of His benefits. We learned that the only way to avoid the trap of forgetfulness is to intentionally and carefully count the good things He has done for us. Rather than magnifying problems, needs, or what is missing, the message called us to remember the good things God has done. Using Psalm 103:2–5 (NLT), we were reminded of the breadth of God's favour, from forgiveness and healing to redemption and the renewal of our strength, affirming that youths in God are called to stand out. Gratitude is not passive remembrance but active recognition. The message challenged us to shift our focus from problems and needs to the faithfulness of God. When we count our problems, anxiety grows, but when we count our blessings, faith rises. Drawing from Philippians 4:6–7, we were reminded that thanksgiving brings peace, and thanksgiving also positions us for increase. Pastor prophetically declared that as we count only our blessings for the rest of April, God will multiply those blessings in May. The charge was simple and powerful: remember what God has done, and expect Him to do more and more. Confession: I choose to bless the Lord with all that I am. I refuse to forget His benefits. I will count my blessings daily, focusing on His goodness, mercy, and healing power. As I celebrate what He has already done, I position myself for multiplication and fresh manifestations in May.

This week on The Loaded Radio Podcast, we sit down with The Amity Affliction frontman Joel Birch for a raw, unfiltered conversation. With the band's ninth studio album, 'House of Cards', set for release on April 24, Joel opens up about the survival of the band following the high-profile departure of longtime member Ahren Stringer. We discuss the addition of Jonny Reeves to the studio lineup, the "volatile" year that led to the split, and why Joel believes this is the most honest material of his career. In the second half of the show, host Scott Penfold breaks down the most chaotic news week of the year:
This week the gang kicks things off discussing bringing a friend with you on a first date (0:23). Rapper Offset of the Migos shot while at a Florida Casino (27:56). Da Baby facing backlash for insulting a fan who painting him a portrait (37:41) US military considering reinstating the draft (44:41). Hollywood Nicky's family on a game show (53:07). Jayden Cintron finds over 9K in cash in a Chick Fil A bathroom (1:08:00) and much more so tune in.......
This week is a Simone Zone episode and I talk about taking the time to count and explain my blessings and I encourage you to do the same.
In this message, Count Your Blessings, Pastor Jeff Davis teaches from Deuteronomy 28-30 and reminds us that God's blessings are connected to a life of obedience. This sermon highlights three key truths: living a life set apart in holiness, trusting God to work in every area of our lives as He blesses us holistically, and choosing to honor Him above all else. As we shift our focus from life's problems to God's promises, we begin to see His blessings more clearly. Listen to this sermon to be encouraged to choose obedience, trust God completely, and truly count your blessings.
Kicking off a new sermon series called “Complete in Christ”, here is the first sermon by Pastor Stacy Stafford entitled Count Your Blessings from Ephesians 1:1-14.
In this message from Ephesians 1:4-6, Pastor Stacy Stafford picked up our series through the book of Ephesians called “Complete in Christ” and preached a sermon entitled Count Your Blessings. Christian, you are chosen, adopted into the family of God and accepted by the God of the Universe. What Blessings He has bestowed upon us!
In this episode, Jimmy IV shares a grounded and honest reflection on what it really means to “count your blessings.” From his personal point of view, it's not about pretending life is perfect, comparing struggles, or forcing positivity. It's about slowing down long enough to recognize what you've already survived and honoring the strength it took to get here.Jimmy talks about stepping away from “business as usual,” not in a dramatic way, but in how we move internally. He explores how awareness, gratitude, and clarity can shift your mindset, your energy, and the way you step into what's next. This episode is a reminder that survival itself is powerful and that sometimes the greatest blessing is simply still being here with the ability to choose, grow, and move forward intentionally.A calm, relatable conversation for anyone who needs a moment of grounding, perspective, and quiet motivation to honor their own journey. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Friday morning, the 19th of December, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Psalms 105:2: ”Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;Talk of all His wondrous works!” Then we go straight to 1 Thessalonians 5:18: ”In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God…” I read a beautiful little reading this morning by the famous hymn writer, Francis Ridley Havergal, and this is what she says. She says, ”We talk about the telescope of faith but I think we want even more the microscope of watchful and grateful love.” She says, ”Apply this to the little bits of our daily lives, in the light of the Spirit and how wonderfully they will come out.” Yes, we want to look through the telescope of faith and see all the big things in life, but she says maybe we need to get that microscope out and thank God for all the little things He has done for us.You say, ”What little things?” Well, maybe you passed your exams. “Yes, but I didn't get a hundred percent, Angus!” No, but you passed your exams and surely that's worth praising God for, and that farmer, ”No, I didn't really get a bumper crop this year.” But maybe you are able to pay your costs and that's worth thanking God for. Counting your blessings and naming them one by one, and then all of a sudden, things won't look so hopeless, will they?Do you remember that little song, it's a hymn, that goes something like this;Count your blessings, name them one by oneCount your blessings, see what God has doneCount your blessings, name them one by oneCount your many blessings, see what God has doneIsn't that wonderful? Today, count those blessings! Thank the Lord that you woke up this morning and you can see a brand new day, and who knows? This may be the day that the Lord will come and take us home to be with Him in paradise forever, but until then, count your blessings!Jesus bless you and goodbye.
I've been holding this one close. There's something I lean on every single day — in the good, the hard, the messy, the incredible. It's the thing that steadies me, fuels me, and reminds me who I am! But I will say this: everything that's ever happened in my life — every win, every lesson, every detour — helped shape me. I give thanks for all of it. It's part of my journey, part of my becoming. One of my favorite habits? Starting and ending every day with the song Count Your Blessings.. It shifts me. It puts me exactly where I need to be. And before I talk to anyone, I bless them, I pray over them, I send them love — because that's how I move through this world.Because the world needs you. I'm grateful for everything — and I want you to be too!
Share your testimonies and see all that God has and is doing in your life.

When I was a little girl, I loved the old hymn “Count Your Blessings.” The song encourages those who are “tempest-tossed” and “thinking all is lost” to “count your blessings, name them one by one.” Years later when my husband, Alan, was discouraged, he would often ask me to sing that simple song to him. Then I would help him to enumerate his blessings. Doing so took Alan’s focus off his struggles and self-doubt and centered his thoughts on God and his reasons for thankfulness. The book of Ezra describes God’s people facing overwhelming challenges through focusing on God’s power and provision. After they’d endured decades of captivity in Babylon, King Cyrus allowed the Jewish exiles to return to Israel to rebuild the temple (Ezra 1-2). Only a fraction returned (2:64). Despite their “fear of the peoples around them” and the great task before them, they rebuilt the altar and laid the temple’s foundation (3:3, 10). Then “with praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: ‘He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.’ And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord” (3:11). If you’re discouraged or facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles, turn your thoughts toward God. “Count your blessings . . . and it will surprise you what the Lord has done,” and continues to do, for those who love Him.

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #636 is a unique and compelling hour of visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, dulcimer, mandolin, harmonica, kalimba, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. We are joined today by special guests David Morningstar on background vocals and acoustic guitar and on the last track Eve Cristoph on backing vocals. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in early September of 2025, today's show begins with the pretty, ancient-sounding “Dive Deep To Reach Your Soul's True Longing”, a skipping forest song with dancing dulcimer and mystical Native flute passages from Mariam and “Count Your Blessings, Keep Shining Bright” is a driving, blustery rock song with imaginative piano and an inspiring lyric from Mariam over Craig's driving congas. The Track enters an extended coda with Mariam playing her mysterious double flute, a unique instrument that creates audible overtones in a miasma of harmony. “All Life Is Sacred” is another acoustic rock number with a distant Andean flare and an affecting vocal from Mariam and “Living On The Holy Ground” is a bright, skipping, sunny folk song driven by Maram's chiming mandolin and evocative, distant droning vocals from Daniel over gospel piano and steady congas from Craig. “Breath Together” has a suspended blues flavor and begins with a conversation between Mariam's harmonica and her inspired poetry as it blooms into a powerful, spacious gospel song before segueing into a second movement, “Open The Windows To Receive”, a sparse but sophisticated tone poem set to the heartbeat thump of Craig's Native drum and bittersweet, iconic piano. For the final section “Keep On Dreaming We Can Change The World” with Daniel joining Mariam for the anthemic chorus. Eve Cristoph joins Mariam on vocals for today's beautiful closer, the ocean anthem “Yemanja” a mystical mermaid goddess song featuring exemplary work from the whole ensemble. We're celebrating our 10th anniversary all year by digging in the vaults to re-present classic episodes with fresh commentary. Today, we're revisiting our 2019 conversation with Valerie Simpson of Ashford & Simpson. ABOUT VALERIE SIMPSONSix-time Grammy nominee Valerie Simpson is best known as one half of the songwriting, production and performing duo of Ashford and Simpson, which she formed with musical partner and eventual husband Nick Ashford after they met at a church in Harlem, New York, in the early 1960s. After early successes with Aretha Franklin's recording of “Cry Like a Baby” and Ray Charles' recordings of “Let's Go Get Stoned” and “I Don't Need No Doctor,” Nick and Valerie signed with Motown Records, first as songwriters, where their early successes included the hit singles “Ain't No Mountain High Enough” and “Your Precious Love,” recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. They soon began both writing and producing for the duo, with hits such as “Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing,” “You're All I Need to Get By,” “Good Lovin' Ain't Easy to Come By,” and “What You Gave Me.” Additional writing and production credits at Motown came with hits by The Supremes, The Marvelettes, The Miracles, Gladys Knight, and Diana Ross, who found success with “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)” “Remember Me,” “Surrender,” and a remake of “Ain't No Mountain High Enough” that topped both the pop and R&B charts. In addition to writing #1 hits such as Quincy Jones's “Stuff Like That” and Chaka Khan's “I'm Every Woman” after their Motown period, Ashford and Simpson began releasing their own recordings as a duo, landing nearly 40 songs on the Billboard R&B singles chart. Their list of Top 10 hits as artists, includes “It Seems to Hang On,” “Found a Cure,” “Love Don't Make it Right,” “Street Corner,” “Outta the World,” “Count Your Blessings,” “I'll Be There For You,” and “Solid.” Ashford and Simpson were the recipients of the ASCAP Founder's Award, which is the highest honor bestowed by the organization. They were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, named among Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time, and provided the inspiration for the establishment of the Soul Train Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award. Following Nick's untimely death in 2011, Valerie has continued to write, record, and even appear on Broadway in the acclaimed musical Chicago.
