Happy Father's Day to all the men who show up to provide for their families, I hope you remember to enjoy spending time with your children this weekend as you have earned it. Don't let others rob you of YOUR time, they will still be there on Monday, but your children will continue to grow older every day whether you participate in their lives or not. Remember to show them you care by spending your time in ways YOU choose that create happiness. Be the example of balance you want them to experience now, as well as learn how to treat their off-time and their own children when those days come. That means you have to start recognizing the excuses you allow to make up your day, and on a deeper level, your character. Each day, you wake up with the freewill to choose every action you make, or disregard. Stop making excuses and start focusing on executing. If you want something to happen, make a plan you can follow that will make it achievable. The plan isn't meant to be the only way to obtain your success, but to serve as a reminder of the goal and possible checkpoints if you find yourself straying from your motivation and commitment before completion.Don't say you are going to do things you know you have no intention of ever doing, that only makes your word that much weaker and unreliable. Justifying your excuses won't get you any closer to actually accomplishing your goals, it only wastes your precious time. Allowing others to overpower your values in order to fit in is ingenuine to who you are and will wear you down to someone unrecognizable. YOU have to be the one to stand your ground when it comes to your beliefs. If they truly love you, they will accept you even if they do not agree with your values. If they choose not to support your decisions, then maybe it is best to do it without them involved. Commitments are hard enough without justification of all the ways you can cheat yourself. Remove those obstacles now if you really care about seeing the mission accomplished. QUIT CHEATING ON YOU. Separate yourself from the people who don't share your values of success and enthusiasm for betterment as a human being. Discover those excuses you keep making, face them head-on so that you can eradicate those shady justifications, and move on intentionally towards the goals you desire most.

Responsibilities need attention. Problems need solving. Bills need paying. Commitments need keeping. Without realising it, people can slowly move from living with purpose to simply surviving from one day to the next. Many people know that feeling. The pressures of life have a way of making us forget who we are. We can become so focused on what is demanding our attention that we lose sight of what God has spoken over our lives. Yet Scripture reminds us that we are not accidents, mistakes, or afterthoughts. We are God's handiwork. His workmanship. Created with intention, purpose, and value. Paul reminds believers that God prepared good works for them long before they ever arrived at this moment. That means your life carries significance. Your story matters. Your presence matters. Even in seasons that seem ordinary, God is still shaping, guiding, and working through His people. Father, thank You that You created me with purpose and intention. Thank You that my value is not determined by success, performance, or the opinions of others but by Your love and Your grace. Jesus, help me see myself through Your eyes. Remind me of who I am in You when discouragement, comparison, or disappointment try to speak louder than Your truth. Strengthen my faith and help me walk confidently in the purpose You have prepared for me. Holy Spirit, awaken fresh vision within me today. Help me recognise opportunities to serve, encourage, and follow where God is leading. Replace insecurity with confidence and uncertainty with renewed hope. Across the world, from Chicago to Lagos, from Singapore to Christchurch and Tokyo, may discouraged hearts discover renewed purpose, uncertain minds find fresh direction, and every listener experience the confidence that comes from knowing they belong to God. Jesús, gracias porque fui creado con propósito. Jesus, obrigado porque fui criado com propósito. Jesus, salamat dahil nilikha Mo ako nang may layunin. Father, thank You that my life matters to You. What does it look like when one of the world's most longstanding institutional investors ($120B) decides to go deeper into venture capital? And what happens when one of the most respected LP teams in the business joins forces with them?Thomas Kristensen, who is responsible for the venture capital business at LGT Capital Partners, joins hosts Nick and Beezer for a wide-ranging conversation that doubles as an announcement: the Sapphire Partners team – including Beezer, Laura and Nate – have joined LGT Capital Partners. Thomas explains why the fit made sense.LGT Capital Partners manages over $120 billion on behalf of more than 700 institutional clients and is owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. That ownership brings a long-term perspective, often measured in decades rather than years, and it shapes how Thomas and his team approach venture: with patience, close partnership and a willingness to be both buyer and seller in private markets.Together with Nick and Beezer, Thomas unpacks the firm's recently published white paper on the case for increasing venture allocation, built on three pillars: lifecycle diversification, an innovation hedge against AI-driven displacement and the maturation of secondary markets as a liquidity tool. He also offers a frank assessment of the current market, noting that the pace of deployment feels reminiscent of 2020-2021, and that a valuation dip may be coming regardless of how transformative AI ultimately proves to be.From the endowment model's stress test to the temptation of clinging to a single fund-returner, this is a thoughtful conversation about long-term thinking from an investor who has spent more than two decades refining his approach.Quotes“It's not new that incumbents are challenged by new entrants. I think what's new is the speed at which this is happening. In the age of AI, it feels like there is a risk that many incumbents could be displaced quite quickly. And so including venture capital in your portfolio is a way of hedging against this.”“Are LPs gonna run out of capital? I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if the world is going to run out of capital to fund CapEx for AI right now. We always say, ‘Listen, if you come into venture capital as an asset class, if you're an allocator, you can go in when it's hot, you can go in when it's not. You will only really figure out in hindsight.' The most important thing if you start committing to venture is, make sure that you can commit at a steady pace over a long, long period of time because it's a market you cannot time. There's just no way.”Time Stamps04:13 Meet Thomas Kristensen, Head of Venture Capital at LGT Capital Partners05:52 The Princely Family of Liechtenstein and the Long-Term Mindset08:37 The White Paper: Why LGT Capital Partners Is Increasing Its Venture Allocation09:45 Three Pillars: Lifecycle Diversification, Innovation Hedge, and Secondary Markets12:35 Big News: The Sapphire Partners Team Joins LGT Capital Partners17:35 LP Consolidation: What It Means for GPs23:47 GP Advice: Keep First Things First on LP Alignment32:03 Engineering a More Liquid Private Portfolio37:07 AI Market Heat and Fundraising Pace45:44 Closing Remarks and What's NextLinksConnect with the guest and hosts on LinkedIn!• Thomas Kristensen• Beezer Clarkson• Nick ChirlsLearn more about:• LGT Capital Partners• Asylum Ventures• OpenLP• LGT Venture Capital White Paper

Stripping Back Life And Commitments (Your Emails) In this episode of Join Up Dots, David Ralph explores how most people are busy doing things that don't actually matter. He asks a simple question: if you removed 80% of what you did yesterday, would anything really change? He shares how he once ran his business by constantly adding more projects, websites and ideas, believing that more activity meant more success. Over time, he realised the opposite was true — the more he stripped away, the more focused, profitable and free his life became. By removing unnecessary work and focusing only on core activities like podcasting and audience connection, his income increased while stress dropped. He now takes regular time away, including monthly breaks, without worrying about the business. The key message is that busyness is not productivity. Most people spend their time on low-value tasks that don't move their life forward. Success comes from removing the unnecessary and focusing on what truly creates results.

The Ducks now sit No. 8 nationally with 17 verbal commitments, 224.75 total points and an 89.29 average per commit. Oregon is just 0.12 points behind Clemson for the No. 7 spot, giving the Ducks a realistic path to continue climbing as the summer recruiting calendar heats up.Skopil and Prehm also discussed the significance of Oregon landing two in-state prospects in VanSandt and Garlington. VanSandt, a Central Catholic tight end, was previously committed to Arkansas before reopening his recruitment. Garlington, a Nelson High School wide receiver, earned an Oregon offer after a strong camp performance before briefly committing to Washington State and later flipping to the Ducks.Reyna, a massive 6-foot-8 defensive line prospect from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, had long been viewed as an Oregon lean before making his commitment official.

The data says we're making real progress on climate. So why does the conversation still feel like we're losing, and what does it mean to finally separate the signal from the noise? Joe Speicher didn't arrive at Autodesk's Chief Sustainability Officer role through a conventional channel. Deutsche Bank, the Peace Corps in the Philippines, impact investing — each stop informed how he thinks about deploying capital and measuring what actually changes. That background matters now more than ever, because the sustainability conversation, he argues, has too often been happening at the wrong altitude. Organizations set targets, publish disclosures, and track compliance. Meanwhile, the real decisions — how a building gets designed, which materials get specified, how early-stage procurement choices lock in carbon for decades — happen elsewhere, mostly without sustainability in the room. Autodesk's software sits upstream in that process, shaping choices before ground is ever broken in industries responsible for roughly 40% of global emissions. "Sustainability cannot be a sidecar," Speicher says. It has to be embedded in the tools people use every day, making it everyone's job rather than one team's report. He also makes the case for reading the data honestly: 40% of global electricity now comes from renewables and nuclear, 43 countries have peak emissions behind them, and $2.3 trillion was invested in the energy transition in 2025. Are you building your strategy around the signals — or the noise?Joe Speicher is Chief Sustainability Officer at Autodesk, where he leads global ESG strategy and works to embed carbon intelligence across the tools used by architects, engineers, contractors, and asset operators — industries collectively responsible for roughly 40% of global emissions. His path to the role was anything but direct: he began his career in finance at Deutsche Bank, served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines, and spent years working at the intersection of impact investing and corporate philanthropy before becoming Autodesk's CSO. That cross-sector background — finance, development, technology — shapes how he approaches sustainability as a strategic business function rather than a compliance obligation, focused on translating climate risk into decisions that drive measurable resilience and performance.
