The role of women in the church has unfortunately become one of controversy in some places. Guest speaker Tim Hanna takes us through how we engage with Scripture about this topic and where the weight of Scripture leads us. And why it need not be divisive, but rather enhancing for the church. Tim has spent 30 years in local church ministry in Australia, leading local churches in a number of states as well as lecturing at Theological College and in the church leadership space with Willow Creek Australia. He also spent ten years as CEO of Compassion Australia. Since then Tim has been involved in coaching and consulting and is currently the Chairman of Council, of Churches of Christ Queensland. His own experience and opportunities have given him a passion to help leaders flourish in their own leadership roles. Tim is married to Chris and they have nine children, 26 grandchildren and he loves those sometimes crazy, family times. He is also a sports tragic, enjoying most sports, and doesn't mind a good coffee. If you enjoyed this sermon please consider subscribing.CONNECT WITH US Instagram: www.instagram.com/humeridgechurch Facebook: www.facebook.com/humeridgechurch YouTube: www.youtube.com/humeridgechurchHave you made a decision to follow Jesus? As followers of Jesus, we are called to live different with a radical counter-cultural obedience. As Peter writes to the early church, he encourages them to live with holiness, purity, generosity and love in the face of great resistance, oppression, abuse and persecution. Do you want to know how to be happy? All of us want to be happy, but where do we find happiness? So many of the age old pursuits have come up empty. The pursuit of money, sex, power have left many with brief moments of elation but not a deep sense of contentment and happiness. Jesus invites us to embrace a whole new way of seeing the world and living. At the start of his most famous sermon, the sermon on the mount, Jesus lists a group of blessings to show the way to a happy and blessed life. And it turns out, the way to happiness is completely at odds with the message of this world.
Cade Williamson recaps the college football results from Week 1, along with guest Tim Hanna. Whatever has value to us, we make a plan for its future. Thankfully, God doesn't leave us in the dark about how to build a great family. He outlines His plans for the family in His Word. When we follow God's plan, we will build great families and a lasting legacy. Every parent, every grandparent, every follower of Jesus has a decision to make: What from my family of origin is good and needs to be preserved in the next generation? And what from my family needs to change so that we have a lasting legacy? What is going to make God's name great beyond your lifetime?

The Jersey Crosse Report heads down to South Jersey for Episode 2 as Safe interviews Mainland Regional High School Assistant Coach Tim Hanna. Coach Hanna talks about his background, the growth of the game in SoJo, and more in a fun episode.
The story of the Rich Young Ruler (found in Mark 10:17-22) who approached Jesus with a question about Eternal Life is often seen simply as a story of possessions and our attachment to them. It is much more than that. It speaks more deeply about our propensity as human beings for control – how we love to be in charge of things and circumstances, and how surrender is often foreign to us and very difficult to do.
