At our Testimony & Thanksgiving Service, Pastor Femi Paul, launched us into a new season with a powerful prophetic message titled "Remembered by God!" Drawing from Esther 6 and the story of Mordecai, we were reminded that although his act of loyalty had gone unnoticed by men, heaven had not forgotten. At the appointed time, the king asked, "What honour and reward has been given to Mordecai?" revealing that God's timing is never late. Building on Isaiah 49:15–16, He assured us that while people may forget us, God never does. Our names are engraved on the palms of His hands, and every promise concerning our lives remains continually before Him. The message continued through the life of Joseph, who was forgotten by the chief cupbearer for two full years until the day God orchestrated his remembrance. What others had delayed, God accelerated. The cupbearer suddenly remembered what he had failed to do, Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and in a single day his story changed forever. PFP declared that this same God still remembers His people, bringing long-awaited promises to pass at the appointed time. The prophetic charge for the month was clear: this is the season to be remembered, rewarded, and called forth into God's prepared purpose. Confession: Lord, thank You because You never forget Your children. Though others may overlook or delay me, I rest in the confidence that my times are in Your hands. In this appointed season, remember me for good, reward every labour of love, and bring me into every opportunity You have prepared for me. I declare that my season of remembrance has come, and my life is changing for the best. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Brian Armstrong changed his profile picture to a memecoin. It pumped to thirty million. Ten thousand wallets piled in. Less than twenty-four hours later, he changed it back — and every one of those wallets felt it.That one move cracked open the week's biggest debate: what should Coinbase and Base actually be for? And what does it mean that Robinhood's new L2 — launched three weeks ago, supposedly for tokenized stocks — already has five hundred million in memecoin volume versus thirteen million in RWAs?This week on The Defiant, Camila Russo sits down with three guests who can't agree on anything — and that's exactly why this conversation works.Austin Campbell (Zero Knowledge / NYU Stern) says Base's behavior was both an intellectual and moral failing — memecoins are gambling, and Coinbase can't build payment infrastructure while promoting gambling to young people at the same time. Jason Yanowitz (Blockworks) says the strategy is closer to right than people admit, and the real problem is execution, not direction. Michael Lee (LienFi), a Base builder since day one, says Armstrong's PFP move caused real damage — but mercenary traders have also paid twenty million dollars to creators on Base, and nobody else is stepping in to do that.School bus. Rocket ship. Same company. That's the problem.Guests: Austin Campbell (Zero Knowledge / NYU Stern) | Jason Yanowitz (Blockworks) | Michael Lee (LienFi) Topics: Memecoins, Coinbase, Base, Robinhood L2, content coins, Brian Armstrong, crypto regulation, everything exchange

At our Interactive Midweek Service, Pastor Femi Paul continued teaching on the subject "Rest from Stress!" reminding us that God never designed His children to be consumed by worry, anxiety, or endless striving. Drawing from Psalm 127:2 and Exodus 33:14, we saw that while the world glorifies busyness and anxious labour, God's way is different. His promise is not merely to help us cope with stress, but to personally lead us into His rest. PFP beautifully highlighted the different dimensions of this promise: God's rest brings peace (NLT), victory (NCV), and success (TLB). When God is present, we no longer have to carry life's burdens alone because His reassuring promise remains, "Don't stress, I will give you rest." The message also revealed that God's rest is practical, not theoretical. From 2 Thessalonians, we were reminded that God gives rest to those who are troubled, while 2 Chronicles showed that His rest creates the atmosphere for growth, progress, and fruitfulness, just as King Asa experienced peace to build the nation. Stress may be a reality in our world, but it should never become our identity. God's invitation is to exchange anxiety for His presence, striving for His peace, and fear for confident trust. As we choose to walk with Him daily, we can live with the assurance that everything will indeed be fine because the Lord Himself goes with us. Confession: Lord, thank You for promising to go with me and give me rest. Today I release every burden, anxiety, and pressure into Your hands. I choose to trust Your presence above my circumstances and receive Your peace, victory, and success in every area of my life. I will no longer be ruled by stress, because You are with me and everything will indeed be fine. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The months immediately following a client's death create one of the most important income tax planning windows in estate administration. While many practitioners focus on basis step-ups and beneficiary distributions, one election can fundamentally change how post-death income is managed: the Section 645 election. In this episode, Cary Sinnett sits down with nationally recognized tax expert Bob Keebler to explore how electing to treat a revocable trust and estate as a single taxable entity can create valuable planning opportunities through fiscal year flexibility, income deferral, charitable deduction planning, and more. Bob explains why he believes the Section 645 election should be the default choice in nearly every revocable trust administration and discusses the rare situations where it may not be appropriate. What you'll learn: Why estates receive more favorable income tax treatment than revocable trusts How the Section 645 election allows a trust to use an estate's fiscal year Using fiscal year flexibility to defer income and smooth taxable distributions How the election can effectively stretch certain inherited IRA distributions Why charitable deductions under IRC Section 642(c) are often more advantageous for estates The impact of the election on distributable net income (DNI) planning How the election can improve gain and loss netting in pecuniary funding situations under the Kenan case The interaction between the Section 645 election and S corporation stock ownership The limited circumstances where practitioners may intentionally avoid making the election AICPA Resources: Chart: Useful Estate and Trust Decision Charts Podcast: Bob Keebler on Avoiding Costly Estate Planning Mistakes Resource: Summary and initial thoughts — Changes to opportunity zones Resource: 2026 Individual, Estate, and Gift Tax Cheat Sheet Guide: The Adviser's Guide to Financial & Estate Planning - Vol. 4 Program: Estate Planning Certificate Exam This episode is brought to you by the AICPA's Personal Financial Planning Section, the premier provider of information, tools, advocacy, and guidance for professionals who specialize in providing tax, estate, retirement, risk management and investment planning advice. At our Premium Worship & Prayers Service, Pastor Femi Paul brought us a faith-building message titled "Be It Unto Me..." Tracing Sarah's journey from God's promise in Genesis 17 to its fulfilment in Genesis 21, we were reminded that God always keeps His Word and performs exactly what He has promised, at the appointed time. Although the years between the promise and the manifestation were marked by waiting, questions, and moments of doubt, God's timing never failed. Through Sarah and later Mary's response in Luke 1:38, we saw that faith is not simply believing God can do it, but positioning our hearts to say, "Be it unto me according to Your Word." The message challenged us not to abandon the dreams and promises God has placed in our hearts simply because they seem delayed or unrealistic. Like Sarah, many stop pursuing the promise because time has tested their hope, yet Habakkuk reminds us that though the vision tarries, it will surely come and will not be late. PFP encouraged us to stand secure on God's promises despite the contrary winds of life, knowing that His faithfulness is unwavering and His Word never returns void. The call was simple: keep believing, keep pursuing, and keep declaring, "Be it unto me according to Your Word." Confession: Lord, thank You because You are faithful to every promise You have spoken over my life. I choose to trust Your timing, even when I cannot yet see the fulfilment. Strengthen my faith to keep pursuing every dream You have given me, and let every word You have spoken concerning me come to pass at the appointed time. Be it unto me according to Your Word. Amen.

Pastor Femi Paul brought our teaching series to a beautiful conclusion with a message titled "God's Loving-Kindness!" Drawing from Psalm 103:1–5, we were reminded that God has not only redeemed our lives, but has crowned us with loving-kindness and tender mercies. PFP explained that the Hebrew word Hesed speaks of faithful love in action: love that is steadfast, dependable, and continually expressed through goodness and mercy. From Jeremiah 31, we saw a God who declares, "I've never quit loving you and never will," whose everlasting love draws us to Himself, rebuilds us, and assures us that we can expect love, love, and more love. The message reached its powerful conclusion in Titus 3:4, where we saw God's loving-kindness move beyond an idea or attribute and appear in a Person: Jesus Christ. God's love did not remain distant or theoretical; it came to us, reached for us, and saved us. His loving-kindness is great beyond measure, His faithfulness is renewed every morning, and wisdom teaches us to recognise His love at work throughout our lives. The series may have concluded, but its call remains: to receive God's love, recognise His loving-kindness, and allow the love we have experienced in Christ to become love in action through us. Confession: Lord, thank You for crowning me with Your loving-kindness and tender mercies. I receive Your faithful love afresh today and rest in the assurance that You have never stopped loving me and never will. Help me to recognise Your goodness throughout my life and, having received Your love so freely, let that same love become visible through me. Amen.

Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance is often marketed as a "tax-free retirement income" solution, but how do these policies really work over time? To cut through the noise, financial planner Andy Panko, CFP®, RICP®, EA, decided to run his own real-time experiment. He bought an IUL, fully documented the structure, costs, and performance, and is openly sharing the results year after year. In this episode, Andy joins us to explain what IULs are, why he launched The IUL Experiment, and what every financial planner should know before considering them in retirement planning conversations. We talk about: The structure of IULs and why they're so often misunderstood The gap between marketing promises and actual performance The potential benefits—tax deferral and downside protection—and their trade-offs Why transparency and ongoing tracking matter for evaluating these products How planners can approach IUL conversations with clarity and objectivity Whether you've advised clients on IULs, been pitched on them, or just want to better understand how they fit (or don't fit) into real financial planning, this episode gives you a front-row seat to an experiment playing out in real time. One episode that covers everything from bankruptcy recovery to retiring in your 40s.
Most people think being frugal means cutting every expense. The truth is, some frugal habits build wealth while others actually keep you poor.
Love is not a noun. It is a verb. This week, Pastor Femi Paul shifted the conversation from what we believe about love to what we actually do with it. Drawing from 1 John 3:18–19, we were reminded that love is more than words, emotions, or good intentions; it must be demonstrated through sincere and practical action. Building on the truth that love is the essence of God, Pastor Femi explained that kindness is the essence of love, making kindness the clearest expression of love in action. Through the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus shifted the conversation from "Who is my neighbour?" to "Go and do the same," teaching us that genuine love is revealed in compassion, kindness, and a willingness to meet the needs of others. The message challenged us to move beyond lip service and become people whose actions consistently reflect the love of Christ. Looking at the early church in Acts 2, we saw a community whose generosity, hospitality, and genuine care for one another caused them to be respected, admired, and attractive to those around them. Pastor reminded us that our actions either validate or contradict our profession of faith. The call was clear and deeply personal: now is the time to put God's love into action, as PFP concluded, "I know you can; I trust you will." Confession: Lord, thank You for loving me so completely and unconditionally. Let Your love move beyond my words and become evident in my actions every day. Fill my heart with kindness, compassion, and sincerity, so that my life points others to You and reflects the love of Christ wherever I go. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Most retirement plans answer one question: Can I afford to retire? But far fewer answer the question that often matters just as much: What am I retiring to? In this episode, Cary Sinnett sits down with renowned researcher and Harvard Business School professor emerita Teresa Amabile to explore the hidden psychological transition that accompanies retirement. Drawing from more than a decade of research and interviews with retirees, she explains why many successful professionals fear retirement, why those fears are often misplaced, and how financial planners can help clients prepare for life beyond the balance sheet. Whether you're guiding clients toward retirement or thinking about your own future, this conversation offers practical insights into identity, purpose, relationships, and creating a retirement that truly works. Questions Discussed: Why do so many successful professionals fear retirement despite being financially prepared? What are the four psychological tasks every retiree faces? How can retirees preserve a sense of identity after leaving work? What role should financial planners play in preparing clients emotionally for retirement? What single question can advisors ask that helps clients begin designing a meaningful retirement? Key Takeaways: Retirement is a transition, not a single event. Financial readiness alone does not guarantee retirement satisfaction. Many pre-retirees fear the unknown, but most retirees ultimately adapt successfully. Identity, relationships, and daily routines are critical components of a fulfilling retirement. Financial planners can add tremendous value by encouraging clients to think intentionally about what comes after their careers. Pastor Femi Paul brought us a faith building message titled "Strength to Birth Your Dreams!" Drawing from Genesis 18 and Hebrews 11:11, we were reminded that God's promises require more than human ability; they require divine enablement. Although Sarah had received the prophecy of a son, her natural strength was no longer sufficient to fulfil it. Scripture declares that "by faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive." We learned that the fulfilment of God given dreams is not sustained by determination alone, but by strength that comes from God. Grace is God's divine enablement, empowering us to accomplish what our own strength never could. The message also spoke to everyone who has grown weary because of delay, disappointment, or deferred hope. Drawing from Isaiah 40, Psalm 13, Genesis 18:14, and Judges 6:14, PFP reminded us that God gives strength to the weak, hastens His promises at the appointed time, and equips those He calls. Whatever dream God has placed within us, He also supplies the grace to bring it to life. Our prayer is not simply for opportunities, but for renewed strength to carry, sustain, and birth everything God has ordained for our lives. Confession: Lord, thank You for the dreams and purpose You have placed within me. I receive fresh strength by Your grace to carry, nurture, and birth every promise You have spoken over my life. Where I have grown weary, renew me; where I have lost hope, restore me. Nothing is too hard for You, and by Your strength, I will fulfil every assignment You have prepared for me. Amen.

Some of the biggest planning opportunities in trust and estate taxation are also the easiest to miss. In this episode, Cary Sinnett sits down with nationally recognized estate planning authority Bob Keebler to explore three highly technical areas that can dramatically impact client outcomes: portability elections, fiduciary income taxation during periods of market volatility, and the often-misunderstood Kenan doctrine. Bob explains where advisors commonly overlook opportunities, how missed elections may still be salvaged, and why funding decisions inside trusts and estates can create unexpected capital gains. Along the way, he highlights strategies that help CPA financial planners deliver more thoughtful and tax-efficient advice to families across generations. Questions Answered How does portability work, and when can missed portability elections still be recovered? When should advisors favor portability versus bypass trusts and GST planning? What is the Kenan doctrine, and why can funding a trust with appreciated assets trigger capital gains? How does a Section 645 election change the taxation of trusts during administration? Equal inheritances are not always equal when embedded capital gains and basis differences are considered. Pastor Femi Paul ushered the church into an atmosphere of breakthrough prayers with a prophetic charge titled "Surround Me With Songs of Victory!" Drawing from Psalm 32:7, we were reminded that God is not only our hiding place and protector, but the One who surrounds His people with songs of victory even before the battle is over. Using the account of Elisha's servant in 2 Kings 6, we reflected on how circumstances can sometimes appear overwhelming and hopeless. Yet, while the servant saw an army surrounding the city, God had already surrounded His people with a greater and unseen victory. The message encouraged us to look beyond what is happening around us and place our confidence in the God who is always at work on our behalf. Drawing from Psalms 5:12, 125:1–2, and 37:23–24, PFP reminded us that those who trust in the Lord are secure, protected, and upheld by His hand. Just as mountains surround Jerusalem, God surrounds His people with His favour, His presence, and His help. The charge was simple but powerful: no matter what surrounds us, God's protection, favour, and victory surround us even more. As we trust Him, fear gives way to faith, trouble gives way to testimony, and our lives become filled with songs of victory. Confession: Lord, thank You for being my hiding place and my defender. I choose to trust You above what I see, hear, or feel. Surround me and my family with Your favour, protection, and songs of victory, and let every challenge become a testimony of Your faithfulness and power. Amen.

Pastor Femi Paul continued in the place of prayer with an exhortation titled Send David to Deliver Us From Reproach! Drawing from 1 Samuel 17, we reflected on how fear and hopelessness gripped Israel as Goliath continually challenged God's people. Yet the story changed with two powerful words: "Enter David!" We were reminded that when God's people seem overwhelmed by reproach, shame, opposition, or impossible circumstances, God is able to raise a deliverer and send help at the appointed time. Reading scriptures from Luke 1:74–75 and Psalm 22:19–20, PFP led the church in prayers for rescue, deliverance, and divine intervention. The message emphasised that God delivers His people from the hand and power of their enemies so they may serve Him without fear. Together, we declared that evil will not triumph over our lives, families, church, state, or nation, and that God will hasten to help His people. Confession: Lord, thank You for being my Deliverer and Helper. When fear or trouble arise, I choose to trust in You. Rescue me from every reproach, strengthen my faith, and let Your victory be evident in every area of my life. Amen.
Two retirees. Same portfolio. Same returns. One ran out of money at 87. The only difference was when the bad years hit. Here is how to make sure you are not the unlucky one.
Pastor Femi Paul led the church in fervent prayers for the church and our nation through a stirring exhortation titled Deliver Us From Evil! Anchored on Matthew 6:13, the final petition in the Lord's Prayer, we were reminded that the reality of evil is something believers must confront through prayer and dependence on God. Drawing from Jeremiah 8:15, Pastor highlighted the frustration of hoping for relief, breakthrough, and good fortune only to be met with trouble and terror instead. The message identified three dimensions from which evil may arise: evil from above through spiritual wickedness in heavenly places, evil from around through hostile and malicious forces, and evil from within through betrayals and opposition from unexpected quarters. Yet, in the midst of these realities, God remains our refuge, defender, and deliverer. Drawing from Psalm 50:15, Psalm 140, Psalm 125, and 2 Thessalonians 3, we were encouraged to call upon God in times of trouble with confidence, knowing that He hears, rescues, and preserves His people. PFP reminded us that evil may take many forms, whether spiritual, systemic, or personal, but none is greater than the power and authority of God. Our Senior Pastor led the church in prayers for divine protection, deliverance from wicked and unreasonable people, and preservation from every satanic scheme and violent agenda. The service concluded with the comforting assurance from 2 Thessalonians 3:16 that the Lord Himself is able to give us peace at all times, in every way, and under every circumstance. Our confidence remains in God, whose Kingdom, Power, and Glory endure forever. Confession: Lord, I thank You for being my refuge, protector, and deliverer. Preserve me from every evil plan, every wicked influence, and every attack seen or unseen. Let Your peace guard my heart, Your power defend my life, and Your presence surround me and my loved ones in every circumstance. Amen.

What does the future of the CPA profession look like as advisory, financial planning, and AI reshape client expectations? In this episode of the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Podcast, Cary Sinnett sits down with Sue Coffey, CEO of Public Accounting at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, to discuss the profession's transformation from compliance-focused work to holistic trusted advisory.
