In Genesis 40-41, we pick up with Joseph in prison. Joseph's life has been met with affliction, suffering, and betrayal. However, none of it was without purpose. In Chapter 41, we see the purpose- Joseph's suffering was to deliver a people. We may not always see it in the moment, but God's provision is always best. Thank you for joining us today for the latest episode of The Covenant Podcast! In this Covenant Church podcast, Pastors Greg and Jackie share why baptism matters and what it truly represents. Water baptism is not what saves us — salvation only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ and saying “yes” to Him. But baptism is a powerful demonstration: a public declaration that the old life is gone and a new life in Christ has begun. Through testimony, Scripture, and stories of transformation, this episode reminds us that baptism is more than a ritual — it's a visible picture of what Christ has already done in us.

On occasion we address Covenant Church family questions during the Sunday morning message. We want to engage our folks where they are, and these questions help our pastors be more effective, by understanding where they struggle. There are many decisions Covenant makes, positions we take et al that do not make the difference between heaven and hell, and on which other churches sometimes take a different approach. Because our church is multi-denominational, we have many rich faith traditions represented among our people. In this message we look at the question “Why Do We Baptize That Way?” What is baptism - and why, who, and how should I be baptized?Join in as we listen to answers on difficult questions about our faith, and our church.LINKS + RESOURCES FROM THIS EPISODE:• Download the free study guide by visiting and clicking on the button "Download Study Guide"• Find a complete transcript here• Scripture References: Matthew 28, verse 19; Romans 6, verses 1-4; Matthew 3, verses 16-17; Colossians 2, verses 11-12; Ephesians 2, verses 8-9• Find out more about Covenant Church at covenantexperience.com
On Sunday morning, Jared walked us through the blessing of Jacob and Esau. While blessings may have been a time to rejoice, in this story there is trickery, deception, and even trembling that leads to a divided family. Thankfully, unification will come. We hope this sermon blesses you in the Lord. Originally June 22nd, 2025. Jared Dearing. Covenant Church. Tuscaloosa, AL.
