JB Thibodeaux grew up in Acres Homes in Houston and is a third-generation carpenter and concrete specialist who turned that craft into a vertically-integrated real estate development business. His firms, J.B. Thibodeaux Homes & Properties, CCB Construction LLC, and CCB General Contractors LLC, have led over $100 million in projects across mass development, pocket development, and affordable housing infill. This year, the Houston market crowned him the "Duplex King."In this episode, Ed and JB unpack a contrarian lesson the real estate education industry rarely teaches: the difference between the real estate hustle and the real estate business. Hustle gets you doors. Business gets you a sustainable enterprise. Most operators only ever learn the first one.JB walks through the Houston duplex pricing math that vindicated his long conviction on the market, from "praying to get $350" on a 2,500 square foot duplex to selling at $479, almost $500,000. He explains his concept-to-keys pocket-development model, Houston's no-zoning-but-deed-restrictions quirk, the 60/40 build-to-sell vs. build-to-hold split for his client base, and why vertical integration (owning the GC) is a margin lever most flippers underestimate. In this episode:Pocket development inside a major metro: the frameworkThe duplex math that vindicated a Houston long-holdHouston's "no zoning" reality: where the leverage actually livesWhy "the gurus teach you doors, not business"House hacking as the duplex exit strategyGenerational construction knowledge as competitive moatMayor Sylvester Turner naming February 20 "James 'JB' Thibodeaux Day" (2019)If you're a flipper, wholesaler, or operator trying to build a business and not just a deal pipeline, this is the episode. This week's book: The Miracle Morning by Hal ElrodGuest: JB Thibodeaux, Founder & Managing Partner, J.B. JB Thibodeaux shares how he became the “Duplex King,” scaled pocket developments, and created a $100M+ housing portfolio through innovation and relationships. In this episode of RealDealChat, Jack Hoss sits down with JB Thibodeaux, founder of JB Thibo Homes & Properties and the man known as the “Duplex King.” JB explains how growing up in construction became both an advantage and an Achilles heel — and why relying on hustle alone nearly destroyed his early real estate career. He shares the full story behind his pocket development strategy, how he scaled from flipping to building dozens of duplexes at a time, and how he created an efficient 18x67 duplex design that opened the door to $100M+ worth of sustainable housing projects.JB also breaks down his Duplex Flex Giveaway, a partnership with Prosperity Bank and the NAACP designed to help working-class individuals move from surviving to thriving. He explains why real estate is “the ultimate relationship business,” how he overcame mistakes (like buying 23 houses too fast), and why mindset and delegation drive scale more than construction skills ever could. This is a masterclass in development, mindset, and creating generational wealth. What You'll LearnWhy growing up in construction helped—and hurt—his early careerHow he went from flipping to developing high-density duplex projectsThe innovation behind his 18x67 duplex designHow to avoid overbuilding and manage engineering costsThe biggest mistakes new investors make when scalingWhy relationships matter more than tacticsHow delegation unlocked his ability to growHow the Duplex Flex Giveaway works and who it helpsA practical framework for moving from service provider to developer
Welcome to Get ObsessedJulie and Mika open the episode with a reflection on their shared obsession with romance, sensuality, dreaming, and the power of the written word. They introduce Pamela S. Thibodeaux, a woman whose storytelling lives at the intersection of faith, sensuality, and gritty realism. Pamela's Writing Origin StoryPamela shares how her writing journey began in her twenties, filling five-subject notebooks while raising young children. Without access to a computer or typewriter, she rented machines or borrowed them whenever she could—because the stories simply needed to come out. Discovering the Christian MarketPamela explains the early challenges of writing romance with faith elements. Traditional Christian publishers wanted extremely conservative love stories: no passionate kisses no euphemisms like “heck” or “darn” no unmarried characters alone together no dancing unless it was “square dancing”Her stories, full of sensuality, passion, complexity, and spiritual themes, didn't fit the mold. Blending Sensuality & SpiritualityPamela speaks about the moment she recommitted her life to God and asked to write fiction that glorifies Him—without sanitizing human passion. She believed (and still believes) that God created humans with desire, chemistry, and emotional depth, and that romance fiction should honor that. Her tagline—“Inspirational with an Edge”—came organically from a bookstore manager who instantly recognized her voice. The Struggle—and Freedom—of Finding the Right MarketTraditional Christian publishers found her books “too sensual.” Secular publishers found them “too much God.” Pamela had to find a lane for readers who wanted both. Small-press publishers embraced her work, and she eventually indie-published after getting her rights back. Writing Real Life: Domestic Violence, Abuse & HealingPamela opens up about her own past—being young, married to an alcoholic, surviving domestic violence, raising children, and eventually finding safety and healing. She talks about how life experiences naturally show up in her books, especially through: characters overcoming abuse emotional healing arcs the tension between vulnerability and strength the journey from fear to faith One of her most powerful books was written in four months during tax season while working full-time—something she considers a divine co-creation. Faith Without PreachingPamela emphasizes she's not writing for the already-convinced. Her books aren't sermons, and her characters aren't perfect. Instead, she writes for readers who may never go to church or pick up a Bible—but still crave meaning, hope, and spiritual truth. The Role of Passion in LoveShe speaks candidly about how emotional, spiritual, and physical intimacy are interconnected—and why she refuses to separate them in her fiction. She believes portraying passion isn't sinful; it's honest, healthy, and God-designed. Marriage, Divorce & RedemptionJulie and Pamela connect over their shared experience with divorce. Pamela shares that: her first marriage was volatile she left to protect herself and her children she later remarried and was widowed healing, forgiveness, and growth shaped her deeply These life chapters add texture to the emotional resolution in her stories and to the compassion she brings to her characters. A Multifaceted Creative LifeMika highlights Pamela's passion for family, storytelling, The Chosen series, and her love for the Texas cowboy culture. Pamela speaks about writing stories set in the Texas Hill Country and her affection for cowboy romance rooted in faith and realism. Where to Find PamelaPamela shares her platforms: Website: pamelathibodeaux.com Amazon & major retailers for her books YouTube: A Novel Lunch (writing instruction) YouTube: Coaching in PJ's (life tips, personal growth) ClosingJulie and Mika thank Pamela for her authenticity, depth, vulnerability, and craft. Send us a textGiants fans, this Monday Night Football matchup just got insane. Jaxson Dart is fully cleared from concussion protocol and will start under the lights, Kayvon Thibodeaux is officially out again, Dexter Lawrence is battling through that elbow injury, and the Patriots are somehow on a nine-game heater while losing yet another starting offensive lineman. We are going live to break down exactly how these injuries shift the trenches, how the matchup really plays now, and whether the Giants plus the points are a lot more live than Vegas wants you to think. Before we go further, drop your MNF pick in the comments — Giants with the points or Patriots to keep the streak alive? And make sure to subscribe so you never miss a Giants breakdown, game reaction, or live pick show. The Patriots injury report wipes out key pieces: starting LG Jared Wilson is out, special teams captain Brenden Schooler is out, and front-seven disruptors Harold Landry and Khyiris Tonga are questionable. Add that to a long list of Patriots already on IR — their LT, their NT, their starting DE, their top depth CB — and suddenly this “red-hot Patriots team” is showing real cracks. The Giants' sheet tells a different story. Kayvon Thibodeaux is out, which hurts the pass rush, but nearly every core defender is trending toward playing: Deonte Banks, Paulson Adebo, Tyler Nubin, Dexter Lawrence, and DJ Davidson all logged enough work to expect them on the field. Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Jaxson Dart were all full participants, giving the Giants enough offensive firepower to make this a real game if pass protection holds up. The question is whether the Giants can generate any edge pressure without Thibodeaux, and whether Dart can stress a Patriots defense that has been forced deep into its rotation. After the full MNF breakdown, we'll hit the entire Sunday slate. Dolphins-Saints has one of the weirdest totals and injury situations of the week, Texans-Colts might flip the AFC South if C.J. Stroud steals one on the road, and Falcons-Jets has sharp models screaming Over despite a total under 40. 49ers-Browns is shaping into a “Niners win, Browns cover” game with Myles Garrett chasing a sack record. Rams-Panthers remains one of the most lopsided spreads in the early window, Jaguars-Titans has that classic Vrabel home-dog energy, and Cardinals-Bucs is one of the cleanest “favorite + Over” profiles of the week. The late slate is chaos: Minnesota starting another rookie QB vs Seattle, Buffalo walking into Pittsburgh with two backup tackles, the Raiders changing OCs while being nearly double-digit dogs to the Chargers, and Bo Nix trying to keep Denver in the AFC 1-seed hunt on Sunday Night Football. It's Week 13, the board is wild, and we're breaking down every matchup so Giants fans know exactly where the real edges are across the league.Thank you for watching & for your support. 653. Part 2 of our conversation with Kathleen DuVal about her book, Native Nations: A Millennium in North America. “Pulitzer Prize Winner - National Bestseller - A magisterial overview of a thousand years of Native American history” (The New York Review of Books), from the rise of ancient cities more than a thousand years ago to fights for sovereignty that continue today. Winner of the Bancroft Prize, the Cundill History Prize, and the Mark Lynton History Prize. Long before the colonization of North America, Indigenous Americans built diverse civilizations and adapted to a changing world in ways that reverberated globally. And, as award-winning historian Kathleen DuVal vividly recounts, when Europeans did arrive, no civilization came to a halt because of a few wandering explorers, even when the strangers came well armed. The word came that seven hundred thousand bodies had drawn their last breaths at Verdun, an earth-quaking number for those unacquainted with the greedy appetites of death. She had never been across the sea, but pictured the corpses laid in neat rows like chopped cane at harvest time. “Apologies, ma'am,” came Small John's voice from the rear stairs. “I'd'a sent Roberta, but she scared fiercely of high places. You got to come down. The sun will cook you through.” Five weeks her husband had been gone, and she hadn't even heaved a sigh until she'd tried to fasten her silver bracelet on her own, a task best suited to a second pair of hands. Sweating, she gripped the chain until the metal grew hot in her palm. “Ma'am?” Small John tried again. Without turning, she could feel him moving closer. Had he ever touched her once in these long years? “Roberta said you in a fury.” She turned from the iron railing and flung the bracelet at him hard. It hit his shoulder, tinkled as it fell onto the slate. He lifted it by one end like a snake and walked toward her. “I'd'a gone, too,” he said. “Over there to fight. ‘Cept I don't see like I ought to, and my knee ain't right.” He watched her as if she might bolt over the edge, body set to lunge. Her temper cooled quick, the way Louisiana afternoons went from sweltering to raising shivers on skin before a hurricane blew in from the gulf. “Small John?” she asked. She held her shaking wrist out to him, her jaw and throat and chest all gone hot and raw. She thought he might throw it back at her, but he looked at her straight on, barely glanced down as he slipped the tiny teeth of the clasp together around her wrist, never once touched her skin. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with Christian author and podcast host Wanda Thibodeaux to unpack what grace in the grind really looks like inside modern workplaces driven by hustle culture, quotas and quiet burnout. Wanda breaks down how productivity has become a subtle idol in many careers, why so many leaders feel spiritually and emotionally empty, and how faith, neuroscience and mental health can actually work together at the office instead of competing. This conversation is for high achievers, faith driven professionals, HR leaders, pastors and founders who feel called to do meaningful work but are exhausted by toxic work culture. If you have ever wondered how to bring your faith into meetings without preaching, how to lead with compassion without dropping performance, and how to find small “joy jolts” on the job when your soul feels drained, this episode will give you practical, grounded and very real language to start shifting your workday from survival into purpose. About The Guest : Wanda Thibodeaux is a professional Christian author, co writer and host of the podcast Faithful On The Clock. A trauma survivor and advocate for emotional honesty in leadership, her work has been featured in Forbes and Harvard Business Review. Her latest book, “Grace In The Grind, 52 Devotions For Thriving In The Workplace,” helps faith driven professionals navigate burnout, toxic work culture and ambition without losing their soul in the process. Key Takeaways : Productivity culture can become modern idolatry when achievement and output are treated as what will save us, while faith, rest and mental health get pushed to the back of the line. Faith at work is less about preaching and more about presence. Wanda emphasizes that people notice how you carry yourself, how you listen and how you support others long before they care what you say you believe. Grace in the workplace starts with self forgiveness and patience. Instead of demanding perfection, we can accept human limits, acknowledge exhaustion and give ourselves room to grow. Small compassionate actions create real psychological safety. Simple gestures like checking in, connecting colleagues with mentors or bringing someone a coffee signal that people are more than “cogs in the wheel.” Joy is built through “joy jolts,” not lightning strike wins. Neuroscience shows that small daily moments of pleasure and gratitude reshape the brain, which means you do not need a dream job to experience real joy. Trauma informed leadership treats people as whole humans. Past pain, loss and stress always walk into the office with us, so healthy leaders slow down, prioritize people and create space for honest conversations. Isolation kills joy. Finding even one person who can truly see you and reflect your value back acts as a mirror and can be a powerful first step out of dread and burnout. The discussion focuses on both teams' recent struggles, with the Giants aiming to avoid a 0-3 start and the Chiefs recovering from two consecutive losses, a rarity in the Mahomes-Andy Reid era. The hosts address the Giants' defensive challenges, pointing out that these issues stem primarily from self-inflicted penalties and missed assignments, rather than a lack of talent. Send us a textThe New York Giants defense could be the X-factor of the 2025 season. From the pass rush led by Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns to the interior dominance of Dexter Lawrence II, this unit has the star power to be one of the NFL's most dangerous. With young playmakers like Abdul Carter, Dru Phillips, and Tyler Nubin joining proven veterans such as Bobby Okereke and Paulson Adebo, the Giants finally have a defense that blends youth, leadership, and high-end talent across the board.
Send us a textThe New York Giants preseason is officially in the books, and in this episode of 2 Giants Goofballs, Drew and Rob deliver a complete breakdown of the best and worst Giants players of preseason according to PFF grades, the latest roster cuts, and a look at the franchise's vintage and legacy uniforms returning in 2025. We'll also react to ESPN's Ben Solak ranking the Giants 22nd in “watchability” heading into the season. On offense, the PFF grades highlight some surprising standouts. Bryan Hudson (90.1) topped the entire unit, followed by rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (84.7), veteran QB Russell Wilson (81.7), and depth names like Aaron Stinnie and Tommy DeVito. Meanwhile, the struggles of Evan Neal (48.2), Jon Runyan Jr. (47.7), and fullback Elijah Chatman (48.5) raise serious questions as the Giants prepare to finalize their 53-man roster.Defensively, Cor'Dale Flott (92.3) led the team with an elite grade, while the pass rush duo of Brian Burns (83.9) and Trace Ford (83.6) look ready to dominate alongside Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter. But there were plenty of concerns on the defensive line, including poor grades for Jordon Riley (37.7) and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (50.2).The hosts also cover the Giants' recent roster moves. Jordan Bly, Zach Pascal, Montrell Washington, Jaison Williams, Jimmy Morrissey, Dyontae Johnson, K.J. Cloyd, O'Donnell Fortune, and K'Von Wallace have all been released, while TJ Moore was placed on IR after a brutal preseason-ending fibula injury. With the Tuesday cutdown deadline looming, these are just the first of many tough decisions for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll. The show shifts gears to uniforms, as the Giants announce the return of vintage white throwbacks (11/9 vs Bears, 11/17 vs Packers) and legacy uniforms (11/12 vs 49ers, 12/14 vs Commanders) featuring the classic “GIANTS” helmet. Should New York bring that look back permanently? Finally, we react to ESPN's “watchability” rankings, where the Giants came in at 22nd. Ben Solak praised the defense, especially the pass rush led by Burns, Carter, and Thibodeaux, but questioned the entertainment value of Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers' early usage. Sal got a surprise call from a listener who informed him that the legendary rapper, Redman, is not happy with his takes on New York Giants' player Kayvon Thibodeaux. Sal, a self-proclaimed huge fan of Redman, expressed his shock and disappointment, playfully inviting the hip-hop icon to call in and hash it out. He stood by his critique of Thibodeaux, stating he simply hasn't lived up to his draft status, but made it clear he'd love to have a friendly debate with the "Funk Doctor Spock" himself.
Sal kicks off the show with a bang, revealing that hip-hop icon Redman is apparently unhappy with his past comments about Giants player Kayvon Thibodeaux. After taking a call from a listener who knows the rapper, Sal doubles down on his belief that Thibodeaux hasn't lived up to his draft expectations, but extends a welcoming invitation for Redman to call in and debate it. The conversation then shifts to the Jets and Giants, with Sal expressing cautious optimism about the Giants' defense and new wide receiver Malik Nabers, while remaining skeptical of the Jets' new regime and quarterback Justin Fields. The segment closes with a fiery "Call of the Day" where a passionate fan rips the Yankees' "scripted" management.

Send us a textIn this special live episode of 2 Giants Goofballs, Drew and Rob are joined by legendary Giants content creator The Entertainah to break down everything happening at training camp—including rising stars, injury reports, ESPN's bold praise, and more.We kick off with the fascinating story of Dru Phillips, who had LASIK surgery this offseason and now sees the game (literally) more clearly. Phillips credits the Giants for being the only team to care about his vision issue pre-draft. With improved ball tracking and more confidence in coverage, he's starting to look like a serious contributor in the slot.Next up: Jalin Hyatt speaks! From grueling offseason training and a no-vacation mindset to earning Russell Wilson's trust and hyping up Jaxson Dart, Hyatt is locked in for a breakout. He opens up about overcoming adversity and shows leadership that Giants fans will love to see.We also touch on Malik Nabers returning to action after a minor shoulder issue, while questions swirl around Cam Skattebo's absence. Is it just a “participation plan,” or is there more to it?Paulson Adebo mentoring Deonte Banks is another highlight—Banks is focusing on finishing plays after what he calls a “sophomore slump.” The locker room leadership is showing across the board. And how about some love from ESPN? The Giants are ranked 4th in their “most promising talent under 25” list—above the Eagles and Cowboys. With names like Nabers, Dart, Thibodeaux, and Carter anchoring a deep young core, the future is looking bright in Big Blue. Finally, The Entertainah joins for a rapid-fire round as Rob and Drew throw out Giants player names and he gives his instant takes.
Welcome to In Reality, the podcast about truth, disinformation, and the media. I'm your host, Eric Schurenberg, long-time journalist and media executive, now the founder of the Alliance for Trust in Media. You cannot talk about the future of media, or the future of anything for that matter, without talking about AI. What generative AI does is pretty much exactly what journalism does: digest information, highlight what matters and render it to an audience in a fetching, attention grabbing way. For journalism, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Well, judging from history, it's both or either: all depending on how it's used. There's already alarming evidence that Google's pivot to AI summaries in its search, rather than links, is decimating referral traffic to newsrooms. It's also undeniable that those same newsrooms are using AI to automate the grunt work of information gathering for journalism. To explore both the peril and promise, I'm joined by two guests who approach this upheaval from opposite sides of the media-tech divide. Jessica Chan is head of publisher partnerships at Perplexity.ai, a rising player in AI-powered answer engines. Troy Thibodeaux leads AI strategy at the Associated Press, a legacy newsroom that's long been a leader in automating journalism with integrity. This conversation—recorded live at my University of Chicago class—dives into the licensing dilemmas facing publishers, the safeguards newsrooms are building around generative content, and the hopeful ways AI is being used to personalize, streamline, and even monetize trustworthy journalism.Website - free episode transcriptswww.in-reality.fmProduced by Tom Platts at Sound Sapiensoundsapien.comAlliance for Trust in Mediaalliancefortrust.com
Mike and Charlie discussed LSU baseball's potential interest in former Southern outfielder Cardell Thibodeaux, the SWAC Player of the Year, who entered the transfer portal. Jeff Duncan, a columnist for The Times-Picayune, joined Sports Talk. Duncan praised Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough's first offseason in New Orleans. Duncan shared his thoughts on the Pelicans' busy string of moves under new lead executive Joe Dumars. He also celebrated Jay Johnson's success leading LSU baseball's program. Mike, Charlie, and Steve played their daily "Triple Option" segment.
Today's "Bald Face Lie, Bald Face Truth" segment with Hoff challenged BT on three current sports topics. First, BT had to determine if Kayvon Thibodeaux will out-sack Quinnen Williams in 2025, which he declared a "Bald Faced Truth," betting on Thibodeaux's pure pass-rushing focus and the Giants' potential for more leads. Next, they debated if the Knicks will make a "big splash" transaction this offseason, with BT reluctantly calling it a "Bald Faced Lie" due to financial and asset limitations, despite the team's championship aspirations. Finally, the contentious question of whether the Yankees miss Juan Soto was posed, with BT firmly stating "Bald Faced Lie," arguing that the current roster construction, particularly the improved pitching and defense, outweighs Soto's offensive production for overall team success.

Send us a textThe Giants are making headlines again, from potential big-name acquisitions to deep roster analysis and emotional stories from Gmen legends, Drew and Rob break it all down with insight and clarity that only passionate Giants fans can bring.Kicking things off is a heated debate over whether the Giants should pursue Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. While his elite talent is undeniable, he's missed 34 games over the past four seasons and carries a high price tag. At 28 years old with a solid 75.2 PFF grade, is he worth the investment, or are the risks too great? We also dive into Gabe Davis' free agency tour after visiting the New York last month. With the Saints now in the mix and other contenders like the Steelers and 49ers circling, is there still a shot the Giants bring him in?CBS Sports' Jared Dubin says safety Jason Pinnock was NY's biggest offseason loss—but Drew and Rob disagree, pointing to the signing of Jevon Holland as an upgrade and a sign of a productive offseason.NFL analyst Bucky Brooks sparked a new conversation around Thibodeaux, placing him in “purgatory” between potential and production. Despite racking up 21 sacks and 6 forced fumbles, questions remain about whether Kayvon can make the leap in a new-look Giants defense stacked with talent like Sexy Dex, Burns, and rookie Abdul Carter. In a dramatic off-field storyline, former Giant and ESPN analyst Chris Canty is at the center of a landlord controversy involving a rent-stabilized tenant in Manhattan. With legal battles underway, the story paints a messy picture of high-profile real estate battles in NYC.Eli also revisited one of the most painful moments in his career: his 2017 benching in favor of Geno Smith under then-head coach Ben McAdoo. His emotional comments about the uncertainty and heartbreak give fans a glimpse into the human side of a Giants legend. Finally, Drew and Rob spotlight two former Giants—Deandre Baker and Tae Crowder—who've made waves in the UFL. Both players are pushing for NFL comebacks after standout seasons, but is there any real shot they return to the Giants or even the league? If you're a diehard fan looking for real talk, this is your go-to New York Giants podcast. Send us a textIn this live episode of 2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates, hosts Drew and Rob dive deep into the hottest topics surrounding the New York Giants, starting with a major question that's igniting debate among Giants fans and NFL insiders alike — should the Giants finally trade Evan Neal? With Neal now entering a make-or-break year and shifting to left guard, questions about his future in New York are more relevant than ever. Giants news today circles around how the team will handle their former first-round pick and whether his struggles at tackle could open the door to a trade before the 2025 season kicks off.The conversation doesn't stop there. We react to Gary Davenport's bold take from Bleacher Report, evaluating whether Big Blue could also entertain trade inquiries for Kayvon Thibodeaux — and why Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Thibodeaux might make up one of the deepest EDGE rooms in football. Then we analyze Gridiron Graded's 25-year team draft rankings and discuss what it really means that the New York Giants landed in the top 10 — despite a win percentage near the bottom of the league. Do high draft capital investments and hits like Carter, Thomas, and Nabers outweigh whiffs like Toney and possibly Neal?We also examine 33rd Team's latest salary cap data, spotlighting the Giants' expensive offensive line, which ranks third in the NFL at nearly $70 million. Is this money well spent, or does it only highlight the O-line's inconsistency over the last few seasons?Later in the show, we discuss whether the Giants should look across town and target Jets guard Alijah Vera-Tucker as a possible trade acquisition. After a healthy and productive 2024, could Vera-Tucker bring long-term stability to the Giants' interior line?Drew and Rob also take a break from the trenches to talk safeties, reviewing PFF's latest rankings that include former Giants Julian Love, Jabrill Peppers, and Xavier McKinney — with McKinney shockingly placed at #2 league-wide.Finally, we dive into Phil Simms' passionate comments about rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart on the “Up & Adams Show.” Simms defends the value of playing Dart this season, praises his underrated mobility, and lays out why the Giants could be more competitive than expected before deciding when to give the rookie the reins. If you're looking for the most detailed, opinionated, and passionate breakdown of all things Giants — from the latest NY Giants news and rumors to deep dives on draft history, positional spending, and trade speculation — this episode delivers.#nygiants #newyorkgiants #giantsnews #giantsrumors #nygiantspodcastSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, X, & Twitch. The art of discernment is a hallmark feature of Ignatian spirituality. From the moment Ignatius began to differentiate between consolations and desolations during his eleven-month convalescence in Loyola to today, Jesuits and lay collaborators have been mining the depths of what it means to listen to and act on God's invitation in our lives. Today, we get a crash course in discernment. Fr. Mark Thibodeaux—renown spiritual author, Jesuit priest and the pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Orleans—is back on the pod to talk about his newest book, “Discern: Listening for God's Whispers.” Fr. Mark is a modern-day master of the Ignatian spiritual tradition. As you listen to this conversation, I invite to really bring his ideas into your own prayer. We're all constantly tasked with making decision—big, small and otherwise. Ignatian discernment can be a big help, no matter where you are in your own vocational journey. "Be Somebody to Somebody...that's how I got here." Kayvon Thibodeaux As we continue to make our way through NFL Training camps, we continue to visit and sit with star players from around the league getting inside scoop, hearing never-told-before stories and going inside the locker room mentality of the 32 teams as they prepare for the 2024 season. Stopping in the Big Apple after a crazy wknd at Fanatics Fest, we get the opportunity to sit with one of the top defensive players in the league who is looking to lead the New York Giants out of their rebuilding phase and into the post season phase. New York Giants are working on getting back in contention for the NFC East title and we sit with Defensice End, Kayvon Thibodeaux who shares his honest insights into the team's path forward and how the last two years have been transformative not just for him, but for the entire Giants organization. Thibodeaux doesn't hold back as he shares his perspective, takes accountability, and gives blunt honesty about the current state of the team to Ryan, Fred, and Channing. He opens up about how this year's Giants team stands apart from the past, revealing how he and his teammates are learning from their mistakes and recalibrating to make a different type of impact this season. In this episode, Thibodeaux reflects on his journey from his Southern California roots to becoming an #5 overall NFL draft pick. He opens up about the lessons he learned along the way, candidly discussing the responsibility of making money and his commitment to spending his earnings wisely, regardless of outside opinions. Thibodeaux also touches on feeling underestimated as a player, and despite being one of the most dominant linemen in the league right now, preparing for his next chapter- whether that be being a coach in the NFL or managing a NY cricket league. Thibodeaux and the guys also dive deep into the Xs and Os of the game, discussing how changes to the team- like the loss of RB Saquon Barkley- is a loss but doesn't weaken the NYG, only fuels them to work harder. It is important to find consistency with his teammates and have everything "clicking"- as the defensive star candidly reflects on the disconnect that plagued the Giants over the past two years. Solidifying the defensive core with new additions and the excitement around first round pick Malik Nabers has the Gmen fired up and focused for the future. He tells the guys how pumped he is to showcase how the Giants have regrouped and redefined themselves this offseason under Brian Daboll's leadership. We're 15 days out from NFL Kick Off, and we will continue to bring sideline views and locker room conversations as we gear up for the return of the NFL season!
