Today's guest transitioned from corporate executive assistant to virtual assistant to owning her own virtual assistant agency in the span of two years. But it wasn't easy. And it didn't happen overnight. Have you ever seen those social media ads for entrepreneurs in the online space who talk about making $10,000/month working only 10 hours a week … and how you can do it, too? It isn't entirely untrue, but the reality is that it takes work to build your own business and get it to the level of success where you only have to work a few hours a week. In this episode, Sadie Prestridge shares her journey to a six-figure VA business—from putting in the work (even when it's not fun) to embracing support and growing a team, and the importance of accountability. She also talks about the responsibilities of a VA, how to know when you're ready to hire one, and how a VA can support solo entrepreneurs. What you'll find in this episode: [01:42] How Sadie landed in the world of virtual assistants and quickly grew to offering higher level executive support [04:56] What it was like building an agency so quickly after starting her solo entrepreneur business [07:06] What a VA can offer your business and take off your plate, and how to know if it's the right time to hire a VA [18:16] What is was like for Sadie as a new mom and a business owner, and how gaining success in your business doesn't happen overnight [26:20] How to avoid burning the candle at both ends and keep your personal boundaries, and why it's important to have support in your business   For full show notes, resources, and link, head to https://www.dralyssaadams.com/uncommon-couch-podcast Check out my new offering, Your Uncommon Brand VIP Day: https://www.dralyssaadams.com/vip-branding-experience If you enjoyed this show, make sure to follow the podcast so you'll never miss an episode. Have you ever felt stuck in a business that might be financially successful but is still mentally and emotionally exhausting? This can happen when you build a business that's not aligned with your energy and inner magic.  Holly Maree understands this all too well. She worked successfully in multiple industries, from nursing to cafe ownership, with each industry becoming more painful than the last, before she finally figured out how she operated differently as a human design Manifestor. This realization allowed her to redesign her life and business in a way that was aligned with how her energy works.  In this episode, she tells the story of how she eventually found her calling by following her intuition as a Manifestor, how Manifestors need different advice and encouragement than other types (and how that's often lacking in the Human Design community) and why she focuses specifically on teaching Manifestors to build trust in themselves and explore their own magical gifts. What you'll find in this episode: [01:59] Holly's story of discovering her own Manifestor passions and why she's so enthusiastic about helping other Manifestors do the same [15:33] Why owning a business as a Manifestor looks so different than it does for other Human Design types and why it's okay to run a business your own way [24:26] How coming from a physiological background allows Holly to connect other Manifestors with their own bodies [28:58] Why your business is a mirror and how treating it as an entity unique to you allows you to find your most aligned space [34:26] How Manifestors often thrive by using different business strategies than other Human Design types and how they need to protect their energy in business [38:04] How Holly's business continues to evolve as she leans into her Manifestor strengths   For full show notes, resources, and link, head to https://www.dralyssaadams.com/uncommon-couch-podcast Take the free quiz: Which core offer is right for your business? One of the most maddening, frustrating, and rewarding parts of building a business is the desire to create the perfect offer. There are about a million ways to package your genius. Whether it's a VIP day, a membership, a group program, or a one-on-one offer, it can be hard to decide which option will serve your clients best.  In this episode of The Uncommon Couch, I'm sharing the six things to consider when creating and selling your genius. We have to let go of the idea that there is a perfect way to do this  because that will really drive you crazy trying to figure it out. It's almost impossible to create the perfect offer and have it sell on the first try. Instead, we need to think about this experience as iterative and experimental.  I know how frustrating it is to put your time and energy into creating an offer that doesn't sell. Everyone has been there. The only difference between those that are successful and those that aren't is if you kept going or not. If you're committed to the idea of creating a unique offer, you have to keep trying.  What you'll find in this episode: The basics of what an offer is Packaging your offers in a way that feels good for you  Why you need to go beyond the modality and find your magic Focusing on the problem you solve and the results you achieve The importance of believing in your offer Creating freebies to get people on your email list  Getting in the flow of your genius What happens when your offer doesn't sell   For full show notes, resources, and link, head to https://www.dralyssaadams.com/uncommon-couch-podcast Take the free quiz: Which core offer is right for your business? And if you don't have role models to help you see that it's possible, that makes it all the more difficult. In today's episode, I'm chatting with Dr. Caryn Seebach, a health psychologist with a specialization in holistic management of chronic disease. She transitioned from working in male-dominated clinics to carving her own path in the online health space. Simply making the decision to make a change can cause a shift. Doors open. The universe responds. There is beauty in finding your own path. You can break the mold of what your career space looks like, little by little. You can become a role model for honoring yourself in your work.
