I've also served as a board director at Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and co-authored several books and numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles on the subject. I've given public presentations around the country and continue to do research into the crimes of 9/11 in order to help people come to a better understanding. Kevin Ryan is author the 2013 book, Another Nineteen: Investigating Legitimate 9/11 Suspects. This interview was broadcast live on August 22nd, 2021. What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth discussion with Steph Driver, the NHL Editorial Manager for SB Nation, Site Manager for BroadStreetHockey.com, and the BSH Radio podcast, about the coming Flyers offseason and how this team can get out of purgatory. What are the most pressing and under-the-radar issues facing this team before the 2021-2022 season? We dove into it this week, and it was a great discussion! But first, the guys talked in hypotheticals about what the sports world may look like 100 years from now. (approx. 6:40)After having some time to digest the Sixers debacle in the second-round, we gave our thoughts about Daryl Morey indicating that the organization wants to keep working with Ben Simmons in the future. Do we buy it? (approx. 12:10)From there, we dove into enthusiasm and excitement over the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. (21:40)We then talked about how the Phillies are just the same ol', same ol' team as we've seen, and how the starting pitching against the Mets in their recent series was truly fantastic, but for nothing. (27:20)We also got into the upcoming Temple Football season and what we're hoping to see from this program that's trying to get out from the bottom of their conference. (35:55)This week's interview, and what we threw down on the Table was a discussion with Steph Driver. We dove Travis Sanheim's potential contract with the team, how Travis Konecny can rebound, whether Shayne Gostisbehere will be around for another season, and much more! (approx. 42:55)

Episode Title: “Chaotic Holiday Eating” Intro: In this episode, Tracy interviews Stacy Schilter-Pisano, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Eating Disorders Specialist / Supervisor, and Site Manager at The Emily Program in Lacey, WA. Stacy and Tracy help listeners understand why some people struggle with food, eating and body image, especially during the Holidays.     Why do people experience chaos around food, especially during the Holidays? Internal Stressors = Thoughts that are distressing. 60% of the time, people are thinking: What did I eat? What will I eat? What do I look like? What do I weigh? External Stressors = Situations or events that happen in the world that are distressing Family togetherness when family members make negative comments Isolation from family or friends during the time of expected togetherness Financial concerns Busy Schedules, School and Work Returning home from college during the holidays and facing possible judgment Family comments about how your body has changed (appearance-related comments) COVID-19 and the impact of isolation on our body shape and size TIP: Be aware of / avoid any appearance-related comments (i.e. “You’ve got that COVID-19” or “You look great…you’ve lost weight”) TIP: Focus your comments on the person, and who they are (vs. what they look like) Food-Related Stressors: Family Comments about Food “I shouldn’t be eating this” or “Today is my cheat day” TIP: Enjoy the food and the company without excessive comments or pressure on yourself or others “What you’re eating doesn’t look very good” or “You can really put it away” TIP: Be mindful of your comments on someone else’s eating experiences “You need to eat more (or less)” TIP: Be supportive! Keep your loved ones out of the spotlight “I’ll need to work this meal off later” TIP: Keep the focus off the effects of the food – appreciate food and family “I’ll starve myself for the big meal, then go to town eating.” TIP: This effects blood sugar, and sets us up for overeating later. It’s best to regulate your eating all the time to keep blood sugar regulated.   Fear Foods: Look at the Pie! Pie Thought #1: “I’m afraid of the pie.” Pie Thought #2: “I never get pie. I want pie!” Pie Thought #3: “This pie will make me gain weight” Pie Thought #4: “This pie will make me behave in ways I don’t want!” Pie Thought #5: “Am I expected to eat this pie?” Pie Thought #6: “Who made the pie? What’s in it?” Pie Thought #7: “What will people think if they see me eating the pie?” Pie Thought #8: “Someone expects me to eat this pie now!” Pie Thought #9: “Maybe this pie isn’t so bad…it has fruit in it.” Pie Thought #10: “What are the ingredients? Is the pie safe?” Pie Thought #11: “I’ll avoid the unhealthy crust” TIPS to handle internal, external and food-related chaos TIP: Attend to your body’s actual experience of hunger and fullness TIP: Speak the truth about your hunger and fullness TIP: Think about and enforce your own food boundaries TIP: Honor and respect your own food choices, and the choices of others TIP: Empower each other to make our own wise choices with food TIP: Stay on your own plate! TIP: Know who is at your table and cope ahead (try not to “catastrophize”) TIP: Have a safety plan and / or a support person to contact TIP: Take a breath and consider leaving the area for a bit TIP: Talk yourself through it like a best friend would TIP: View yourself through a compassionate, non-judgmental lens – be kind to yourself! Bonus Tips Stay out of the WEB Avoid comments about Weight Avoid comments about Eating Behaviors Avoid comments about body weight, size and shape Approach your loved ones for support Practice body attunement, noticing hunger and fullness and responding appropriately Set and keep food boundaries Be non-judgmental, compassionate and flexible Practice mindfulness for flexibility (our pets can teach us!) He looks forward to contributing to the development and sustainment of current and future leaders   He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He currently serves as a Site Manager for a community-based organization in Brooklyn. He has held positions of increasing responsibility leading teams and community to and through quality of life initiatives.    Abrams decided to write books and produce videos about leadership after achieving success with one-on-one trainings. Jen gives us SO much insight into the process of choosing the best wedding venue for your big day, including: Why it’s crucial to have a great relationship with the staff at your venue. How to look for red flags on a contract. Why some venues require that the couple book certain “required” vendors. Minimum amount of time for setup and strike What is a Food and Beverage Minimum? How to make sure you’re not backed into a corner on catering costs. Negotiating the right food and beverage minimum. What is the difference between a Site Manager and a Wedding Coordinator? Why hire a wedding coordinator? What Plan B scenarios should you ask about before you book your venue? How to make intelligent decisions in the planning process and then let the day unfold. What are the red flags to look for in a venue’s contract? Should your venue be able to cancel your wedding? How can you protect yourself? If your venue is planning to make changes (updates, renovations, etc.) do they have to communicate that to you? What if you want to bring a pet? When Paul Millsap was out almost all season in Denver, it was a growth opportunity for some of the players. 16:00 With Nicola Jokic as an example, how has the center position evolved in the last few years, or has it? There really is no prototypical center any more. 22:15 Blazers are not in a position to make any big decisions right now. 24:15 The character of the Trail Blazers is that Damian Lillard is loyal to his teammates. And now the team is playing well, it seems less likely they will make any big changes in the off season.26:15 How do the Nuggets go from missing the playoffs to fighting for the number one seed in the west?(27:15 But first a brief digression about Lonzo Ball and LeBron James)28:45 What is Jokic like as a leader? On the court, he truly loves the passing game. He is definitely the person they go to in the clutch.33:00 Locker room leader is tough to identify, in some ways it is the coach, Mike Malone. 35:15 Are there ways that The Blazers and the Nuggets are similar? Jamal Murray and Damian Lillard play in a similar way although Lillard is much better. Both Jokic and Nurkic are excellent passers. Lillard and the Trail Blazers have uncommonly good locker room chemistry.37:45 How is Denver going to fare in the playoffs?41:00 When game planning for and against Denver, what do you look at? 46:15 Find Adam at denverstiffs.com and @adam_mares Learn more about your ad choices. Brian Hawkins was told he wasn't smart enough to work as a hospital payroll technician. Urged by a mindset instilled by his family “You can do, you must do and you will do" and driven to change the medical system that treated his grandfather poorly Brian persisted to eventually to become the Director of the DC Veteran Affairs Medical Center. You’ll hear just how much Brian’s parents (and children) have taught him about leadership all throughout this interview. Brian believes that only by engaging employees is it possible to provide the excellent care the patients and their families deserve. The Hawk Eye program he initiated at DCVAMC empowers employees at all levels to actively observe customer service and immediately advocate for the patient if the service is sub-par. Employees also report their observations to Brian and his team and thanks to this program, numerous changes have been made at DCVAMC to better service the patients. One change resulting from this effort was a complete $900k redesign of the hospital atrium to make female veterans and employees more comfortable. Brian’s interview is filled with stories, examples and tips for creating engagement, diversity and excellence in any organization! What You'll Learn Tips and strategies to create a culture of excellence and diversity in any organization How employee engagement (or lack thereof) drastically impacts customer service Why it’s important to cultivate a strong organizational culture that that transcends whoever occupies the leader chair How Abraham Lincoln’s philosophy described in Team of Rivals has shaped Brian’s leadership approach Ways in which Brian’s perspective as a leader was shaped by his parents and being a parent Why it’s better to not reference the holidays as a new podcaster if you’re planning to launch the said podcast in the New year – yes, this interview was recorded Christmas week as will become quite evident when you listen ;) This and so much more you’ll enjoy hearing about in this episode of Leadership Insights!
