With over 100 million Indian channels uploading in 2024 and more than 15,000 surpassing 1 million subscribers, Mohan called India a rising “Creator Nation.” The platform clocked 45 billion watch hours from Indian content last year alone. Backing this digital momentum, the Indian government announced a $1 billion creator economy fund and the launch of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) in Mumbai, supported by global tech giants like Nvidia, Google, Apple, and Meta. 2. India-Pakistan Border Tensions Escalate Post Pahalgam Attack Following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, Pakistan has intensified military deployments across the India border. Radar systems and Chinese SH-15 howitzers were positioned in Rajasthan's Longewala sector. The Pakistan Air Force launched large-scale exercises involving F-16s, J-10s, and JF-17s, signaling heightened readiness. India, in turn, suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, calling out Pakistan's alleged cross-border terror links. The geopolitical mood remains tense, with both countries maintaining high alert levels. 3. Pre-IPO Funding Faces Chill as Markets Wobble Volatile public markets have started to dent private funding too—especially pre-IPO deals. Investors, including HNIs and family offices, are pushing for discounted valuations, stricter terms, and longer timelines before committing funds. Big names like Zepto, Groww, and Cred are said to be in talks, but several deals are being renegotiated or delayed. While 2024 saw $355 million raised across 17 pre-IPO deals, caution is now the dominant theme. Weak post-listing performances by firms like Ola Electric and Swiggy, and the broader 7% decline in Nifty since September, have soured sentiment. 4. Markets Cautious, But India Still a Bright Spot A Mint survey of 30 investment professionals reveals that while volatility is expected to remain high—thanks to Trump's tariff war and domestic uncertainty—India may still emerge as a relatively stable investment zone. Over 77% of experts expect continued choppiness over the next quarter, though 63% believe large-cap stocks now offer attractive entry points. Mid- and small-cap stocks remain under watch after sharp corrections. Gold, meanwhile, is shining bright—up 31% in 2025 so far—and expected to outperform equities again if global turbulence persists. IPOs have largely dried up, but 53% of analysts see a cautious revival in high-quality names later this year. 5. Sebi Clears IndusInd Execs of Insider Trading Sebi has closed its investigation into insider trading allegations against IndusInd Bank's former CEO Sumant Kathpalia and deputy CEO Arun Khurana. It found all ESOP-related trades were disclosed and occurred post-vesting. However, a forensic audit revealed Khurana had knowledge of the incorrect forex derivative accounting that caused a ₹1,960 crore hit. While insider trading wasn't established, governance questions linger. The bank is still grappling with reputational fallout amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny.

Dr. Varsha M. Khurana discusses the different approaches to addressing the whole health picture in order to improve fertility levels and reproductive health. Because the causes of infertility—such as hormonal imbalances, ovarian health issues, and past trauma—are so varied, so too is the homeopathic treatment. There is no set protocol. Homeopathy works to create balance and flow in your body to optimize egg quality, hormone levels, and overall vitality. You must be at your healthiest in order to carry a baby full term. Homeopathic remedies are usually based on your health history rather than your current symptoms. This means homeopathy can correct the original trauma—whether physical, emotional, or caused by medications—that disrupted your body's natural balance. Dr. Varsha discusses a case where infertility was caused by the traumatic event of a dog bite, which resulted in low sperm count (azoospermia), and another where tuberculosis medication affected ovarian function, preventing pregnancy. Both cases were successfully treated with homeopathy, restoring reproductive health and leading to conception. Homeopathy often involves looking back in time to help the body overcome these events, and the good news is that it often results in the ability to conceive naturally. Brij Khurana, fixed income portfolio manager at Wellington Management, says that if either political party sweeps the election in November -- winning the presidency and control of Congress and the Senate -- the result will be higher bond yields, because the market will price in greater financing of deficits, but he notes that a divided government, the market will price in a bigger fiscal contraction regardless of who the president is, bringing yields down. Khurana says the Federal Reserve should already have been cutting interest rates but will start next month, although he is expecting a slow, methodical cutting process rather than knee-jerk cuts in response to any data changes. On the stock side of the investment world, Matt Harris, chief investment officer at The Hausberg Group says that the volatility that surfaced early in August hasn't given him any reason to distrust the trend, which remains intact on a long-term basis and which he does not think will be broken despite heightened volatility between now and election day. Aaron Filbeck, managing director of the CAIA Association, discusses interval funds, their fee structure and potential and responds to a recent Wall Street Journal article on how their fees "will leave you high and dry." Plus, in the Market Call, Conrad Doenges, chief investment officer at Ranger Investment Management discusses small- and micro-cap investing.

Harvard is an iconic, 387 year old institution of higher education.  And it's time for a cultural overhaul. The events of the past year – racism, antisemitism, violence on campus, the removal of its president - have thrown their imperfections into stark relief for the world to see. Today's guest - Harvard College Dean Rakesh Khurana – is very open and humble about Harvard's imperfections. But that doesn't mean he's sitting still. Far from it. Recognizing he casts a long shadow and embracing a 'beginner's mindset', Khurana is spearheading the Intellectual Vitality effort which he hopes will revitalize the school's culture. The lofty goal is to create a safe space environment across the entire campus and community – both physically and psychologically – that encourages tough conversations about divisive problems, in which students can learn from each other, regardless of how uncomfortable it is, at first. As Dean Khurana says, “let's be hard on the problem, but easy on each other.” We should all be keeping an eye on Harvard's progress. Lessons gleaned may help other universities - and other divided institutions and partisan leaders across America in the media, politics, education, and business. www.imperfectleaders.com, Jefffrey Cohn

Growth and product are a completely different beast when you sell physical products and not software. Despite those challenges, our next guest Ramneek Khurana has grown Lenskart to help India's vision problem. Ramneek went to Georgia Tech and expected to go to a major consulting firm, but he took some advice that led him into physical products as he started his career at Michelin Tires. Since Michelin was the top tire brand, Ramneek made very marginal improvements and eventually got bored and wanted to solve a bigger problem. That led him to co-found Lenskart, an optical eyewear chain that produces over 300,000 glasses a month. They saw the large gap in the Indian market for a convenient, stylish eyeglass brand that also helped tackle the millions of Indians who weren't able to get glasses. Unlike almost every other eyeglass manufacturer, Lenskart focused on mobile and digital from the very beginning, making it easier for customers and allowed them to scale quickly. Some of their best growth campaigns came out of COVID. They received tons of videos from customers to showcase they could still help people get eyeglasses even during lockdown and turned it into a massively successful TV campaign. Hear stories like this, how they won the award for Best Mobile Innovation at Branch's 2020 Mobile Growth Awards, how Ramneek manages his time as the company grows and changes, and more on this episode of How I Grew This.

Today, Akash shares his insights on digital transformation, the role of data in optimizing customer experiences, and the importance of AI in driving business outcomes.Quick takes from Akash:On AI optimizing product recommendations: "One area that we have seen significant improvements is product recommendation. We have massive data from our end-to-end value chain. [In the past] as we responded to commercial proposals, it was all about how we go to the product set that is available, the product set that a sales rep is familiar with. And that was the past, right? It was very linear in terms of responses. Using AI, we are able to now provide not only one linear option to our sales representatives, but we are able to provide multiple recommendations with different profiles, and different availability metrics, which allow much better capability for our sales organization to deliver to our demands customer commitments.”On AI's increasingly important role at Wesco: “We have something we call the ‘AI Factory.' And every business model, every opportunity that we think of, we take a lens of ‘what can AI do in this area?' You really need to make it part of your operating model so that it becomes the way you operate, the way you think about technology, the way you think about providing services and solutions.”On how Akash defines digital transformation: “The way I define it is in terms of leveraging digital to create new value channels for the organization, whether it's through new products, new services, new solutions, new ways of going to market, new ways of engaging with customers, new ways of doing business with our partner ecosystems, new ways of tapping into innovation capability of the organization.Recent Book Recommendation: Creative Construction by Gary Pisano--Like what you hear? BIO: Souniya Khurana is the Co-Founder and CEO of the podcast company and a new-age media venture WYN (Wine) Studio.STORY: When Souniya was in grade six, she failed math. Everyone kept pushing her to focus on this failure instead of her strengths. This made her create a narrative that she wasn't good enough.LEARNING: Own your narrative. Don't let anybody else decide who you are or your narrative. You can change your narrative. “Please don't invest in things that you're bad at.”Souniya Khurana Guest profileSouniya Khurana is the Co-Founder and CEO of the most creative & sought-after branded podcast company and a new-age media venture WYN (Wine) Studio. While Souniya's career spans more than a decade across developing businesses and strategic roles and a failed startup before navigating her way successfully through her second entrepreneurial stint, WYN Studio, what has conspired to her success is owning her story and seeing through the many failures in her life as important milestones.TGIF, she often says! Often? Why? Because for her, it means, “Thank God I Failed!”Worst investment everSouniya was horrible at mathematics, and her family always told her that this was her weakness and that she should invest in it more to get better at it. Souniya really tried to get better at mathematics, and she did but at the expense of what she was really good at. Nobody ever amplified or helped Souniya look at her strength—English. She loved stories and the world of narratives. But nobody helped her realize that this was where she needed to invest more. She felt like she was not good enough for her entire school life. When Souniya failed math in sixth grade, she contemplated suicide because she felt her life was not worth it. Instead of looking at it as an event in her life, she ended up looking at it as who she was—a failure. She used that as a tag up until her first venture in 2016.No matter what happened before 2016, whether it was getting the best placement in college, good grades in university, or a good job, Souniya always felt that those things were happening by default. She didn't believe she made them happen. She always thought she wasn't good enough because people always pushed her to focus on her weaknesses. It was only after 2016, when Souniya met the right mentors, that she realized that the fact was that she was not good at math, but that didn't mean that she wasn't good enough.Lessons learnedOwn your narrative. People will tell you many things but step out of your situation, take a helicopter view, and create your own story.Take the emotion out of situations that drain you and look at them more rationally and clearly.Invest in your strengths.Always remember that it's you who's in the arena and the only one who knows what's going on. So don't let anybody belittle you or decide who you are or what's your narrative.Andrew's takeawaysStep outside of your situation and imagine that you're up on the ceiling looking down, and then use that as a tool to observe yourself. You can change your narrative.Actionable adviceIf you're on the verge of making important decisions—whether it's choosing the right education, right university, or career—first recognize your strengths. Think about those times when you felt you were in the absolute flow, when you loved doing what you were doing and were so engrossed and involved in that activity. Figure out what that thing...

Balvinder's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/balvinder-khurana/ (https://www.linkedin.com/in/balvinder-khurana/) In this episode, Scott interviewed Balvinder Khurana, Principal Data Architect at Thoughtworks. Some key takeaways/thoughts from Balvinder's point of view: Data mesh is NOT a silver bullet and not everyone is ready to do data mesh - others have stated that but it's crucial to repeat. A data mesh doesn't happen in a vacuum - you need to assess if you are really ready and does it align first to your business strategy and second to your data strategy. If you decide to move forward on a data mesh implementation, really consider how you will measure progress and success against business goals. To evaluate data mesh appropriately, consider what business value having better data practices would bring to your company and is your company aligned into lines of business or would you need to reorganize your business. Are you prepared to extend your line of business practices to data? A common failure pattern in analytics has been not looking at the Intelligence Cycle - changing your operational systems and processes as a result of insights. Don't just generate insights, insights must generate action! Data mesh must avoid this too. Even if existing centralized data team setups have significant bottlenecks, data consumers typically eventually get their needed data. Those data consumers can see something like data mesh as a risk - will they still be able to eventually get the data they need? Is eventually getting to faster access to new data worth the perceived risk? If you have resistance to data mesh, look at delivering necessary capabilities to your data producers and/or consumers in a small-scale, incremental way and not specifically tying that in their mind to data mesh. Tie those incremental capabilities to business value. Look to constantly communicate the what and the why of improvements to your platform to drive engagement. What is the purpose? Why should they care? It's easy to fall into the trap of trying to iterate everything constantly. There is a concept of "good enough for now". Don't be focused on getting everything perfect, that juice is not worth the squeeze. A good signal to reevaluate your domain boundaries is: a dashboard is still used but the owner no longer uses it. They don't want to own it any more so you need to find a new owner. That probably means changing business boundaries if the original user doesn't use it anymore. To drive buy-in for data

In this episode, host Dr. Aaron Fritts interviews Drs. Chad Laurich and Neal Khurana about how they looked past traditional competition between IR and vascular surgery to build a multidisciplinary practice to meet market need and provide comprehensive patient care for an underserved community in South Dakota. --- CHECK OUT OUR SPONSORS Viz.ai https://www.viz.ai/ Boston Scientific Nextlab https://www.bostonscientific.com/en-US/nextlab.html?utm_source=oth_site&utm_medium=native&utm_campaign=pi-at-us-nextlab-hci&utm_content=n-backtable-n-backtable_site_nextlab_1&cid=n10008040 --- SHOW NOTES We begin by discussing how Dr. Khurana joined Dr. Laurich at his practice in South Dakota. When Dr. Laurich opened his solo practice, he realized there was a lack of medical care in the community and he knew he would not be able to meet the demand on his own. He decided he wanted to bring an IR to his group due to his respect for IR and the breadth of procedural and clinical knowledge they would bring. He knew that their combined skills would provide better patient care than hiring another vascular surgeon. Next, we discuss the concept of collaboration over competition in vascular surgery and interventional radiology. Dr. Khurana advises that in order to enter into a partnership such as this, you have to understand that you are not the only one able to do endovascular work, that there are vascular surgery and interventional cardiology colleagues who are extremely talented in vascular intervention. All egos must be put aside, and you must never forget that the goal is to help the patient. Dr. Khurana joined Dr. Laurich with this mindset and an eagerness to learn as much as he could to benefit their community. Dr. Laurich and Dr. Khurana hope this collaborative model grows in popularity among all endovascular specialists. The OBL model affords physician autonomy, excellence in patient care, and provides an out from the burnout caused by the hospital grind. What ends up happening at a well designed and operated OBL is that everyone wins: physicians, patients and staff. This VS-IR powerhouse hopes to provide master courses in the future for physicians to learn how to master certain diseases or procedures that they need to run a successful multidisciplinary endovascular OBL. --- RESOURCES Ep. 129: OBL/ASC Business Pearls: https://www.backtable.com/shows/vi/podcasts/129/obl-asc-business-pearls Ep. 205: Update on Reimbursement Cuts for the OBL/ASC: https://www.backtable.com/shows/vi/podcasts/205/update-on-reimbursement-cuts-for-the-obl-asc

Ep 89: Homeopathy for Infertility - Dr Varsha Khurana Dr Khurana writes the following: "I am a medically-trained homeopath with an experience of 18 yrs+ in practice. My special area of interest was Paediatric practice in the formative years but as I gained more experience, I have become inclined towards INFERTILITY & WOMEN'S HORMONAL HEALTH. Although each case dictates the homeopathic approach needed, I try to analyse the mental aspect of my patients as well as the physical symptoms to treat them in my practice.    Along with the homeopathic prescription, I counsel my patients as well. I advise lifestyle changes, dietary modifications & natural supplements as & when appropriate. I treat patients from all over the world via online zoom or skype consultations now, since in the last 2 yrs, as I have had to shift my practice entirely online.   My work has become all consuming, but I am a mother of 2 kids and I struggle to find the right balance sometimes as I am becoming more and more passionate about my work, with each passing day. I am also a part of an International team of homeopaths, at Homeopathy247.    I also offer courses developed around the MIND RUBRICS of homeopathy (only for homeopaths). With the pandemic and the resulting disruption, now more than ever we are required to be resilient, connected and empathetic. It is not unusual to feel Anxious, Fearful, Overwhelmed or Uncertain. It is how we manage our responses that matter. Anxiety is a physiological response to a threat and a symptom of inflammation. Threat (including our thoughts and emotions) fires up our immune system and cytokines. Neuroscience has shown us that our thoughts and emotions are processed by our brain in the same way as a physical threat. By reducing or resolving stress and anxiety you lower levels of inflammation, thereby allowing your immune system to function better. Jaidip is a leadership coach working independently and with the Asian Leadership Institute, Chiang Mai. Jaidip combines his in-depth understanding of the corporate world with a holistic approach to leadership transformation. Over the last ten years he has coached senior executives, entrepreneurs and teams across India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Russia, UK and the US. He has extensive corporate experience and understands the skills needed to work and excel in stressful, uncertain and ever changing environments across diverse cultures, having spent 20 years successfully in investment banking in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has an MBA from Insead, France, graduating with distinction and he completed his BCom (Hons) from SRCC, Delhi University. Jaidip is a dedicated student of Vedanta practicing living a holistic and whole hearted life.
