On February 11, 2023, Alexavier was found dead in his family's rented home in Medary, Wisconsin with multiple inflicted injuries and Xanax in his system. *Note: This episode was originally released on May 30, 2023.In 2011, 19-year-old Josie Dikeman was accused of child neglect after her boyfriend's one-year-old daughter suffered a skull fracture and a brain injury in her care. That charge was dropped. Two years later, she was convicted in a separate child neglect case regarding the same little girl, by then age three, who had been returned from foster care only to become malnourished and suffer fractured hands and feet while in Josie and her boyfriend's care.After Josie moved in with her new boyfriend, Derek Pedrin, forming a large, blended family with seven children, loved ones began reporting concerns that Josie was abusing or neglecting Derek's son, Alexavier. Derek and Josie began refusing to let Alexavier's maternal family see him. On February 10 of this year, police performed a welfare check at the family's request, finding Alexavier asleep and very drowsy, but supposedly fine. Fifteen hours later, police returned to the home, where six-year-old Alexavier was pronounced dead.This is part one of the infuriating story of Alexavier Pedrin. Following the untimely passing of firefighter Joe Crosse, a group of friends and colleagues has set up the Joe Crosse Benevolent Fund to support his family, particularly his children's future education. Inspired by the generosity of the community and guidance from Deirdre Foran — who faced a similar loss — the fund aims to provide long-term support for Joe's family, with donations invested to grow over time. So far, the initiative has received strong backing from local businesses, contractors, and individuals wishing to honour Joe's legacy of goodwill. On Friday's Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey spoke with Brian McMahon, firefighter based in Ennistymon fire station and was a friend and colleague of the late Joe Crosse and Deirdre Foran, who lost her late husband, Ollie due to a sudden death, almost 21 years ago. Tributes are being paid to a man who died in a workplace accident in Ennistymon last Thursday (24th). Joe Crosse is understood to have suffered life-threatening injuries following a fall. The 46-year-old was a plasterer and retained firefighter in Ennistymon. He was active within the community there, where he managed the U9s at Ennistymon GAA Club. Joe also raised thousands of euros for a number of different charities. Indeed, back in December 2021, Joe appeared on Morning Focus to talk about running 52 marathons in a year to raise money for charity. Joe is survived by his wife Brid, children Teagan and Odhran, and extended family and friends. His funeral mass will take place at Clouna Church, Ennistymon today (Monday, 28th July) at 12 noon. For more on this, Derrick Lynch was joined by Shane Talty, Ennistymon GAA Chair.

A North Clare firefighter, GAA Coach, Tradesman and Charity fundraiser extraordinaire who passed away following a tragic accident last week has been described as "the salt of the earth at his funeral mass". Clouna Church in Ennistymon was packed to capacity today to say goodbye to their own Joe Crosse.
