Soccer RPI is out. We preview week 6 football games.Â
Notre Dame travels to Arkansas to face the Razorbacks in an ABC-televised game kicking off at 11 Central in Week 5 of the 2025 college football season. Jay Greeson and Chris Lee preview the game, with topics including: Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green is a one-man wrecking crew who can win games with outstanding performances. But the Razorbacks have to stop shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers and untimely penalties. Notre Dame was torched by Texas A&M's Marcel Reed in the passing game two weeks ago, providing some hopes for an Arkansas upset. The Razorbacks were also awful against the run vs. Memphis, and now face one of the country's top running backs in Jeremiyah Love. Statistically, Arkansas's defense is better than Notre Dame's in some categories, but the Fighting Irish's schedule has included Miami and Texas A&M. With coach Sam Pittman on the hot set, is a home game here the best or worst thing that could happen to Arkansas? And how much are the Razorbacks bought into playing for Pittman? Finally, the Irish have to win this one to stand any chance to make the Playoff. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Auburn travels to Texas A&M to face a hot Aggies team that's unbeaten coming off a bye week on the heels of an upset at Notre Dame. Southeastern 16's Jay Greeson and Chris Lee preview the game, with topics including: Auburn has some strengths (rushing offense, rushing defense) where the Aggies have not performed up to expectations in the run game. That makes controlling the tempo with running back Jeremiah Cobb a key for the Tigers to pull an upset. On the other hand, A&M quarterback Marcel Reed has been great at generating big plays, whereas Auburn's Jackson Arnold has struggled to take advantage of the team's elite receiving talent (Arnold was sacked nine times in a loss at Oklahoma). A&M also has big-time receiving play-makers in KC Concepcion and Mario Craver. Auburn's struggled in the kicking game, which could be key in what might be a one-score game. However, the Tigers have only turned the ball over once all year against an A&M defense that has forced only two. Jay Greeson and Chris Lee preview Tennessee's road trip to Starkville, where they'll be greeted by thousands of maroon-clad cowbells in a contest in which FanDuel favors the Vols by 8 1/2. Topics in our preview include: Mississippi State's defensive performance has gone under the radar. The Bulldogs allow just 4.3 yards per play and 11.8 yards per game. Tennessee's banged-up defense got torched by Georgia in the passing game and then allowed 394 yards to UAB last week. However, the Volunteers have been great on third downs under Josh Heupel due to a disruptive front seven that perennially ranks among the nation's best in stops for loss. Quarterbacks Blake Shapen and Joey Aguilar have been everything their teams have needed. The Vols' Chris Brazzell has developed into one of the league's top play-makers. Mississippi State used the transfer portal effectively to get targets for Shapen, and is running the ball better with Fluff Bothwell and company than it has in years. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Alabama travels to Georgia for a 6:30 Central kickoff on Saturday night in a game televised on ABC. Georgia is a 3 1/2-point favorite on FanDuel as of Monday morning. Jay Greeson and Chris Lee discuss the matchup and hit the following topics: Georgia's Kirby Smart is just 1-6 against Alabama, including a loss to the Crimson Tide last year under Kalen DeBoer. However, the Bulldogs carry a 33-game home winning streak, last losing in Athens to South Carolina in double overtime on Oct. 14, 2019? Which quarterback is more ready for the big stage? Gunner Stockton was clutch, leading Georgia from eight points down in the final minutes in Knoxville two weeks ago by hitting London Humphreys with a beautiful touchdown strike and then hitting Zechariah Branch with a 2-point conversion before the Bulldogs won in overtime. On the other hand, Alabama's Ty Simpson is 41-for-46 for 608 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions since the Florida State loss. Who has the play-making edge? Georgia's receiving corps is thought to be better than last year's, with even second-teamers like Humphreys being good enough to make big plays. As for Alabama, Germie Bernard has been consistently good and Ryan Williams (who made the biggest play in last year's game) has shined in his return from injury. Will Alabama's Jam Miller return from injury? And if he does, how much will it matter if Alabama's offensive line doesn't perform closer to its potential? Who'll keep possession of the ball? Georgia is running 80 plays to the opponents' 58 on average, while Alabama held the ball for 52 of 103 offensive snaps in its last game two weeks ago vs. Wisconsin. Which defense is better? Georgia gave up 371 passing yards to Tennessee but played the run respectably (4.1 per carry on true running plays), while Alabama gave up 149 yards (ULM) and 209 (Wisconsin) its last two games. Analytical models have this one as a virtual toss-up, with Georgia favored by a half-point at home (with a 2 1/2-point home-field advantage factored in).
