What is the price of unbelief? We're afraid of failure because we've been baptized in a culture of success. Especially when it comes to sharing our faith with others. But Pastor Joel reminds us that even though we are commanded to share the good news about Jesus, sometimes there is a level of unbelief that only a miracle of God is can reverse. You should take some relief from that! What else does Paul say about unbelief, let's listen in…This is a special four part series that will span the year of 2025. There isn't a good character in Genesis 34- Jacob at best is a passive father, and his sons, in pursuit of justice, dispense injustice. At this point, Israel (the nation) doesn't exist and there has been no giving of the law. What we see is a story of man's wickedness and their need for Jesus. We hope this sermon blesses you in the Lord. Originally August 24th, 2025. Hank Atchison. Covenant Church. Tuscaloosa, AL.

What does it really mean to “fear the Lord”? In this message from Pastor Joshua Bundy at Covenant Church, we explore Proverbs 1:7 and a biblical definition of “the fear of the Lord” that's far richer than just being afraid. Is it terror? Respect? Awe? Reverence? The answer is yes—and more. Pastor Josh shows how the fear of the Lord is not simply an emotion, but a transformative character trait that impacts our internal world—our emotions, thoughts, desires, affections, and conscience. Drawing from both Old and New Testaments—including the story of Saul's conversion and Psalm 139—he explains how fearing the Lord can move us from trembling to peace, from guilt to growth. Whether you're skeptical of the phrase or hungry for a deeper understanding of God's holiness and presence, this sermon will challenge and encourage you.
