Many people who speak about personal branding immediately go into choosing color schemes and creating logos. That’s fine. But it’s NOT what a brand is really made up of. Branding is the art and craft of discovering and describing your online persona, the idea people get about who you are and what you can do to help them. Kimberly Mays is an expert at helping women like you discover exactly who they are and what they offer the world, so if you’re curious about how to develop your online persona you will want to hear what she has to share on this episode of Happy Black Woman. Why weekly planning is better than daily planning. When you live day by day you have to deal with things as they come - which means you don’t get to prepare or think ahead. As a result, you can find yourself emotionally and mentally stressed simply because you haven’t had time to prepare yourself for the future. On this episode Rosetta’s guest, Kimberly Mays points out that organizing her schedule around weekly goals has enabled her to work intentionally toward specific projects and timelines without feeling the overwhelm and stress that can be so common among entrepreneurs. If that sounds appealing to you, it would be a good idea for you to hear what she shares on this episode. Identify ways you can serve as you are now rather than focusing on what you don’t know yet. When Rosetta asked Kimberly Mays for her best advice to women in the Happy Black Woman community who are ready to get their online persona and business rolling, Kimberly said the first step is to realize that you already have something valuable to offer, as the person you are right now. The online space can be a bit overwhelming, with many voices telling you what you need to learn and what you need to do in order to be successful. But Kimberly’s advice rings true: Just get started. You’ll have a much better chance of figuring out how to do business in a way that fits you if you clear your head and figure out how you can help people now. Every woman has an ideal image, that authentic self that is THEM. It has to do with their inner person and the way the outer is used to express it. On this episode of Happy Black Woman, Rosetta is chatting with Kimberly Harden, an expert at helping women discover their ideal image and learn how to confidently express it in their clothing choices, personal style, and interactions with others. It’s her mission to help you experience your ideal image from the inside out. Find out more from Kimberly on this episode. Action steps to start showing up in the world in an authentic way. You’ve got to have a strong foundation to build on if you are going to start showing up in the world authentically and with confidence. That starts with knowing who you are first of all and being confident in yourself, regardless if you feel you are overweight or too thin. Who you are is not defined by your body size, it’s defined by your belief in yourself - and THAT resides within. Kimberly Harden is going to help you understand how to integrate that level of confidence with your shopping and wardrobe choices, and how to put them together to express your ideal self. What you wear on the outside should reflect what’s happening on the inside. What should you do if you want to turn a corner and make some significant changes in your outer appearance so you can show up in the world with confidence? Assess where you are and come to terms with it. Then reflect on where you are headed, where you want to be. Once you have your eyes on that prize you need to reset your perspective about what it takes every day to head toward that goal. Then and only then are you ready to begin addressing your makeup and wardrobe, the things that will help you express your new self to the world in an external way. Find out how you can take practical steps to make the changes you desire, on this episode. To be confident in the world, learn to be OK with who you are and HOW you are. Too often, Kimberly Harden hears women wishing that their body is something different than it is. She has found that the most important thing women need to accept are the facts of who they are and HOW they are. Body size is not the litmus test of beauty. It’s not the thing that determines your worth. You’ve got to determine that entirely independent of your body size and appearance. Then you’ll be ready to find the clothes, makeup, and style that is uniquely you AS YOU ARE, not as who you wish you were. You can hear more of Kimberly’s insights on this episode. What should you do if you are not clear on what you want to do? When Rosetta asked Kimberly Harden what she would say to the woman who has a passion for something but doesn’t know if she should pursue it or not, Kimberly had three simple words: just do it. When you have a passion you not only owe it to yourself to get started pursuing it, you also owe it to the world. You don’t have that passion by accident, it’s God’s way of pointing you in the direction you are intended to go. If you take the time to listen to this conversation you’ll find Kimberly is full of great insights that will encourage you on your journey, so be sure you listen!
