On Monday's edition of the Osceola's Seminole Sidelines, writer Nick Carlisle and editor Bob Ferrante give our thoughts on FSU's rout of Wake Forest and what it means for the team in November with rivalry games ahead (at Clemson on Saturday as well as Florida to close the season). What does it say about the team? What does it say about Norvell and his job? FSU has also landed a pair of commitments in defensive end Chris Carbin (who's 6-4, 236 pounds) and linebacker Daylen Green (who's 6-1, 210 pounds). What do they bring to the Seminoles? We're a month away from the Early Signing Period on Dec. 3. How is FSU's class shaping up? Should we expect more commitments or decommitments? Seminole Sidelines is sponsored by Alumni Hall.
Ever been stood up for a meeting that someone else requested? In this candid family episode, Cam and Otis get real about a frustration many professionals face but few discuss openly: the culture of no-shows and non-commitments in business."If you don't want to do something, then say it. If it's not a priority, then let us know," Otis states firmly, addressing the unnamed "no-showers" who've recently wasted their time. This father-son conversation dives into the psychology behind why people make commitments they don't intend to keep and the telltale signs that someone isn't being straightforward about their intentions. What makes this episode particularly valuable is their discussion about authentic communication in professional settings. When someone says, "this is not sales," Otis immediately thinks, "it's sales"—highlighting how transparency builds trust while manipulation erodes it. They even explore what genuine outreach looks like, noting how rare it is to receive a simple, honest invitation: "I'd love to buy you a cup of coffee."Whether you're building a business, managing relationships, or just trying to navigate professional courtesy in today's world, this unfiltered conversation offers a refreshing perspective on the value of saying what you mean and meaning what you say.#AuthenticLeadership #BusinessEtiquette #ProfessionalIntegrity #CommunicationMatters #TrustAndTransparency #LeadershipCulture #RespectInBusiness #SayWhatYouMean #RelationshipBuilding #10xYourTeamChapter Times and Titles:The Father-Son Format [00:00 - 04:00]Introduction to the family episode style"We're both lifelong learners, so the interest still holds."Setting the stage for an unfiltered conversationThe No-Show Problem [04:01 - 14:00]Addressing the frustration of meeting no-shows"If you don't want to do something, then say it"The difference between commitments and afterthoughts"This Is Not Sales" (But It Is) [14:01 - 25:00]Recognizing disguised sales pitchesThe importance of transparency in business relationshipsWhy authenticity builds trustThe Lost Art of the Coffee Invitation [25:01 - 35:00]"When was the last time somebody propositioned me that way?"The value of small commitments as signs of respectBuilding relationships through genuine interestLessons in Professional Courtesy [35:01 - End]Key takeaways about commitment and follow-through"I can't help you until you're ready to be helped."Final thoughts and standard outroWebsite: https://www.10xyourteam.net/Ready to lead with purpose? On this episode of The Jon Gordon Podcast, I sit down with Chris Malleo, co-author of The ChairLeader, for a moving conversation about his unexpected journey from college athlete to transformational leader. Chris shares how his own setbacks—on and off the field—ultimately led him to coaching, where an email from Frankie Kennevy, a nonverbal young man with cerebral palsy, changed everything. Together, Chris and Frankie turned a struggling football program into champions, building a culture rooted in selflessness, gratitude, and the belief that attitude can overcome any circumstance. Chris reflects on the incredible lessons he learned from Frankie about resilience, teamwork, and what it really means to make an impact. This episode is a powerful reminder that leadership is about lifting others up, and the greatest victories come from the heart. Listeners will be inspired by The ChairLeader and rethink what's possible! About Chris, Chris Malleo is a former Northwestern and professional football player turned coach, author, and leadership entrepreneur. As the founder of Culture Health and the author of The ChairLeader, Chris helps leaders and organizations strengthen culture through trust, alignment, and intentional leadership. After leading one of the nation's top high school football programs — sending 48 players to college in four years — Chris transitioned into commercial real estate, where he advises high-net-worth families and businesses on large-scale investments. His unique journey from locker rooms to boardrooms gives him a rare perspective on how great cultures are built. Grounded in faith, family, and purpose, Chris lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife Ashley and their four children. Send us a textBuyer payments didn't spiral because people forgot how to shop; they spiraled because the inputs changed overnight. We sit down with builder leader Tommy Fryer to talk candidly about what kept new construction moving when rates doubled—and why transparency beats shiny incentives every time. From the DR Horton headlines to the realities of “payment shock” letters, we lay out how improved taxes, real insurance quotes, and honest monthly numbers safeguard buyers and reputations.Tommy walks us through the rollercoaster: 2019 optimism, 2020–2021 mania, and the 2023 slowdown that forced everyone to reset. The answer wasn't gamesmanship. It was forward commitments—rate lock buckets that buy down payments without inflating prices or risking appraisals. That choice to take margin pain instead of hiding costs stabilized affordability, protected backlogs, and kept trades working. We also get into inventory discipline, smarter cycle times, and how to avoid a return to metered chaos that leaves buyers waiting months for a chance to sign.If you're an agent or lender, you'll hear a playbook for true partnership: full 3 percent commissions, Agent Rocks lead sharing, CE, and even builder-provided listings—plus a clear path for outside lenders to serve clients with meaningful closing cost credits. For buyers, especially VA borrowers, we map out the “rent it, then rebuy” strategy that turns relocations into stepping stones and builds long-term wealth through lease offsets and entitlement reuse. The throughline is simple: align around the monthly payment, tell the truth early, and choose programs that help families stay in their homes.Subscribe for more real talk on mortgages, incentives, and market timing. On this episode of The Jon Gordon Podcast, I sit down with Chad Willardson, entrepreneur, wealth advisor, and author of Fully Invested, for a heartfelt and lively conversation about what it truly means to win big at work and at home - without sacrificing one for the other. Chad shares the journey behind his “fully invested” philosophy: from the pivotal moment he chose family over chasing the Wall Street grind, to building successful businesses while making his marriage and five kids a top priority. Together, we unpack why “work-life balance” is a myth, and how true fulfillment comes from integrating your values into every part of your life, not compartmentalizing them. Key themes include learning to say no to good opportunities so you can say yes to great ones, cultivating championship teams in business and family, and establishing rituals and communication that keep loved ones connected even as life and careers evolve. Chad's candid stories and practical strategies illuminate how being present, whether at home or work, not only deepens relationships but powers greater professional success. Whether you're longing for more meaning at home while building your career, or questioning if you really have to choose between family and ambition, this episode is a powerful reminder that your richest life is possible when you invest fully in what truly matters. About Chad, Chad Willardson, CFF®, CRPC®, AWMA®, is the President and Founder of Pacific Capital, a family office services firm dedicated to helping high-net-worth entrepreneurs achieve lifestyle and financial freedom.
