Sarah Paul and Michelle Sullivan reframe morphology as the system that connects decoding, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar... not "one more thing" to squeeze into your day. They share five no-prep routines (morpheme chains, word sums, matrices, word webs, and "spot the base") you can weave into what you're already doing this week. The goal isn't overhauling your instruction. It's helping students finally understand how English actually works, one meaningful morpheme at a time. If your word study block has felt disconnected or your students are still memorizing words in isolation... this mid-year reset might change everything.Links/Resources:FREE Word Posters: https://sarah-s-snippets.kit.com/2e3d64e8f4Connect with Michelle: https://www.michelleandthecolorfulclassroom.com/Connect with Sarah: https://sarahsnippets.com/Share your takeaways and join the summit fun in the Teacher Winter Talks Facebook group!Teacher Winter Talks is sponsored by the Teacher Approved Club and Fashion Fix.

278. How to Conduct a Mid Year Check In using a Data Wall

School Counseling Simplified Podcast

Welcome back to another episode of School Counseling Simplified. Happy December. This time of year is fast paced as the semester wraps up and the holidays approach. In the last episode I briefly mentioned data walls, and today I am taking a deeper look at how to conduct a mid-year check-in using a data wall. While end-of-year reports are valuable, data tracking should not be reserved only for the end of the school year. Ongoing data review is essential because it helps ensure that the support you provide continues to meet the changing needs of your students. A data wall is a bulletin board that visually highlights the impact of your counseling services. It allows you to quantify student progress through tools such as self assessments and behavior surveys. This data can illustrate growth from the start to the end of your small groups and other interventions. Your data wall can also show the volume of services you have provided. This includes the number of students you have seen, the sessions you have held, and the lessons you have taught. You can gather these numbers from your logs, scheduler, or calendar. Creating a data wall strengthens your advocacy efforts, informs curriculum adjustments, and communicates the value of your program to students, families, and staff. Once your data is organized, use charts and graphs to present your findings clearly. Key reminders Keep all information anonymous to maintain confidentiality Use only the data that is most helpful Update your data wall quarterly, monthly, or by semester Place it in a high traffic area to maximize visibility This simple mid-year check-in will help you celebrate progress, identify needs, and confidently communicate the work you are doing. If you create a data wall, share it with me on Instagram. I would love to see it.   Resources Mentioned: Join IMPACT Data Wall Blog - How to Conduct a Mid-Year Check-in Using a Data Wall Connect with Rachel: TpT Store Blog Instagram Facebook Page Facebook Group Pinterest Youtube   More About School Counseling Simplified: School Counseling Simplified is a podcast offering easy to implement strategies for busy school counselors. Measuring Financial Performance Mid-Year & Forecasting For The Future

Send us a textThis episode of the Private Practice Survival Guide breaks down a practical, mid-year playbook for measuring financial performance and forecasting for the future in private healthcare practices. Brandon clarifies core terms—Look-Back Analysis (retrospective KPI and revenue review), Forecasting (time-series, regression, probability ranges grounded in historical data), and Projections (scenario planning for new services/locations without prior data)—and shows how they interlock to drive data-informed decisions. Listeners learn a cadence for reviewing daily/weekly/monthly → quarterly → biannual → annual metrics, how to visualize trends to avoid cash-flow surprises, and how to translate descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics into staffing, payer-mix, and scheduling strategy. The episode highlights seasonality (Q3–early Q4 as a revenue window before Thanksgiving), profitability analysis by service line (gross margin, net margin, “no margin, no mission”), and payer policy realities (e.g., Medicaid constraints and contractual guardrails). Takeaway: build clean data pipelines, define target KPIs, validate with look-backs, model best-/base-/worst-case forecasts, and use projections to stress-test growth moves—so you can allocate resources, hire, and market with confidence in the next two quarters.Welcome to Private Practice Survival Guide Podcast hosted by Brandon Seigel! In this episode, April dives into one of the most overlooked success tools — the mid-year check-in. You don't have to wait until December to panic-sprint toward your goals. Right now is the perfect time to pause, assess, and pivot if needed so you can end the year exactly where you want to be April shares why so many entrepreneurs and high performers drift off course, how OPPs (Other People's Priorities) hijack our time, and why we're often convinced we're “behind” — even when we're not. JP Morgan's latest M&A report reveals something fascinating: despite ongoing uncertainty, global deal volumes hit $2.2 trillion (up 27% year-over-year).Here's what caught my attention: - Mega deals increased 57% because bigger players can thrive when smaller competitors freeze up. - Cross-border activity actually grew 24% despite rising protectionism as companies use M&A to position around trade uncertainties rather than avoid them. - And get this - AI infrastructure needs will drive $1 trillion in spending over the next 5 years, with data center capacity needing to increase 100-fold.Technology M&A surged 42%, financial services up 56%, and even media jumped 51% as consolidation becomes a survival strategy. The bottom line? Uncertainty isn't going away, but markets remain remarkably resilient. If you listen to much of the media, you might feel the real estate market is on the precipice of another catastrophic crash, similar to 2008. In this podcast, Brian Buffini, founder and chairman of Buffini & Company, shares the real truth. Using well-researched data and stats, Brian discusses how the market is not crashing but is actually rebalancing back to numbers seen in 2019. He shares his forecast for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026, including home prices, median sales prices and mortgage rates. Brian also offers practical, strategic tips that agents can use when working with buyers and sellers, many of whom also have been led to false beliefs by doom scrolling, to help them understand the true housing market. He also introduces a major new campaign for Buffini clients, “Just 1,” that will help them use the power of working by referral to transform their business. YOU WILL LEARN: • The real data on the housing market including current stats and a forecast for 2025 and 2026. • How real estate agents can help their clients past doom scrolling and navigate them to successfully buying or selling a home. • How the “Just 1” campaign, based on Buffini's proven, repeatable system of working by referral, can transform your business and your life. MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Just1 Campaign NOTEWORTHY QUOTES FROM THIS EPISODE: “We're back to 2019 now and by the way, a 2019 agent was far more skilled than a 2025 agent. They were far more professional called back on time, far more detailed and knew how to negotiate.” - Brian Buffini “If rates go from 7 to 6%, 5.5 million additional households in the United States will be eligible to buy a home including most importantly, 1.6 million renters.” - Brian Buffini “The key to this market for buyers is choice and for sellers it's about competition.” - Brian Buffini “Mortgage rates are going to hover between 6.25 and 6.5%.” - Brian Buffini “Just one referral can change everything.” - Brian Buffini Hosted on Acast.
