Ferrol conmemora o 53º aniversario dos sucesos do 10 de marzo de 1972 Ferrol lembra hoxe, 10 de marzo, un día clave na súa historia, conmemorando o 53º aniversario da traxedia que marcou a cidade en 1972. Nese fatídico día, Amador Rey e Daniel Niebla perderon a vida durante unha manifestación obreira que demandaba un convenio laboral xusto e o fin da ditadura franquista. A violencia policial que tivo lugar nos Asteleiros de Bazán quedou gravada na memoria colectiva da cidade e segue a resonar na loita dos traballadores e traballadoras de Ferrol. Amador Rey, casado e pai de catro fillos, foi alcanzado por un disparo que lle causou a morte antes de chegar ao hospital San Javier, na Praza de España. Daniel Niebla, tamén traballador dos astaleiros, compartía as mesmas reivindicacións e tamén foi vítima da brutalidade policial. A súa morte non só significou a perda de dous homes, senón o recordo dun Ferrol que sufría baixo a opresión dunha ditadura implacable. Na xornada de hoxe, o acto de lembranza comezou ás 12:00 horas cunha manifestación protagonizada polos traballadores de Navantia, que percorreu as rúas ata o Monolito do 10 de marzo, no barrio de Recimil. A continuación, tivo lugar unha ofrenda floral ás 12:30, seguida dun acto institucional no Concello de Ferrol. Á tarde, un novo percorrido manifestante convocado polo sindicato Ziga percorreu a cidade, complementado por actividades no Ateneo. Este día é tamén unha oportunidade para reflexionar sobre o legado daqueles sucesos e a situación laboral actual. Alfonso Tellado, histórico sindicalista que viviu aqueles momentos, compartiu a súa visión sobre o que significou aquel 10 de marzo e o impacto no sindicalismo de Ferrol e Galicia. "Para min, este día é agridulce", comentou Tellado. "Hoxe en día, vemos que, aínda que a loita contra a ditadura foi fundamental, tamén foi unha loita polo modelo de negociación colectiva, que naquel momento estaba en marcha e que marcou un cambio importante na historia do movemento obreiro", engadiu. O sindicalista tamén subliñou que a loita daquela época non só se centraba na liberdade política, senón tamén na mellora das condicións laborais dos traballadores, un aspecto que aínda segue sendo clave na loita actual. "A negociación colectiva que se desenvolveu aqueles anos, con tanto esforzo, foi fundamental para conquistar dereitos que hoxe son parte da nosa realidade", explicou. Ao longo da conversa, Tellado tamén reflexionou sobre os cambios nas ferramentas de mobilización e no sindicalismo. "As novas ferramentas, como as redes sociais, poden ser útiles, pero non substitúen a formación e o traballo directo nos lugares de traballo", afirmou. "A loita sindical debe seguir sendo un elemento de presión nas mesas de negociación, pero tamén un espazo para organizarse desde dentro das empresas". Neste sentido, Alfonso Tellado lamentou o retroceso na formación sindical e a falta de unidade de acción que caracteriza a situación actual. "Os sindicatos, hoxe en día, parecen máis preocupados por manter a súa estructura interna que por loitar realmente polos dereitos dos traballadores", asegurou. A pesar desas críticas, Tellado recoñeceu que a memoria histórica segue sendo un valor importante na loita obreira. "A xente de Ferrol aínda lembra e honra aos mártires do 10 de marzo, pero tamén hai que aprender das leccións do pasado. Non podemos permitir que se repitan os mesmos erros", advertiu. Este 53º aniversario do 10 de marzo de 1972 é un recordatorio da resistencia e da loita pola xustiza social. Mentres as rúas de Ferrol se enchen unha vez máis de manifestantes e memoria, queda claro que o legado daqueles traballadores, que sacrificaron as súas vidas por un futuro mellor, segue vivo. Como ben dixo Tellado, "a loita continúa, e a memoria de Amador e Daniel sempre será a forza que nos impulsa a seguir loitando por un mundo máis xusto".

We continue our conversation with Adis Ziga as he shares his vivid childhood memories of the war, the atrocities that he witnessed, and the emotional homecoming with his father.  For months Adis and his family had no idea if he was dead or alive after he and so many other men and boys fled to the mountains surrounding Zepa and Rogatica, to escape the inevitable at the time for them, genocide.

Adis Ziga was born in Yugoslavia in the municipality Rogatica on April 21, 1983.  He grew up in the village of Žepa, which is located in Rogatica, and also became one of three Bosniak enclaves in eastern Bosnia that were surround by the Army of the Republic Srpska during the war. Adis has come forward to share his story and vivid memories of the war, the atrocities that he witnessed and his flight to freedom with his mother, sister and niece, while his father sought refuge in the hillsides surrounding Zepa and Rogatica, as had many other men and boys, in order escape the realities of the ongoing ethnic cleansing.  The following is the first of two interviews we have conducted with Adis.

Manga Mavericks @ Movies Month is going strong! We’ve been posting new movie reviews on our Youtube channel every day and plan to do so for the entire month of May! These reviews will also be uploaded to our podcast feed just a few days afterward. I’ve just put up our Ghost in the Shell/Power Rangers podcast, a pairing of two remakes of beloved 90’s franchises that weren’t particularly well-received. Check it out and look forward to more new @ Movies podcasts popping up on our feed this month! Of course, @ Movies isn’t all we’re doing this month! We’ve got regular Manga Mavericks episodes planned too, just like the one you’re about to listen to! This week’s episode is kind of a back-to-basics affair. Both your regular Mavericks are present, there’s a normal amount of news to talk about, and we cover a few recent Jump Starts and one-shots to cap off the show! A pretty normal episode compared to the past couple of atypical entries. Honestly, the only thing that’s missing is a Bookscan list to talk about, but I’m sure we’ll have plenty to say about the next one. Before you listen to the show, I want to emphasize the content warning for the Gerard Jones story. There are some extremely graphic details we had to acknowledge that should be sickening to any sane human being. It made me physically ill when we were discussing it, and then again when I had to edit it. If you can’t stomach hearing about sexual violence towards children, then please, you are better off skipping that news piece because it is extremely upsetting. Manga Mavericks @ Movies Month is going strong! We’ve been posting new movie reviews on our Youtube channel every day and plan to do so for the entire month of May! These reviews will also be uploaded to our podcast feed just a few days afterward. I’ve just put up our Ghost in the Shell/Power Rangers podcast, a pairing of two remakes of beloved 90’s franchises that weren’t particularly well-received. Check it out and look forward to more new @ Movies podcasts popping up on our feed this month! Of course, @ Movies isn’t all we’re doing this month! We’ve got regular Manga Mavericks episodes planned too, just like the one you’re about to listen to! This week’s episode is kind of a back-to-basics affair. Both your regular Mavericks are present, there’s a normal amount of news to talk about, and we cover a few recent Jump Starts and one-shots to cap off the show! A pretty normal episode compared to the past couple of atypical entries. Honestly, the only thing that’s missing is a Bookscan list to talk about, but I’m sure we’ll have plenty to say about the next one. Before you listen to the show, I want to emphasize the content warning for the Gerard Jones story. There are some extremely graphic details we had to acknowledge that should be sickening to any sane human being. It made me physically ill when we were discussing it, and then again when I had to edit it. If you can’t stomach hearing about sexual violence towards children, then please, you are better off skipping that news piece because it is extremely upsetting. Tomaz Levak and Ziga Drev are the founders of OriginTrail, a service that developed the first purpose-built protocol blockchain-based supply chains. Their protocol aims to bring trust into the supply chain without the need for a middleman brokering trust. It's always good to hear different perspectives from various real estate professionals.  We are fortunate enough to land an interview with one of San Antonio's hottest architects, Felix Ziga.  Felix has completed major city redevelopment initiatives, new constructions projects, and is the go-to authority for many real estate investors in the city.  I've personally used him on several of my projects in a historic district and he taught me a ton.
