In this episode Kirk talks with Note, Nuk, and Note Suwanchote. They are 3 brothers who have been participating in the Seattle 48 Hour Film Project since 2011, winning many awards and taking the big prize, Best in City, in 2021.

In this episode Krk and Kris talk with Allison Whitmer, the Montana State Film Commissioner. They thank her profusely for her vigorous and persistent support of the Montana 48 Hour Film Project, the inherent production benefits of shooting in Montana, the myriad talented filmmakers in Montana, the informal development of a Pacific Northwest production alliance, the Seattle Film Summit, and bear sightings.

Krk talks with long time 48 Hour Film Project participant in Seattle and Portland, Brian Sutherland. They talk about the winning strategies that the various teams he's worked with have employed. (He's been in 2 Seattle winning films and 1 in Portland!) He describes how the 48HFP has helped him create a career as an actor and acting coach. Then Krk and Brian dig into the ethics of cheating in the 48... or rather they both wonder why anyone would cheat in the 48. WHat's the possible benefit really?

Kris, Krk, Indra, and Wouter discuss their recent 48HFP related travels to the south of France and basically all of Montana east to west!

Franklin Carpio is a union grip in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, indie filmmaker, 48 Hour Film Project participant and all around nice dude. We discuss why the 48HFP resonates with him, how it helped train him for the rigors of working on long, professional shoots. We also dig into the idea that filmmaking isn't just about actors, directors, cinematographers, and editors... the needs of film production span a wide variety of professional occupations.

48 Hour Heroes: Origin Stories explores the stories behind the people who participate in and those who organize the 48 Hour Film Project, the world's largest filmmaking competition. Krk Nordenstrom hosts this series. He's run the 48 Hour Film Project in Seattle since 2005. His goal is to explore the back stories of people who have participated in or organized 48 Hour Film Projects around the globe and show why they are his personal heroes.
