Welcome to the daily304 – your window into Wonderful, Almost Heaven, West Virginia. Today is Wednesday, November 5, 2025. #1 – From WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY - WVU Marks 50 Years of People-Moving Innovation West Virginia University is honoring five decades of its iconic Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system — a driverless, rubber-tired pod vehicle network linking its campuses and Morgantown's downtown. The PRT remains a unique example of automated transit in the U.S., moving students and community members while underscoring WVU's engineering legacy. As the system evolves, the milestone serves as both celebration and signal for continued investment in innovation and mobility in West Virginia. Tony Caridi joins Dave Weekley on Hotline to recap West Virginia's busy week in both basketball and football. The two break down the Mountaineers' opening hoops win over Mount St. Mary's, the team's shortened rotation under Coach Ross Hodge, and the early emergence of Jasper Floyd as a backcourt leader. They also preview Saturday's football matchup against Colorado, where freshman QB Scotty Fox faces off against five-star phenom Julian “Juju” Lewis, and react to the Big 12 landing three teams in the top 13 of the first CFP rankings
"With Kristi [second analyst], it was much, much deeper. This whole dependent and infantile part of me was coming out. This is psychoanalytic language - I was moving into a regression that was terrifying, because I had been trained by my mother, and it was my nature, and it was what had worked for me to really approach things as an 'independent person' ie I don't need anybody; I don't need anything; I can function whatever happens. While I explored a little bit of that with Lane [first analyst], it was only very slight, and we never talked about it. With Kristi, she would actually make me aware of it, and I would become aware of my own need for her and withdraw. With Kristi, it was immediate that I knew there was much greater complexity going on, a level of complexity that I couldn't have handled in my 20s. And we locked horns almost immediately." Episode Description: We begin with describing the various psychotherapy journeys that individuals undergo in search of healing. In her memoir, Joan describes two intense yet fundamentally different psychoanalyses at different points in her life. The first analysis was focused on uncovering the unrecognized story of her early family life. The second demonstrated how she was unknowingly replaying that family life in her relationship with her analyst, "I was reliving my whole childhood in our relationship." She came to recognize the "unacknowledged parts of myself" that her analyst "coaxed from its psychic den." She invites us into the frenetic 'regressive' periods where she both desperately craved the affections of her analyst and simultaneously refused to accept the care that was being offered. Multiple episodes of rupture and repair led her to come to terms with the human condition, both her own and her analysts. She closes with "As minutely as I've described these two analyses, I feel as if I've left half unsaid. And yet, as Kristi might say, it's enough." Our Guest: Joan K. Peters, PhD, is a Professor Emeritus of Literature and Writing at California State University at California. She is the author most recently of Untangling: A Memoir of Psychoanalysis. At last year's meeting of The American Psychoanalytic Association, she gave a talk on memoir and psychoanalysis, and in the upcoming one, her book will be the subject of a panel discussion. In addition to her blog for Psychology Today, she's contributed an essay on dream interpretation for Psychoanalytic Inquiry, and is guest editing a special issue of that same journal on "The Patient Experience." The 2-5 WVU football team will host the 5-2 TCU Horned Frogs in a Big 12 Conference matchup on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Star quarterback Josh Hoover leads TCU into Morgantown to take on a struggling Mountaineer team, who will be relying on true freshman signal caller, Scotty Fox, who is being thrust into action due to injuries to multiple West Virginia quarterbacks. Rich Rodriguez's Mountaineer team has been decimated by injuries on the offensive side of the ball. In addition to quarterbacks Nicco Marchiol, Jaylen Henderson and Khalil Wilkins, WVU is also without their top two running backs in Jahiem White and Tye Edwards. Both players are out for the season. Wide receiver Jaden Bray also suffered a season ending injury earlier in the year. How does a freshman quarterback lead a struggling offense against team the caliber of TCU and pull off a win? After another ugly loss in Big 12 play by WVU football, this time to the BYU Cougars, were there any positive takeaways from WVU's performance? In this episode, Couz says there is and he will explain what they are. He will also talk about the negative takeaways, however, and go over those as well. Khalil Wilkins was the third starting quarterback on the season for the Mountaineers and his results were mixed. However, he seemed to get stronger as the game went on. True freshman Scotty Fox also received some playing time in the game. Couz breaks down the game played by both, including PFF grades, and talks about their future potential as signal callers for Rich Rodriguez's offense in Morgantown. Couz will also talk about the continued struggles by the Mountaineer offensive line and the sudden regression of the defense. Two weeks in a row they were eaten up in the pass game. Couz will talk about some of the reasons for that and will use PFF grades as a guide. Couz will also touch on many other aspects of the game that were positives and negatives for West Virginia. #wvu #wvufootball #wvumountaineers _____________________________________________________ Sources: Song: Smoke Rising Music by: CreatorMix.com Video: https://youtu.be/_oaZzkn0bW4 PFF College: pff.com/college _____________________________________________________ ⭐️Sponsors: ⭐️ DraftKings Sportsbook: https://www.draftkings.com/ Appalachia Digital: http://appalachiadigital.com/couz/ Get Your Tailgating Stuff HERE: http://victorytailgate.pxf.io/CouzCornhole
