Bill King's campaign centers on two themes: to clean up City Hall and get back to basics. We must end the widespread and rampant corruption within our city government. This is why I am supporting a citizen initiative that would ban political donations from people or companies that do business with the city. Government needs to work for the people, not political insiders.

My co-host The Vintage Contessa & Times Past was greatly missed during today’s incredible sit down with Dave Ward's Houston and Jim Mcgrath on Styling Social Justice! In discussing the launch of Dave Ward’s new memoir “Good Evening, Friends: A Broadcaster Shares His Story” co-written by Jim McGrath, we covered so much of Dave’s journey to now. Whether talking about his time in radio to walking into ABC13 Houston KTRK fifty plus years ago, from interviewing President Barak Obama to life “behind the scenes” with #MarvinZindler - there were so many insights into the life and legacy of Houston’s Media icon. And of course from his Mrs. Laura Ward who was the glue and catalyst behind this book production to the many who have read it and commented like Neal Hammil, Shelby Hodge with PaperCity Magazine, Ken Hoffman with CultureMap and more - everyone agrees this is a must read! Thank you Jim for all your work and expertise on this important project. And thank you both for your time on #stylingsocialjustice this morning! To listen, find the live video on our Facebook page or go to stylingsocialjustice.com!
You know her as the ultimate lifestyle writer but Ruchi Mukerjee is that and so much more. On @stylingsocialjustice she walked us down the path she took covering grave injustices in India - from issues around dowries found in Indian society to the grave realities of women forced into the red light district of Kolkata. She talked openly about her journey to Houston and how she went from a single mom of one with no network to a thriving business owner and society staple. Thank you for your time and passion Ruchi!
“It was such a joy to sit down with Houston’s literary treasure, Melissa Williams on @StylingSocialJustice! Melissa shared her life-long love for reading, where her true inspiration came from to (you’ll never imagine) and why she is so passionate about literacy now, especially when it comes to children. Houston is certainly lucky to call her ours! Tune in now for this week’s episode of #StylingSocialJustice!”

Substance and Style. Those were the two words that immediately came to mind when we invited @FadyArmanious to be a guest on @StylingSocialJustice. “In one of the most riveting interviews we’ve had, the women of @StylingSocialJustice sat down with @GreatDayHouston’s @DeborahDuncan to talk about work, life, confidence, social justice, the political climate and how we as a community can, do, and must come together. In sharing her story, we learned about the loss of Deborah’s brother to a drunk driver and her passion in working with @MADD and Palmer Drug Abuse Clinic @pdap_official. While we all tune into @KHOU to watch her each morning at 9 am, many may not have heard her sing, (she broke into a song for us!) or heard her share stories about her son and life raising boys these days. To say @thevintagecontessa and @theraniareport were riveted by her is an understatement. Tune in here or on stylingsocialjustice.com to hear more”

It was the scandal that shocked families of faith across this country. On this Episode of StylingSocialJustice, Michael Rezendes of the Spotlight team at the BostonGlobe walks us through how they began the investigation that unraveled the massive cover-up involving the sexual abuse of children taking place within the Catholic Church. As women of faith and family, we were both saddened, riveted and determined to keep this important conversation going. Michael shared not just details of the investigation but a bit of the psychology behind the abuse and how cultures, communities and the church are responding. He was riveting and we were so thankful to have him join us from Boston.
We have always said that the two most important things in life are #Health and #Safety. Brittany Hebert is a woman who agrees. She’s the founder of @SkyHigh for kids, an organization focused on pediatric cancer – helping those researching, those treating, the children fighting and the families coping. Having seen families near and dear to the women of StylingSocialJustice have children both fighting and losing the fight against pediatric cancer, we were honored to have this dynamic woman on the show to talk about what SkyHigh is doing and how we can all help now. This is our first annual holiday drive and it will benefiting health and safety. Give a gift to a child through SkyHigh or the gift of safety through a donation to Crime Stoppers of Houston. It’s the two things we ALL agree on – health and safety – a priority for all. #joinus #jointheconversation
